Ford Velva L. "Nanny" Ford, 92, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Schooler Funeral Home Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St. with the Rev. Pat Ford, area director of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Ford was born in Creighton, Neb. She moved to Amarillo in 1925. She was a self-employed beautician, owning her own shop for 50 years. She was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church and of North Amarillo Garden Club. Mrs. Ford's husband, John Will Ford, preceded her in death in 1938. Survivors include a son, James T. Ford of Amarillo; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Bivins Memorial Nursing Home, 1001 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106. Winell Tipton Thomas Winell Tipton Thomas, 61, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery with Jackie Findley officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Mrs. Thomas was born in Farwell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She married Earl Thomas in 1966. He died in 1973. Survivors include four daughters, Rena Dunavin, Teena Prather, Jena Buchanan and Star Thomas, all of Amarillo; two sons, James Tipton and Robert Buchanan, both of Amarillo; five sisters, Odelia Henslee of Cherryville, Kan., Rosemary Britt of Salem, Ore., Marceline Schwalm of Hitchcock, and Nevada Smith and Ceta Miller, both of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Harriet R. Franklin Harriet R. Franklin, 79, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with Randy Davis, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park. Mrs. Franklin was born in Fond Du Lac, Wis. and moved to Amarillo in 1994 from Big Spring. She graduated from Howard County College in Big Spring with an associate degree in accounting. She was a homemaker and a member of Olsen Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Franklin married Elmer L. Franklin in 1950. Survivors include her husband; a son, K. W. Franklin of Amarillo; three daughters, Bernadette Schmitz of Ripon, Wis., Mary Ellen McLean of Euless and Prudie Childress of Florence, Miss.; three brothers, Harold Richter of Port Orange, Fla., Gerald Richter of Fond Du Lac and William Richter of Granbury; a sister, Marian Richter of Falls Church, Md.; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Paul E. Nagunst Paul E. Nagunst, 63, of Amarillo, died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Jackie Findley, pastor of Christian Lighthouse Center and Gary Ray, friend, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Nagunst was born in Humbolt, Neb. He moved to Amarillo 34 years ago from Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was an Army veteran and attended Christian Lighthouse Center. Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Weatherman of Amarillo and Becky Fox of Caracas, Venezuela; a son, Kenny Nagunst of Amarillo; two sisters, Florence Rosenberger of Hastings, Mich. and Elsie Bell of Iola, Kan.; a brother, Floyd Nagunst of Phoenix, Ariz.; and five grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center or to a favorite charity. Ethelene Kelley Smith Ethelene Kelley Smith, 75, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with Dr. Stan Coffey officiating. Mrs. Smith was born in Sayre, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1954 from Hereford. She graduated from Draughon's Business College and worked as a secretary for Furr Food Co. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. She was active in 4-H and PTA and the Amarillo Garden Center. She married Denham Loyd Smith in 1951 at Amarillo. He died in 1980. She also was preceded in death by a son, Billy Richard Reno, in 1950. Survivors include a daughter, Karen Reno of Amarillo; two brothers, Virgil Kelley and Douglas Kelley, both of Hereford; two sisters, Margaret Daniels of Hereford and Midge Kelley Reese of Herndon, Va.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Minnie McCaleb Minnie McCaleb, 89, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Llano Cemetery with Dick Marcear, minister of Central Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. McCaleb was born near Gainesville and had lived in Amarillo since 1944. She was a housewife and a member of Central Church of Christ. She married Alex Truman McCaleb in 1927 at Brownsville. He died in 1961. Survivors include four daughters, Joy Willingham of Amarillo, Judy Matney of Houston, Alexis Broadfoot and Sharon Elliott, both of Amarillo; a son, Dr. Morgan McCaleb of Amarillo; a sister, seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will be at 3502 Kileen. Janie G. Tuckness Janie G. Tuckness, 51, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. Larry York of Houston officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Tuckness was born in Wellington and grew up in Amarillo. She graduated from Amarillo High School, attended Amarillo College and San Angelo State University. Mrs. Tuckness was in sales and served on the Board of Realtors in San Angelo in 1981. She