Miller MULESHOE - Herbert N. Miller, 75, died Wednesday, June 24, 1998. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday MST in West 21st Street Church of Christ at Clovis, N.M., with Cecil Bunch, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Bailey County Cemetery at Muleshoe by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. Miller was born in Paris, Texas, and moved to Muleshoe in 1976 from Clovis. He graduated from Clarksville High School at Clarksville and attended Paris Junior College. He was a World War II veteran serving in the 90th Airdrome Squadron as an engine mechanic and crew chief. He was a store manager for the Taylor-Evans Seed Co. and was a Dekalb Grain Seed salesman. He also managed A&M Farm Supply in Muleshoe and was employed by Leon Wilson Aerial Spraying Service. He was a member of the West 21st Street Church of Christ. He married Jean Harbison in 1946 at Hugo, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronny Miller of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Mike Miller of The Woodlands; a brother, Eugene Miller of Tyler; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Smithlawn Home, P.O. Box 6451, Lubbock, Texas 79493. Effie Lura Cude TULIA - Effie Lura Cude, 91, died Thursday, June 25, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Central Church of Christ with Trey Morgan, minister, officiating. Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. Monday in Fort Cobb Cemetery in Fort Cobb, Okla. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mrs. Cude was born in Manitou, Okla., and attended schools in the Carnegie, Okla., area. She was a school cafeteria manager in Weatherford, Okla., and Midwest City, Okla., for more than 17 years. Mrs. Cude moved to Tulia in 1982. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Central Church of Christ. She married William Franklin Cude in 1924 at Gotebo, Okla. He died in 1970. She also was preceded in death by her son, Orville Jack Cude, in 1981. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce Thompson of Tulia and Novell Hunt of Olney; a brother, Gene McDaniel of Payson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to American Cancer Society. Edwin L. Tucker DENVER, Colo. - Edwin L. Tucker, 65, a former Amarillo resident, died Thursday, June 25, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in the East Alameda Church of Christ at Aurora. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Claude Cemetery at Claude, Texas. Arrangements are by Fairmount Mortuary and Cemetery of Denver. Local arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, Armstrong Chapel, Claude, Texas. Mr. Tucker was a homebuilder and a co-owner of Ceramic Sales, while living in Amarillo. He worked for Cathey Wholesale at Lubbock. He married June Aduddell in 1951. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Tucker. Survivors include his wife; his children, Brad Tucker and Denise Barnett, both of Aurora, Cathey Peters of Greeley and Gary Tucker of Midland, Texas; his father, Ivan Tucker of Amarillo; a sister, Ann Barton of Payette, Idaho; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Society. J.H. Faulkner BORGER - J.H. "Johnny" Faulkner, 75, died Thursday, June 25, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Church of Christ of Borger with Richard Kasko, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Vesperland Garden of Highland Park Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Faulkner was born in Grandfalls and had been a Borger resident for 51 years. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He retired as a chemical operator from Phillips Petroleum Co. He was a member of Church of Christ of Borger and Golden Plains Community Hospital Auxiliary. He married Juanita Watson in 1948 at Borger. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mike Faulkner and Tommy Faulkner, both of Amarillo; two daughters, Ann Sloan of Amarillo and Cheri Casey of Borger; two sisters, Ann Mullins of Abilene and Emma Lou Mitchell of Mesa, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will be staying at 113 Lakeview in Borger. Faye H. White STRATFORD - Faye H. White, 76, died Thursday, June 25, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Stratford with the Rev. Jerry Stewart, pastor, and the Rev. Rob Lackey, chaplain from Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mrs. White was born in Coryell County. She had been a Stratford and Sherman County resident since 1963. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She married Howard White in 1940 at Lubbock. He died in 1993. Survivors include three sons, Glenn D. White of Stratford, Keith White of Fort Washington, Md., and Sam White of Herndon, Va.; three brothers, R.D. Meyers of Duncanville, C.D. Meyers of Ralls and W.E. "Jinks" Meyers of Muleshoe; six sisters, Ruby Lee Melton of Dallas, Ola Mae Graham of Plainview, Jenelle Peterson of Lubbock, Betty Taylor of Weatherford, Virginia Gartemiller of Mena, Ark., and Dortha Jane Hargrove of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Elsie McCracken PAMPA - Elsie McCracken, 96, a former Pampa resident, died Thursday, June 25, 1998, in Tulsa. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Dr. Jim Prock, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. McCracken was born in an abandoned fort in Major County, Okla. She attended Northwestern Teachers College and taught school in Major County for six years. After her marriage, she moved to the Pampa area where she and her husband farmed and ranched until 1964. Mrs. McCracken was a member of First Baptist Church in Pampa. She moved to Tulsa in 1990. She married James M. McCracken in 1925 at Major County. He died in 1964. She also was preceded in death by two sons, John William McCracken and Jerry Calvin McCracken. Survivors include a son, James O. McCracken of Pampa; two daughters, Margaret Morgan and Betty Miller, both of Tulsa; a sister, Ruth Rouse of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Fred Detrick of Ames, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. Elmer Louis Ensey PANHANDLE - Elmer Louis Ensey, 78, died Thursday, June 25, 1998. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Les Hall officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Ensey was born in Duncan, Okla., and moved to Panhandle in 1950 from Vernon. He was an Army veteran of World War II where he served with the 77th Infantry. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Mr. Ensey retired after 30 years of service as a truck driver with the Texas State Department of Transportation. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He married Pearl Irene Cobb in 1942 at Vernon. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gifford A. Ensey of Austin and Lynn Ensey of Amarillo; a daughter, Nancy E. Kotara of White Deer; two brothers, Alvis Ensey of Mesquite and Don Ensey of Sulphur Springs; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Amarillo Jonathan Ryan Roberts Jonathan Ryan Roberts, 18-month-old son of John and Susan Roberts, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 25, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Southwest Baptist Church, 45th Avenue and Crockett Street, with the Rev. J. Alan Ford, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Jonathan was born in Amarillo. He attended Southwest Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents; a sister, Jamie Roberts of the home; grandparents, Fred and Janie Longoria of Kress and John and Linda Roberts of Canyon; and great-grandparents, Marie Bowsher of Amarillo and Johnny and Mary Johnston of Alabama. Mario M. Hernandez Mario M. Hernandez, 45, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 25, 1998. A vigil will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor Frances Smyer and the Rev. Ken Keller, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Hernandez was born in Garden City, Kan., and moved to Amarillo 17 years ago. He was employed as a utilities operator by Pantex/Mason and Hanger. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a third degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 1450. He also was a member of various booster clubs at Caprock High School. Mr. Hernandez coached both boys and girls basketball teams and boys softball with Kids, Inc. He was a Cub Scout leader of Pack 21, assistant Boy Scout leader and merit badge counselor for Troop 86 and teacher and trainer of altar servers for St. Mary's Catholic Church. He married Lorraine "Lorri" Gomez in 1977 at Garden City, Kan. Survivors include his wife; a son, Matthew Hernandez of Amarillo; his parents, Larry and Lupe Hernandez of Garden City; three brothers, Larry Hernandez Jr. of Wichita, Kan., Ben Hernandez of Houston and Paul Hernandez of Olathe, Kan.; and three sisters, Joanie Hernandez and Penny Medina, both of Garden City, and Lupe Hernandez of Overland Park, Kan. Jarrod Lee Crow Jarrod Lee Crow, 16, of Amarillo, died Thursday, June 25, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. Lee Roark, chaplain of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital, officiating. Burial will be in Claude. Mr. Crow was born and raised in Amarillo. He was a student at Amarillo High School. He played on the Sandies football team wearing shirt No. 63. Survivors include his parents, James and Rhonda Crow of Amarillo; a brother, Josh Crow of Amarillo; and his grandmother, Helen Hawkins of Amarillo. The family will be at 7611 Canode.
