Mrs. Feland was born and raised in the Floyd community. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Melrose. She married John L. Feland in 1933 at Clovis. He died in 1984. Survivors include three sons, Carol Feland of Amarillo, and Dyrle Wayne Feland and Calvin Feland, both of Floyd; three daughters, Ruby Burden, Odena Turner and Ruth Johnson, all of Portales; a brother, Hubert Hawkins of Santa Clara, Calif.; two sisters, Blanche Price of Portales and Imogene Nixon of Hermleigh, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 20 greatgrandchildren. Thomas Alvin Landers CLAYTON, N.M. - Thomas Alvin Landers, 71, died Wednesday, April 22, 1998. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Milford Nelson officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Landers was born in Quanah, Texas. He graduated in 1944 from Phillips High School at Phillips, Texas. He served during World War II with the Marines. He worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. until 1960 then worked for Tindels Cooling Tower Co., until 1975 when he became a self employed carpenter. Mr. Landers was a member of the Jehovah's Witness and served as a local minister as a ministerial servant about 12 years. He also served as a full-time evangelist for eight years in and around the rural Clayton area. He married Billie Faye Stockman in 1947 at Sayre, Okla. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Georgia Collins. Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Herbert Willis of Georgia and Ronnie York of California; two sisters, Peggy Blaine of Houston, Texas, and Sammie Ross of Arizona; two brothers, Jerry Landers of Broken Bow, Okla., and Tony Landers of Stinnett, Texas; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren. Wyona Henry Raines CLAYTON, N.M. - Wyona Henry Raines, 84, died Friday, April 24, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mrs. Raines was born in Apache Valley, Union County and was a long time resident of Clayton. She graduated from Clayton High School in 1931. She had been employed for 22 years until 1984 by Sleepy's Ben Franklin Store. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Clayton High School Reunion Association. She married William Amos Raines in 1936 at Clayton. He died in 1956. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Ann Sears, and a son, Bill Raines. Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Skiles of Clayton; a son, Jack Raines of Albuquerque; four brothers, Elwin Henry and Claude Henry, both of Albuquerque, DeLois Henry of Longview, Texas, and Don Henry of Roswell; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Loren Littlefield, 55, died Friday, April 24, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Dean Turvaville and Scott P. Reeves officiating. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Littlefield was born in Vallejo, Calif., and moved to Arkansas as a small child. In 1957, the family moved to Floyd where he attended Floyd High School. He was a veteran of the Navy. After his discharge, he returned to Floyd where he was a farmer, diesel mechanic and truck driver. He moved to Vallejo in 1971 then returned to Portales in 1973. He moved to Vallejo in 1976 then lived in Hobbs from 1978 until 1984 where he was a shop foreman for a trucking company. Mr. Littlefield had lived in Portales since 1984. He retired in 1995 as a truck driver and mechanic. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Clovis. He married his second wife, Glenda Grimes, in 1964 at Portales. His first marriage was to Linda Jo Jones. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Robert Littlefield of Las Vegas, Royce Littlefield and Phillip Littlefield, both of Portales; his mother, Ina Littlefield of Portales; two sisters, Dana Pergeson of Portales and Nona McCaig of Hobbs; and six grandchildren. Elsewhere Dr. Hollis L. Cook NACOGDOCHES - Dr. Hollis L. Cook, 85, died Thursday, April 23, 1998. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Cason Monk-Metcalf Sunset Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Neel officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Dr. Cook was born in Calera, Ala. He had been a resident of Nacogdoches since 1978. He was a 1930 graduate of Montevale High School and a 1933 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University. He received a fellowship to Texas A&M University, earning his master's degree in mathematics in 1935. He then became principal of Corrigan High School. Dr. Cook received his doctorate in mathematics from George Peabody-Vanderbilt University in 1951. He taught math at Edinburgh Junior College, Auburn University, Georgia Tech, University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Troy State