Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Chouinard was born in Manasha, Wis. He worked and grew up on a farm in Michigan. He joined the Army in 1943 and served in the Philippines during World War II. He was awarded the Meritorious Unit Award, American Theater Service Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Ribbon, Philippines Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars and Good Conduct Medal. He moved to Amarillo in the early 1970s after retiring from Manasha Corp. He was a member of NTO Bowling League at Western Bowl and a member of Second Baptist Church. He married Margaret Tyler in 1995 at Manasha, Wis. Survivors include his wife; seven daughters, Marie Kuhse of Clinton, Iowa, Gloria Kohl and Phyllis Spruills, both of Neeah, Wis., Louella Chouinard of Manasha, Wis., Shirley Chouinard and Jon Weiss, both of Hortonville, Wis., and Sandra Beasley of Sterling, Kan.; three brothers, Elmer Chouinard and Elfred Chouinard, both of Manasha, Wis., and Leonard Laurin of Nebraska; five sisters, Marie "Boots" Guy of Las Vegas, Beatrice Spricks of Michigan, May Bergman of Los Angeles, Betty Jane Lauer of Appleton, Wis., and Jean Umphrey of Fort Worth; 19 grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. Juanita Long Juanita Long, 72, of Amarillo, a former longtime Borger resident, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Mrs. Long was born in Vernon and was a longtime Borger resident. She was retired from Phillips Co-Poly Plant and was a Methodist church member. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W.F. "Bill" Russum in 1971. She married Ed Long in 1979. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jo Ann Barclay of Borger; a brother, David Wiseman of Avinger; a sister, Jessie Bell Gebauer of Cuero; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Seng Dasy Koumalavong Seng Dasy Koumalavong, 46, of Amarillo, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. He was employed by My Thai Restaurant. He married Manichanh Inpeng in 1991 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bounthan Koumalavong and Oth Koumalavong, both of Laos; a daughter, Kingkham Koumalavong of Laos; two brothers, Vikeo Koumalavong of Texas and Phonesith Koumalavong of Laos; and three sisters, Lee Koumalavong, Manikhone Koumalavong and Somchith Koumalavong, all of Laos. The family will be at 3307 White Cotton. New Mexico Opal Downey CLOVIS, N.M. - Opal Downey, 84, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. Mrs. Downey was born in Minco, Okla. She married George Downey in 1932 at El Reno, Okla. They moved to New Mexico in 1944, where they farmed for several years in the St. Vrain area, later moving to Clovis. She was a member of Kingswood Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Valdia Buchwald of Santa Fe; and two granddaughters. Johnston, 72, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Andy Husted, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mr. Johnston was born in Clayton where he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Clayton High School. He was a member and past master of the Clayton Masonic Lodge No. 23 AF&AM, member and past patron of the Clayton Chapter No. 8 Eastern Star and a member of First United Methodist Church. He married Dora Mae Green in 1944 at Clayton. She died in 1995. Survivors include two sons, Robert R. Johnston of Albuquerque and John F. Johnston of Springer; a sister, Clara Ellen Blasyk of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Clyde Alex Boston GOODWELL, Okla. - Clyde Alex Boston, 93, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Woods of Central Christian Church at Liberal, Kan., officiating. Burial will be in the Elmhurst Cemetery. Mr. Boston was born in Hillsboro, Texas. In 1906, he moved to the Oklahoma Panhandle and lived west of Goodwell. He married Dolly Lea White in 1925 at Stratford, Texas. They moved to Colorado and ranched near Arlington from 1930 until 1962, when they returned to Goodwell. He worked at Boston Furniture and Appliances until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Elks Lodge 701 in Ordway, Colo., and a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; and a brother, Charley Boston of Guymon. Mary Lucile Allen GUYMON, Okla. - Mary Lucile Allen, 86, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Hansford Cemetery near Spearman, Texas, with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Memorial services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church in Guymon. Arrangements are by BunchRoberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mrs. Allen was born in Hansford, Texas, where she attended school until the town of Spearman was established. She graduated from Spearman High School and attended McMurray College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Spearman and Victory Memorial United Methodist Church of Guymon. Mrs. Allen farmed with her husband in Spearman and later in Guymon. She was a member of Sigma Phi, Daughters of the American Revolution, Twentieth Century Club, Church Circle, Rose Garden Club, Delphinium Garden Club, Mr. and Mrs. Garden Club and was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She married John R. Allen in 1934. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Fincham. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Marilyn Wilson of Crawford and Barbara Rapp and Jane Whitford, both of Guymon; four sisters, her twin, Louise Vaught, Edna Bassel and Virginia Cates, all of Amarillo, and Helen Fisher of Spearman; three brothers, J.B. Buchanan of Spearman, J.W. "Wilson" Buchanan of Dumas and Paul Buchanan of Pampa; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Stephen Edmond Dillard JACKSONVILLE, Ark. - Stephen Edmond Dillard, 44, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 1998. Services were at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Cabot Funeral Home. Burial was at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Mr. Dillard was born in Amarillo. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1972. He entered the Air Force in 1973, retiring in 1993. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church while living in Amarillo. He married Linda Davis in 1996 at Jacksonville. Survivors include his wife; his mother and stepfather, Marcella Elliott and Rex Perrin of Amarillo; his father, Morris E. Dillard of Corpus Christi; and three half brothers, John Perrin of Austin, John Robert Dillard of Corpus Christi and Walter Scott Dillard of Houston. Duane Malcolm King VAN NUYS, Calif. - Duane Malcolm King, 57, a former Amarillo resident, died Friday, Aug. 21, 1998. Services were Thursday in the Praisewater-Meyer-Mitchell Mortuary with Ben Mathers, his brother-in-law from Canadian, officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in California. Mr. King was born in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1959 and attended the University of Texas at Austin before moving to California where he joined the Army Reserves. He had worked at numerous financial institutions the last 20 years with his last employment selling real estate in the southern California area. Survivors include a son, Adam Duane King of Rockland, Maine; two sisters, Elaine King Randall of San Angelo, Texas, and Sandra King Mathers of Canadian, Texas. Canyon Jay Jackson Jay Jackson, 25, of Canyon, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, in Kansas. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Paul Land, pastor, and Ken Cargle officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mr. Jackson was born in Zanesville, Ohio. He was a 1992 graduate of Canyon High School where he was active in 4-H and FFA. He was self-employed as a livestock buyer and was involved in agriculture. He was a member of First Christian Church of Canyon. Survivors include his parents, Art and Judy Jackson of Canyon; a brother, Bryan Jackson of Canyon; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmore Harper of Quincy, Fla., and Elaine Jackson of Zanesville. Area Sidney Lee Hale Sherrod MIAMI - Sidney Lee Hale Sherrod, 42, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998, at Tulsa, Okla. Cremation and other arrangements were by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Sherrod was born in Pampa and was a lifelong resident of Miami. She graduated in 1974 from Miami High School and attended West Texas State University. She was a nationally recognized artist, specializing in tole painting. She married Tommy Sherrod in 1974 at Pampa. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Traci Bartee of Irving and Kristen Sherrod of Goodwell, Okla.; her father, D.L. Hale Jr. of Pampa; a sister, Leslie Nooncaster of Fayetteville, Ark.; and a brother, Steve Hale of Miami. Jack L. Brown DUMAS - Jack L. Brown, 67, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Willingham, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Brown was born in Paris, Texas, and had lived in Dumas since 1943. He was a contract welder after retiring from Potash of America in 1991 after working there 35 years. He married Wanda Wilson in 1954 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debbie Gale Sullivan of Liberty and Jackie Street of Dumas; a brother, Donnie Brown of Dumas; two sisters, Mary Lou Milbern of Dumas and Joy Nichols of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. Charles Nelson Bright MIAMI - Charles Nelson Bright, 66, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Miami with the Rev. Wes Wellborn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Bright was born in Roger Mills County, Okla. He was a veteran of the Army and served during the Korean conflict. In 1993, he retired after 40 years with the Texas Department of Highways in Miami. Mr. Bright was a member of the American Legion Pulaski Post No. 106 where he held the office of adjutant for 10 years. He also was a member of First Baptist Church and served as usher for many years. He was an active volunteer at the Roberts County Museum and helped with hospice benefits. He married Vida Jane Carnahan in 1952 at Miami. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lloyd Wayne Bright of Borger and Steven Sanford Bright of White Deer; his mother, Pearl Skeen of Miami; four brothers, Dale Bright of Fairview, Ill., Bob Bright of Pampa and Roy Bright and DeWayne Bright, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Bonnie Floyd and Patricia DeMaroney, both of Pampa; and two granddaughters. Mabel Cox TULIA - Mabel Cox, 98, of Burkburnett and a former Tulia resident, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with Berlin Raymond, Christian minister, and Robert Pederson, Christian minister, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Mrs. Cox was born in Hardeman County and moved with her family to Brisco County in 1901 in a covered wagon. She attended schools at Redhill near Vigo Park. She lived in Amarillo for several years then moved to Swisher County in 1931 where she and her husband farmed. Mrs. Cox moved to Tulia in 1949. She was living in Burkburnett with her daughter. She married Fred W. Cox in 1917 at Tulia. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971 and by a son, Earl Ray Cox, on Aug. 26. Survivors include five daughters, Romaine Flanagin of Austin, Marvelle Neuman of Canyon, Betty Brown of Burkburnett, Nina Englishbee of Wheatland, Wyo., and Kathleen Vaughn of Dallas; two sons, Mark Cox of Paris and Ralph Cox of Austin; a sister, Eunice May of Tulia; 22 grandchildren; and 32 greatgrandchildren. Lucille Gray Reneau SHAMROCK - Lucille Gray Reneau, 82, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Baptist Church of Shamrock with the Rev. Jack Lee, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Reneau was born in Lockney and had lived in southern Wheeler County almost all of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Lydia Sunday School Class and the Rebekah Lodge. She married married I.R. Gray in 1937 at Sayre, Okla. He died in 1977. Survivors include three daughters, Jo Lewis of Wellington and Jean Pitcock and Jimmie Sanders, both of Shamrock; two sisters, Ruby Taylor of Hurst and Pearl Hicks of Borger; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church Youth Activity Building. V.H. Breedlove WELLINGTON - V.H. "Toots" Breedlove, 80, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. James McLeod, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Masonic rites. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Breedlove was born in Harmon County, Okla., and moved to Wellington at an early age. He attended Wellington schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Breedlove operated Breedlove Plumbing from 1946 until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Wellington Masonic Lodge No. 763 and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Merle Bounds in 1940 at Hollis, Okla. She died in 1996. Survivors include his son, Mickey Breedlove of Wellington; a brother, Robert Breedlove of Memphis; a sister, Emma Atkins of Hollis; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren.
