Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. in Green Valley Cemetery near Furley, Kan., with Mike Angel, pastor of Emporia, Kan., officiating. Arrangements are by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mrs. Spain was born in Newton, Kan. In 1967, she and her husband moved to Guymon from Fritch, Texas. They founded Spain Electric in 1968, where she remained active until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of First Christian Church. She married Roy R. Spain in 1946 at Douglas, Kan. He died in 1979. Survivors include a daughter, Rickie Watkins of Emporia, Kan.; a son, Jeff Spain of Guymon; a brother, Floyd Long of Benton, Kan.; two sisters, Eunice Humboldt of Mulvane, Kan., and Fern Timmons of Augusta, Kan.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Huston BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Stella H. Huston, 49, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Episcopal Church in Bowling Green. Inurnment will be after the service at the Christ Episcopal Church columbarium. Arrangements are by J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapel in Bowling Green. Mrs. Huston was born in Amarillo. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and her master's degree from Western Kentucky University. She was a teacher at Bristow Elementary School in Bowling Green, and was active in Daughters of the King at Christ Episcopal Church. She was active in many church and civic activities. Survivors include her husband, Tim Huston of Bowling Green; a son, Matthew Hopkins of Bowling Green; and two daughters, Kathryn Hopkins and Sara Beth Huston of Bowling Green. Rader, 72, formerly of Amarillo, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999. Graveside services were held at Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward, Okla. Arrangements were by Zwanziger Funeral Home of Woodward. Mrs. Rader was born in Woodward. She lived in Amarillo most of her life. She was a charter member of Bykota Baptist Church. She married Orville Rader in 1946 at Tulsa, Okla. She was preceded in death by a son. Survivors include her husband; a son, Ronnie Rader of Fort Worth; four grandchildren; and a great grandchildren. Jackson Stuart Lawrance Jr. THE WOODLANDS - Jackson Stuart Lawrance Jr., 85, formerly of Canyon, died Monday, Jan. 30, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Episcopal Church of The Woodlands. Arrangements are by Green Lawn Memorial of The Woodlands. Mr. Lawrance was born in Greensburg, Pa. He moved to Canyon in 1964. He received his bachelor's degree from Drexel University and master's degree from the University of Alabama. He worked as an auditor for Pennsylvania Railroad. Mr. Lawrance later joined the Army, where he attained the rank of colonel. He retired in 1964 and then taught as an associate professor in the College of Business at West Texas State University. He became professor, dean of business and vice president of fiscal affairs. He retired from WT in 1979. After his retirement, he continued to be active in many organizations, both civic and charitable, in the Canyon area. He was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Canyon. He married April Jae Clark in 1951 in Fort Otter, New York. She died in 1994. Survivors include two daughters, Holly Neyman of Buford, Ga., and April Church of Plano; two sons, Jackson Stuart Lawrance III of Gainesville, Ga., and Mark Lawrance of Houston; a sister, Mary Elkus of Chicago; a brother, John Lawrance of Shelton, Wa.; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations may be given to the diabetes foundation. Carl Burnam LUBBOCK - Carl Burnam, 79, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999. Mr. Burnam was born in Wichita Falls. In 1986, he moved to Lubbock from Amarillo. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a salesman. He was a Baptist and lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry Lee Burnam. Survivors include three sons, Tom Burnam of Lubbock, Luther C. Mrs. Pryor was born in Leedy, Okla. In 1940, she moved to California where she worked for Consolidated Aircraft. In 1945, she moved to Des Moines where she and her husband established a ranch. She was a member of the Des Moines Church of Christ. In 1993, Mrs. Pryor was named Pioneer Woman of the Year by the Union County Extension Clubs. She was a member of the Lariat Cowbells, Folsom Garden Club and Grenville Extension Club. She served as director of the Union County Farm Bureau, was on the board of Des Moines Chamber of Commerce and was involved in many activities of the Des Moines School. She married Grover Wesley Pryor in 1939 at Arnett, Okla. He died in 1964. Survivors include two sons, Tom Pryor of Des Moines and James Pryor of Ordway, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Mr. Mason was born in Memphis and was an Army veteran. He received both his accounting degree and master's degree from West Texas A&M University. From 1959 until 1978, he had a CPA practice in Spearman. In 1978, Mr. Mason moved his practice to Amarillo. He was of the Baptist faith. He married Bernett Rickwartz in 1978 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Suzanne Chaney and Stephanie Oliver, both of Amarillo, and Jan Mason of Tyler; two sons, Jett J. Mrs. Michaels was born in Haverhill, Mass. She moved to Amarillo in 1972 from Colorado. In 1992, she retired as a seamstress for Mission Uniform. She was a Catholic. She married Louis P. Michaels in 1947 at Seabrook, N.H. He died in 1992. Survivors include two sons, Michael Michaels of Amarillo and Edward Michaels of Clarksville, Tenn.; and four grandchildren. They suggest memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Charles W. Meadors Charles W. Meadors, 80, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999. Georgia St. Mr. Meadors was born in Wichita Falls and attended school in Amarillo where he graduated from high school in 1937. He was an Amarillo resident for 68 years. During World War II, Mr. Meadors served three years as a noncommissioned officer in the Signal Corps attached to the Army Air Corps. He became an Army Air Corps officer and served in India and Okinawa. In 1945, he was discharged as a major. The majority of Mr. Meador's career was in industrial hardware. For 35 years, he was industrial salesman for both Amarillo Hardware and Morrow-Thomas. He continued with Morrow-Thomas Industrial Supply Co. for 15 years and then was with Four R Supply for six years where he retired as general manager. He was one of the first six elders elected to the newly organized Westminster Presbyterian Church in 1951 and remained a member. He married Martha Jameson in 1944 at Lebanon, Ohio. