Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Marlon Sparks officiating. Mr. Bunch was born in Borger and grew up in Perryton. He was a pipeline welder and member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Perryton. He married Lori Zachary in 1989 at Wheeler. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Melonie Bunch of Byers; his parents, David and Linda Bunch of Perryton; and a sister, Angela Hammonds of Perryton. The family suggests memorials be to Ochiltree General Hospital in Perryton or the MS Society. Edward McMullen FRITCH - Edward McMullen, 78, died Thursday, April 29, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Westlawn Memorial Park with the Rev. Brad Foster, pastor of Lake Meredith Church of Fritch, officiating. Burial in the Garden of Love is by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Mr. McMullen was born in Dilly and moved to Fritch 17 years ago from Mena, Ark. In 1982, he retired as a factory worker for U.S. Electrical Motors. He then worked for the Sanford/Fritch Independent School District for five years. He was a member of Lake Meredith Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda McMullen, in 1992. Survivors include a son, Carl E. McCallie of Fritch; two daughters, Tina Kossey of Fritch and Renee Murray of Claremore, Okla; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family will be staying at 512 Arroya Verde in Fritch. Fred Stagner HEREFORD - Fred Stagner, 85, died Friday, April 30, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Parkside Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Cosby officiating. Private burial was Friday in Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Hereford. Mr. Stagner was born in Castro County and graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1932. From 1944 until 1954, he served in the Merchant Marines. He worked as a hotel clerk in San Francisco for many years. In 1986, he moved to Hereford. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include a sister, Della Stagner, and a brother, Earl Stagner, both of Hereford. The family suggests memorials be to the Sandy Stagner Scholarship Fund, c/o the Hereford Brand or the Hereford Senior Citizens. Albert Burr Cullender HARTLEY - Albert Burr Cullender, 85, died Friday, April 30, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Hartley Cemetery in Hartley with Masonic rites by Rock Island Masonic Lodge No. 869. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mr. Cullender graduated from Hartley High School and went to work for Farmers Supply Co., in 1936. He later was employed by Shamrock Oil and Gas where he was noted for his outstanding attendance record. He was a 50-plus year member of the Masons and a partner for life with Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. He married Mayme Ueland Dykes in 1948 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include a son, Albert Burr Cullender Jr. of Claude; a daughter, DyAnna Ellis of Choctaw, Okla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Shriner's Children's Hospitals or Cal Farley's Boys Ranch. Joe Earleen Atchley Crook FRITCH - Joe Earleen Atchley Crook, 71, died Friday, April 30, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Southern Baptist Church of Fritch with the Rev. Trey Roberson and the Rev. D.C. Lindley officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Good Shepherd in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch. Mrs. Crook was born in Oldham County and had been a Fritch resident since 1954. A homemaker, she was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Fritch Arts and Crafts Club and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She married Lewis Earl "Jack" Crook in 1947 at Borger. She was preceded in death by a son, Alton Wade Cook, in 1964. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jackie Crook of Fritch and Terry Crook of White Deer; two daughters, Annette Wilson of Fritch and Karen McWilliams of Amarillo; a sister, Robbie Hart of Toledo, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo M. Joan Fowlkes M. Joan Fowlkes, 69, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in West Amarillo Christian Church with Rick D. Mathis, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Fowlkes was born in Amarillo. She was a member and Bible teacher at West Amarillo Christian Church and taught art in her studio. She hosted foreign students through YMCA for many years. She was an active member of WAGGS Recreational Vehicle Club. She married Charles Glenn Fowlkes in 1951 in Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Sandra L. Dunn of Oxford, Ohio; two sons, Brad N. Fowlkes and Bo Fowlkes, both of Amarillo; four sisters; two brothers; and six grandchildren. Martinez, 60, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 29, 1999. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today in St. Mary's Catholic Church by the Rev. Ken Keller. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia. Ms. Martinez was born and raised in San Saba. She moved to Amarillo in 1970. She worked for Amarillo College and also for the Amarillo Independent School District for many years. Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Rojas and Ruthanne Miller, both of Amarillo; three sons, Rod Albert Martinez of Amarillo, Roland Martinez of Houston and Ronald Martinez of Minneapolis; father and stepmother, Francisco and Elodia Martinez of San Saba; and six grandchildren. New Mexico Loreta Bradford CLOVIS, N.M. - Loreta Bradford, 101, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in 16th & Pile Church of Christ with Willie Tolison officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Bradford was born in De Soto and moved to Causey in 1907 in a covered wagon. She married William Virgil Bradford in 1919. She and her husband carried the mail from the train to the post office for many years. After his death, she worked at Levine's and Anthony's as a seamstress. She worked nearly 20 years caring for the sick and elderly, retiring in her early 70s. She was a charter member of 16th and Pile Church of Christ. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Wauwiece Bradford, in 1948. Survivors include a grandson, Gerard Bradford of Clovis; a sister, Lucy Bell Hunnicutt of Albuquerque; two greatgranddaughters; and four great-greatgrandchildren. The family requests memorials, in lieu of flowers, be to the Christian Children's Home at Portales in memory of Loreta Bradford. O.W. Birdwell CLAYTON, N.M. - O.W. "Brownie" Birdwell, 83, died Thursday, April 29, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Andy Husted, pastor, and the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mr. Birdwell was born in Knoxville, Tenn., and graduated from Clayton High School in 1937. A longtime Clayton resident, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Clayton Golf Club. He married Mary Roberts in 1938 at Clayton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Lynn Smith, in 1984. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Brownell Keeth of Clayton; a son, Bill Birdwell of Clayton; a brother, Ted Birdwell of St. George, Utah; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Morris Neil McQueen TECATE, MEXICO - Morris Neil McQueen, 65, a former resident of the Borger and Wheeler areas, died Saturday, April 10, 1999, at Tecate, Mexico. Cremation was by Villatorios V.I.P. Mortuary at Tecate. Mr. McQueen was born in Borger and raised in Wheeler. He graduated in 1952 from Wheeler High School. He served four years in the intelligence branch of the Air Force and was stationed two years in Turkey. After his discharge, he attended Texas Tech University at Lubbock, graduating in 1960 with a degree in business administration. After graduation, he worked for Ford Motor Co., living in Mexico, Argentina and France. He returned to the United States in 1975, settling in San Francisco, and later retiring to Tecate, Calif. Survivors include two sons, Michael McQueen and Martin McQueen, both of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Alton E. McQueen of Amarillo; and a sister, Nina Walls of Amarillo. Helen Virginia Longstreth Taggart TEMPLE CITY, Calif. - Helen Virginia Longstreth Taggart, 85, a former Amarillo resident, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at Monrovia, Calif. Memorial services will be held Saturday, May 15, out of Ports-O-Call at San Pedro, Calif. Her remains will be placed in the ocean during a family ceremony. Arrangements were by the Neptune Society. Mrs. Taggart was born in Waynesburg, Pa., and raised in Amarillo. She married Bruce Lawrence Taggart and they moved to the Los Angeles area where she worked as an accounts payable clerk. She retired from Stuart Pharmaceutical at Pasadena. Survivors include a son, John Taggart of San Gabriel; two sisters, Gladys Dickson and Mary Easley, both of Amarillo; a brother, John Longstreth of Las Vegas, Nev.; and three grandchildren.
