Entombment will be in Llano Mausoleum by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Dean was born in Wellington, Mo. She moved with her parents to Claude in 1908 from Wellington. She had lived in Claude most of her life. She graduated from Claude High School and from Draughon's Business College in Amarillo. She worked as a secretary. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Church of Christ. She married Desmond E. Dean in 1929 at Pampa. He died in 1996. Survivors include a son, Dr. Garland Dean of Wichita Falls; a sister, Mildred Neely of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Carole Weatherley-Fleming Carole Weatherley-Fleming, 52, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Dr. Norman Grigsby of St. Paul United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation was by Memory Gardens Crematory. Mrs. Fleming was born in Newton, Kan. She graduated from Pampa High School in 1964 and attended West Texas State University. She lived in Friona for seven years before moving to Amarillo 20 years ago. She was a director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for 10 years before retiring. She was preceded in death by a son, Aaron David Weatherley, in 1988. Survivors include her husband, Paul Fleming; a daughter, Kassie Weatherley of Denver City; two stepdaughters, Christine Woods of Amarillo and Heather Goodman of Georgetown; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Davis, in 1991. Survivors include two sons, Eugene Gardner and Tarrence Gardner, both of Amarillo; four daughters, Janet Hollings, Jacquelin Gardner, Denise Allen and Ladonna Gardner, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Gladys Johnson of Oxnard, Calif., and Lessie Crosby of Waco; two stepsisters, Catherine Jones of Amarillo and Jerline Marshall of Lamesa; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Downing was born in Amarillo and had been a lifelong Amarillo resident. He was an insurance salesman and a painter. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Second Baptist Church. He married Pat Wilson in 1957 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Downing of Amarillo and Kenneth Ray Downing of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Gertrude Grimsley of Decatur; and a granddaughter. She moved to Amarillo more than 40 years ago. She was a demonstrator at Sam's Club for more than six years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Boggs, in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Boggs of Wheeler; a son, Jimmy Toniolli of Amarillo; a sister, Jessie Bagwell of Wichita Falls; a brother, Gene Green of El Paso; and four grandchildren. Cavanaugh Butler, 85, of 313 Sunset Terrace, died Friday, March 20, 1998. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. George's Episcopal Church in Canyon with the Rev. John Githiga of the church officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Dallas. She moved to Amarillo four years ago from Dallas, having lived there for 50 years. She married James J. Butler in 1937 at Montgomery. He died in 1987. She was a charter member of the Lazy Susan Garden Club. She was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Canyon and a past member of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas. Survivors include a daughter, Judith Evans of Amarillo; a son, Jeff Butler of Dallas; five grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. The family will be at 313 Sunset Terrace. New Mexico O'Leta Rhinehart Hagens CLOVIS, N.M. - O'Leta Rhinehart Hagens, 82, died Thursday, March 19, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Bunch officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hagens was born in Matay, Okla. During World War II, she worked in Washington, D.C., for Senator Hatch and the National Democratic Community. She moved to California and was a screenwriter for Republic Studios. Mrs. Hagens had been a longtime Clovis resident, moving from New York. She volunteered many years for the Clovis Library and the local Democratic party. She was a contributor to the Clovis Community College Museum. She married William Hagens in 1949 in California. He died in 1979. Survivors include two sisters, Gwen Williams of Clovis and Joyce Hammonds of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. The family will be at 1012 Colonial Parkway. Lorene Henry HOUSE, N.M. - Lorene "Rene" Henry, 81, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, in Albuquerque. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in House United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sherman Martin and the Rev. Kevin Bushart officiating. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Henry was born in Dodsonville, Texas, and had been a longtime resident of the House community. She was a member of House United Methodist Church and was active in the community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Henry; and by two sons, Darrell Henry and Dennis Henry. Survivors include a daughter, Merlene Waldon of Mountainair; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Charles Valmore Coulter CLAYTON, N.M. - Charles Valmore "Bill" Coulter, 87, died Thursday, March 19, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Seventh-day Adventist Church with Elder Ed Motschiedler and Pastor Melvin Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Texline Cemetery at Texline, Texas. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Coulter was born in Sandusky, Ill. He was raised in Oblong, Ill., where he graduated from high school in 1928. He delivered mail in Oblong before moving to New Mexico in 1930. He married Bonneetah Weishaar in 1936 at Abbot. They farmed and ranched near Farley until 1955. Since 1955, they had farmed and ranched in the Texline area. Mr. Coulter became a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1931. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Henry Coulter, in 1964. Survivors include his wife of Texline; two sons, Ron W. Coulter and Lloyd V. Coulter, both of Texline; two daughters, Valeetah Motschiedler of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Janeece Jung of Colton, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren. Elsewhere Ethel Gertrude Dipprey LITTLEFIELD - Ethel Gertrude Dipprey, 87, of Lubbock, formerly of Littlefield, died Thursday, March 19, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hammons Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Joe Hebel, a Baptist minister from Paducah, Ky., officiating. Burial will be in Littlefield Cemetery by Hammons Funeral Home. Mrs. Dipprey was born in Vanoss, Okla. She was employed as a supervisor at Lamb County Cannery from 1943 until it closed in 1946. She then worked as a cook at Clint's Cafe in Littlefield for 20 years. She also worked at other Littlefield restaurants for several years before retiring in 1973. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband, Dave Dipprey, preceded her in death in 1961. Survivors include four daughters, Edith Briton of Amarillo, Alice Hebel of Paducah, Frankie Marsh of Fort Worth and Juanelle Elliott of Lubbock; a brother, Fred Owens of Amarillo; a sister, Esta Reel of Longview; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild.
