Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Chapel at Trinity Fellowship Church with Phil Mercado, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. Mr. Draper was born in Norman, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1965. He worked for Team Bank as a maintenance engineer supervisor for 12 years and was an Army veteran. He married Kay Bintliff in 1985. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Nita Fisher and Denise Castillo, both of Amarillo; three sons, Loyd James Draper Jr., Daryl Bintliff and Kenneth Bintliff, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Billie Manning and Lois Riggle, both of Norman; two brothers, Gene Draper and Clark Draper, both of Norman; 16 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will be at 13101 Bell St. Gary Brumm Gary Brumm, 36, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Claud Tugwell officiating. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home, 1010 W. Ninth. Mr. Brumm was born in Escondido, Calif. In 1988, he moved to Amarillo from California. He was roofing foreman for CS Construction. Survivors include a son, James Gary Brumm of California; a daughter, Shari Nicole Brumm of California; a brother, Bobby Kincaid of Amarillo; three sisters, Jeannette Stebelton of Chatham, Mich., Annette Brumm of Au Train, Mich., and Lori Wolf of Amarillo; his mother, Nancy Brumm of Chatham; his father, Norman Brumm of Amarillo; and his grandparents, George Martz of Hastings, Mich., Lois Maddox of White Cloud, Mich. and Iona Brumm of Mansfield. Roy Lynn Burk Pool Roy Lynn Burk Pool, 44, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1998. In 1973, she graduated from Palo Duro High School and then attended Amarillo College. She was an insurance clerk for Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and a member of First Baptist Church in Canyon. George Dewey Brown Jr. George Dewey Brown Jr., 70, of Amarillo, died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. Ken Keller of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rick D. Mathis, minister of West Amarillo Christian Church, officiating and military rites by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 26. Mr. Brown was born in Manistique, Mich. He moved to Amarillo in 1972 from Orange County, Calif. In 1989, he retired as a mechanic for Bell Helicopter. He was a member of the Moose Lodge No. 1361. He married Mary Eloise Coronado in 1950 at Mexicali, Mexico. She preceded him in death in 1994. Survivors include five sons, Galen D. Brown of Clarksville, Tenn., and Darrell R. Brown, George D. "Boots" Pinkston, 78, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Melrose Church of Christ with David Studer, Raymond Copeland and Shawn Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis. Mr. Pinkston was born in Oplin, Texas, and lived in Melrose most of his life. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941. After serving in North Africa, Italy and Sicily with the 8th Air Force 34th Service Group, he was transferred to the 15th Air Force 558th Squadron. He earned a Bronze Star. He received an honorable discharge after serving almost four years overseas, returning home in 1945. He was a metal art workman. He married Mary Lou Bright in 1945. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Pinkston. Survivors include his wife; a son, Allen Pinkston of Melrose; a daughter, Becky Hagee of Amarillo; a sister, Audrey Widner of Melrose; a brother, Melvin Pinkston of Whitesboro, Texas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Robert Earl Pruitt TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Robert Earl Pruitt, 40, died Friday, Sept. 18, 1998 in Albuquerque. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Temple Baptist Church followed by burial in the family plot in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Pruitt was born in Tucumcari and lived in Albuquerque for several years before recently returning to Tucumcari. He had served in the Marine Corps and was self-employed as an auto mechanic. In Tucumcari, he attended the Temple Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Lori Pruitt of Tucumcari; a son, Bobby Pruitt of Tucumcari; his mother, Effie Pruitt of Tucumcari; four brothers, Billy Pruitt, Donnie Pruitt and Samuel Pruitt, all of Tucumcari, and Danny Pruitt of Alabama; four sisters, Glenda Pruitt of Tucumcari, Kathy Mason of Alabama, Jeannie Nord of Borger, Texas, and Penny Pruitt of Sayer, Okla. Oklahoma Jack Bailey GOODWELL, Okla. - Jack Bailey, 70, died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Goodwell Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Patterson of the New Life Baptist Church of Newalla officiating. Burial will be in Goodwell Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mr. Bailey was born in Muskogee. He started violin lessons at age 6 and his professional career as a musician at 16 working with Jack Beasley on KOMA radio. He was an Army veteran of World War II. In 1947, Mr. Bailey worked on KWKH radio station with "Pop" Echols and the Melody Ranch Boys. In the 1950s, he went to Gallup, N.M., with the Benny Martin band, which was featured in two movies. He later joined Merle Lindsey and the Oklahoma Night Riders, later known as the Ozark Jubilee Band, with Red Foley. Mr. Bailey toured with Pee Wee King in 1956 as well as with Little Jimmie Dickens, the Wilburn Brothers, Minnie Pearl and others. He backed Lefty Frizzell, Ernest Tubb and Ray Price. For almost 25 years, he teamed with Frankie McWhorter and the Over The Hill Gang performing at Bob Wills Day in Turkey, Texas. They also were featured at the first two years of the Cowboy Symposium in Ruidoso, N.M. In 1963, Mr. Bailey graduated from Panhandle State University with a degree in music. He taught music in public schools for 11 years, gave private music lessons and established the Malachi Recording Studio in Goodwell. In 1997, he was inducted into the Western Swing Society Hall of Fame. Mr. Bailey was a member of the Goodwell Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He also was a member of the Panhandle Lions Club and the Musicians Union. He married Sue Murphy in 1957 at Goodwell. