He was employed by My Thai Restaurant. He married Manichanh Inpeng in 1991 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bounthan Koumalavong and Oth Koumalavong, both of Laos; a daughter, Kingkham Koumalavong of Laos; two brothers, Vikeo Koumalavong of Texas and Phonesith Koumalavong of Laos; and three sisters, Lee Koumalavong, Manikhone Koumalavong and Somchith Koumalavong, all of Laos. The family will be at 3307 White Cotton. Artie Terry Artie Terry, 84, of Amarillo, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. Mrs. Terry was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., and moved to Amarillo in May. She retired as chief inspector at Tyson Foods. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Estes, in April. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Stillwater, Okla., with the Rev. Nancy McCoy officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater. Local arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Pipkin was born in Custer County, Okla. She was a 1929 graduate of Stafford High School. In 1939 she graduated from Oklahoma A&M University. She married Kenneth Sheldon Pratt in 1939 at Winfield, Kan. The couple settled in Pawhuska, Okla. She later taught briefly in Burbank, Okla., and then in San Diego, Calif., where she remarried. After retiring in 1977 Mrs. Pipkin moved to Canyon. She volunteered at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum for several years and was active in the Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Bill Pratt of Canyon and Hal Pratt of Pecos; a daughter, Kathleen Jackson of Fannin; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Johnston was born in Clayton where he was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Clayton High School. He was a member and past master of the Clayton Masonic Lodge No. 23 AF&AM, member and past patron of the Clayton Chapter No. 8 Eastern Star and a member of First United Methodist Church. He married Dora Mae Green in 1944 at Clayton. She died in 1995. Survivors include two sons, Robert R. Johnston of Albuquerque and John F. Oklahoma Mary Lucile Allen GUYMON, Okla. - Mary Lucile Allen, 86, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in Hansford Cemetery near Spearman, Texas, with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor of Victory Memorial United Methodist Church, officiating. Memorial services were at 2:30 p.m. in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church in Guymon. Arrangements were by BunchRoberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mrs. Allen was born in Hansford, Texas, where she attended school until the town of Spearman was established. She graduated from Spearman High School and attended McMurry College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Spearman and Victory Memorial United Methodist Church of Guymon. Mrs. Allen farmed with her husband in Spearman and later in Guymon. She was a member of Sigma Phi, Daughters of the American Revolution, Twentieth Century Club, Church Circle, Rose Garden Club, Delphinium Garden Club, Mr. and Mrs. Garden Club and was a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star. She married John R. Allen in 1934. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Fincham. Ronald Conway MUSKOGEE, Okla. - Ronald "Pee Wee" Conway, 58, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Bradley Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in San Jon Cemetery, San Jon, N.M. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Mr. Conway was a longtime resident of the Endee, N.M., area. He was a Navy veteran. He was employed as a cowboy and a truck driver. Survivors include two daughters, Sabrina Conway of Tucumcari and Amanda Conway of Bard, N.M.; and two brothers, Bill Conway of California and Reb Conway of Oklahoma. Elsewhere Duane Malcolm King VAN NUYS, Calif. - Duane Malcolm King, 57, a former Amarillo resident, died Friday, Aug. 21, 1998. Services were Thursday in the Praisewater-Meyer-Mitchell Mortuary with Ben Mathers, his brother-in-law from Canadian, officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in California. Mr. King was born in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1959 and attended the University of Texas at Austin before moving to California where he joined the Army Reserves. He had worked at numerous financial institutions the last 20 years. He sold real estate in the southern California area. Survivors include a son, Adam Duane King of Rockland, Maine; two sisters, Elaine King Randall of San Angelo, Texas, and Sandra King Mathers of Canadian, Texas. Raymond Michael Young SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Raymond Michael "Mike" Young, 46, a former resident of Hereford and Amarillo, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1998, near Sacramento. