Robinson Ed L. Robinson, 81, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 17, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Brown of Central Church of the Nazarene officiating. Military rites will be by Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 26. Arrangements are by BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mr. Robinson was born in Dennison. During World War II he served in the Navy. In 1955 he moved to Amarillo from Altus, Okla. He was employed by Nest Fresh Egg Co. for 35 years before his retirement. He married June Tipton in 1960. She died in March. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Lee Robinson, in 1980. Survivors include a son, Jesse James, of Amarillo; a stepson, Lance Landers, of Scotia, Calif.; his sister, Eloise Petree of Gig Harbor, Wash.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Veterans Administration Medical Center Hospice in Amarillo. Paul O. Miller Paul O. Miller, 71, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 18, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church with the Rev. Scott Herbert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Miller was born in Henrietta, Okla. He had lived in Amarillo for 65 years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church. During World War II he served with the Navy. He worked with Asarco until his retirement. Mr. Miller married Arlane Metheny in 1950 at Clovis, N.M. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Hamilton, in 1984. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mitch Miller of Amarillo; two brothers, Earl Miller of Paris, Texas, and Mike Miller of Roanoke, Va.; and seven grandchildren. The family will be at 344 Yucca. They request memorials be to Christ Lutheran Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 31327, Amarillo, Texas 79120-1327. Charlie Crain Charlie Crain, 78, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 19, 1998. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Saint Mary's Catholic Church by Monsignor Francis A. Smyer, pastor. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Crain was born in Battle Creek, Mich., where he graduated from high school. He also graduated from Argubright Business College, Amarillo Junior College and West Texas State University. He moved to Amarillo in 1947. A tax accountant, Mr. Crain retired from Diamond Shamrock in 1985 after 27 years of service. He also was employed by the City of Amarillo, Jerry Cooley & Associates, Marsh Electrical Supply and the River Road Independent School District. For 10 years Mr. Crain was a professional baseball umpire. He was a member of Southwest Baseball Officials Association Division I, Southwest Football Officials Associating Division III and Southwest Basketball Officials Association Division III. He was a past president of Amarillo Umpires Association and a past president of Amarillo Softball Association Umpires, among other offices. In 1987 Mr. Crain received the Special Achievement Award from the Panhandle Sports Hall of Fame. In 1988 he was inducted into the Texas Amateur Softball Hall of Honor as a charter member. Mr. Crain served with the Texas National Guard. He was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church. He married Margueritte Ann Martin in 1946 at Battle Creek. She died in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Diantha Steinhilper of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. Lonnie R. Sparkman Lonnie R. "Sparky" Sparkman, 76, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 18, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Chapel of Memories, Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Sparkman was born in Lorenzo. In 1940 he moved from Roscoe to Amarillo. He was an inspector at Pantex for 45 years before he retired. He married Jeanne Baker in 1957 at Denver. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter in 1997. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Suzy Lemaster of Amarillo, Renda Lowe of Woodland Hills, Calif., and Carol Knight of Bushland; a brother, Charles Sparkman of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Haschke was born in Randall County. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Umbarger, serving in the Altar Society, DCCW, and the Rosary Maker Guild. She married Leander Haschke in 1945 at Umbarger. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jo Ann Haschke, in 1966. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Peggy Morris of Amarillo, Celine Jones of Nazareth and Angeline Reinart of Hereford; four sons, Ronald Haschke of Dalhart, Samuel J. Oklahoma Karen McDaniel FELT, Okla. - Karen McDaniel, 53, died Friday, July 17, 1998. She married Daryl G. McDaniel in 1973. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Dumas Cemetery with the Rev. Roger Harwerth, pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Borger, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mrs. Kefalinos was born in Benton County, Missouri. She was the oldest active member of the Moore County Senior Citizens. A homemaker who raised two sons on a farm in Missouri, she worked at the Kaiser shipyards in California during World War II. She moved to Dumas in 1971 from Napa, Calif. Mrs. Kefalinos was preceded in death by her first husband, G.W. Abell, in 1941, and by her second husband, Sammy Kefalinos, in 1965. A son, Dewey F. Abell, died in 1993. Survivors include a son, William J. Abell of Dumas; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. The family will be at 315 S. Birge in Dumas. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home. Miss Long was born in King County. She returned to Paducah from Kermit in 1971. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist church. Jackie Ray McNeese HEREFORD - Jackie Ray McNeese, 57, of Houston, formerly of Hereford, died Saturday, July 18, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Community Church of Hereford with Dorman Duggan, pastor, and the Rev. Gordon Cox of Grace Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. McNeese was born at Daugherty. He came to Deaf Smith County from Floydada in 1947. While in Hereford he worked as a journeyman for Deaf Smith Electric. In 1981 he moved to Houston, where he was employed as a project coordinator by Compact Computer. Mr. McNeese was a member of First Baptist Church of Rose Hill and of Texins Bass Club, an affiliate of Boys Harbor. He married Jackie Nunley in 1962 at Hereford. