Private services were held Tuesday by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Daniel was born in Kirby, Ark., and attended school in eastern Oklahoma. She married Floyd Daniel in 1975 at Reno, Nev. They moved to Floyd County from Olton in 1983. She was a homemaker and was a Baptist. Survivors include her husband; a son, Randy Armstrong of Lubbock; a daughter, Donna; three brothers, John Stevenson of California, Bill Stevenson of Indiana and Jim Stevenson of Oklahoma; and a sister, Avis Curtis of California. Lydia Marie McKnight TEXLINE - Lydia Marie McKnight, 42, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. CDT Thursday in Texline Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church in Clayton, N.M., officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mrs. McKnight was born in Borger and had been a Texline resident since 1974. She was employed at the Western Motel and was a member of the Lutheran Church in Borger. She married Harvey J. McKnight in 1993 in Texline. Survivors include her husband; two stepdaughters, Michelle Cover of Dalhart and Jennifer Lacy of Amarillo; three stepsons, Dustin McKnight of Shawnee, Okla., Brian McKnight and Billy McKnight, both of Amarillo; her father and stepmother, Harold and Zoe Fick of Borger; a sister, Sally Fick of Pampa; five brothers, Junior Fick, Chris Fick and John Fick, all of Borger, Leo Fick of Dallas, and Wesley Fick of Goodwell, Okla.; three stepsisters, Rebecca Barnett and Georgia Malone, both of Ada, Okla., and Sally Holliday of Stinnett; three stepbrothers, Sonny Jordan of Deer Park, Bruce Jordan and Jack Jordan, both of Borger; and three stepgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Lola Pitts Holt HEREFORD - Lola Pitts Holt, 64, of Donna and a former Hereford resident, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Central Church of Christ in Hereford with Tom Bailey, minister, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mrs. Holt was born and raised in Hereford. She was a secretary and computer coordinator. She was a member of Central Church of Christ in Hereford. She married Eugene Holt in 1969 at Hereford. Survivors include her husband; a son, Danny Hawes of North Richland Hills; a daughter, Debra Hunter of Gainsville, Fla.; and two sisters, Vonda Findley and Wanda Rowland, both of Amarillo. The family will be at 123 Ranger Dr. Valeria Townsend BORGER - Valeria Townsend, 87, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Fairlanes Baptist Church with the Rev. Art McAninch, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Bokchito Civic Cemetery in Bokchito, Okla., by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Townsend was born in Bryan County and had been a Borger resident since 1950. She moved to Borger from Bokchito. She retired from the Spring Creek School Cafeteria and was a member of Keeler Heights Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Dock" Townsend, in 1985 and by a son, Randell Townsend, in 1988. Survivors include two daughters, Shirlene Braymer of Borger and Launa Patton of Pampa; a sister, Faye Townsend of Bokchito; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 303 Caliche in Borger. Louise Hayes CANADIAN - Louise Hayes, 74, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday with the funeral mass at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. James McGhee, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Arrangements are by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Hayes was born in Wilmington, N.C., and moved to Pampa in 1945. In 1981, she moved to Canadian. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Canadian, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church of Pampa and the Heart Altar Society. For many years, Mrs. Hayes was a retail clerk. She was a home care-giver in her later years and was a volunteer at Abraham Nursing Home in Canadian. She married Ralph W. Hayes in 1944 at Cheraw, S.C. He died in 1976. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Mize of Canadian and Linda Bruton of Amarillo; two sons, Billy Lee Hayes of Amarillo and Roy Thomas Hayes of Ohio; and a granddaughter. The family suggests memorials be to Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Canadian or Edward Abraham Memorial Home of Canadian. Shealynn Jeton Whitson PAMPA - Shealynn Jeton Whitson, infant daughter of Lisa White of Pampa and Kevin Whitson of Oklahoma City, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary, 509 N. Hughes St. Mrs. Phillips was born in Gilmer where she attended public schools. She had been an Amarillo resident for 47 years. She was a retired housekeeper and a member of St. John Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Earnest L. Harris of Amarillo, Joseph L. Harris of Dalhart, and Alford Phillips of El Paso; two daughters, Carolyn Harris Haulcy of Dodge City, Kan., and Nannie Phillips Graves of Amarillo; three brothers, Bobby Beasley Sr., and James F. Bobby Glen Young Bobby Glen Young, 61, of Dallas and a former Amarillo resident, died Thursday, Sept. 24, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Sullivan, pastor of South Georgia Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home Inc., 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Young was born in Holdenville, Okla., and graduated from high school in Dodson. He had lived in Amarillo and Pampa. At the time of