University. He also taught at West Texas State University, where he chaired the mathematics department for 22 years. In addition to teaching and working as an industrial engineer, Dr. Cook was a research mathematician for the Guided Missile Division of the Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. Dr. Cook was selected Outstanding Professor of the Year in 1967 and was awarded Professor Emeritus in Mathematics at WTSU by the Texas A&M University Board of Regents in 1992. At his retirement from WTSU in 1977, a scholarship was set up in his name to support a master's degree mathematics major. Dr. Cook established the M.S. in mathematics at WTSU and also was awarded $500,000 of grant money through the National Science Foundation Grant Program. Dr. Cook was a member of First United Methodist Church in Nacogdoches. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Emma Arnwine Cook, in 1983. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Morris Cook; a son, Randy Cook of San Marcos; a stepdaughter, Elaine Morris; and four grandchildren. Oklahoma Lola F. Brooks GUYMON, Okla. - Lola F. Brooks, 94, died Wednesday, April 22, 1998, in Elkhart, Kan. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chafin officiating. Burial for the family will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Arrangements are by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Brooks was born in Clarendon, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years. She married Walter Berry Brooks in 1921 at Waurika. They moved to Guymon in 1923. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1969; and by a daughter, Geraldine Rowbotham. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Brooks of Huntington Beach, Calif., R.T. Brooks of Goodwell and Bob Brooks of Knoxville, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven greatgreat-grandchildren. The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. today. Robert C. Burdge HOOKER, Okla. - Robert C. "B.G." Burdge, 72, died Wednesday, April 22, 1998. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with Tom Lee officiating. Burial was in Hooker Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Burdge was born and raised in the Hooker community. He graduated from Hooker High School in 1943. He joined the Marines later that year, serving as a corporal in Hawaii. After his discharge in 1946, he attended PAMC. He joined his father and brother in management of Hooker Hardware Co., which he continued for 50 years. Mr. Burdge was employed as a mail carrier from 1991 until his death. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher, treasurer for 20 years and as deacon. Mr. Burge was a charter member of Hooker Lions Club, a 32nd degree Mason and member of the American Legion. He was responsible for raising funds for the current Legion Hall. He was a volunteer firefighter and scorekeeper for the Hooker Bulldog basketball team from 1946 until 1995. He was named to the Hooker School Hall of Fame He married Weldene Elaine Wadley in 1948 at Tyrone. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Andi Brankel of Claremore; a brother, George Burdge; a sister, Nellie Hammack; and two granddaughters. Ussery, 68, died Thursday, April 23, 1998. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Central Church of Christ with Tom Bailey, minister, officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Victoria. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Ussery was born in Southland. He moved to Deaf Smith County in 1995 from Victoria. He was a conductor for Southern Pacific Railroad. He attended Central Church of Christ. He married Joan Larson in 1968 at Point Comfort. The family requests memorials be to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. James Russell McKinley PAMPA - James Russell McKinley, 65, died Friday, April 24, 1998. A memorial service will be at a later date. The body was donated to Texas Tech University Medical School in Lubbock. Mr. McKinley was born in Texas and had been a resident of Pampa for the past two years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked in law enforcement for 35 years at Lamesa, Sweetwater and Rockwall. He also worked for the newspaper in Lamesa. He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd. Survivors include a son, Greg McKinley of Lamesa; a daughter, Debra Southall of Lubbock; two sisters, Barbara of Odessa and Carolyn Honeycutt of Garland; four grandchildren; and friend, Jeri Barbour of Pampa. Mrs. Koch was born in Ellis County, Okla. She graduated from Arnett High School in Arnett, Okla. She married Gerhardt Koch in 1943 at Arnett. They moved to Canadian in 1948 from Arnett. They owned and operated North Plains Appliance for 37 