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Diana Buffington of Zearing, Iowa; a son, Daniel J. Meadors of Amarillo; a brother, Henry Meadors of Rio Hondo; and four grandchildren. Canyon Patricia Burns Olson Patricia Burns Olson, 73, of Canyon, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Don McDonald, pastor, and the Rev. Baldwin Stribling, pastor emeritus, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Olson was born in Kansas City, Mo., and raised in Norman, Okla. She lived in Pampa prior to moving to Canyon in 1960. She was a member of the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. In 1985, Mrs. Olson retired after 17 years of service with the First National Bank of Canyon. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder, taught Sunday School and led youth activities for many years. She was a troop leader for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Dorothy Ann Jones QUANAH - Dorothy Ann Jones, 74, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999. Mrs. Jones was born and raised in Quanah where she graduated from high school. She lived in Quanah for most of her life. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Nolan Jones in 1942 at Altus, Okla. He died in 1996. "Nick" Baird, 78, of Lavon and a former Amarillo resident, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Church of Christ of Wheeler with Jerry Dorman of Pampa officiating. Burial will be in the Wheeler Cemetery by Allen Funeral Home of Wylie and Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Baird was born in Mobeetie and attended schools in Kelton and Wheeler. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ for 48 years and served as deacon in Sudan and in Amarillo for 35 years. In 1984, Mr. Baird retired after 34 years with Southwestern Public Service Co. His career began with the East Plant in Amarillo then he was transferred to Plant X in Earth where he was on the crew that brought the new facility on line in 1952. He transferred back to Amarillo where he was a control room operator at Nichols Station. After 35 years in Amarillo, he moved to Lavon in 1994. He married Minnilou Ratliff in 1949 at Lela. Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry Ratliff of Sachse; three sisters, Lucille Anderson of Midland; Loraine Wagner of Plainview and Gillrie Rogers of Sudan; and three grandsons. Manuel Duran Perez DUMAS - Manuel Duran Perez, 85, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Darryl Birkenfeld, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Stratford, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Perez was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, and had lived in Dumas for 12 years. He was a farmer and member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Ortega Duran, in 1979 and by a daughter, Eduwiges Duran, in 1987. Survivors include a daughter, Moncerrat Marquez of Dumas; a son, Lucio Duran of Chihuahua; 19 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren. The family will be at the residence five miles southwest of Dumas. Wendell M. Morris FLOMOT - Wendell M. Morris, 71, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Flomot Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Nathan Mulder of South Plains and pastor of Flomot Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Siegler Funeral Home of Matador. Mr. Morris was born in Motley County. He previously lived in Dimmitt and Plainview before returning to Flomot. He was a retired farmer and was a truck driver for Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He married Nelva Snow in 1946 at Matador. She died in November. Survivors include two sons, Billy Morris of Flomot and Tommy Morris of Lockney; two daughters, Pam Lane of Plainview and Cindy Green of Matador; three sisters, Wanda Garrett of Burney, Calif., Colleen Burns of Granbury and Bobbie Morris of Fulton; and 10 grandchildren. C.B. Morrison Jr. BORGER - C.B. Morrison Jr., 75, died Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in San Jacinto Baptist Church in Amarillo with the Rev. Trent Sisemore, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Morrison was born in Okemah, Okla., and lived in Borger from 1945 until 1969. During World War II, he was in the Army Air Corps as a pilot flying B17s. For 38 years, he was a training supervisor for Phillips Petroleum in the International Department. He traveled to various countries training staff for the start-up of plants. He returned to Borger in October. Survivors include his wife, Ann; four daughters, Sandra Hilbert of Borger, Lana Dawson of Dumas and Judy Strickland and Margy Hodges, both of Amarillo; four brothers, C.O. Mrs. Pyeatt was born in Swisher County and grew up in Love Community where she attended schools. She graduated from Tulia High School. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club of Swisher County and the Central Church of Christ. She married Ray Barrington Pyeatt in 1932 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1989. Survivors include a son, Larry Pyeatt of Tulia; two sisters, Bernice Evans and Betty Jo Barker, both of Tulia; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Anne Fay Smith FLOYDADA - Anne Fay Smith, 89, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor, and Brent Bullock officiating. Burial will be in Floydada Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada. Mrs. Smith was born in Lewisville and attended schools in Denton. She moved to Floydada in 1926 where she graduated from Floydada High School. She attended North Texas State University and graduated from Texas Tech University. Mrs. Smith was a school teacher and a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Floydada and United Methodist Women. She married Ray H. Smith in 1937 at Floydada. He died in 1994.
