Homer PAMPA - Patricia C. Homer, 76, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church by the Rev. John Valdez, pastor, and Monsignor Kevin Hand, of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of White Deer. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Homer was born in Tucumcari, N.M. She was a graduate of Loretto High School in El Paso and attended St. Mary's College at Notre Dame. She married H.J. "Hub" Homer in 1947 at Tucumcari. They moved to Pampa in 1957 from Hereford. She worked as a teller in banks in El Paso, Hereford, and Roswell, N.M., and Tucumcari, N.M. She kept books for the family business of Hub's Bootery in Pampa. Survivors include her husband; a son, Patrick T. Homer of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two daughters, Paula N. Homer of Denton and Pam E. Homer of Albuquerque, N.M. The family requests memorials be to Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund; St. Ann's Nursing Home in Panhandle; or the Abraham Nursing Home in Canadian. Victoria Soto Rivera DUMAS - Victoria Soto Rivera, 63, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Sts. Peter and Paul by the Rev. Arturo Meza of St. Laurance Cathedral in Amarillo. Burial will be in the Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Rivera was born in Austin and had lived in Moore County since 1974. She was a homemaker and a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She married Reyes Rivera in 1955 at Post. She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Ray Rivera in 1988. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Narciso Rivera of Amarillo, Alex S. Rivera of Dumas and Reyes A. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Lipscomb County by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Scheer was born in Packard, Wash. He moved to the area in 1933 from Rocky Ford, Colo. He was a farmer, a DeKalb Seed dealer and a former Follett school board member. He was a member of St. John's Congregational Church. He married Annie Yauck in 1939 at Follett. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Scheer of Follett; a daughter, Lois Laubhan of Canadian; three brothers, John Scheer of Elmhurst, Ill., and Paul Scheer and Silas Scheer, both of Dallas; a sister, Rosalie Schaible of Mott, N.M.; and four grandchildren. He is survived by his parents; and three sisters, Brenda, Buticia and Bresndia Gallegos, all of the home. Kit Stallings FRITCH - Kit Stallings, 77, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Westlawn Memorial Park followed by memorial services at 11 a.m. in Faith Covenant Church with the Rev. Ken Sheppard, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Love by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Stallings was born in Fort Worth. In 1946, she moved to Hutchinson County from Baltimore, Md. She was a homemaker and member of Faith Covenant Church, Jane Phillips sorority, Women of the Rotary and Daughters of the American Revolution. She married P.S. "Jack" Stallings in 1939 at Fort Worth. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Patrick Stallings Sr., of Austin and John Stallings of Fritch; two daughters, Kathryn VanZyl of Bogota, Columbia, and Mary Braddick of Houston; a sister, Ruelle Hawkins of Houston; and nine grandchildren. Mina Elizabeth Horn BOVINA - Mina Elizabeth Horn, 77, of Round Rock, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church in Bovina with the Rev. Gary Morgan, pastor, and the Rev. J.L. Bass of Brownwood, officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mrs. Horn was born in Blossom. A homemaker, she lived in Bovina from 1953 until 1989 when she moved to Crosbyton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Crosbyton. She moved to Round Rock in 1991. She married Johnie Horn in 1938 at Crosbyton. He died in 1976. Survivors include three sons, Ken Horn and Richard Horn, both of Austin, and Johnie Horn of Tucson, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren. Cecil Cox LOCKNEY - Cecil Cox, 88, of Plainview, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in West College and Third Street Church of Christ in Lockney with Frank Duckworth, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Moore-RoseWhite Funeral Home of Lockney. Mr. Cox was born in Hale County and attended school in Eastmound community. A farmer, he was a member of the Aiken Baptist Church in Aiken and the Plainview Elk's Club. He married Mrs. Denvis Martine Cox in 1931 at Altus, Okla. She died in 1992. Survivors include three sons, Bobby G. Cox of Plainview, Tom W. Cox of Duncanville and W. H.G. Boyles QUITAQUE - H.G. Boyles, 70, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Resthaven Cemetery with Elgin Conner of Levelland officiating. Arrangements are by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Quitaque. Mr. Boyles was born and raised in Quitaque where he graduated from high school. He owned and operated Boyles Oil Company for many years. He married Joyce in 1947 at Silverton. