Burial will be in the Garden of Beatitudes by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors, Borger. Mrs. Ashford was born in Henrietta and moved to Borger from Farmington, N.M. She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and of Central Baptist Church. She married Benjamin "Buddy" Ashford in 1981. He died in 1998. Her first husband, Claude Jones, died in 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Jerry Patterson of Borger; a sister, Retha Bucher of Borger; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1002 Coble St. in Borger. Kate Truelock OLTON - Kate Truelock, 86, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today in Olton Cemetery with Rick Harper, Main Street Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Foskey-LilleyMcGill Funeral Home. Mrs. Truelock was born in Tomkinsville, Ky. and moved to Vernon, and then to Olton in 1929. She was a member of Main Street Church of Christ. She married Ed Truelock in 1932. He died in 1994. Survivors include two daughters, Uelala Durham of Littlefield and Gaylene Smith of Olton; two sons, James D. Truelock of Denison and David Truelock of Fort Worth; a sister, Mary Chancelor of Ardmore, Okla.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Running Water Draw Care Center, Olton. Maggie Denham QUANAH - Maggie Denham, 98, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999. Mrs. Denham was born in Montague County and in 1919, moved to Hardeman County, where she was a homemaker and a member of Church of Christ. She married Luther Denham in 1919. He died in 1986. She was also preceded in death by a son, Rayburn Denham, in 1968, a daughter, Norma Jean Denham, in 1932, a grandson and a great-grandson. Survivors include a daughter, Nelda Rue Hill of Harker Heights; a son Bennie Denham of Quanah; a sister, Eltha Gibson of Breckenridge; 23 grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. W.F. Howard Jr. WHEELER - W.F. Howard Jr., 75, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Lewis Ellis, pastor of First Baptist Church, Lefors, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Howard was born in Childress, moved from Quail to Mobeetie in 1968 and to Wheeler in 1987. He graduated from Carey High School and earned a BBA, MBA and an Administrator's Certificate from West Texas State College. He was a teacher and administrator for 37 years in Briscoe, Quail, Lakeview, Lelia Lake and Mobeetie until his retirement in 1987. He served in the Army during World War II. He married Betty Gollihugh in 1956. Survivors include his wife; three sons, William F. "Bill" Howard III of Wheeler, Kelly Howard of Panhandle and Dennis Michael Howard of Amarillo; two brothers, Roy L. Howard of Childress and Travis L. Howard of New Braunfels; and two grandchildren. Mr. Arreola was born in Juarez, Mexico and had lived in the Gruver area most of his life. He was a veteran of the Marines and was in the Reserves. Mrs. Kear was born in Balko, Okla. A former resident of Clayton, she moved to Oklahoma City in 1952, and to Alturas, Calif. 10 years ago. She married Herman W. Kear in 1930. He died in 1970. She was also preceded in death by a son, Clyde Dean Kear, in 1950, by two infant daughters, Ruby Kear and Beulah Kear, and by five grandchildren. Oklahoma Thelma Moore BOISE CITY, Okla. - Thelma Moore, 79, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999. Mrs. Moore was born in Tate County, Miss., moved to Clayton, N.M., grew up in the Seneca community and graduated from high school at Clayton, N.M. She lived and worked on the Moore family farm near Wheeless, was a member of the Senior Citizens Center, and was named Volunteer of the Year by GTE. She married Hollys Moore in 1940. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Corine. He received a doctorate in theology from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Dr. Garner was a book merchandiser for Anderson Merchandiser. He served with the Marines in Vietnam. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile and Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She married Henry H. Whitfield in 1944. He died in 1999. She was the mother of James Henry Whitfield who also died in 1999. He married Flora Emily Davis in 1944. She died in 1999. He was the father of James Henry Whitfield who also died in 1999. Survivors include two sons, Ronny Whitfield and Jerry David Whitfield, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Carri Ann Cronig of Lewisville; a brother, Jerry Whitfield of Amarillo; a sister, Lela Gene Chandler of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
