Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hass Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Brace, pastor of Pentecostal Church of God at Texhoma, Okla., officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Nance was born in Farmersville, La., and moved to Brownsville in 1936. In the early 1940s, she moved with her family to the Panhandle. She finished her schooling in Childress. She married Edd Richesin in 1948. They moved to Amarillo in 1954 and to Dalhart in 1964. She was a past member of the Elks Lodge and attended First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter, Celesta Brace. Survivors include two daughters, Edwina Womble of Dalhart and Regina Williams of Canyon; a son, Edd Richesin of Booker, Okla.; a special friend, Eddie Leavell; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1209 Margaret in Dalhart. Margie Naomi Sechrist Green LOCKNEY - Margie Naomi Sechrist Green, 59, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommie Beck, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Lockney Cemetery by MooreRose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Green was born in Lorenzo. She graduated from Lockney High School in 1957 and attended McMurry Christian University at Abilene. She married Edward W. Green in 1958 at Amarillo. They moved from Agar, S.D., to Garden City, Kan., in 1982 and to Lockney in 1996. She owned and operated Margie Green's Day Care Center at Garden City. She was active in genealogical work while living in Garden City. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lockney. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Michael Green, Johnny Green and Walter Green, all of Garden City; four daughters, Elizabeth Foster of Austin, Carla DeNaeyer of Wolfforth, Angelia Green of Garden City and Joyce Ellis of Albany, Ore.; her father, Dave Sechrist of Lockney; a brother, James David Sechrist of Mineral Wells; a sister, Linda Shugart of Lubbock; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. J.W. Rowell TULIA - J.W. Rowell, 75, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Davenport, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Rowell was born in Munday. He was raised in Munday and Silverton, where he attended schools. He was an Army veteran, serving until 1945. After the service, he returned to Tulia and worked for the Texas Highway Department. He married Rose Louise Stark in 1942 at Claytonville. They moved to Plainview in 1952 and to Kress in 1960. He moved to Colorado in 1965 where he ranched. He returned to Tulia in 1987. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Plainview, the Lions Club in Plainview and of the Veterans of Foreign War. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1987 and also by a daughter, Joy Rowell Reed. Survivors include a daughter, Shirley McAnelly of Austin; two sisters, Pearl Hooten of Plainview and Billie Hooten of Amarillo; six brothers, Chester Rowell of Denver, Orval Rowell of Tulsa, Okla., Dean Rowell of Silverton, Dale Rowell of Pampa, Clifford Rowell of Corpus Christi and Charles Rowell of Plainview; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Fletta Mae Wyatt PAMPA - Fletta Mae Wyatt, 60, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Effie Edna Johnston PAMPA - Effie Edna Johnston, 90, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Johnston was born in Field, N.M. She lived in Chillicothe, Killeen, Borger and Mobeetie before moving to Pampa in 1972 from Mobeetie. Mrs. Johnston married Roy Joshua Johnston in 1926 at Chillicothe. She was a member of Mary Ellen & Harvester Church of Christ and had been a resident of the Coronado Health Care Center for the past two years. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972; three brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include four daughters, La Verne Corcoran, Shirley Swinney and Patsy Poole, all of Pampa, and Naomi Davis of Beaumont; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-greatgrandson. David Davis Jr. LAMESA - David Davis Jr., 75, died Thursday, May 28, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Teeters officiating and the Rev. John Free, pastor of Second Baptist Church, assisting. Burial will be in Lamesa Memorial Park by Branon Funeral Home. Mr. Davis was born in Clarendon and married Dorothy Starkey in 1962 at Clarendon. He moved to Lamesa from Amarillo in 1972. Mr. Davis worked for Medical Arts Hospital for many years and was a lifetime member of Medical Arts Hospital Auxiliary. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and was an Army veteran. Jim Bert Bobbitt LOCKNEY - Jim Bert Bobbitt, 75, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Lockney with the Rev. Gene Hawkins, pastor of First Baptist Church of Floydada, officiating, and the Rev. Harold Abney, pastor of First Baptist Church of Lockney, assisting. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Bobbitt was born in Lockney and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Lockney High School and attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Bobbitt married Gladys Marie Hall in 1948 at Plainview. He was a farmer. He served on the Lockney Co-Op Board and the Lockney Independent School District School Board. Mr. Bobbitt was a member of the Lockney Senior Citizens, Lockney American Legion, Lockney Masonic Lodge No. 867, where he served as a Shriner, the Adult Chapter of Future Farmers of America and First Baptist Church of Lockney. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Susan Grigg of Grand Junction, Colo., and Donna Bobbitt of Burns Flat, Okla.; a sister, Sallye Cate of Springdale, Ark.; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at San Jacinto United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Laureland Cemetery in Dallas. Mrs. Jacobsen was born in Frost and moved to Amarillo in 1985 from Italy, Texas. She married Martin Jacobsen in 1992 at Amarillo. Mrs. Jacobsen was a retired registered nursed and a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by husbands Benjamin Lloyd Jones in 1978 and Guy Blanton in 1990. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jane Ann Shipp of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. McGrew was born in Parkville, Mo., and had been a resident of Amarillo for more than 50 years. She married Toby McGrew in Kansas City, Mo. She was a homemaker. Mrs. McGrew was preceded in death by her husband in 1978. Survivors include a son, William David McGrew of Amarillo; a brother, Jack Cleek of Carney, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Virginia Mae Heath Virginia Mae "Sissy" Heath, 49, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Ninth Ave., with the Rev. Steve Conrad officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Heath married George Heath in 1982 at Amarillo. The family requests memorials be to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Carl Chester Crist Carl Chester Crist, 76, of Amarillo, died Thursday, May 28, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Valley View Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Wayne Hicks officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. MST Saturday in Clayton Memorial Cemetery in Clayton, N.M. Mr. Crist was born in Booker and married Vada R. Weese in 1946 at Clayton. He moved to Amarillo in 1989 from Clayton. Mr. Crist was a cowboy and a rancher. He was in the Army from 1942-45, where he served in World War II in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, the Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the European African Meddle Western Victory Medal. He was a member of Valley View Church of the Nazarene and a past member of the American Legion of Grenville, N.M., Union County. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Clay Crist and Larry Crist, both of Fort Sumner, N.M., Lance Crist of Canyon and Jeff Crist of Clovis, N.M.; four daughters, Janet Manzer, Carol Hartsfield and Kimberly Crist, all of Amarillo, and Carla Spitz of Lamar, Colo.; four sisters, Vivian Nieman of Utah and Minnie Lambert, Doris Malone and Naomi Andrews, all of Farmington, N.M.,; 21 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice. Oklahoma Arthur Canon TEXHOMA, Okla. - Arthur Canon, 78, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Davidson, pastor, officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Dolberg Cemetery at Sulphur. Arrangements are by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma. Mr. Canon was born in Murray County. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and was stationed in England. He married Constance "Connie" Cass in 1945 in London, England. They moved to Texhoma in 1946. She died Jan. 18. He worked for Texas County for 30 years. He served on the city council for many terms, taught first aid classes and was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include four sisters, Viola Valdez of Sulphur, Pillie Monroe of Oklahoma City, Tinkie Gray of Ardmore and Mary Bishop of Portland. Elsewhere Howard Brewer STONEWALL, Colo. - Howard Brewer, 54, a former Amarillo resident, died Tuesday, May 26, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in the Stonewall Community Church with Steve Pence, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo by Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home of Trinidad. Mr. Brewer was born in Amarillo. He married Billie Robinson in 1981 at Las Vegas, Nev. He moved to Stonewall 13 years ago from Amarillo. He was the owner and operator of the Shop 'N Bag at Stonewall. He had served in the Vietnam War as a helicopter pilot. He was a member of the Stonewall Community Church and of Palo Duro Masonic Lodge in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Jacquelyn Brewer of Amarillo; two sons, Howard Brewer III of Beulah, and Jonathan Brewer of Pueblo; two daughters, Davi Anne Douglas of Flowermound, Texas, and Christy Myers of Pueblo; a brother, Jimmy Brewer of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. Mrs. New was born in Groesbeck and married W.J. "Bill" New in 1936 at Clovis, N.M. She lived in Sudan most of her life. Mrs. New was a homemaker and a member of Sudan Church of Christ. Newbill, 84, a former longtime resident of Melrose, died Wednesday, May 27, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church at Melrose with the Rev. Coy Brewer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Melrose Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home. Mrs. Newbill was born in Melrose and lived there until moving to Tucumcari seven years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Melrose and had served as the church secretary for many years. She also had driven a school bus and worked in the school cafeteria. Survivors include a daughter, Mona Carmin of Oregon City, Ore.; a sister, Cassie Stogner of Tucson, Ariz.; two brothers, Bill Burdette of Melrose and Aaron Burdette of California; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Canyon Cecil Winifred O'Donald Cecil Winifred O'Donald, 81, of Canyon, died Thursday, May 28, 1998. Arrangements were by Holley Funeral Home Inc. of Canyon and cremation was by Memory Gardens Crematory. Mr. O'Donald was born in Memphis and moved with his family to Randall County in 1928. He married Viva Ruth Keenan in 1942 at Clovis, N.M. Mr. O'Donald worked on the line crew as an equipment operator for Southwestern Public Service Co. for 371/2 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Canyon. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Janna Rae McMurry of Seymour and Lavada Jean Permeter of Amarillo; three sons, James T. O'Donald, Daniel E. O'Donald and Cecil C.
