Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wood-Dunning Funeral Home Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Miss Ruff was born in Vasco and grew up in Delta County. She moved to Mobeetie in 1920 and to Plainview in 1954. She was employed as a nanny and care giver. She was a member of Church of God. Survivors include two sisters, Viola Prather of Hayward, Calif., and Dollie Newman of Kerman, Calif.; two half-sisters, Verna Glenn of McLean and Edna Earle Drake of Tulia; and four half-brothers, Homer Ruff of La Puente, Calif., Cyrus Ruff of Plainview, and Curtis Ruff and Richard Ruff, both of Lubbock. Joy Lee Faulkenberry BORGER - Joy Lee Faulkenberry, 72, died Saturday, June 27, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Smith and the Rev. James Faulkenberry officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Serenity at Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mrs. Faulkenberry had been a Borger resident, moving from Granfield, Okla., in 1948. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School from 1949 until 1985. She was a homemaker. In 1945, she married Thurman Faulkenberry at Granfield. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Lois Ford and Angela Brown, both of Borger, and Joy Beth McCormick of Amarillo; three brothers, Willburn Joe Jones of Cleburne, Don Jones of Oklahoma City and Bill Jones of Tuttle, Okla.; and three sisters, Bernice Faulkenberry of Nixa, Mo., Nellie Arter of Houston, and Zay Whittington of Gainsville. The family will be at 1310 Coble. Tildia Jane Shelbourne McLEAN - Tildia Jane Shelbourne, 98, died Sunday, June 28, 1998. Mrs. Shelbourne was born in Indian Territory. She was retired as a farmer and rancher. She was a member of the Heald United Methodist Church. She was employed at Pampa Air Force Base and also was a seamstress, doing alterations for several dry cleaners in Pampa. She was a member of First Christian Church. She married Bill Freudenrich in 1989 at Pampa. Survivors include her husband; a son, Carlos J. Roberts of Bryan; two daughters, Glenda Kay Didway of Pampa and Willa Dean Durrett of Alvarado; two sisters, Beatrice Bowers and Ruby Vaughn, both of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She had been an Amarillo resident for more than 30 years. She was a docent for the Amarillo Museum of Art and served on the Cattle Barons Ball committee. Mrs. Megert was a past member of Amarillo Association of Realtors, Tascosa Tennis Association and a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. She was in the Journeyman's Sunday School class. She married Russell A. Megert in 1976 at the Fern Grotto in Hawaii. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Stacey Aziz of Cypress; a son, Brad Megert of Odessa; her mother, Beatrice Chitty of Richardson; a sister, Patsy Bradshaw of Richardson; and three granddaughters. Mrs. Carrasco was born in Newkirk and moved to Clovis at an early age. She was employed as a clerk in the Curry County Clerk's office. She was active in the Democratic Party and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. She married Augustine Carrasco in 1949 at Albuquerque. He died in 1981. Survivors include seven sons, Hank Carrasco of Scottsdale, Ariz., Jackie Carrasco and Phillip Carrasco, both of Clovis, Augie Carrasco and Anthony Carrasco, both of Round Rock, Texas, and Charles Carrasco and Joseph Carrasco, both of Midland, Texas; six daughters, Pennie Sanchez of Albuquerque, Elena Corrales of Midland and Joyce Baca, Francine Garcia, Felicia Joy and Dorothy Pacheco, all of Clovis; 31 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Gladys Mae Batterson Gum TEXHOMA, Okla. - Gladys Mae Batterson Gum, 80, of Stratford, Texas, and a longtime resident of Texhoma, died Saturday, June 27, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Texhoma United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dane Lemmons officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma, Texas, Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma, Okla. Mrs. Gum was born and raised in Texhoma where she graduated from high school. She attended one year of college. With her husband, she farmed and ranched in the area. Mrs. Gum and her husband moved to Amarillo after their retirement until she entered Coldwater Manor in Stratford. She was a Methodist. She married Buster Gum in 1941 at Texhoma. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary Gum of Texhoma and Tim Gum of Kennesaw, Ga.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