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rebecca Bailey of Midland, Texas; and a son, Robert Eugene Bailey of Pampa, Texas. The family suggests memorials be to the Goodwell Baptist Church, P.O. Shirley Irene Castor GUYMON, Okla. - Shirley Irene Castor, 58, a former Gruver, Texas, resident, died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Christian Church at Gruver with the Rev. Gary Gumfory, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Castor was born in Guymon and raised in Gruver. She attended Gruver schools. She married Jimmy R. Castor in 1958 at Guymon. They made their home in Gruver until 1991 when they moved to Guymon. She was a member of First Christian Church at Gruver. She was preceded in death by an infant son. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kelly Rose Keenan of Guymon; three sons, Russ Castor of Guymon, Kirt Castor and Kent Castor, both of Fort Worth; two sisters, Georgie Parker of Fort Worth and Bonnie Gross of Saginaw, Texas; two brothers, Kenny Bratton of Gruver and Virgil Bratton of Lubbock, Texas; and eight grandchildren. Area Ann J. Wilson DUMAS - Ann J. Wilson, 87, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Dumas Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Holm, associate pastor of Dumas Christian Center, officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Wilson was born in McPherson, Kan. She moved to Dumas in 1960 from Wichita, Kan. She was a homemaker and a Lutheran. She married Floyd L. Wilson in 1960 at New Mexico. He died in 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Tanya Cadena of Wichita and Kayla Patterson of Dumas; a son, Gary Callery of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren. The family will be at 300 N. Porter in Dumas. Mary Grace Elkins CHILDRESS - Mary Grace Elkins, 88, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Childress Church of Christ with Doyle Wells of Lake Charles, La., and Bill Mayes of Childress officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Elkins was born in Comanche, Okla. For 72 years, she was a member of the Childress Church of Christ. She was a member of the Burlington Club and the Childress Home Demonstration Club. She was a homemaker and LVN for Childress General Hospital. She married Lonnie Elkins in 1926 at Childress. Survivors include her husband; a son, Lon Ray Elkins of Caldwell; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. James Buckles FRITCH - James "Dick" Buckles, 60, of Fort Collins, Colo., died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Westlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Trey Robertson, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church of Fritch, officiating. Arrangements are by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Buckles was born in Elgin, Okla., and was a former resident of Fritch. He graduated from Phillips High School in 1955. He retired as a welder and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Fritch. Survivors include two sons, Joe Dale Buckles and Timothy Buckles, both of Loveland, Colo.; a daughter, Julie Burcham of Fort Collins; his mother and stepfather, Merle and Clay Ross of Fritch; two brothers, Glen Buckles of Borger and Johnny Buckles of Longmont, Colo.; two stepbrothers, David Ross of Crowley and Dennis Ross of Garland; two sisters, Marilyn Walker of Dumas and Linda Ann West of Norman, Okla.; and five grandchildren. Wilma Alsip Harris BORGER - Wilma Alsip Harris, 86, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Brad Foster, pastor of Lake Meredith Baptist Church of Fritch, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Devotion in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Harris was born in Olive, Okla., and moved to Borger in 1928. During the Depression, she was employed by the WPA. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of God. She married Tom C. Harris in the 1940s at Borger. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994 and by a daughter, Tommie Sue Harris, in 1993. Survivors include two daughters, Lynn H. Harris and Jean Aranda, both of Borger; six grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. Clara Eunice Kelley Neis PLAINVIEW - Clara Eunice Kelley Neis, 91, died Saturday, Sept. 19, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by WoodDunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Neis was born in Rucker. She finished high school in 1924 and attended National Business College in Abilene. In 1926, she moved to Plainview. During her career in Plainview, Mrs. Neis worked at the Third National Bank, Plainview Chamber of Commerce, Hale County ASCS office, Herbert Dysart and the Great Southern Life Insurance and for Sam Curry. She was associated with the Roberts Companies for 51 years. In 1989, Mrs. Neis was named Pioneer Woman of the Plains. She had been a member and president of the Business and Professional Women's Club. She also was a member of Hale County Historical Commission, Las Camaradas Club, Beta Delphin Study Club, the Woman's Club of Plainview and Insurance Women of Plainview. She had been a member of First Baptist Church for 72 years. She married Harold Neis in 1938 at Plainview. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Richard Neis, in 1947 and by her husband in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Nelia Ann Garner of Saratoga, Calif.; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Eugene Calvin Prosser SPEARMAN - Eugene Calvin Prosser, 69, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 1998. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Hansford Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Prosser was born in Chicago and lived there until moving to Spearman four years ago. He retired as an electrician for the city of Chicago. He was a Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Lee Roy Taylor VEGA - Lee Roy Taylor, 79, died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church of Vega with the Rev. James Peach, pastor, and the Rev. Mark Phillips, pastor of Vega United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega by Vega Funeral Home. Mr. Taylor was born in Chicago and had lived in Vega since 1936. He was a graduate of Vega High School. He served with the Army for five years during World War II where he was stationed for 32 months in India with the Third Air Depot. Since the war, Mr. Taylor had been involved in farming and ranching. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Vega, American Legion Havens Post No. 168 and the Masonic Lodge No. 899. He married Evelyn Wiseman in 1940 at Dumas. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wayne Taylor of Vega and Don Taylor of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
