Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Highland Park Cemetery with Gary Bodine, minister of Borger Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors. Mrs. Smith was a native of Pilot Point and had been a resident of Borger for 56 years. She was a member of Borger Church of Christ. She was a retired clerk for Kmart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben "Smitty" Smith in 1988. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Phares of Borger and Linda Graham of Amarillo; a brother, Wayne Norman of Stinnett; and two grandsons. The family requests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176. Joe Bautista MORTON - Joe Bautista, 47, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Leonardo Pahamtang officiating. Burial will be in Morton Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Morton. Mr. Bautista was a lifetime resident of Morton where he was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. He was the 1969 Junior Golden Gloves Boxing champion. He was a truck driver. He married Ninfa Flores in 1974 at New Home. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Omar Louis Bautista and Jason Bautista of Morton; his father, Joe Bautista of Morton; four sisters, Aurora Dominguez of Fort Worth, Lucy Lovington of Hereford, Dolores Acosta of Ralls and Ana Marie Bautista of Portales, N.M.; and a brother, Arnold Bautista of Levelland. Maudine Dana Richmond TURKEY - Maudine Dana Richmond, 81, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Church of Christ in Turkey with Stuart Smith officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Turkey. Mrs. Richmond was born in Gasoline where she graduated from high school in 1935. A resident of Turkey since her marriage, she farmed with her husband and was a member of the Turkey Church of Christ. She married E.D. Richmond in 1939 at Rock Creek. He died in 1984. Survivors include two sons, Lonnie Richmond of Houston and Ronnie Richmond of Anson; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Gladys Horton Whitacre PLAINVIEW - Gladys Horton Whitacre, 95, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Max Browning, pastor, and Michael Struve, chaplain for Covenant Health Care Systems in Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Whitacre was born in Osceola, Iowa, and moved to Hale Center in 1909 where she graduated from high school in 1921. She received her teaching certificate from West Texas Normal College. Her first school was in Ware, then she moved to Lakeview. For 17 years, Mrs. Whitacre taught at Hale Center where she also was principal of the high school. In 1952, she moved to Plainview where she taught biology. Mrs. Whitacre chartered the Junior National Honor Society at Plainview High School. She was a member of Plainview Delphin Club, Retired Teachers Association, First United Methodist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. She married Cecil A. Whitacre in 1929 at Plainview. He died in 1976. Survivors include a sister, Minnie Horton Struve of Abernathy, and several nieces and Nephews. Amarillo Otis Dee Garrett Otis Dee Garrett, 74, of Amarillo, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Canyon Hills Church of Christ. Additional arrangements will be by Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth. Mr. Garrett was born and raised in Rush Springs, Okla. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in Hawaii as a tail gunner. He retired from Bell Helicopter at Fort Worth in 1986 and moved to Amarillo. He was a member of Canyon Hills Church of Christ. He married Vida Lucille Metcalf in 1942 at Frederick, Okla. She died June 1998. Survivors include two children, Marion Thompson of Amarillo and Gene Garrett of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He attended Texas Tech University and West Texas A&M University. For several years, he was a machinist at Allied Machine and Welding. He was a member of Southwest Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents, Michael and DeEva Boyles of Amarillo; a sister, Michele Boyles of Amarillo; a brother, Billy Boyles of Amarillo; his grandparents, Maurice and Mae Bratton of Amarillo and Mr. and Mrs. Billy W. Boyles of Deming, N.M. Joyce Fay Pedroza Joyce Fay Pedroza, 39, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999. For five years, she was in housekeeping at Northwest Texas Hospital. She was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church. She married Alfredo Pedroza in 1977 at Plainview. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Joshua Pedroza and Alfredo Pedroza Jr., both of the home; her parents, Paul and Priscella Samaniego; five brothers, Paul Samaniego Jr., of Amarillo, and her twin Lloyd Samaiego, Johnny Samaniego, Matthew Samaniego and Joe Samaniego, all of Dalhart; four sisters, Susie Ramos and Sylvia Cortinez, both of Amarillo, Carolyn Blanco of Panhandle and Rita Samaniego; and a grandchild. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. A native of El Cajon, Calif., Mr. Richards was an Air Force veteran and a riveter in transport trailer construction. He was a member of Bell Avenue Baptist Church of Amarillo. Darrell Foster, Assembly of God minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home of Canyon. Mrs. Seibert was born in Spearman. A homemaker, she was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Amarillo where she sang in the choir. Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Hudson of Canyon, Sharon Smith of Dallas and Debbie West of Borger; a sister, Emma Lou Steel of Grand Prairie; a brother, Robert E. She retired as owner of a grocery store and moved to San Antonio four years ago. She was a Baptist. She married Claude H. Cacy in 1946 at Clovis, N.M. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1962 and by a daughter, Olga Turnbo, in 1993. Survivors include a brother, Gary Breeden of Lebanon, Ohio; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Tyler G. Loshy LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Tyler G. Loshy, 16, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday in the Christ Fellowship Church of Atlanta, Norcross, Ga., with Joe McReynolds, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Gwinnett Memorial Park by Bill Head Funeral Homes, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel in Tucker. A native of Dallas, Tyler was a member of Boy Scout Troop No. 594 of Calvary Chapel-Gwinnett and the Community Church of Christ in Loganville. He was preceded in death by his father, John E. Loshy. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Renee and Jeff Tarbutton of Lawrenceville; six sisters, Bethany, Joanna, Rebekah, Abigail, Lydia and Corrie Tarbutton, all of Lawrenceville; five brothers, Jordan Loshy of England and Joel, Joshua, Luke and Jonathan Tarbutton, all of Lawrenceville; his grandparents, Reba and John Dellis of Amarillo, Gwen and Steve McKinney of Dallas and Georgia and Tommy Ware of Durango, Colo.; and his great-grandparents, Everetta Loshy of Titusville, Fla., and Edith Ware and Corinne Reed, both of Amarillo.