years. Mr. Koch died in 1985. Mrs. Koch served on the Family and Community Education Council. She was a member of First Christian Church and the Night Owls Extension Club. "Dale" Dorsey in 1982 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1989. Mr. Lincycomb was born in Kirkland. He was a World War II veteran and served in the Coast Guard from 1942 until 1943. After his basic training in Florida, he was stationed in Puerto Rico. He married Sarah Schultz in 1954 at Fort Stockton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the hospital auxiliary, the Womens' Missionary Union, the First Baptist Church and active in the Meals on Wheels program. He was a sergeant and served in Viet Nam as an aviation mechanic. Mr. Gill moved to Fort Worth after his discharge and to Tulia in 1990. In 1954, she moved to Lockney from Arlington. She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church, Creative Quilters of Plainview, the Lockney Quilting Club, and the Women's Missionary Union at both First Baptist Church of Aiken and First Baptist Church of Lockney. She married Loyd Lee Duvall in 1934 at Midlothian. He was the retired owner and operator of Tucky's Auto Service in Plainview. He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. He married C.J. Goodnight in 1930 at Durant, Okla. She died in 1993. He married Elva Richards in 1994. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jo Carroll Barbee of Amarillo; a son, Pat Arnold McDavitt of Austin; two halfbrothers, Julian McDavitt of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Carroll McDavitt of Middleburg, Fla.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She received her teaching certificate from East Central State Teachers College in Ada and taught in Maxwell, Okla. She moved to Amarillo in 1927. Mrs. Sullivan was a charter member of West Amarillo Christian Church. She organized and was past president of the Women's Council at Washington Avenue Christian Church where she was a member. She was a homemaker. She married John C. Sullivan in 1927 at Ada. He died in 1991. Survivors include two sons, J. Norman Sullivan of Golden, Colo., and Joe B. Clarissa Ann Villarreal, Ethan Andrew Villarreal HEREFORD - Clarissa Ann Villarreal, 17, and her son, Ethan Andrew Villarreal, 18 months, died Friday, April 24, 1998. Robert Holt LOCKNEY - Robert Holt, 94, died Friday, April 24, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Floyd County Memorial Park in Floydada with the Rev. Harold Abney, pastor of First Baptist Church of Lockney, officiating. Arrangements are by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Holt was born in Bosque County. He graduated from Clifton High School and attended Clifton College. He moved to Floyd County in 1938. In 1940, he was an operator for the city light plant in Floydada when it first opened. He moved to Fort Worth in 1943 where he was employed as a government inspector at Consolidated Aircraft during World War II. After the war, Mr. Holt was employed as an electrician and city water superintendent in Clifton. He retired in 1973 as city water superintendent in Lockney. He was a farmer and member of First United Methodist Church of Floydada. He married Helen Hay in 1938 at Floydada. She died in 1995. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Holt of Lockney and Robert Holt of New York City; a daughter, Janet Crues of Dallas; three sisters, Faye Hulme of Clifton, and Berniece Sutton and Jo Marie Maugham, both of Waco; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Gruben TULIA - H.V. Gruben, 79, died Saturday, April 25, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mr. Gruben was born in Royston and raised in Rotan where he graduated from high school in 1937. He lived in Tulia from 1940 until 1943 when he joined the Army Air Corps. He fought in the South Pacific during World War II. After his 1946 discharge, he returned to Rotan. He moved to Tulia in 1957. Mr. Gruben was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was manager of Clayton Brothers Gin for 33 years. He married Marie Stanford Thomas in 1971 in Kingsville. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gary Gruben of Eldorado and Ron Gruben of Bedford; a sister, Inez Purser of Merkel; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was employed as maintenance supervisor for Texas Department of Transportation. He was a member of the Masons, Lubbock Scottish Rite and Kiva Shrine. Survivors include his wife, Paula J. Hall; two sons, Lee Roy Hall Jr. of Dallas and Delainie Hall of Atlanta, Texas; two daughters, Lisa Marie Hall of Dallas and Rachel Lambert of Perryton; a brother, Billy Joe Hall Sr. of Borger; a sister, Mary Katherine Ham of Turkey; and five grandchildren.
