Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Methodist Church with the Rev. John Dorn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hofmann was born in Duster and moved to Shamrock in 1927. She taught school for the Shamrock Independent School District for the first two years she lived there. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hofmann was a member of the United Methodist Women and served as a local and district officer. She taught King's Daughter Sunday School class for 30 years. She was a member of Times Study Club, Shamrock Garden Club, Pioneer Club and the Needlecraft Club. She worked for the Parent Teacher Association of Shamrock for many years. She married Ernest Clifford Hofmann in 1929 at Shamrock. He died in 1982. She was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter and a son, Tommie Hofmann, in 1993. Survivors include a son, Fred Hofmann of Shamrock; two daughters, MaryLu Smithson of Dimmitt and Ernestine Moore of Shawnee, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First United Methodist Church or a favorite charity. Geneva Folks Jarvis STINNETT - Geneva Folks Jarvis, 75, died Friday, March 20, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Stinnett Church of Christ with Zeb Sailors, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Eastlawn Garden of Highland Park Cemetery in Borger by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Jarvis was born in Athens, Ark., and had been a resident of Stinnett for 30 years. She had been employed as a waitress in many Borger restaurants. She retired as a manager of a Laundromat. She was a member of Stinnett Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Ralph; three sons, Mac Davis of California, Doyle Tollett of Amarillo and Edwin Folks of Camdenton, Mo.; two daughters, Laverne Nickerson of Anderson, Calif., and Paula Folks of Stinnett; three brothers, Zeke Golden, Floyd Golden and Earl Golden, all of Dierks, Ark.; and seven grandchildren. The family will be at 204 Allen St., in Stinnett. Ruth Jennings Hill SPEARMAN - Ruth Jennings Hill, 91, died Saturday, March 21, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Hansford Cemetery with the Rev. Joseph Weaks of First Christian Church officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mrs. Hill was born in Canyon and was a long time resident of Spearman. She was a member of First Christian Church where she was active in all areas including the Christian Women's Fellowship. She also was a member of Delphinium Flower Club and Blue Monday Bridge Club. She married Vester P. Hill in 1926 at Canyon. He died in 1972. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Hill of Angel Fire, N.M.; a son, Joe Mack Hill of Abilene, a brother, Jack Jennings of Canyon; a sister, Kathleen Hagood of Floydada; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to First Christian Church Building Fund or Hansford Hospice. John Nelson Reeves TULIA - John Nelson Reeves, 56, died Saturday, March 21, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Central Church of Christ with Trey Morgan, minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mr. Reeves was born in San Saba. He moved to Tulia at an early age and graduated from Tulia High School. He was employed as a truck driver and custom harvester. He was a member of Central Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Tonya Jeter of Madisonville; a stepdaughter, Anna Richardson of Phoenix; a sister, Jean Inman of San Antonio; and five grandchildren. Mildred Allene Fleming PLAINVIEW - Mildred Allene Fleming, 77, died Sunday, March 22, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ with Mike Prather, minister, and Ralph Beistle, retired minister of Kress Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Fleming graduated from Plainview High School. She retired as bookkeeper from Charles Lawson, Inc. of Kress. She was a member of Ninth and Columbia Church of Christ, the Lacasa Club and a life member of Kress Study Club. She married Charles Agnew Fleming Jr. in 1945 at Plainview. He died in 1984. Survivors include two daughters, Donna Barbour of Amarillo and Carolyn McDonald of Plainview; a sister, Lorine Bryan of Hale Center; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services were at 3 p.m. Sunday in First Christian Church in Memphis with Tom Posey, retired minister, and the Rev. Bob Reid, pastor of Travis Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mrs. Liner was born in Grannis, Ark., and moved to Lillie Community of Collingsworth County in 1928. She graduated from Quail High School in 1945. She moved to Memphis in 1955. She was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church. She married Richard Liner in 1959 at Memphis. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mike Liner of Lubbock and Chris Liner of Memphis; a daughter, Kelli Wright of Dallas; four sisters, Rebbie Snider of Wellington, Leitha Brownlee of Amarillo and Irene Barth and Janie Lowe, both of Shamrock; 13 grandchildren; and 2 great-granddaughters. The family requests memorials be to First Christian Church. Homer T. McMinn CHILDRESS - Homer T. McMinn, 84, died Sunday, March 22, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Childress Church of Christ with Bill Mayes of the church officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home of Childress. Mr. McMinn was born in Childress County and a lifetime Childress resident. He had the John Deere dealership for 20 years. In 1980, he retired from Childress Tractor Co., and also was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Ruth Stepp in 1935 at Quanah. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, June Bailey of Amarillo; a son, Jan McMinn of Houston; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Amarillo Jerry Michael McGinnis Jr. Jerry Michael "Mike" McGinnis Jr., 36, formerly of Amarillo and Pampa, died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, in Las Vegas, Nev. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street with the Rev. Jim Smith of St. Stephen United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation was by Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. McGinnis was born and raised in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1979. He was active in the Amarillo Emergency Services and was employed as a manager for Furr's Cafeteria and Dyer's Bar-B-Que in Pampa. In Amarillo, he also worked for several television and radio stations. Mr. McGinnis moved to Las Vegas in October 1997. He was employed as regional sales director for Ameriplan and was laboratory manager for Cashman Photography. He was a member of Universalist Unitarian Church. Survivors include his fiancee, Lorna Heare; a daughter, Shea McGinnis of Amarillo; a son, Wrather McGinnis of Amarillo; a stepson, Jake Heare of Las Vegas; a stepdaughter, Lydia Heare of Las Vegas; his parents, Jerry and June McGinnis of Amarillo; a brother, Mark McGinnis of Amarillo; and his grandmother, Mrs. H.R. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls. Survivors include two sons, Richard Neal of El Paso and James Neal of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Olen E. Phillips Olen E. Phillips, 90, of Amarillo, died Saturday, March 21, 1998. Mr. Phillips was born in Quanah. He moved to Amarillo 38 years ago from Childress. He was employed as foreman in the Amarillo College physical plant maintenance department from 1961 until his retirement in 1972. He was a member of Second Baptist Church. He married Christine Lumpkin in 1935 at Acme. She died in 1994. He also was preceded in death by a son, Donald Phillips, in 1987. Survivors include two sons, Darryl Phillips of Austin and Mike E. Mr. Boylan was born in Chicago. He was employed as a supervisor in the water department of the City of Chicago for 21 years then was a salesman for American Airlines for 20 years. He was a member of the Scottish Society, Plumbers Union Local No. 130, Beverly Hills Historical Society and St. Mary's Catholic Church. He married Marie Leonhardt in 1936 at Washington, D.C. She died in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Diane B. Ryan of Salt Lake City and Mary Ann Richards of Amarillo; two sons, Hugh S. Boylan Jr. of Plano and Michael E. Moss and Jean Moss, all of Amarillo. The family will receive friends at 7052 Westbury. Kerry Owens Kerry Owens, 47, of Amarillo, died Friday, March 20, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth Ave., with the Rev. Claud Tugwell officiating. Mr. Owens was born in Amarillo. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He served from 1968 until 1971. Survivors include two sons, Dakin Owens and Aadrane Owens, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Alethea Owens of Kansas City, Kan.; his parents, Wanda Owens and LeRoy Owens, both of Amarillo; a sister, Karen Owens of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. The family will be at 1316 Withers. Elsewhere Vic Wit DALLAS - Vic Wit, 63, died Saturday, March 21, 1998. Services will be at noon Tuesday in Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel in Dallas. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mr. Wit was born in Lamar, Mo. He lived in Canadian and graduated from Canadian High School in 1952. He was formerly employed by Pantex in Amarillo and Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory in Los Alamos, N.M. Mr. Wit was a principal of Hunt & Joiner, Inc. of Dallas. He received many awards for his structural designs. He was a member of Dallas Executive Association, Consulting Engineers Council, First Baptist Church and a board member of the Hitech Institute in Phoenix. Survivors include his wife, Donna; two daughters, Teri Bailey and Diana Laquey, both of Dallas; two sisters, Margaret Wit of Fort Worth and Wilma Wit of Amarillo; and six grandchildren.
