Mr. Brillhart was born in Shattuck, Okla., and had lived in Perryton most of his life. He was a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute. He was a truck driver for Groendyke Trucking. He married Bonnie Hastie in 1981 at Perryton. Survivors include his wife; seven daughters, Candace Brillhart, Renee Dorman and Marlene Bryan, all of Perryton, Donna Holley of Amarillo, Dana Mogg of Stillwell, Okla., Dixie Taylor of Kermit and Thersa Lamoureux of Mounds, Okla.; four sons, Joel Brillhart of Haskell, Okla., Dennis Brillhart and Danny Brillhart, both of Amarillo and Charles Painter of Perryton; and 21 grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Dec. 1, 1999 Daisy Mae Graves PERRYTON - Daisy Mae Graves, 89, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Holly Chapel of First Baptist Church of Perryton with the Rev. Ted Latham officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree County Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. Mrs. Graves was born in Okeene, Okla., and lived in Shattuck, Okla., until she was four when her family moved to Colorado. The family moved to Waka in 1924 then made their home in Perryton. For more than 50 years, Mrs. Graves was an active member of the First Baptist Church and was a member of the Fidelis Matrons Sunday School Class. She also made quilts. She married James Alvin Graves in 1928 at Perryton. He died in 1967. Survivors include two sons, Elmer Graves of Hathaway Pines, Calif., and Don Graves of Tyler; a daughter, Elaine Farner of Daleville, Ala.; a brother, James Battin of Perryton; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Ms. Gower was born in Honey Grove, was raised in Dumas and spent most of her adult life in the Texas Panhandle. In 1990, she moved to Dalhart and worked as a waitress for K-Bob's for many years. A native of Webb City, Mo., Mr. Dorris was a Borger resident for 56 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired as operator for Gulf Oil Co. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he was post commander from 1957 until 1960. He was preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne Dorris, in 1995 and a son, Durward Randall Dorris, in 1952. Survivors include a son, Mark Dorris of Canadian; a daughter, Jean Seiss of Santa Fe, N.M.; a brother, W.E. Dorris of Panhandle; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Amarillo Daily News, Dec. 1, 1999 Jewel Masten PLAINVIEW - Jewel Masten, 97, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tommy Ewing, retired Methodist minister of Tulia, and the Rev. Horace Abbott, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Masten was born in Comanche, where she was raised. She moved to Merkel then to Hale County in 1921. With her husband, she farmed northeast of Plainview until retiring in 1980. She then moved to Plainview. Mrs. Masten was a member of WSCS, the Liberty Home Demonstration Club and Trinity United Methodist Church. Until it closed, she was a member of Liberty Methodist Church. She married Horace L. Masten in 1924 at Plainview. He died in 1988. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Colleen Thomason, in 1974. Survivors include two daughters, Bettye Graham of Plainview and Joan Adams of Lubbock; two sisters, Velma Hammond of Plainview and Florence Leonardo of Redondo Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Lemons Funeral Home in Plainview. Mrs. Little was born in Decatur, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 1912. She moved to Plainview that year and graduated from Wayland College in 1914 with degree in education. She taught in Sunshine, Prairie View, Hooper and Sciens Hill schools until her retirement in 1928. From 1928 until moving to Plainview in 1944, she lived in the Hooper community. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Mrs. Amick's Sunday School Class and the Live Lone and Like It Club. She moved to Olton in 1993. She was preceded in death by a son, L. Beeman Hendrick, in June. Survivors include two daughters, Maye Belle Ogle of Halfway and Mary Lee Pinkerton of Plainview; a son, John D. Hendrick of Ingram; a brother, H.K. In 1951, he moved to Borger and owned Wright Drug and Variety. He retired from 4-R Supply as an industrial equipment salesman. He married Gerry Longstreth in 1945. She died in 1990. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. The Rev. Goodman was born in Oklahoma and was a 1943 graduate of Muleshoe High School. During World War II, he served in the Marine Corps. He attended Texas Tech University and Southwestern Assemblies of God College. The Rev. Goodman was an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God. He served churches in North and West Texas districts, Arizona and Colorado. He married Naomi Gregory in 1958 at Dallas. From 1935 to 1973, he owned Kester's Jewelry in Hereford. He moved to Amarillo in 1986. He had been a member of Hereford Masonic Lodge Post 849, where he also served as a past master. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Khiva Shrine, serving as district deputy grand master of district 100 in 1965. He had served in the Texas National Guard. Mr. Kester was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church. He married Katherine Findley in 1933 at Sudan. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathlyn Walls of Amarillo and Carolyn Allmon of De Soto; a son, Bill Kester of Amarillo; a sister, Nell Culpepper of Hereford; a brother, Hal Kester of Seattle; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pat Hoffman and Deacon Pete Valdez officiating. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Mausoleum with private family committal. Mr. Harper was born in Secaucus, N.J. During World War II, he served from 1942 until 1946 as a corporal with the Fifth Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater. He was a staff sergeant with the 36th Texas Division of the National Guard. In 1948, Mr. Harper moved to Amarillo, where he was a civil service employee at the Amarillo Air Force Base from 1951 until 1967. He retired from Bell Helicopter in 1988. Mr. Harper was a founding member of St. Laurence Cathedral. He also was a founding charter member of the Amarillo Longhorn Model A Ford Club and the Panhandle Model A Ford Club. He married Neoma "Nomie" Turner in 1943 at Memphis. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Nora Limoges and Ann Stambaugh, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Grace Russ of Forked River, N.J., and Emily Cattuna of Secaucus; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Dec. 1, 1999 W.T. Julien W.T. "Bill" Julien, 70, of Amarillo, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Claude Cemetery with Dr. David Evans, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Julien was born in Belen, N.M., and was raised in Belen and Amarillo. He graduated from Belen High School. In 1946, he was employed by Santa Fe Railway as an operator/messenger at Belen. From 1951 until 1953, he served in the Army's signal corps in Germany during the Korean War. He moved to Amarillo in 1953 to work for Santa Fe as printer clerk. He transferred to Chicago in 1967 and to Los Angeles in 1970, where he served as superintendent of communications systems-operations until his retirement in 1987. Mr. Julien moved to Alamogordo, N.M., to farm. He returned to Amarillo in February. He was a 50-year member of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge No. 56 AF&AM at Belen. He married Linda Brannin in 1951 at Belen. He was preceded in death by his wife in October and a son, Joseph "Charles" Julien, in 1983. Survivors include a daughter, Leah J. Armstrong of Amarillo; two sisters, Lillian Jordan of Tucson, Ariz., and Betty Comstock of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Joe Julien of Anchorage, Alaska; and three grandchildren. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Mickie Pollard in 1949 at Clovis, N.M. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary James Hester, in 1998. She graduated from Knox School for Girls and Miss Finch's Finishing School in New York City. In her youth, she was involved in competitive swimming and was one of the original members of T Bar M Raquet Club. Mrs. Dawson was a member of the Amarillo Country Club Ladies Golf Association, the Gainey Ladies Golf Association of Scottsdale and a former member of the Amarillo Junior League. She married Allen Dawson Jr. in 1951 at Katona, N.Y. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sybil Dickinson of Monroe, Ga.; three sons, Allen Dawson III of Amarillo and Berkley V. She graduated from Oklahoma University in 1934 and was a licensed vocational nurse. She was a member of Eastern Star in Norman, Okla., and the First Christian Church, where she sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter LaFon, in 1991. Survivors include two sons, Lynn LaFon of Lubbock and Robert W. Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at Highland Cemetery at Ozark. Arrangements were by Siegler Funeral Home of Matador. Mrs. Rattan, a former resident of Matador, had been a resident of Salinas, Calif., for many years before moving to Ozark. She and her husband, J. Carroll, operated a variety store in Salinas before retiring. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Ozark and of the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995 and also by a son, Bill Rattan. Survivors include a son, Bob Rattan of Ozark; two daughters, Ruth Christman of Fair Oaks, Calif., and Carolyn Lumsden of Hemet, Calif.; a sister, Gerry Sargent of Salinas; a brother, T.F.
