Arturo Meza of St. Laurence Cathedral officiating. Additional services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Church of Christ in Gruver with James Knnaird officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors. Mr. Cotter was born in Gruver and had lived in Amarillo for 19 years. He worked for the city of Amarillo as supervisor of city warehouses. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in telecommunications. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Rose Ann Wethington in 1980 at Nazareth. Survivors include his wife; a son, Joshua Cotter of the home; a daughter, Angela Cotter of the home; three brothers, John Cotter and Donald Cotter, both of Gruver, and Charles Cotter of Dimmitt; three sisters, Mary Olsen and Peggy Dillow, both of Gruver, and Margaret Smith of Spokane, Wash. The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association, 2404 W. Seventh, Amarillo TX 79106. Ada Cleo McCuistion Ada Cleo McCuistion, 82, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Mike Ecker officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Arrangements are by the funeral home. Mrs. McCuistion was born in Bartlesville, Okla. and moved to Amarillo in 1946 and to Canyon in 1970. She was a homemaker and a nondenominational Christian. She married Travis McCuistion in 1935. He died in 1996. Survivors include two sons, Richard McCuistion of Littleton, Colo. and J.W. McCuistion of Canyon; a daughter, Julia McGowen of Canyon; three brothers, Bill Bruner and Fred Bruner, both of California, and W.O. The family will be at 3124 Oak Street. Dr. Roderick Carl Formby Dr. Roderick Carl Formby, 71, of Amarillo, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Dr. Formby was born in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High, Amarillo College and from Baylor Dental School in 1952. He practiced in Amarillo from 1954 until 1984. After his retirement, he worked in North Yemen from 1984 until 1987 as a missionary in the dental field. He was a member of the Gideon Society and a former deacon of First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II. He married Ailene Miller in 1947. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sharon Woodward of Cotapaxi, Colo., Sheila Dawes of Westway and Shannon Tiberlake of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. She and her husband ran a business college in Albuquerque, N.M., where she ran the bookstore, trained students in job interview skills, and worked in job placement for graduate students. She moved to Amarillo in 1980, where she worked in sales at Uniforms Unique. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She married Noel T. Cudd in 1947. He died in 1997. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis, N.M. Mrs. Green was born in Weber City, N.M. and was a lifelong resident of the area. She worked as a cosmetologist. She married Homer Green in 1954. He died in 1991. Survivors include a son, Barry Green of Melrose; three daughters, Linda Rossi of Gulfport, Miss., Karen Sena and Shelly Weigl, both of Melrose; two brothers, Eugene Hester and Ray Hester, both of Melrose; and six grandchildren. Lawrence Henry "Larry" Dow TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Lawrence Henry "Larry" Dow, 93, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Dunn Memorial Chapel with the Rev. John Mikow, minister of the United Presbyterian Church in Tucumcari, officiating. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Dow was born in Lincoln in the territory of New Mexico and had been a longtime resident of Tucumcari. He was a retired Southern Pacific Railroad conductor. He was an active member of the Tucumcari Lodge No. 27 A.F. & A.M. Masons in Tucumcari, the Ballut Abyad Shrine Club of Albuquerque, the Al Biz Shrine Club of Tucumcari and the Scottish Rite Consistory. He also belonged to the IOOF Club and was active in ranching with his son James. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michale Dabau. Survivors include his wife, Louise Dow of Tucumcari; one son, James Dow; one daughter, Gail Bartell of Discovery Bay, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. George Braithwaite TUCUMCARI, N.M. - George Braithwaite, 72, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church in Tucumcari with the Rev. Bob Miller, minister of the South Georgia Street Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Braithwaite was born in Bentonville, Ark. He had been a resident of Tucumcari since 1955. From 1961 to 1981 he was a general contractor in Tucumcari. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tucumcari, Gideons International, Masonic Lodge No. 56 in Bentonville, Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. No. 27 in Tucumcari, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Tucum Sams Rv Group. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death in 1968 by one son, Gene Braithwaite. Survivors include his wife, Billie Fay of Tucumcari; two sons, Glenn Braithwaite and Gordon Braithwaite of Albuquerque; one brother, Robert Braithwaite of Dexter, Maine; and four grandchildren. Mr. Harris was born in Harmon, Okla., where he graduated from Vici High School in 1948. He worked for Bell Telephone and for Santa Fe Railway. He retired from Phillips Petroleum as a pumper-gas measurer. He later worked for Lear Petroleum and for Total Minatome until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Darrouzett. He married Lynda Webb Born in 1984. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Youlonda Doffer of Enid, Okla.; two sons, Roy Lee Harris of Kerrick and Gary Harris of Woodward, Okla.; two stepsons, Randy Born of Canyon and Terry Born of Smyrna, Ga.; his father, Thomas Glenn Harris of Vici, Okla.; a brother; six sisters; six grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. John David Wang LIBERAL, Kan. - John David Wang, 61, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Miller Chapel with the Rev. Michael Ide officiating. Interment will be in the Liberal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Miller Mortuary of Liberal. Mr. Wang was born in Norman County, Minn. He graduated from the Fertile, Minn., high school in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army for three years. He was a sales representative for a liquid feed company in Crookston, Minn., for several years before moving to Liberal in 1969. In Liberal, he represented Gro-Mor Liquid Feeds for several years. In 1980, he began working in the auto sales industry with Stu Emmert Automotive Center for 12 years as an auto salesman and later as an finance manager. Beginning in 1992, he worked for the Clark Auto Ranch in Guymon, Okla., as auto salesman and finance manager. He was member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge No. 1947, all of Liberal. He married Eileen M. Heisler in 1962 in Esmond, N.D. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Maj. Todd Wang of Fort Leavenworth, Jason Wang of Hood River, Ore., and Dr. Preston Wang of Vienna, W.V.; one daughter, Jacquie Wang of Amarillo; his mother, Lillian Wang of Fertile, Minn.; two brothers, Jimmy Wang of St. Cloud, Minn., and Danny Wang, of Scobey, Mont.; five sisters, Dorothy Mercer of Bellingham, Wash., Gloria Monson of Phoenix, Evelyn Kittelson and Esther Olson of Babbitt, Minn., and Marlys Halmrast of Eagan, Minn.; and three grandchildren. Oklahoma Lindsey Brooke Bandy VERDEN, Okla. - Lindsey Brooke Bandy, 17, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the new Verden school gym with the Rev. Johnny Wray, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Verden, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lane Cemetery in Anadarko. Arrangements are by Steverson Funeral Home in Anadarko. Miss Bandy was born in Chickasha and reared in the Anadarko-Verden area and attended Verden schools. She was a member of the 1999 class of Verden High School. She was a member of the Future Homemakers of America, where she served as secretary and president of her sub-district. She played softball and basketball and was manager of the boys basketball team. She had been a member of the National Honor Society for three years and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students. She was a member of the Verden First Baptist Church and was active in the church youth group. She had worked the last two summers at Arby's in Chickasha. Her paternal grandparents, Mae and Elvin Etharidge, preceded her in death. Survivors include her mother, Debbie Cochran of Anadarko; her father, Dewey Joe Bandy Jr. of Chickasha; her step-father, Mike Cochran of Anadarko; two half-sisters, Deborah Casey of Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, and Kimberly Bass of Oklahoma City; step-grandparents, Wayne and Joan Cochran of Anadarko; and grandmother, Jonelle Bandy of Sudan. Area Alberta McDaniel TULIA - Alberta McDaniel, 89, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Central Church of Christ with Trey Morgan, pastor of Central Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. McDaniel was born in Miami, Texas, and grew up in Pampa and attended schools there. She moved to Canyon, graduated from West Texas State University, and later moved to Happy and taught in schools there. She also farmed there and in Tulia, where she moved in 1952. She was a homemaker and a member of the Central Church of Christ. She married Fowler E. McDaniel in 1932 in Happy. He preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by one son, Kay McDaniel; and one daughter, Mary Frances Lloyd in 1984. Survivors include one son, Dan McDaniel; five grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren; and companion, Johnnie Tatum. The family suggests memorials be to High Plains Children's Home, P.O. Box 7448, Amarillo TX 79114-9990. Alyce Ruth Munden CLARENDON - Alyce Ruth Munden, 82, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998. Cremation will take place on Monday at Memorial Park Crematory in Amarillo. No services will be held. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. Mrs. Munden was born in Pueblo, Colo. She was a resident of Raton, N.M., before moving to Peoria, Ariz., in 1956, where she lived until moving to Clarendon in 1970. In 1972, she moved to Amarillo, but returned to Clarendon in 1975. She and her husband operated a service station in Clarendon. Mrs. Munden had worked for several years as a bookkeeper before her retirement. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Clarendon. She married Cecil Levi Munden in 1941 at Raton. He preceded her in death in March 3, 1990. Survivors include four sisters-in-law, Gladys Johnson of Longmont, Colo., Lillian Long of Canon City, Colo., Lita Lanham of Durocher, Ill., and Vivian Hunter of California. He was a retired field operator with Phillips Petroleum Co., and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. His first wife, Edna, preceded him in death in 1990. He married Mary Jones later that year. Survivors include his wife; a son, Doyal Stegall of Stinnett; two stepsons, Jimmy Jones and Kenneth Jones, both of Borger; a stepdaughter, Peggy Dawson of Amarillo; two sisters, Bertha Harper of Pritchett and Gladys Hornsby of White Oak; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Loucille Pitts Steward QUANAH - Loucille Pitts Steward, 92, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998 in Childress. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral Home of Quanah. Mrs. Steward was born in Alexander City, Ala. In 1920, she moved to Quanah, where she was a homemaker. She served as past president of the Home Demonstration Club and as a volunteer Gray Lady in nursing. She was a member of Church of Christ. She married Lee Steward in 1928. He died in 1989. Survivors include two sisters, Levis Brown of Apache Junction, Ariz. and Ruby Banks of Fallon, Nev. Mrs. Trapp was born in Muleshoe and moved to Amarillo from Grandin, Mo. in 1993. She was a member of Dumas Drive Church of Christ in Amarillo and had been a librarian in Donithan, Mo. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home in Friona. Mrs. Stokes was born in Lazbuddie and was a lifetime resident of Parmer County. She had been a cook in a restaurant for many years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by a son, Charles Allen Zachary, in 1981. She married Arthur Stokes in 1947. He was a member of the Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce and First United Methodist Church. He married Elizabeth Howard in 1931. She died in 1995. Artie Wason MATADOR - Artie Wason, 94, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church in Matador with Dean McNamara, chaplain of Hospice of Plainview, officiating. Burial will be in East Mound Cemetery at Matador by Lemons Funeral Home of Matador. Mrs. Wason was born in Paint Rock. She lived in Matador until moving to Plainview three years ago. She was a retired cafeteria manager for the Matador schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Matador Senior Citizens Organization and the Matador Garden Club. She married W.B. Wason in 1924. He died in 1973. Survivors include a son, Don Wason of Plainview; a daughter, Dorothy Campbell of Floydada; three sisters, Gertrude Buffington of Stockton, Calif., Leota Gillitt of Lubbock and Ina Mae Lightfoot of Roby; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Betty Henderson GEORGETOWN - Betty Henderson, 68, formerly of Amarillo, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Richardson, officiating. Arrangements are by Cook-Walden/Davis Funeral Home of Georgetown. Mrs. Henderson was an employee at both Amarillo Airport Restaurant and Amarillo Country Club, and of Rebecca Lodge. Survivors include three daughters, Judy Sumner of Irvine, Calif., Neva Stovall of Georgetown and Sheila Bulman of Enterprise, Kan; two sons, Leslie Henderson of Leaday and H.B. Henderson of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Paul Laminack PADUCAH - Paul Laminack, 80, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Paducah Church of Christ with Rich Popejoy officiating. Burial will be in Paducah Garden of Memories by Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah. Mr. Laminack was born in 1918 in Wood County. He moved to Paducah in 1917. He drove a truck for Mobil Oil and for Petro fuel for seven years. He also worked for Bill Browning, for Cottle County and drove for Texaco until he retired. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Lois Smith. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jackie Wayne Laminack of Paducah and Donnie Paul Laminack of Tampa, Fla.; two brothers, Howard and Billy Laminack of Winnsboro; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Ruby B. Cumby PLAINVIEW - Ruby B. Cumby, 78, died Friday, Dec. 25, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Lemons Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Barry Tilley of Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Lubbock. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park. Mrs. Cumby grew up in East Texas and graduated from high school in Huntsville. She resided in Mesquite and worked at the Texas Power and Light until 1948, when she moved to Plainview. She married Harrell Cumby in 1941 in Nebraska. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Elam of Mathis and Marlise Ferrell of Lubbock; two sons, James Cumby of Dallas and David Cumby of Lubbock; one brother, Jimmy Kirksey of Beaumont; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
