She retired in 1978 from Carson County Abstract Co. of Panhandle. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, 55 Plus Club, Ladies Golf Association and the Country Club. She married Harry Vance Sr. in 1942 at Panhandle. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Harry Vance Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska, Bill Vance of Fort Worth and Frank Vance of Panhandle; a daughter, Sharon Daughters of Panhandle; a brother, Ray Metcalf of Canyon; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She worked for the State Line Tribune at Farwell from October 1955 until May 1956, and for the Friona Star from May 1956 until June 1973. She continued to write a column and worked as a feature writer until a few weeks ago. Mrs. Copeland had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1930. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and a charter member of the Plains Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. He participated in the Normandy invasion. He married Bennie Pilgrim in 1945 at Spearman. Mr. Beeson was preceded in death by a stepson, Robert Long, and by a stepdaughter, Sue Kiss. Mrs. Zybach was born in Cripple Creek, Colo. She moved from Cripple Creek to the Zybach community in 1914. She graduated from Canadian High School. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church and the Wheeler County Home Demonstration Club. She also was active with the United Methodist Women of Briscoe and Allison. She married Clarence Zybach in 1925 at Wheeler. He died in 1992. Survivors include two sons, R.L. He was a former resident of Amarillo, where he worked at a Volkswagen dealership. While living in Bryan, he worked for C&L Tire Service. He lived in Tucumcari for many years. Mr. Arias was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Arias, in 1987. He pastored the First Baptist Church in Guymon for 20 years, and she was a Sunday school teacher and helped in all aspects of his ministry. Mr. Lee died in 1977. At the time of Mrs. Lee's death, she was a member of First Baptist Church at Hooker. Survivors include three sons, Dr. William Wallace Lee of Norman, the Rev. Ms. Pastorius was born in Jack County, Texas. She moved to New Mexico with her family in 1910 in a covered wagon, settling near Claude, N.M. She began working for local telephone offices in 1922. She moved to Albuquerque in 1935 and then to Los Angeles, where she worked as a telephone operator. She moved to Santa Fe in 1990 and to Clovis in 1995. Ms. Pastorius was Baptist. Survivors include two nieces, Betty Lovelace of Santa Fe and Etta Woodburn of Bent; and a nephew, Granice Johnson of Plainfield, N.J. Jessie J. Allen CLOVIS, N.M. - Jessie J. She had been a member of Central Baptist Church since 1951. She married Vaughn Allen in 1924 at Lockney. He died in 1994. She moved to Hope with her family in 1922. She married Raymon Walter Teel in 1935. They moved to the Bethel community in 1942 and to Portales in 1945. Since 1996, she had been living in Pampa, Texas. Mrs. Teel was a member of First United Methodist Church of Portales. She served in local and regional offices of the Women's Society of Christian Service. For many years, she was the secretary of the local chapter of the American Red Cross. She also was a Pink Lady at Roosevelt General Hospital. Survivors include three sons, Floyd Teel of Pampa, Dan Raymon Teel of Portales and Wiley Kenneth Teel of Albuquerque; a brother, Earl B. Mr. Wood was born in Tucumcari and graduated from Tucumcari High School in 1942. He lived in Panama for 14 years and was employed as a power plant operator. Since retiring 19 years ago, he had lived in Tucumcari. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Tucumcari and the Tucumcari Elks Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Ruby N. He was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 196 for more than 50 years. He was affiliated with the Living Waters Worship Center and had been a lifelong member of the Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Dora Belle Deatherage, in 1990. Survivors include two sisters, Gertrude Dewey of El Reno, Okla., and Ruth Glenn of Tulsa, Okla.
