Georgia St. Mr. Burrow was born in Sayre, Okla. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was employed as a truck driver and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Witt and Sonya Mackey, both of Amarillo, and Jackie Burrow of Las Vegas; two sons, Ralph "Eddy" Burrow of Anchorage, Alaska and Marlon Stuart of Lawrenceville, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hatley moved to Amarillo 50 years ago from Wichita Falls. She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Valley Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses Church. She married Jack Hatley in 1947 at Crosbyton. He died in 1987. The family will be at 315 Popular. Lillie Ellen Woodward Lillie Ellen Woodward, 98, of Amarillo, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Woodward was born in Johnson County, Ark., and had lived in Amarillo for 11/2 years. She previously lived in Tulsa, Okla., Houston, Colorado City, Overton and Texarkana. She was a homemaker and active in the Baptist church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She married David Edwin Woodward in 1918 at Okmulgee, Okla. He died in 1986. Survivors include four daughters, Virginia Woodward Jones of Amarillo, Dorothy W. Larrabee of Tulsa, Norma M. Thomas of Overton and Marjorie Gramza of Molalla, Ore.; a son, James David Woodward of Houston; a sister, Laverne Radcliff of Nowata, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Albert James Hood Albert James Hood, 70, of Pampa and formerly of Amarillo, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999. Services will be at 6 p.m. today in Warford-Walker Mortuary Chapel of Roses, 509 N. Hughes, with the Rev. Howard Romaine, pastor of New Zion Baptist Church of Borger, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Mangum, Okla. Mr. Hood was a native of Mangum and had been an Amarillo resident for more than 30 years. He retired as custodian from the Amarillo Independent School District. Mr. Hood was a member of the Church of the Living God in Amarillo. In 1994, he moved to Pampa. Survivors include a special friend, Everline Hampton; his stepmother, Emma Hood of Albuquerque, N.M.; a stepbrother, Bobby Hood of Salt Lake City, Utah; two sisters, Jo Ann Jackson and Lille Mae Levi, both of Pampa; and a stepsister, Patsy Hood of Albuquerque. Robert O. Sinclair Jr. Robert O. Sinclair Jr., 59, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Garrett Cemetery in Boise City, Okla. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Sinclair was born in Stafford, Kan., and moved to Amarillo from Brownsville. He was a longtime electrician and general contractor. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 602 and the National Rifle Association. He was formerly married to Patsy Alexander Sinclair. Survivors include a son, Robert O. Sinclair III of Fernwood, Miss,; a daughter, Leslie R. Canyon Barbara Jean Britt Wirt HEREFORD - Barbara Jean Britt Wirt, 71, former Canyon resident, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church in Canyon with Dr. Strauss Atkinson, pastor emeritus, and Dr. Charles Price, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Home of Canyon. Mrs. Wirt was born in Broken Bow, Okla., and grew up in DeQueen, Ark. She lived in Canyon for 28 years. She was active in First Baptist Church where she supported youth activities and mission groups. Her civic work included the University Study Club, Cub Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts. Mrs. Wirt help organize and served as charter president of the auxiliary of the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. She helped secure scholarships for West Texas A&M University students and was a volunteer for "Texas." She was a member of Business Women's Bridge Club and a 50-year member of the Canyon City Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. From 1973 until 1988, Mrs. Wirt lived in Colorado where she owned and operated the Feed Store Gift Shop, Pagosa Springs Gallery of Art in Pagosa Springs, Colo., the Gold Spike Gift Shop in Silverton and Tiffany's Hallmark in Portales, N.M. She then moved to Hereford. She married Wayne V. Wirt Sr., in 1945. Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Tardy of Lubbock; a son, Vince Wirt of Canyon; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, 171 Fourth Ave., Canyon, TX 79015. New Mexico Sam Saiz Sr. CLOVIS, N.M. - Sam Saiz Sr., 79, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. today in Sacred Heart Catholic Church by the Rev. Sotero Sena. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories Cemetery with military rites by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home Inc. Mr. Saiz was born in Encino. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart. He married Senovia Flores in 1945 at Vaughn. They moved to Clovis in 1959. Mr. Saiz worked for Clovis Steam Laundry as a delivery driver for 15 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 25, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3015, and Disabled American Veterans. He also was a Catholic. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Manuel Saiz, Joe Saiz and Sam Saiz Jr., all of Clovis; two daughters, Flora Saiz of Middletown, Ohio, and Emily Montoya of Clovis; six sisters, Della Apodaca, Rose Sena, Alice Lopez, and Eloida Sandoval, all of Clovis, and Antonia Sena and Frutosa Madrid, both of Fort Sumner; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Kenny R. Ashcraft CLOVIS, N.M. - Kenny R. Ashcraft, 63, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Parkland Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by SteedTodd Funeral Home. Mr. Ashcraft was born in Corona. He was a construction worker prior to working for Santa Fe Railway for 20 years. Mrs. Willis was born in Bartlesville, Okla., and lived in Amarillo from 1945 until 1980 when she moved to Albuquerque. She was a retired travel agency owner and business woman. Survivors include her husband, Howard; two sons, Robert "Bobby" Willis of Albuquerque and Donald Willis of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother, Richard Fox of Boulder, Colo.; a sister, Phyllis Lawson of Parker, Colo.; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Area Lorene Brock Riley CLARENDON - Lorene Brock Riley, 77, a former Amarillo resident, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery. Ms. Riley was born in Ink, Ark., and moved to Donley County in 1940, where she attended schools. She lived in Amarillo prior to retiring to Pottsboro in the mid1980s. During World War II, she worked at the Sacramento Air Technical Service Command at McClellan Field, Calif. She also worked as a cosmetologist at Tillies Beauty Shop in Clarendon. Survivors include three sisters, her twin Irene Stewart of White Deer, Marjorie Holland of Lelia Lake and Mable Dean Wilson of Clarendon; two brothers, Boyd Brock of La Pine, Ore., and Orin Brock of Chester, Calif. He was an employee of the city of Pampa for 38 years, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Church of God. He married Gearldean Darby in 1950. Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Christian of Fritch and Bobby Christian of Borger; two daughters, Linda Vick of Fritch and Theresa Wells of Skellytown; a sister, Freda Whitson of Pampa; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Thomas Franklin Tanzey BORGER - Thomas Franklin Tanzey, 55, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999. Mr. Tanzey was born in Doylestown, Pa., and had lived in the Stinnett/Borger area for 53 years. He was an Air Force veteran and had been a truck driver for G.P. Guinn Trucking Co. He was a Baptist. He married Cheryl Sims in 1972 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Joseph of the home, Richard of Pampa and Thomas of Hagarstown, Md.; a brother, Alvin Earl Tanzey of Alexandria, La.; a sister, Janice Sullivan of Borger; and four grandsons. Clyde Bob Markham WHEELER - Clyde Bob Markham, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Zybach Cemetery in Briscoe with the Rev. Robert Meller, pastor of First Baptist Church of Allison, officiating. Masonic rites will be by Lodge No. 1099 of Wheeler and arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home, Wheeler. Mr. Markham was a lifelong resident of Wheeler and Hemphill counties where he was a farmer and rancher. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Allison and a 60-plus year member of the Masonic Lodge No. 1099. As a Mason, he served in every capacity and every chair. He married Marylu Kinsey in 1943 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jay and George Markham. Survivors include wife; a daughter, Clydene Hall of Allison; four brothers, C.H. Markham of Hico, Ralph Markham of Bernalillo, N.M., Glenn Markham of Wheeler and Cecil Markham of Lubbock; a sister, Avis Parker of Wheeler; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Allen Evans BORGER - Allen Evans, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Love in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Evans was born in Eldorado, Ark. A Borger resident for 50 years, he moved from Pampa. He was a Navy veteran and gave expert testimony before the U.S. Congress. Mr. Evans was employed as chief gas engineer for J.M. Huber Corp. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Society of Professional Engineers, Texas Exes and Fantasia Dance Club. He moved to Plano in 1997. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, in 1996. Survivors include four sons, Tony Evans and George Evans, both of Plano, Brian Evans of Corpus Christi and Louis Evans of Lenexa, Kan.; two brothers, Clinton Evans of Scottsdale, Ariz., and James Evans of Georgetown; and two grandchildren. Mr. Winters was born in Bent County, Colo. He had lived in Claude before moving to Canadian four years ago. He married Anne B. Young in 1983 at Dumas. His first wife, Lola "Pep" Winters, died in 1975. Survivors include his wife; a son, Melvin Winters of Guymon, Okla.; three stepsons, Chris Young, Larry Young and Mac Young, all of Canadian; three daughters, Alta Mae Brown of Las Animas, Chyrl Roman of Amarillo and Charlene Thompson of Claude; a stepdaughter, Terry Thomas of Canadian; a brother, Edward R. She was a homemaker and member of La Iglesia de San Jose. She married Pedro Covarrubia in Mexico and moved to Texas in 1970. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Lynch was born in Hennepin, Okla., and moved to Plainview in 1907. She graduated from Plainview High School in 1919 and attended Watson Business College. She was a nurse at Plainview Hospital for many years and a member of 11th and Amarillo Street Church of Christ. She married Berry Noble Lynch in 1920 at Plainview. He died in 1989. Survivors include a son, Tye Pat Lynch of Fort Davis; two brothers, J.M. Tye of Lockney and Ben Tye of Kress; a sister, Cleda Byars of Fort Worth; and three grandchildren. Laura M. Studebaker PAMPA - Laura M. Studebaker, 83, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Thacker Haynes, pastor of First United Methodist Church of McLean, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Studebaker was born in Gray County. She had been a Pampa resident for many years before moving to their ranch south of town in the early 1960s. She was a Baptist. She married Glenn Studebaker in 1934 at Pampa. Survivors include her husband; a son, Harold Studebaker of McLean; three half brothers, Don Prater, Weldon Prater and Gene Prater; a half sister, May Louise Prather; and a grandson.
