Larson CANADIAN - Emily A. Larson, 72, of Grand Junction, Colo., died Monday, Nov. 23, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Higgins Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Don Cheshire, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Higgins, officiating. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors in Canadian. Mrs. Larson was born in Lansing, Mich. In 1964, she moved to Higgins from Torrance, Calif., then moved to Grand Junction in 1986. She was a homemaker and member of Higgins First United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star in Hawthorne, Calif. She married Claude Larson in 1964 at Canadian. He died in 1980. Survivors include two sons, Ray Larson of Mountain Home, Ark., and Roy Larson; a special friend, Rex Hamill of Grand Junction; and 16 grandchildren. Viewing will be from 8:30 a.m. until noon today at the funeral home in Canadian. Cecil W. Seitz DALHART - Cecil W. Seitz, 73, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Hass Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Rammage of First Baptist Church of Clayton, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in Knox City Cemetery in Knox City. Mr. Seitz was born in Mobeetie where he attended school. After graduation, he enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served on the US California during World War II. In 1946, he enrolled in Texas Tech University where he received his degree in agriculture science. Mr. Seitz was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture with the Soil Conservation Service in Knox City. He also was involved in farming and ranching. In 1964, Mr. Seitz moved to Dalhart where he continued to work for the Soil Conservation Service until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Dalhart. He married Olene Walker in 1957 at Knox City. He was preceded in death by a son, Finnice Seitz, in 1983. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jalene Buysman of Dalhart and Deanna French of Lubbock; three brothers, Glen Seitz of Dallas, Elbert Lee Seitz of Canyon and Garland Seitz of Eldorado, Okla.; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association of the Texas Panhandle. JoAnn Mitchell BORGER - JoAnn Mitchell, 63, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998. Mrs. Mitchell was a native of Olton and a Borger resident for 53 years. She was a teacher at Pringle-Morse School for six years and a journalist for KQTY for 10 years and the Borger News Herald for 11 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She married Jim Mitchell in 1954 at Borger. Burial will be in Castro Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Sadler was born in Hall County and moved to Sunnyside in 1926. She attended school in Sunnyside and graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1933. She was active in her church and community including Sunnyside Baptist Church and Plains Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She married Embree Roy Sadler in 1933 at Plainview. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Myles F. Sadler of Lubbock and Embree Gale Sadler of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. John Edward Huggins LOCKNEY - John Edward Huggins, 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Hawkins, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial was in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Huggins was born and raised in Lockney where he graduated from high school. He attended Texas Tech University and served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. He retired from the Air Force after 23 years. Mr. Huggins was a builder after his retirement from the military. He was a member of Yellowhouse Masonic Lodge of Lubbock, the Lockney Masonic Lodge No. 867 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7993. He was a Baptist. Viewing will be until service time at the funeral chapel in Stinnett. Abraham O. Escudero PLAINVIEW - Abraham O. Escudero, 84, died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998. Mr. Escudero was born in San Salvador, El Salvador and moved to the United States in 1950. He moved to Plainview in 1994 from Oregon. He was a member of the Baptist Church and was employed as a service station attendant. He married Anna Maria Salacar in 1980 at Weslaco. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jose Escudero of El Salvador and Abraham Escudero Jr., of Springfield, Ore.; and two daughters, Velma Escudero of Spain and Gladys Escudero of Fresno, Calif. Mary Juanita Owen HEREFORD - Mary Juanita Owen, 73, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Cosby officiating. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford. Mrs. Owen was born in Sayre, Okla. She assisted in researching and writing the history of the E.B. Black Historical House in Hereford. She also was active with the Deaf Smith County Museum and was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Warren Owen in 1948 at Hereford. Mrs. Sisco was born in Beinville Parrish, La., and had lived in Childress for many years. She had previously lived in Yocum County from 1947 until 1961. He retired after 20 years as a custodian for the Clarendon Public Schools. He was a member of the Clarendon Church of Christ. Mrs. Barton was born in Mountain Burg, Ark., and moved to Quail in 1964 from Rudy, Ark. She was employed by Mitchell Furniture Factory and nursing homes in Fort Smith, Ark., and Wellington. She was a member of the Church of Christ. In 1918, she married Everette Brammer who died in 1970. Her second marriage was to Morris Barton in 1974, who preceded her in death in September and by two sons, Everette Brammer Jr., and Dennis Brammer. She married Leon Barnard in 1944 at Amarillo. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Janeann Mott of Amarillo; a son, Dale L. She was a beauty operator and member of First Christian Church of Stratford. A longtime Dumas resident, she moved to Amarillo in 1990. She married Bud Hager who preceded her in death. The Rev. Deacon J. Bruce Aycock CORPUS CHRISTI - The Rev. Deacon J. Bruce Aycock, 77, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998. Rosary and vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today in the Corpus Christi Cathedral. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Corpus Christi Cathedral. Burial with full military honors will be at 2:45 p.m. in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Aycock graduated from Central Catholic High School of San Antonio in 1938 and from St. Marys University with a bachelor's degree in philosophy and a J.D. in law. He was a Navy veteran and the former city attorney for Amarillo and Corpus Christi. The Rev. Aycock was ordained a permanent deacon in the Roman Catholic Church in 1977 at Laredo. He served as parochial deacon at St. Patrick, St. Phillip the Apostle and Corpus Christi Cathedral. He was a tribunal judge for the diocese of Corpus Christi. The Rev. Aycock was a member of the national, state and Corpus Christi Bar Associations and served as president of the Texas City Attorneys' Association. He was involved in the county and local mediation dispute and the local literacy programs. He was an active Boy Scout leader in San Antonio and Amarillo. Survivors include his wife, Julia Kelly; three sons, David Kelly Aycock of Smithville, Andrew Daspit Aycock of San Antonio and Mathew Joseph Aycock of Stevenson Ranch, Calif.; a daughter, Ann Marie Salazar of Kathy; and four grandchildren. Henry George Marshall SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Henry George Marshall, 64, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in La Presa Community Church. Arrangements are by Featheringill Mortuary in San Diego. Mr. Marshall was born in New York City. He lived in Peoria, Ariz., and was a minister. New Mexico Dr. Joe E. Stewart SANTA FE, N.M. - Dr. Joe E. Stewart, 53, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Memorial services will be arranged by McGee Memorial Chapel in Santa Fe. Dr. Stewart was born in Hollis, Okla., and grew up in Saguache. He graduated from Mountain Valley School then received his doctor of veterinary medicine from Colorado State University in 1969. After graduation, he moved to Salida. From 1970 until 1972, Dr. Stewart served in the Army at Fort Ord in Monterey, Calif. In 1972, he moved to Santa Fe where he practiced at the Ark Veterinary Hospital. He retired in 1987. He married Brenda in 1968. Survivors include his wife; a son, Todd; a daughter, Amy; and his father, Orville Stewart. King, 88, of Harrah, Okla., died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis with the Rev. Charles Hargrove officiating. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis. Mrs. King was born in Jennings, La., and had been a Clovis resident since 1935. She had moved to Albuquerque and later to Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 1962 and by a son, Dale. Survivors include a son, Jim King of Harrah; a daughter, Wanda Snipes of Edgewood; a sister; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Edith Brewer CLOVIS, N.M. - Edith "Nan" Brewer, 85, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Church of Nazarene with the Rev. Ed Abla officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Brewer was born in Eldorado, Okla., and moved to Wellington, Texas where she attended school. In 1943, she moved to Clovis and was employed by Clovis National Bank in 1954. She became manager of the Cannon branch and retired in 1977. Mrs. Brewer was a part-time employee for Harbes Gift Shop. She was a member of First Church of Nazarene where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Missionary Society and the choir. She married Ervin Brewer in 1929 at Wellington. He preceded her in death in 1970. Survivors include a daughter, Roselyn Patterson of Clovis; two brothers, Clyde Miller of Canyon, Texas and Rudolph Miller of Wichita Falls, Texas; two sisters, Maurine May of Clovis and Velma Rose Strong of Deming; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Frank Edward Cecelic CLOVIS, N.M. - Frank Edward Cecelic, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998. Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Carlos Chavez officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mr. Cecelic was born in Euclid, Ohio. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps. He had lived in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Clovis two years ago from Chandler, Ariz. In Cleveland, he was a member of the Fraternal Order SDZ Slovenian Lodge No. 6. He married Dorothy Skedel in 1946 at Euclid. She preceded him in death in May. Survivors include a son, Frank J. Cecelic of Clovis; a daughter, Johanna F. Pockar of Cleveland; and three grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. Lewis A. Carter TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Lewis A. Carter, 78, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Wes Stewart, minister of Temple Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation was prior to the services. Mr. Carter was born in Lawton, Okla., and served in the Army during World War II. He moved to Tucumcari in 1996 from Logan. He moved to Logan in 1981 from Clovis. Mr. Carter was employed as a conductor by the Santa Fe Railroad for 38 years. In Logan, he owned and operated the Carter Boat Storage facility. He was a member of the Railroad Trainman, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3280 of Clovis and the American Legion Post No. 77 in Logan. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; four sons, Alvin Carter of Glenn Burney, Md., J.D. Carter of Fort Worth, Bruce Wayne Carter of Damascus, Md., and George Shafer of Murray, Utah.; a halfbrother, Roy Carter of Hereford, Texas; a sister, Kyra Bain of Windsor, Colo.; and four grandchildren. Oklahoma B.M. Smith GUYMON, Okla. - B.M. Smith, 70, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Shannon Smith officiating. Burial was in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born in Little Cedar and grew up in Antlers. He moved to Raton, N.M., when he was 15. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. He married Audra Evelyn "Tootie" Hagelberg in 1977 at Raton and moved to Guymon in 1988. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1993. Survivors include a daughter, V.K. Hefley of Pauls Valley, Okla.; four sons, Henry "Bims" Smith of Maxwell, N.M., Jim Hagelberg of Goodwell, Donnie Hagelberg of Boise City and John Wayne Hagelberg of Guymon; five brothers and sisters, C.O. "Neal" Smith of Childress, Texas, Vivian Hannie of Sayre, Lile Smith of Antlers, Richard F. "Snuffy" Smith of Edmond and Wanda Knapp of Davis; 10 grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Roger D. Davis WOODWARD, Okla. - Roger D. Davis, 40, a former Amarillo resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Zwanziger Funeral Home Chapel with Gordon Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Mr. Davis was born in Dumas and graduated from high school in Amarillo. He was employed as a master plasterer by Erwin Construction in new house building. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He married Debrah Lee Anthem in 1977 at Liberal, Kan. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Crystal Davis of Woodward and Amber Davis and Donielle Davis, both of San Antonio; his parents, James W. Davis of Dallas and Hattie Mae Hudgens of Amarillo; a brother, James W. Davis Jr., of Amarillo; and a granddaughter.