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Captain Kelly McNeese of Belltone and William R. McNeese of Houston; one daughter, Christi McDonald of Canyon; his mother, Jewell McNeese of Hereford; two sisters, Joyce Duggan of Hereford and Emma Lee Locke of Logan, N.M.; one brother, Don McNeese of Hereford; and six grandchildren. Mary Doyle DALHART - Mary Doyle, 69, died Saturday, July 18, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Dalhart with the Rev. Bob Wood, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home in Dalhart. Mrs. Doyle was born in Dalhart, where she attended school. She and her husband owned and operated E.W. Doyle Trucking. In the 1960s Mrs. Doyle ran the family's feed business in Texline. She later worked as a cashier and checker. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Eldon W. Doyle in 1947 at Dalhart. She was preceded in death by a son, Marty Doyle. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Danny Doyle of Dalhart and Dale Doyle of Amarillo; a daughter, Laurie Vogel of Dalhart; four sisters, Beulah Sims of Stratford, Fern Hutchinson of Tulsa, Okla., Shirley Vermillion of Hereford and Martha Cleaver of Amarillo; two brothers, Robert Ringo and Richard Ringo, both of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1200 Winchester. Cuba Lee Clark PERRYTON - Cuba Lee Clark, 85, died Friday, July 17, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ted Latham officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mrs. Clark was born in Carter Community, Okla. She later lived in Sayre. In Perryton she worked many years as a bookkeeper at First National Bank and Perryton National Bank. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Homer Clark in 1969 at Perryton. She was preceded in death by two sons. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Lebby Crane of Fredericksburg and Danna Pancoast of Tulsa, Okla.; a son, Gene Pounds of Tulsa; a sister, Charlene Stevens of Frederick, Okla; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to American Heart Association. Josie Lott CHILDRESS - Josie Lott, 85, died Saturday, July 18, 1998. Mrs. Lott was born at Greenwood. A lifetime resident of the Childress area, she graduated from Community Center High School in 1929. She was a member of Childress Church of Christ. She married John Emery Lott in 1951 at Hollis, Okla. He died in 1972. Survivors include a stepson, Johnnie Lott of Childress; three stepdaughters, June Bassett of Yucca Valley, Calif., Creta Voyles of San Angelo and Ellen Graham of Childress; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Willie D. Brooks MEMPHIS - Willie D. Brooks, 68, died Thursday, July 16, 1998. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the New Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. R. H. Hamilton of Altus, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Memphis Funeral Home. Mrs. Brooks was born in Mount Enterprise, moving to Memphis in 1944. She was employed throughout her adult life as a private nurse. In 1950 she joined Mount Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Donald Ray Mason of Memphis, Albert Mason Jr. of Denver and Bobby Joe Mason of Amarillo; two daughters, Janie Marie Wysner of Amarillo and Marilyn Kay Knox of Memphis; a brother, L. James Phillips of Clarksville; and a sister, Minnie Mae Anderson of Memphis. Oma Schaffer PAMPA - Oma Schaffer, 80, died Saturday, July 18, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church of Groom with the Rev. Tom Moore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Jericho Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Schaffer was born in Gray County and grew up in the Groom area. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Groom. She was the church school superintendent, secretary of WSCS and secretary-treasurer of the Jericho Cemetery Association. She married Curtis Schaffer in 1935 in Gray County. He died in 1989. Survivors include a son, Bud Schaffer of Pampa; a daughter, Marlene Morgan of Pampa; two brothers, Bill McDowell of Lafayette, La., and Bob McDowell of Campbell; two sisters, Velma Jamison of Eugene, Ore., and Claudia Clayton of Cross Plains; eight grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until service time. The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church of Groom or to Hospice of the High Plains. Price Sandlin PADUCAH - Price Sandlin, 91, died Sunday, July 19, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Garden of Memories Cemetery with Dr. Tilden Armstrong, a retired minister of Paducah, officiating. Interment will be by Seigler Funeral Home. Mr. Sandlin was born at Mount Pleasant and moved to Cottle County in 1917. He lived in the Chalk Community. From 1943 until 1972 he was fire chief for the Paducah Fire Department. He worked for the Cottle County Sheriff's Department and as a dispatcher with the Fire Department until retiring at age 88. Mr. Sandlin was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He belonged to the First Christian Church. He married Ollie Grier in 1927 in Hill County. She died in 1980. Mr. Sandlin also was preceded in death by a son, Tom Sandlin, in 1983. Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Rushing and Carolyn Green, both of Duncan, Okla.; two brothers, Willard Sandlin of Carlsbad, N.M., and Eugene Sandlin of Corvallis, Ore.; two sisters, Essie Murray of Paducah and Opal Karas of Carlsbad; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Virgie Kay Moore MIAMI - Virgie Kay Moore, 66, died Saturday, July 18, 1998. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church of Miami with the Rev. Doug Yates, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene in Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Moore was born in Sublette, Kan. She owned and operated the Pak-aBurger No. 2 in Pampa for 17 years until moving to Miami in 1975. She married Carl Moore in 1970 at Borger. Survivors include her husband; a son, Roy Hoskinson of Tyrone, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Carletta "Gidget" Frazier of Justin and Gena Simpson of Las Vegas; her mother, Florence Drake of McLean; two brothers, Charles Moody Jr. of Asheville, Ohio, and Robert Moody of Sublette; three sisters, Fern Leamr of Lewisburg, Kan., Marie Santala of Satanta, Kan., and Janny Potter of Casper, Wyo.; two grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