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church at Hereford. Arrangements are by Gilliland Funeral Home of Hereford. Cremation was in California. Mr. Young was born in Hereford and attended Hereford schools until moving with his family to Dimmitt in 1966. After moving to Amarillo, he attended Tascosa High School, graduating in 1970. Mr. Young served 46 months in the Air Force as a radar technician before moving to Santa Rosa, Calif. He graduated from Santa Rosa Junior College. He worked as an electronic technician for Hewlett-Packard in Santa Rosa for 18 years. Survivors include his parents, Melvin and Mary January of McKinney and Virgil and Paula Young of Amarillo; two sons, Gary Young and Jesse Young, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Nancy Jobe of Piscataway, N.J., and Laurie Davidson of Round Rock, Texas; and a special friend, Sue Harris of Santa Rosa. The family suggests memorials be to the AIDS Foundation. Area Jack L. Brown DUMAS - Jack L. Brown, 67, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. Mr. Brown was born in Paris, Texas, and had lived in Dumas since 1943. He was a contract welder after retiring from Potash of America in 1991 after working there 35 years. He married Wanda Wilson in 1954 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debbie Gale Sullivan of Liberty and Jackie Street of Dumas; a brother, Donnie Brown of Dumas; two sisters, Mary Lou Milbern of Dumas and Joy Nichols of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. Charles Nelson Bright MIAMI - Charles Nelson Bright, 66, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Miami with the Rev. Wes Wellborn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. Bright was born in Roger Mills County, Okla. He was a veteran of the Army and served during the Korean conflict. In 1993, he retired after 40 years with the Texas Department of Highways in Miami. Mr. Bright was a member of the American Legion Pulaski Post No. 106 where he held the office of adjutant for 10 years. He also was a member of First Baptist Church and served as usher for many years. He was an active volunteer at the Roberts County Museum and helped with hospice benefits. He married Vida Jane Carnahan in 1954 at Miami. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lloyd Wayne Bright of Borger and Steven Sanford Bright of White Deer; his mother, Pearl Skeen of Miami; four brothers, Dale Bright of Fairview, Ill., Bob Bright of Pampa and Roy Bright and DeWayne Bright, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Bonnie Floyd and Patricia DeMaroney, both of Pampa; and two granddaughters. Mabel Cox TULIA - Mabel Cox, 98, of Burkburnett and a former Tulia resident, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 1998. Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Wallace Funeral Home Chapel with Berlin Raymond, minister, and Robert Pederson, minister, officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia. Mrs. Cox was born in Hardeman County and moved with her family to Brisco County in 1901 in a covered wagon. She attended schools at Redhill near Vigo Park. She lived in Amarillo for several years then moved to Swisher County in 1931 where she and her husband farmed. Mrs. Cox moved to Tulia in 1949. She was living in Burkburnett with her daughter. She married Fred W. Cox in 1917 at Tulia. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971 and by a son, Earl Ray Cox, on Aug. 26. Survivors include five daughters, Romaine Flanagin of Austin, Marvelle Neuman of Canyon, Betty Brown of Burkburnett, Nina Englishbee of Wheatland, Wyo., and Kathleen Vaughn of Dallas; two sons, Mark Cox of Paris and Ralph Cox of Austin; a sister, Eunice May of Tulia; 22 grandchildren; and 32 greatgrandchildren. Lucille Gray Reneau SHAMROCK - Lucille Gray Reneau, 82, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Shamrock with the Rev. Jack Lee, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Reneau was born in Lockney and had lived in southern Wheeler County almost all her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Lydia Sunday School Class and the Rebekah Lodge. She married married I.R. Gray in 1937 at Sayre, Okla. He died in 1977. Survivors include three daughters, Jo Lewis of Wellington and Jean Pitcock and Jimmie Sanders, both of Shamrock; two sisters, Ruby Taylor of Hurst and Pearl Hicks of Borger; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Breedlove was born in Harmon County, Okla., and moved to Wellington at an early age. He attended Wellington schools. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Breedlove operated Breedlove Plumbing from 1946 until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of the Wellington Masonic Lodge No. 763 and was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Merle Bounds in 1940 at Hollis, Okla. She died in 1996. Survivors include his son, Mickey Breedlove of Wellington; a brother, Robert Breedlove of Memphis; a sister, Emma Atkins of Hollis; a grandson; and two great-grandchildren. He married Mary Carpenter in 1939 at South Charleston, W.Va. She died in 1995. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorene Ann Robertson. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jane Vaught and Lillian Rose Ross, both of Amarillo; a sister, Ruth Reese of Florida; two grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Charles Mandeville PAMPA - Charles "C.C." Mandeville, 83, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. David Miller of Abundant Life Fellowship in Borger officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Mandeville was born in Winters. He graduated from high school in Liberal, Kan. During World War II he served with the Army Air Corps in Europe. In 1953 Mr. Mandeville moved to Pampa, where he was employed by Sherwin Williams Paint Center and later by Radcliff Electric, retiring in 1988. He played saxophone and clarinet in many bands around Pampa. He married Elizabeth Bowers in 1955 at Pampa. She died in 1992. Survivors include a son, Gary Mandeville of Guymon, Okla.; a daughter, Wanda Mandeville of Chickasha, Okla.; a stepson, Gaylon Jones of Pampa; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Alzheimer's Association. Ray Standlee BORGER - Ray "Jiggs" Standlee, 77, of Fritch, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 1998. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa. Mr. Standlee was born in Skateville. A longtime Fritch resident, he served with the Coast Guard during World War II. He was employed as an operator by Phillips Petroleum for 38 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Mabel Graves in 1980 at Borger. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Graves. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Larry Green of Stigler, Okla., Jesse Graves of Waldron, Ark., Frank Graves of Llano, Eutaw Graves of Amarillo and Marshall Graves of Borger; six daughters, Gloria Harris of Amarillo, Marilyn Kikowski of Weleetka, Okla., Lucille Reed, Eileene Martin and Peggy Ballard, all of Waldron, and Susie Heidelburg of Fritch; 37 grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Standlee Funeral Fund. Gladys Jurahee Jones FLOYDADA - Gladys Jurahee Roberts Jones, 67, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998. Derrell Monday, pastor of Central Baptist Church of Pampa, and the Rev. Gene Hawkins, interim pastor of First Baptist Church of Floydada, officiating. Arrangements are by Moore-RoseWhite Funeral Home. Mrs. Jones was born at Mount Blanco. She moved from Rye, Colo., to Floydada in 1946, graduating from Floydada High School in 1949. She received an Associates Degree in Nursing from Northwest Texas School of Nursing in 1952. A retired registered nurse, Mrs. Jones had worked for the Floydada Independent School District, Lockney General Hospital, Caprock Hospital, Doughtery Independent School District and Plains Baptist Assembly. She volunteered with Spirit of Sharing. Mrs. Jones was a charter member of the 1956 Study Club and Daughters of the American Revolution and a former board member of Floyd County Child Welfare Services. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Union. She married Travis Jones in 1952 at Floydada. Survivors include her husband; five sons, Joe P. Jones and Jon T. Jones, both of Floydada, Jay W. Jones of Lubbock, Nathan L. Johnson of South Plains and Derrell Monday of Pampa; a brother, Johnny A. Mrs. Baker was born in Coalgate, Okla. She moved to Dumas in 1951 and to Gruver in 1992. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Dumas. She married William Henry Baker in 1940 at Mountain View, Okla. He died in 1979. Mrs. McKinney was born in Chillicothe and moved to Plainview at a young age. She and her husband operated a dairy east of Plainview for 38 years. She married Ross D. James Robert Jesko HEREFORD - James Robert Jesko, 44, died Friday, Aug. 28, 1998 in Houston. Survivors include a son, Jason Jesko of Lubbock; two daughters, Laura Jesko and Stephanie Jesko, both of Lubbock; his parents, James S. and Beverly Jesko of Hereford; and five sisters, Deborah Bullard and Bernadette Wright, both of Hereford, Rebecca Smith of Amarillo and Karen Reinart and Jennifer Banner, both of Clinton, Okla. The family suggests memorials be to St. Anthony's Catholic Church Endowment Fund. Thelma Amanda McMinn HEREFORD - Thelma Amanda McMinn, 87, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Cosby, pastor, and the Rev. Ellis Parson, pastor of Summerfield Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Gilliland-Watson Funeral Home. Miss McMinn was born in Summerfield. A retired public school teacher, she taught in Hereford and Dimmitt for 30 years. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Avenue Baptist Church. Survivors include a niece, Cynthia Streun of Hereford; and a nephew, Bill McMinn of Arlington. The family will be at the Streun home in Hereford.
