Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jesse Dea, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park. Mr. Spears was born at Dike in Hopkins County and had lived in Quanah for most of his life. He retired from the Quanah, Acme and Pacific Railway and the Santa Fe Railway and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He married Francis Elaine Dunlap in 1932 at Hollis, Okla. She died in 1991. His daughter, Mary Lydia Sue Spears, died in 1975. His grandson, Steve West, died in 1992. Survivors include two sons, Eddie Spears of Anson and Jimmy Spears of Iowa Park; two brothers, Floyd Spears of Gladewater and Clifton Spears of Plano; three sisters, Billie Gibson, Martha Dee Martin and Virginia, all of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Leon Fields STINNETT - Leon Fields, 73, died Friday, July 30, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. Buck Lawley, pastor of the Church of God, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery. Mr. Fields was born in Wichita Falls and served with the Navy during World War II. For more than 50 years, he lived in Stinnett, where he owned and operated Leon's TV Repair until his retirement in 1983. He moved to Talco last year, where he was a member of First Assembly of God. He married Birtie Long in 1945 at Borger. Survivors include his wife; a son, James Fields of Talco; a daughter, Ann Duesterhaus of Oklahoma City; a brother, Joel Fields of Kermit; three sisters, Betty Tomlinson of Sweetwater, Bernice Pennington of Kermit and Helen Smith of Ohio City, Colo.; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 614 S. Oak in Stinnett. Opal Doris Smith Allison MCLEAN - Opal Doris Smith Allison, 86, died Saturday, July 31, 1999, in Quitman. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Thacker Haynes officiating. Arrangements are by Lamb Funeral Home. Mrs. Allison was born in Heard County, Ga. She lived in McClean from 1935 until 1984, when she moved to Quitman. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She married Clifford O. Allison in 1935 at Clarendon. He died in 1975. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Clifford Allison, in 1939, and by a daughter, Shirley A. Murff, in 1986. She is survived by a son, Jim Allison of Quitman; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 125, McLean, TX 79057. Ina Phillips LOCKNEY - Ina Phillips, 95, died Saturday, July 31, 1999, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Main Street Church of Christ with Jerry Klein, pastor of Comanche Trail Church of Christ in Amarillo, officiating, and Russell Harris, pastor, assisting. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mrs. Phillips was born in Grayson County and attended schools in Lockney. She was a homemaker and a member of the Polyanna Club and Main Street Church of Christ. She married Ralph Darnell in 1927. He died in 1967. Her daughter, Lavera Puckett, died in 1994. Survivors include a son, Brannon Darnell of Amarillo; a brother, Joe Si Collins of Amarillo; six grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Marie Harrah Marie Harrah, 70, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 3, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell Street, with Deacon Terry Pevehouse of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church officiating. Entombment was Wednesday, July 14, in Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Mrs. Harrah was born in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and attended Heights High School, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the National Honor Society. From 1950 until 1953, she was a stewardess for American Airlines and, in 1951, represented the company as Miss American Airlines. In Pampa, she was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Twentieth Century Club. In 1957, she moved to Dallas and was elected president of the Kiwi Club, the International Organization of former American Airline Stewardesses and was also president of the Current and Classic Book Club. She moved to Amarillo in 1983 and was a member of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church. She married Raymond Wesley Harrah Jr. in 1953 at Dallas. He died in 1996. Her daughter, Leslie Fowler, died in April, 1999. Survivors include her mother, Florence Piascik of Oakcliff Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia Street. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel. The Rev. Maldonado of New Life Ministries will be the officiant of both services. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Bergara was born in Sun Valley, Calif., and was owner/operator of Bergara Installations. He married Virginia Kibler in 1986. Survivors include his wife; a son, Matthew Bergara of the home; a daughter, Heather Bergara of the home; his father, Juan Bergara of Houston; his mother and stepfather, Raquel and Albert Pantoja of Amarillo; two brothers, Juan Bergara Jr. and Jason Romero, both of Amarillo; a sister, Belinda Romero of Amarillo; and his grandfather, Raul "Buster" Garivay of San Antonio. The family will be at 4105 S. 31st in Amarillo. Lewis D. McManus Lewis D. McManus, 86, a former Amarillo resident, of Mount Calm, died Friday, July 30, 1999, in Temple. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell Street, with Weldon Taylor, Chaplain of the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. McManus was born in Gainesville and moved to Amarillo in 1930. He was a farmer and served with the Army during World War II. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a VA Medical Center volunteer. He married Mary McManus in 1975 at Amarillo. She died in 1995. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Virgil Watts, in 1978, and Weldon Ray Watts, in 1931. His daughter, Virginia Watts, died in 1942. Survivors include a son, Jim McManus of Mount Calm; four daughters, Vivian Hill of Amarillo, Carol Sands of Hurst, Betty Parks of Wichita Falls and Lilly McClure of McAdoo; a sister, Elsie Summers of Amarillo; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to VA Medical Center in Temple. Robert Eugene Lehman Robert Eugene Lehman, 73, of Amarillo, died Sunday, August 1, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Hershel Moore officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors by Disabled American Veterans Chapter 26. Mr. Lehman was born in Rochester, Minn., and had lived in Amarillo since 1958. He was a retired veteran from the Air Force and custodian from Caprock High School in the Amarillo Independent School District. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Barbara F. Lehman, of Amarillo; a son, Charles E. Jones of Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Diane Pierce of Amarillo; a brother, Paul Lehman of Rochester; four sisters, Mildred Hayden, Dorothy Neumann and Thelma Previs, all of Rochester, and Hazel French of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will be at 4044 Neuches, and suggests memorials be to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Nursing Home, 6010 W. Amarillo Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106. Elsewhere B.D. Martin LUBBOCK - B.D. "Bill" Martin, 70, died Saturday, July 31, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Resthaven Funeral Home Abbey Chapel with Roger Williams of Wichita, Kan. officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. Mr. Martin was born in Clarendon, graduated from schools in Amarillo and from Amarillo Junior College in 1946. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1954 from Texas Tech University and an MBA from Harvard University in 1957. He served with the Navy during the Korean War and was involved in the pipeline industry in Lubbock, where he worked with R.H. Fulton Construction, Great Plains Construction and Bil-Mar Construction. He was a consultant for Koch Industries and was selected Pipeliner of the Year in 1973. He also was a real estate agent with Century 21 and a member of the Kiva Shrine Temple and the Yellowhouse Masonic Lodge. He served as past president of the South Plains Shrine Club, Lubbock Kiva Shrine Duffers, the Texas Shrine Golf Association and from 1986 until 1987, the Hillcrest Country Club. He married Mary Leah O'Neal in 1952 at Yuma, Ariz. Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry Martin of Lubbock; two daughters, Kim Ramirez and Lindsey Shelly, both of Lubbock; a sister, Wanda Cole of Bixby, Okla.; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
