Hendrix PAMPA - F.W. "Slim" Hendrix, 83, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Central Baptist Church with Dr. Derrell Monday, pastor, and the Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Hendrix was born in Gray County where he had been a lifelong resident. He was an engine operator for Getty Oil for 20 years and a member of Central Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Rhonda Langford in 1945 in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Marylon Russell and Robbie Stone, both of Pampa; two sisters, Irene Brophy of Eugene, Ore., and Allene Horton of Medford, Ore.; a brother, Robert Hendrix of Upland, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice in Amarillo. Faye Kelley EARTH - Faye Kelley, 92, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church in Earth with the Rev. Bobby Broyles of the church, Michael Kelley and Don Dent officiating. Burial will be in Earth Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Morton. Mrs. Kelley was born in Sweetwater, Okla. She moved to Earth in 1928 from Meridan, Okla. A homemaker, she was a member of Earth Garden Club and First Baptist Church. She married Guy Kelley in 1923 at Wheeler. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992 and by a son, Guy F. Kelley. Survivors include a son, Donald Kelley of Earth; four daughters, Freda Woodburn of Amarillo; Betty Jean Smith of Edwards, Mo., and Laqueta Dent and Joan Chapman, both of Dallas; two brothers, Pat McCord of Earth and Jack McCord of Melbourne, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Hazel Holloman Morton - Hazel Holloman, 86, of Lubbock, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel in Morton with John W. Lackey of Costa Mesa, Calif., officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Holloman was born in Stidham, Okla., and moved to Morton in 1926. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Morton and a homemaker. She moved to Lubbock in 1985. She married Randall "Ran" Holloman in 1927 at Morton. He died in 1980. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Coleman of Lubbock; a son, J.T. Holloman of Katy; a sister, Rosie Smith of Morton; five grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren. Marion Ruth Stewart COTTON CENTER - Marion Ruth Stewart, 85, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Jones of Santa Anna and the Rev. J. Dean McNamara, chaplain of Hospice of the Plains, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park Cemetery by Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Mrs. Stewart was born in Milford, Iowa, and moved to the Iowa Avenue community, south of Hale Center, when she was 4 years old. She attended school in Iowa Avenue and graduated from Cotton Center in 1932. Mrs. Stewart was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church where she was the first leader of the Sunbeam Band and taught the Girls' Auxiliary, Junior Girls Sunday School Class, Women's Darcus Sunday School Class and Vacation Bible School. She was a member of the Woman's Missionary Union. She married Loy Wayland Stewart in 1932 at Cotton Center. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Norma Sue Ashby of Cotton Center; a brother, Richard K. Dewey of Ingram; a sister, Flo Windwehen of Cotton Center; three grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren. Forsbach Joseph W. Forsbach, 44, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998, in Claude. Memorial services by the family will be at 6 p.m. today in Lamount Drive Baptist Church. Cremation was by Memory Gardens Crematory. Additional arrangements were by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Fifth Avenue and Pierce St. Mr. Forsbach was born in Columbus, Ohio, and had lived in Amarillo for five years. He was a contract laborer. He married Patricia Sands in 1988 in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Christopher Almli of Belgium and Justin Forsbach of the home; two daughters, Sylvia Forsbach and Catrina Forsbach, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Lori Ramsey of Amarillo and Tawyna Holt of Canyon; two brothers, Glenn Pagel of El Paso and Dewayne Hollifield of Amarillo; his father, Joseph W. The body will not be available for viewing. Robert N. Wilkinson Robert N. "Wilkie" Wilkinson, 83, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia, with Dr. Murray Gossett of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. A retired Air Force colonel, Mr. Wilkinson was born in New York City. In 1939, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and transferred to the Army Air Corps in 1942. His tours of duty included Hickam Field, Hawaii, Maxwell Field, Ala., and Ismir, Turkey. He moved to Amarillo in 1959. In 1959, Col. Wilkinson was appointed executive officer of Amarillo Technical Training Center of Amarillo Air Force Base. He retired in 1963. Col. Wilkinson was involved in aircraft sales and investment after his retirement. He was a member of Amarillo Country Club and First Presbyterian Church of Amarillo. He married Eloise G. Gilbert in 1944 at Corinth, Miss. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert N. Wilkinson Jr. of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176; or Opportunity School. F.W. Burnett F.W. Burnett, 63, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Llano East Cemetery with the Rev. Steven Lindsey of the Church of God Prophecy of Amarillo officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road. Mr. Burnett was born in Gracemont, Okla., and moved to Amarillo 35 years ago. He served for 10 years in the Navy including in the Korean War. He retired as an auto mechanic. Survivors include a son, Wess Burnett of Tulsa; two sisters, Lola Saxton of Oregon and Aline Vantine of Oklahoma; four brothers, Glenn Burnett, Harlen Burnett, Vernice Burnett and Leon Burnett, all of Oklahoma; and five grandchildren. New Mexico Shawn Ross Creighton CLAYTON, N.M. - Shawn Ross Creighton, 26, died Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mr. Creighton was born in Espanola. He was a 1990 graduate of Clayton High School. He had worked for Southwestern Electric Co-op in Clayton for five years and for L&K Electric for the past six months. He married Melinda S. Strickland in 1993 at Clayton. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kirsten Chaitra Creighton of the home; his parents, Ben and Elaine Creighton of Clayton; a sister, Tamra Creighton of Albuquerque; a brother, Kelly Creighton of Lincoln, Neb.; and grandparents, Ben and Elois Creighton of Elida and Jackie Worley of Pueblo West, Colo. Massey, 93, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Kenneth Truelock and Jerry Amalong officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Massey was born in Red River County, Texas, and had been a resident of Tucumcari since 1940. He was the owner and operator of El Rancho Trucking and Feed business for many years. He also owned and operated Massey Grocery Store, Massey Malco Service Station, Massey Day Care Center and upon retirement owned and operated the Massey Car Wash. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene at Tucumcari where he was a superintendent and deacon. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virgie Lee Massey, in 1974 and by a son, Gene Massey in 1994. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Mable; two daughters, Jo Kinkead and Dorothy Massey, both of Tucumcari; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Imogene Scott BOISE CITY, Okla. - Imogene "Imo" Scott, 76, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First Christian Church with John Henley of the Boise City Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Boise City Cemetery by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home of Hooker. Mrs. Scott was born on the family ranch at Des Moines, N.M. She moved with her family to Shay, Okla. She graduated from high school in Kingston at age 17. She married E.G. Bearden in 1940 in Marietta. They moved to Sandcanyon and later to El Centro, Calif. They returned to the Shay area, where they farmed peanuts, later moving to Gruver, Texas. They moved to Cimarron County to sharecrop. In 1946, they purchased the Sinclair service station on the square in Boise City and moved to town. After her husband's death in 1974, she managed Bearden Farms into its third generation. She also was a homemaker. She married L.A. "Scottie" Scott in 1991 at Las Vegas. She also was preceded in death by a son, Wayne, in 1974. Survivors include her husband; her children, LaRue Johnson of Amarillo, Jeannie Daffern of Hooker, Linda Loofbourrow of Boise City, Don Scott of Guymon and Lawrence W. "Sonny" Scott of Front Royal, Va.; three brothers, Ray Armstrong and Irwin Armstrong, both of Kingston, and Leland Armstrong of Casper, Wyo.; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.
