Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Mobeetie with the Rev. Lewis Ellis, pastor of First Baptist Church of Lefors, officiating. Burial will be in Mobeetie Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mr. St. John was born in Fairmont, Minn. He was an Army veteran of World War I. In 1995, he moved to Las Cruces, N.M., after having lived in Mobeetie for a number of years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans of Mobeetie. He married Erna Andrews in 1919 in Clovis, N.M. She died in 1983. Survivors include two daughters, Louise Hogan of Hot Springs, Ark., and Edith Cross of Abilene; two sons, Robert F. St. John of Las Cruces and Byron St. John of Louise; a brother, Stanley St. John of Lafayette, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren. Cecil E. Fuller SHAMROCK - Cecil E. Fuller, a former resident of Shamrock, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Lee, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mr. Fuller began working for United Gas Co. in the late 1930s. In 1944, he enlisted in the Navy and served until his discharge in 1945. He then returned to work for United Gas Co. until they sold to Lone Star. He transferred to Cisco in 1962 and to Snyder in 1970. In 1973, he retired from Lone Star Gas and moved to Moran. He moved to Seminole in 1993. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 0343 at Moran and was a deacon of Missionary Baptist Church of Shamrock until 1962. He also was a member of First Baptist Church in Cisco. Survivors include his wife, Essie Mae; four daughters, Virginia Spires of Pine Bluff, Ark., Cecile Kephart of Seminole, Janice Graham of Shamrock and Carla Bell of Gould, Ark.; two brothers, Doyle Fuller of Memphis, Tenn., and Troy Fuller of Washington; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Elmer Dewey Unruh PERRYTON - Elmer Dewey Unruh, 90, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Randall Spindle officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Mr. Unruh was born in Taloga, Okla., and moved to the Perryton area in 1987 from Pierre, S.D. He was a farmer and a rancher in the Gray, Okla., area. He married Lida Lee Anderton in 1929 at Woodward, Okla. She died in June. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Tily Osborne in October. Survivors include a daughter, Cheri Unruh of Trinidad, Colo.; a son, Larry Unruh of Guymon, Okla.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. George W. Hoff BORGER - George W. Hoff, 84, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Fairlanes Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Lewis of Stinnett officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Stinnett by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. A Borger resident for 55 years, Mr. Hoff was born in Hutchinson County. During World War II, he served in the Army with the Combat Infantry 45th Division in Naples, Foggia, Sicily, southern France and Rome-Arno. He received the Bronze Star, Thame Campaign Medal with four bronze stars, Good Conduct Medal and American Defense Service Medal. Mr. Hoff was a mechanic for Phillips Petroleum Co. He was a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church and Disabled American Veterans. He married Mildred Hataway in 1945 at Panhandle. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry Hoff of Fort Worth; a daughter, Gayle Meier of Canyon; a sister, Billie McCrory of Engelside; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Brandon Leigh Carrasco PLAINVIEW - Brandon Leigh Carrasco, infant son of Juan Manuel Jr. and Victoria Carrasco, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerry Kinney, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home. Brandon was born in September in Plainview. Survivors include his parents; and two brothers, Juan Manuel Izaguirre and Fabian Antonio Izaguirre, both of Plainview. Ruby Mae Barnett FRIONA - Ruby Mae Barnett, 84, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Waide Messer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mrs. Barnett was born in North Zulch. She had been a Friona resident since moving from Pep, N.M., in 1943. For 20 years, she was a bookkeeper for Kendrick Oil Co. Mrs. Barnett worked as a cashier at KBob's Restaurant in Hereford for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Friona and was active in the senior adult group. Survivors include two sons, Doyce Barnett of Friona and Gerald Ray Barnett of Bovina; two sisters, Oneta Gore of Andrews and Allie Bell Howard of Douglas; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Calvin E. Stuart MOBEETIE - Calvin E. Stuart, 67, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Shamrock Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Jewel, pastor of Country Chapel in Wheeler, officiating. Burial will be in the Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home in Wheeler. Mr. Stuart was born in Collingsworth County and graduated from Antelope High School in Antelope. He served in the Marines during the Korean War. Mr. Stuart moved to Mobeetie in 1968 from Pampa. From 1954 until 1968, he was employed by Shell Oil Co. in Skellytown and then worked for Gerlane Petroleum from 1968 until 1980. For five years, he was employed by Panhandle Community Service as a HUD inspector. He married Leola Richardson in 1951 at Wheeler. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ronnie Stuart of Lawton, Okla., Randy Stuart of Amarillo and Dennis Stuart of Lubbock; his mother, Beulah Stuart of Shamrock; a brother, Gerald Stuart of Shamrock; eight grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Viewing will be from 8 a.m. until noon and from 1 until 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday. The family suggests memorials be to Pampa Sheltered Workshop, 1301 W. Sommerville, Pampa; or Panhandle Community Services, 411 N. Cuyler, Pampa. Frances Julia Hartman KRESS - Frances Julia Hartman, 90, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Church of Christ in Kress with Jack McCall of the church officiating. Burial will be in Kress Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Hartman was born in Hale County and moved to Kress at a young age. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kress Church of Christ, Kress Study Club and Kress Bridge Club. She married Elser Hartman in 1929 at Kress. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968, by a son, David V. Hartman, in 1988, and by a daughter, Lou Ann Holt, in 1986. Survivors include a daughter, Gay Lovvorn of Amarillo; a sister, Lora Ruth of Claude; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Kress Cemetery Association. Viola Vandiver DALHART - Viola Vandiver, 86, of Beatrice, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Hass Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David L. Vandiver officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart. Mrs. Vandiver was born in Durham, Okla. She was a farm wife before moving to Dalhart in 1949. She was employed by Gibsons Store, the Donut Shop and several restaurants before retiring. She moved to Plymouth, Neb., earlier this year and returned to Dalhart in September. She married Roy Vandiver in 1929. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982, by a son, Lloyd Vandiver, and a daughter, Mary Vandiver. Survivors include a daughter, Helen June Ivey of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a greatgreat-grandchild. Visitation will be Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Amarillo William Worth Willis William Worth Willis, 57, of Springfield, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 20, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage. Mr. Willis was born in Amarillo. He moved to Oklahoma 28 years ago and returned to Amarillo in 1971. For several years, he was employed as a carpenter. Survivors include three daughters, Cathy Walters and Kellie Willis Cowan, both of Amarillo, and Tonya Gilcrest of Fort Worth; two sons, Bobby Ray Willis of Amarillo and Johnny Gilcrest of Fort Worth; his parents, Vada Willis of Amarillo and W.F. Willis of Wellington; a brother, Lamond Willis of Amarillo; and 11 grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. Monta Mae Clark Monta Mae Clark, 82, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with Dr. Howard Batson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Clark was born in Emmitt. A homemaker, she moved to Amarillo in 1980 from Pampa. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was Sunday School superintendent for many years and member of the Women's Missionary Union. She married Arthur B. Clark in 1935 at Dawson. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Annette Taylor and Lamoyne Garrison, both of Amarillo, and Deborah Edwards of Deo Norte, Colo.; a brother, Woodrow Gorham of Wichita Falls; a sister, Ohma England of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to local chapter of the Gideons. Carolyn M. Mosser Carolyn M. Mosser, 66, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Quail Creek Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses with Rex Dowling officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Mosser was born in Fairport, Mo., and moved to Amarillo in 1975 from Sioux City, Iowa. She graduated from school in Maysville, Mo. A homemaker, she was a member of Quail Creek Congregational of Jehovah's Witnesses. She married Wilbur Glen Mosser Jr., in 1951 at Union Star, Mo. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Gerald Mosser, Michael Mosser and James Mosser, all of Amarillo, and Terry Mosser of Sioux City; a brother, Billy Johnson of St. Joseph, Mo.; a sister, Joyce Conway of Abilene; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. The body will not be available for viewing. Willis Burks Willis "Jack" Burks, 66, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Grover Neal, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Burks was born in Clarksville and had been an Amarillo resident for 49 years. He attended Fred Douglas Elementary School and Patten High School in Amarillo. He retired after 32 years of service with Acco Feed Co., and was a member of St. John Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Clarice; two sons, Gary Burks and William Burks, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Carla Burks of Denver; four stepdaughters, Deloris Stinnett, Sonjia Burks and Jackie Mason, all of Amarillo, and Michelle Gentry of Dodge City, Kan.; four stepsons, Homer Young, Ronald Mason and Chris Mason, all of Amarillo, and Willie Mason of Dallas; and 10 grandchildren. The family will be at 1924 N.W. 14th Ave. Canyon D.C. Epps Sr. D.C. Epps Sr., 87, of Canyon, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Mr. Epps was born in Turnersville and had lived in the Canyon area for 36 years. He was a Baptist church member and had farmed most of his life. He married Lillian Jones in 1934 at Childress. She died in 1997. Survivors include a son, D.C. Epps Jr. of Canyon; a sister, Bonny English of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Floyd Bushong Floyd Bushong, 56, of Canyon, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Deckard, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mr. Bushong was born in Granite City, Ill. In 1960, he graduated from Granite City High School and enlisted in the Army with the Special Forces. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Mr. Bushong was a heavy machine operator in construction. In 1984, he was employed in the purchasing department of WTAMU until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He married Sharon Jenkins in 1996 at Canyon. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Brett McGregor of Amarillo and Bryce McGregor of Lubbock; and three grandchildren. New Mexico Lester E. Kirby CLOVIS, N.M. - Lester E. Kirby, 72, died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Eddy officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Pleasant Hill, N.M. Mr. Kirby was born in Pleasant Hill and was a lifelong resident of the area. He had worked at McDaniel Furniture Store the past 45 years. He was a member of Clovis Masonic Lodge 40 AF&AM. He married Sue Roman in 1949. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kraig Kirby of Albuquerque; six brothers, Cecil Kirby of Baileyville, Ill., Roy Kirby of Slaton, Texas, Vernon Kirby of Soper, Okla., Charles Kirby of Enterprise, Ala., Jim Kirby of Springfield, Tenn., and Mike Kirby of El Paso, Texas; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Billy Joe Aguilar BOISE CITY, Okla. - Billy Joe Aguilar, 32, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1998, in Clayton, N.M. Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Boise City Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. Aguilar was born and raised in Boise City where he graduated from high school. He served in the Air Force in munitions. After his discharge, he moved to Georgetown, Texas, where he was employed in a furniture warehouse. He returned to Boise City where he was a roughneck in the oil field. He was a Catholic. Survivors include his mother, Cora Aguilar of Boise City; and three brothers, John and Lee Roy Aguilar, both of Albuquerque, N.M., and Martin Dale Aguilar of Boise City. The family suggests memorials be to the family to help defray funeral costs.
