Ms. McKaskle was born and raised in Amarillo where she graduated from Caprock High School. She was a veteran of the Air Force where she was first sergeant and an unit aircraft pneudraulic system specialist. She received consecutive Airman of the Month honors. Ms. McKaskle was an employee for the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Survivors include her parents, Juanita and Joe Fajardo of Amarillo; four brothers, Joe Fajardo Jr., Raymond Fajardo and John Fajardo, all of Amarillo, and Rudy Fajardo of Dallas; and a sister, Rose Harvin of Amarillo. Oklahoma Bertha Lavoy Weaver GUYMON, Okla. - Bertha Lavoy Weaver, 61, died Sunday, July 26, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. Van Winkle officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Weaver was born in Clovis, N.M. She graduated from Guymon High School in 1955. She married Robert E. Weaver in 1971 at Chapel Hill, N.C. They moved to Guymon in 1974 from Woodward. She had worked as an office manager for the Guymon Daily Herald since 1974 and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Lyn Dell Parker of Turpin and Cindy Diane Weaver of the home; a sister, Tomie Delle Drennan of McKinney, Texas; four brothers, Pryer C. Mrs. Hubbard was born in Littlefield where she graduated from Littlefield High School. She then attended West Texas State College. With her husband, she moved to Idalou in 1956 from Littlefield, then to Buffalo Springs Lake in 1976. Mrs. Hubbard was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Littlefield, First Baptist Church in Idalou and Buffalo Springs Lake Church. She married Robert "Bob" Hubbard in 1948 at Littlefield. He died in March. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Rebekah Lodge. She married Warren Williams in 1928 at Mobeetie. She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Williams, in 1954 and by a daughter, Geraldine Lincycomb, in 1973. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Crawford was born and raised in Hannibal, Mo. She married Harold Everett Crawford in 1943 at Goodland, Kan. They moved from Goodland to Skellytown and Spring Creek area in 1944. Mrs. Crawford attended Frank Phillips Business College in Amarillo and was the former office manager for Dr. Pruitt in Borger for several years. She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church until it closed. She then attended First Baptist Church of Skellytown. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992. Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Kay Hovinga of Austin, Colleen Raye Williams and Linda Sue Hibbs, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Mildred Haynes of Wichita, Kan., and Patty Piper of Salina, Kan.; two brothers, Walter Vietze Jr., of Independence, Mo., and Bill Vietze of Olatha, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Geraldine Farrar Meason QUANAH - Geraldine Farrar Meason, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jesse Dea officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park Cemetery by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Meason was born in Frankston, Anderson County. She graduated from high school in Monticello, Ark., and attended college at North Texas State University, University of Arkansas and Hardin Simmons University. She did her graduate work at Texas Tech University. After 34 years, Mrs. Meason retired from teaching. She taught school in Knox County, Wichita Falls, Tokyo, Japan, and Quanah. Mrs. Meason became the curator of the Hardeman County Museum in 1975. She was a lifetime member of 1904 Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, Colonial Dames, Daughters of the American Revolution, Texas State Teachers Association and the United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Goodloe Meason; a son, Bill Rogers of Houston; three daughters, Sue Knox of Quanah, Patricia Hurt of Amarillo and Doris Elston of Lubbock; and a sister, Maxine Kennedy of Lake Havasu City, Ariz. She attended West Texas State University for three years. Mrs. Massie was employed on the switchboard and in the loan department at First Savings and Loan and Panhandle Bank and Trust Co. She also worked for Meals on Wheels. She was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include a son, Mark Layne Massie of Coos Bay, Ore.; a daughter, Jayne Massie Fredrickson of Katy; a brother, James McCullock of Williamsburg, Va.; a sister, Susan Yates of Plainview; and six grandchildren. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Hereford. Mrs. Parmer was born in Georgetown. She lived in Hereford from 1947 until 1987 and was a licensed vocational nurse for Deaf Smith County Hospital from 1949 until 1980. She lived in Lubbock where she was a foster grandparent at Lubbock State School for 21/2 years. She moved to Dimmitt in 1993 and was a member of Lee Street Baptist Church. She married A.D. Parmer in 1927 at Florence. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978 and a daughter, Carolyn Davenport, in 1993. Survivors include two sons, Ray Parmer of McAllen and T.C. Parmer of Georgetown; a daughter, Daveine Wall of Dimmitt; 12 grandchildren; 21 greatgrandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. Melvyn Bagley KRESS - Melvyn Bagley, 77, died Wednesday, July 29, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Kress with Jeffrey Lee, former pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia by Wallace Funeral Home in Tulia. Mr. Bagley was born in San Saba and graduated from Richland Springs High School in 1938. He served in Germany under Gen. Patton during World War II. In 1950, he moved to Kress and built a cotton gin with his cousin and brother-in- law. Mr. Bagley was owner of cotton gins between Kress and Tulia, in Kress, Finney Switch and Quarterway and retired in 1981. From 1975 until 1976, he was president of the Texas Independent Cotton Ginners Association. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and First Baptist Church. His first marriage was to Georgia Faye McAda in 1955 at Kress. She died in 1964. Later that year, he married Mariella Morgan. She preceded him in death in 1997. Survivors include two daughters, Karen Collins of Petersburg and Pam Lash of Pampa; two sons, James Bagley of Amarillo and Robert Waller of Bedford; and three grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Heart Association and the American Cancer Society. John Sanford Gilliland Jr. QUANAH - John Sanford Gilliland Jr., 62, died Monday, July 27, 1998. Arrangements were handled by PriceJackson Funeral Home. Mr. Gilliland was born in Quanah. He was a graduate of Texas Christian University. He was a past president of Quanah Lions Club and was a volunteer and fundraiser for Thompson-Sawyer Library. Survivors include a sister, Martha Mullen of Pullman, Wash.; and three cousins. She moved to Muleshoe from Santa Rosa, N.M., in the early 1950s. She graduated from Santa Rosa High School and was a homemaker. She married Al Espinosa in 1945 at Borica, N.M. He preceded her in death in 1994. Survivors include two sons, Pedro Espinosa of Albuquerque, N.M., and David Espinosa of Garden City, Kan.; four daughters, Gloria Andrade of Dodge City, Kan., Ramona Handy of Portales, N.M., and Christene Gonzales and Janie Rodriquez, both of Muleshoe; a sister, Chris Silva of Albuquerque; a brother, Ernesto Gallegos of Santa Rosa, N.M.; 15 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four stepgreatgrandchildren. Clara Appel Schneider LIPSCOMB - Clara Appel Schneider, 89, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Paul Lutheran Church in Darrouzett with the Rev. Mrs. Schneider was born in Ellis County, Okla., and was a lifelong resident of Lipscomb County. She attended Willow Creek School. She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Darrouzett. She married Benjamin Schneider in 1929. He preceded her in death in 1989. Survivors include a daughter, Jolene DeAlessio of Lipscomb; a son, J.D. Schnieder of Perryton; two sisters, Kate Webb of Lipscomb and Gertrude Laubhan of Higgins; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Jones, 67, of Hillsborough, Calif., died Tuesday, July 28, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Gruver United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Moore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mr. Jones was born in Alpena, Ark. He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Southern Methodist University Graduate School of Business and Harvard Business School. His banking career started in 1954 at Republic Bank of Dallas until 1969 when he left to serve as chairman, CEO and director of First National Bank of Commerce in New Orleans. In 1975, Mr. Jones moved to Hillsborough where he founded First Resources Corp., Jameson Pharmaceuticals Corp., Jameson Laboratories, Inc., and Jameson International Corp. He was a founding director for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., and served on boards of McKesson Corp., Freeport-McMoran Corp., and Lomas and Nettleton Mortgage Investors. He also served on the National Minority Purchasing Council, U.S. Department of Commerce, Louisiana Chairman for U.S. Savings Bonds, U.S. Treasury Department and Metro Chair for JOBS of the National Alliance of Businessmen. Mr. Jones was on the board of Gow School, University of Arkansas, Big Brothers of America, Boy Scouts of American National Council, Loyola University, Radio Free Europe and Tulane University. He had major fund campaign chairmanships for Children's Charities of America, Leukemia Society of America, New Orleans Philharmonic Symphony, United Way of Greater New Orleans and Hillsborough California Schools Foundation. Distinguished service awards received by Mr. Jones include from the Boy Scouts of America, National Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation, the Volunteer and Information Agency, the New Orleans Chamber of Commerce and the Ozarks Ambassador Award for 1991. He married Peggy Bort in 1960. Survivors include his wife; four sons, James Bort Jones of Charlotte, N.C., Cliff Ownbey Jones of Hillsborough, Lee Christopher Jones of Missoula, Mont., and Kenneth Carson Jones of Dallas; and two brothers, John Charles Jones of Rogers, Ark., and Billy Carol Jones of San Mateo, Calif.
