No services are scheduled at this time and the body will not be available for viewing. Cremation and arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Satterfield was born in Fairmont, W.Va., where he attended schools and business college. In 1952, he enlisted in the Air Force as a short-wave radio operator and jet-engine mechanic. He was stationed in Germany, Michigan, Texas, Illinois, Mississippi and Nevada during his 11-year career. In Amarillo, Mr. Satterfield was employed by Bell Helicopter, Asarco, Brown and Root, Amarillo Gear Co., and Electrolux. Survivors include a son, Gary A. Satterfield of Amarillo; two daughters, Brenda K. Abbott of Canyon and Glenda D. Hill of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Margaret Satterfield and Donna Clark, both of Toledo, Ohio; and six grandchildren. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to a favorite charity. Brandon Heath Howard Brandon Heath Howard, 26, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999. Mrs. Fansler was born and raised in Independence and moved to Amarillo in 1952. She helped her husband run Don's Saveway Service. Until 1992, she was a PBX operator for the city of Amarillo. Mrs. Fansler was a member of the Texas Panhandle Chapter of the Model A Ford Club and the Amarillo Antique Auto Club. She married Donald M. Fansler in 1948 at Independence. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Eugene Fansler, in 1957. In 1914 she received a degree in Education from East Central College, Oklahoma, taught the sixth grade in Oklahoma City, and later taught English at the Hereford POW camp. She retired after 30 years as a time clerk for Santa Fe Railway where she was founder of the Railroad Women's Association. She was a member of St. John Eastern Orthodox Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Manolis, in 1983; by a son, Jack Manolis, and by a daughter, Mary Ann Cadman. Mr. Douglass was born near Amistad, N.M., and worked as a night operator for the telephone company and other odd jobs while attending high school in Ashland. For more than 10 years, he worked for lumber companies and later retired as a farmer. He spent the winters in McAllen and Weslaco from 1972 until moving to Amarillo in 1993. He was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. In 1930, he married Mary Elizabeth Carls. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Geraldine Douglass, in 1974. Survivors include his wife; a son, Gerald A. Douglass of Amarillo; a brother, Dwight Douglass of Holiday, Fla.; two sisters, Daisy Tesh of Lincoln, Ill., and Pearl Skaggs of Pleasant Plains, Ill.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Area Alvin Leo Phillips MEMPHIS - Alvin Leo Phillips, 79, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at Brownfield. Services were at 3 p.m. Saturday in Travis Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Shelton and Neely Landrum officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery by Memphis Funeral Home. Mr. Phillips was born in Newlin. He married Mazine Longshore in Hall County in 1941. He had been a volunteer fireman more than 20 years. He owned and operated a machine shop for many years. He had served on the school board and the city council. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge more than 48 years. His wife died in 1996. Survivors include a son, Ronnie Phillips of Brownsfield; a daughter, Denise Forbis of Paris, Texas; a sister, Ruby Roden of Memphis; and a grandchild. Mrs. Heller was born in Meadville, Mo., and moved to a farm near Edmonson after her marriage. In 1951, they moved to Hart. They moved to Plainview in 1980 where they started Heller Insurance Agency. She was church pianist at Edmonson First Baptist Church and worked with primary- and junior-age boys for many years. She married Everette Heller in 1946 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gary Heller of Plainview and Jerry Heller of Dimmitt; a sister, Mary Dewey of Meadville; a brother, Dick Stelplugh of Springfield, Mo.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. McCoy was born in Rotan and lived in Amarillo for several years before moving to Hedley 16 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Sarah Lee Hosiery and had worked at other places. She was a Presbyterian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack McCoy, in 1988. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Patsy Bayer; a stepson, Donnie McCoy; and several nieces and nephews. Ervin Delp DALHART - Ervin "Erv" Delp, 69, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999. Oklahoma Gladys Powell GUYMON, Okla. - Gladys Powell, 85, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Guymon Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Terry Armstrong officiating and the Rev. Dave Hoover ministering in music. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon. Mrs. Powell was born near Sterling, Kan. In 1930, at the age of 16, she graduated as salutatorian from Elkhart, Kan., High School. She graduated from business college in Dodge City, Kan., in 1932 and then returned to Elkhart. She was employed as an accountant at Elkhart Mill. After her marriage, Mrs. Powell assisted her husband in farming and ranching. She was an active member of the Guymon Church of the Nazarene. For more than 40 years, she was active in the rural, interdenominational Glenrose Church and the Eva Community Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and coordinated children's Bible studies. In 1975 and 1976, Mrs. Powell served as state president of the Oklahoma Extension Homemakers Council. She also was honored by that organization as Homemaker of the Year. She was state representative at regional and national women's conferences and events. In 1976, Guymon honored Mrs. Powell as Woman of the Year for her years in civic service. She was a longtime member of the Guymon Rose Club where she served as local and district president. She coordinated many Guymon beautification projects, was active in Sigma Phi Women's sorority, served as county and state 4-H leader for more than 30 years and served with Loves and Fishes Food Pantry. She married Kenneth Theodore David Powell in 1935. He died in 1975. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Theodore "Ted" Powell of Guymon; three daughters, Mary Jane Northrup of Northridge, Calif., and Melinda Veres and Kristy Patterson, both of Guymon; a brother, Arden Nusser of Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 until 5 p.m. today at Henson-Novak Funeral Home. Elsewhere Bill Wisdom MEDICINE MOUND - Bill Wisdom, 85, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jesse Dea, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery in Vernon by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mr. Wisdom was born in Foard County and was a longtime Hardeman County resident. He attended Thalia and Crowell schools and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Mr. Wisdom was a retired farmer who moved to Medicine Mound in 1949 from Thalia. He was a 60-year member of the Quanah Masonic Lodge, member of the Masket Temple of Wichita Falls, Chapter and Council, 32nd degree Scottish Rite of Fort Worth, York Rite College of Lubbock, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priest of Dallas, Red Cross Constantine of Wichita Falls and past sovereign of Red Cross. He received the Golden Trowel Award of Quanah and the Excalibur award of Vernon Commandery. He married Pauline Giraudin in 1933 at Frederick, Okla. She died in 1996. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Ann Wisdom of Medicine Mound; two sons, Don William Wisdom of Boulder, Colo., and Billy Burton Wisdom of Greenville; five brothers, Doc Wisdom of Escondido, Calif., Jake and Frank Wisdom, both of Thalia, Lew of Lawton, Okla., and Beecher of Safford, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Charlene Spoonemore Daniels GREENVILLE - Charlene Spoonemore Daniels, 32, of Orange and formerly of Celeste, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999. Passmore, pastor of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in City of Lubbock Cemetery by the funeral home. Mrs. Wilson was born in Yantis, and moved from Hereford to Lubbock in 1987. She was a member of both the Hereford Art Guild and Porcelain Artist Club, and was a Baptist. In 1923, she married A.L. Wilson, Sr. He died in 1988. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Ken Wilson and A.L. Wilson, Jr. Survivors include a son, Narrel W. Mr. Hatley was born in Hope, Ark., and moved to Clovis in 1917. He was a veteran of World War II, and retired from Santa Fe Railway as an engineer in 1978. He was a member of First Baptist Church. The family will be at 3008 Axtell in Clovis, and suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. Flora O. Wale CLOVIS, N.M. - Flora O. Wale, 93, died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999. Mrs. Wale was born in Granbury and moved to Clovis in 1953. She was a member of Sandia Baptist Church. Her husband, James Hoyt Wale, preceded her in death. Survivors include five daughters, Jeannean Grant of Kerrville, Geraldine Dobbs of Moore, Okla., Florine Spriggs, Chris Nevins, and Betty Zane (Carpenter) Urban, all of Clovis; a son, Hoyt Rozell Wale of Amarillo; a sister, Edith Lewis; a brother Merlin Brandon of Clovis; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family will be at 309 Cactus today in Clovis. Kansas Richard D. Rose LIBERAL, KAN. - Richard D. Rose, 78, died Friday, Feb. 26, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Phil Shull, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Liberal Cemetery by Miller Mortuary. Mr. Rose was born in Gate, Okla., graduated from Beaver High School in Beaver, Okla., and moved to Liberal in 1946. He was an auto mechanic for Doll Motor Co. until he started the Rose Motor Co. He was the dealer for Pontiac, Oldsmobile and GMC Truck and a member of Kansas Motor Car Association, National Auto Dealers Association and of First United Methodist Church. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. In 1943, he married Victoria Caldwell. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Roger Rose of Amarillo and Mike Rose of Liberal; a brother, Billy Rose of Beaver; four sisters, Dolly Shook of Liberal, Bea Ragen and Pauline Campbell, both of Beaver and Ruth Brown of Hartner, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. today and Monday, and from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday.