his death, he lived in Dallas and was employed by Republic Supply. Survivors include his wife, Ursula; a son, Brad Young of Dallas; two daughters, Kelly Bounds of Electra and Tony Smith of Wichita Falls; his mother, Ruby J. Young of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. New Mexico Ruby M. Dunn ARTESIA, N.M. - Ruby M. Dunn, 98, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 1998, at Lubbock, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Palmer Clark, pastor, and Dr. Phillip Fike, pastor of First Baptist Church in Portales, officiating. Burial will be in Woodbine Cemetery by Terpening and Son Funeral Home. Mrs. Dunn was born in Deepwater, Mo., and moved to Artesia in 1909. She attended the Cottonwood School. She was a homemaker and a 76-year member of First United Methodist Church, where she was in the Sunshine Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Artesia Chapter No. 18 Order of the Eastern Star. She served as Worthy Matron in 1939 and was a member of Past Matrons Club of that chapter. The Artesia Hospital Auxiliary presented Mrs. Dunn with a 5,000-hour recognition pin for her service to that organization. She was instrumental in organizing and promoting the auxiliary Thrift Shop, which operates today at the hospital. She married Calvin P. Dunn in 1919 at Artesia. He died in 1966. Survivors include two sons, Charles Preston Dunn of Portales, and Clyde Calvin Dunn of Prescott, Ariz.; a daughter, Anna Marie Doak of Knoxville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1492, Artesia, NM 88211. Virginia McDonald CLOVIS, N.M. - Virginia McDonald, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 1998. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Ross Dunn, pastor of First United Methodist Church in Portales, officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery. Mrs. McDonald was born in Coleman, Texas, and raised in Marfa, Texas, by an aunt and uncle. She graduated from McMurray College. She married Howard McDonald in 1932 at Marfa. They moved to Los Angeles shortly after their marriage. In 1934, they moved to Portales, where she was employed in the county clerk's office. He died Sept. 4. Mrs. McDonald was a member of the Portales Chapter No. 26 Order of the Eastern Star, Portales Woman's Club, First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. Survivors include a son, Dr. Bill McDonald of Ajo, Ariz.; a daughter, Karen Ann Reagan of Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandsons, Kirk McDonald of San Jose, Calif., and Derek Reagan of Tempe, Ariz. Ernest Napoleon Martinez DES MOINES, N.M. - Ernest Napoleon Martinez, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 1998. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Guadalupe by the Rev. George Silva, pastor. Burial will be in the Des Moines Catholic Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mr. Martinez was born in Capulin and had lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a World War II veteran. He retired as a state highway department employee. He married Amelia Tarufelli in 1931 at Des Moines. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Amelia Lillie Martinez and Angelia Martinez, both as infants, and four sons, Joe F. "Jackie" Martinez in 1991, Oronzo Martinez in 1967 and Joe and John Joseph, both as infants. Survivors include his wife; six daughters, Julia Wiseley of Des Moines, Alice Gross of Memphis, Tenn., Barbara Trujillo of Albuquerque, Magdelina Garcia of Hobbs, Tina Horman of Winona, Minn., and Anna Sherrod of Amarillo; three sons, Joe A. Martinez of Aurora, Colo., Ernest E. Martinez of Guymon and Bobby Martinez of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Lewis Martinez of Raton; a sister, Susie Martinez of Hobbs; 34 grandchildren; and 58 great-grandchildren. Layne Allen Hopper CLOVIS, N.M. - Layne Allen Hopper, infant son of Lynn and Leslie Hopper of Jane, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 25, 1998. Mr. Humphrey was born and raised near Campo, Colo. He graduated from Campo High School in 1938. He married Phyllis Williams in 1943 at Gove. In 1972 they moved to the Elkhart area. He farmed and was a custom cutter. For the past 11 years he had worked for the Texas County Road Department. He was a member of the Elkhart Church of God. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leon Humphrey of Elkhart and Verle Humphrey of Rolla; a daughter, Velda Kay Coen of rural Elkhart; two brothers, Roscoe Humphrey and Howard Humphrey, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Lois Gruenbaum of Cupertino, Calif., and Bernice Kunau of Rush, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Helen Moseley LUBBOCK - Helen Moseley, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in W.W. Rix Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Bob Batson officiating. Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery. Mrs. Moseley was born in Silverton and moved to Lubbock at age 5. She was a graduate of Lubbock High School and had been employed by Texas Mental Health and Mental Retardation. She sold Mary Kay cosmetics for 25 years and was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Rebekah Lodge and ABWA. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lynn Witt, in 1965. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Carter of Vega; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