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1976 and by a daughter, Elaine Boyles, in 1978. Survivors include a daughter, Jana Boyles of Quitaque; a son, Bob Boyles of San Angelo; a brother, J.W. Boyles of Buffalo, Wyo.; four sisters, Ethylene McCay and Willie Mae Bonner, both of Amarillo, Jewell Mayfield of Lubbock and Mary Lee Watters of Silverton; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Amarillo Mrs. B.P. Brents Mrs. B.P. (Frieda) Brents, 91, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Brents moved to Amarillo in 1940. She was a teacher and taught school in Shamrock and Wellington. She also had worked for Blackburn-Shaw for 18 years as an accountant / bookkeeper from 1947 until retiring in 1965. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She married B.P. Brents in 1929 at Wellington. He died in 1991. Survivors include a brother, T.W. Wright Jr. of Fort Worth; and a nephew, Kevin Wright of Binghampton, N.Y. Wayne Gore Wayne Gore, 63, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, 2100 N. Coulter, with John Hunt, bishop, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Gore was born in Las Animas, Colo. He served in the National Guard and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For 40 years, Mr. Gore was a meter inspector for the Colorado Interstate Gas Co. He moved to Amarillo in 1972 from Liberal, Kan. He married Temple Ferguson in 1955 at Dalhart. Survivors include his wife; a son, Wes Gore of Amarillo; two daughters, Carlene Pierce of Arlington, Wash., and Cindy Cook of Brunswick, Ga.; his mother, Grace Stoddard of Hermiston, Ore.; a brother, Jim Gore of Mabton, Wash.; and 12 grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice or Muscular Dystrophy Association. Susie Roper Susie Roper, 60, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation will be by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors. Mrs. Roper was born in Joplin, Mo., and had lived in Amarillo most of her life. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 1475 and military order of Cooties Auxiliary. For eight years, she was a bartender at the VFW. Survivors include her daughter, Pattie Horn of Abilene; a son, Marty Jordan of Arkansas; her mother, Elva Jo Gore of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Panhandle AIDS Support Organization (PASO) or Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. The body will not be available for viewing. Eddy Weatherman Eddy Weatherman, 48, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Gary Hager of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints officiating. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth. A longtime Amarillo resident, Mr. Weatherman was born in Hughes Springs. He attended Tascosa High School and was a member of the Amarillo Hockey Association. He was past trainer at Golds Gym and worked the scoreboard at the Amarillo Rattlers hockey games. Survivors include three sons, David Weatherman, Scott Weatherman and Joseph Weatherman, all of Amarillo; three daughters, Andrea Weatherman, Karen Weatherman and Andromeda Weatherman, all of Amarillo; his mother, Alta Weatherman of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. Gollihugh, 69, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Randy Sessions, pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. An Amarillo resident since 1949, Mr. Gollihugh was born in Collingsworth County and moved here from Quail. He retired in 1991 as a truck driver for Yellow Freight. He was a member of the Teamsters Union. He married Alma Christian in 1951 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Barry Gollihugh of Sherman and Randy Gollihugh and Bobby Gollihugh, both of Amarillo; seven daughters, Paula Melton of Red Oak, Cathy Rasnake of Maiden, N.C., Sharon Boyd of Tishomingo, Okla., and Brenda Mulanax, Patricia Shea, Mary Gollihugh and Anita Acklin, all of Amarillo; three brothers, Evon Gollihugh of Amarillo and Larry Gollihugh and Paul Gollihugh, both of Wellington; two sisters, Betty Howard of Wheeler and Peggy Vernon of Wellington; 16 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society. Oklahoma Mary Jean Smith CORDELL, Okla. - Mary Jean Smith, 71, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 1998. Services were at 3 p.m. Saturday in Northside Church of Christ at Cordell with H.L. Shirey, minister, officiating. Burial was in Lawnview Cemetery by Jack Loftiss Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was born and raised in Cordell, where she graduated from high school in 1946. She was employed by Darwin Craig Hardware and then was elected city clerk and held that position for 28 years. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ. She married Ancil Smith in 1945 at Cordell. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Larry Wayne Smith of Amarillo; a daughter, Carolyn Lee Zienta of Dallas; two sisters, June Dalke and Bernadine Russell, both of Cordell; and three grandchildren. New Mexico Minnie Fulgham ST. VRAIN, N.M. - Minnie Fulgham, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 1998. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Melrose Cemetery at Melrose with the Rev. Kevin Bushart officiating. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Fulgham was born in Texas and had lived in St. Vrain since 1962. She married Frank Fulgham in 1944 at Clovis. He died in 1996. Survivors include two sons, Buddy Fulgham of Portales and Dewayne Fulgham of Albuquerque; two sisters, Mae Moore and Mildred Teeters, both of Clovis; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