was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Mrs. Tuckness married Terry Wayne Tuckness in 1963. Survivors include her husband; her mother, Grace Gardner of Nashville, Tenn.; three daughters, Christy Fogleman of The Woodlands, Kari Wooley of Corpus Christi and K. C. Tuckness of Amarillo; a sister, Helen Ellis of Nashville; a brother, Bill Gardner of Austin; and two grandchildren. Elsewhere Herman Lee Brown ARLINGTON - Herman Lee Brown, 72, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Christ Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth. Burial will be in Moore Memorial Gardens at Arlington by Moore Funeral Home. Mr. Brown was born in Gilmer, Texas. He was in building maintenance. Mr. Brown married his wife, Ginny, 53 years ago. Survivors include his wife; a son, Scott Brown of Arlington; three daughters, Terri Jesko, Teddye Brown and Jackye Clark, all of Arlington; three brothers, Bird Allen Brown of Van and Donald Brown and Ronnie Brown, both of Amarillo; a sister, Lajuna Riggins of Cloud, Okla.; and a grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to H.O.P.E. Family, Inc. New Mexico Dorothy J. Hass CLOVIS, N.M. - Dorothy J. Hass, 79, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998. Private family graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Mission Garden of Memories. A memorial service for family and friends will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton with Dr. James Burke officiating. Mrs. Hass was a lifelong resident of Clovis and a member of Sandia Baptist Church. She married Clifford Hass in 1939. They worked in the service station business together for 46 years, retiring in 1981. Survivors include her niece, Lynda Milburn; and a brother, Bill Hazelwood of Colorado Springs, Colo. The family will be at 2413 Putnam Drive after the memorial service. Area Lewis Dale MULESHOE - Lewis Dale, 66, of Needmore, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Church of Christ with Curtis Shelburne, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Dale was born in Kelton. He moved to the Muleshoe area from Erick, Okla., in 1955 where he was a farmer and a director of the Bailey County Farm Bureau and the Bailey County Natural Resource Conservation Service. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Sharon Alexander in 1953 at Tucumcari, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Diane Skipworth of Muleshoe and Donita Hudgens of Haskell; two sisters, Janice Bass of Hart and Virginia Barrett of Needmore; and five grandchildren. Ebbie Mae Ivey CLARENDON - Ebbie Mae Ivey, 83, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, pastor of Martin Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery. Mrs. Ivey was born in Childress. She moved to Clarendon in 1981. She had been a resident of Pampa from 1960 until 1981. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married George Odis Ivey in 1932. He died in 1996. Survivors include three daughters, Rowena Duggan and Louise Mullins, both of Amarillo, and Patricia Trent of Clarendon; a son, Larry Odis Ivey of Clarendon; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Glenda Jean Wilson HALE CENTER - Glenda Jean Wilson, 35, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Lone Star Baptist Church with Claude Mullens of Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in Hale Center Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. Wilson was born in Plainview and was a longtime resident of Hale Center. She attended schools in Hale Center and graduated from Hale Center High School in 1981. She attended South Plains College for two years. She was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church. Survivors include her parents, Eddie Mae and Ernest Gene Wilson of Hale Center; a daughter, Vanise Jean Wilson of Hale Center; three brothers, Curtis Lee Smith and Charles D. Wilson, both of Abilene, and Kenneth Wilson of Beeville; and two sisters, Frances Smith of Denver and Linda Jones Wilson of Amarillo. Lupe M. Anguiano MEMPHIS - Lupe M. Anguiano, 66, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, at Snyder. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Brice Baptist Church at Brice with the Rev. L. Bennett officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery at Lakeview by Memphis Funeral Home. Mr. Anguiano was born in Pleasanton. He was a retired farm laborer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maria Montoya. He married Amelia Ocanas in 1987 at Childress. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Diane Martinez of Lakeview and Margaretta Fuentes of Snyder; two sons, Lupe Anguiano Jr. and Santos Anguiano, both of Lakeview; two sisters, Mary Villa of Snyder and Juanita Gutierrez of San Antonio; three brothers, Greg Anguiano of Robstown, Manuel Anguiano of Wimberly and Paul Anguiano of Grand Rapids, Mich.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First Bank of Trust in Memphis in Mr. Anguiano's name. The body will be available for viewing at Brice Baptist Church after noon today.
