The family will receive visitors from 2 to 3 p.m. today at Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Mitchell was born in Trinidad, Colo. During World War II, he served in the Army Corps of Engineers. He moved to Amarillo in 1951 from Rifle, Colo. Mr. Mitchell was employed by Pantex and Helium Activity in Amarillo. He was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church. He married Doris R. Wilkins in 1937 at Lincoln, Neb. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim Mitchell of Korea; a daughter, Jane Stewart of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association Panhandle Chapter or San Jacinto United Methodist Church. Viewing will be available at the funeral home. Frances Williams Frances Williams, 59, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Bovina with the Rev. Gary Morgan, pastor, the Rev. E.D. Fields and the Rev. Tim Askew officiating. Burial will be in Bovina Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Williams was born in My Enterprise and had lived in Amarillo for three years. She was a homemaker and member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She married Anderson Williams in 1963. He died in 1980. Survivors include her mother, Maudie Johnson of Amarillo; two sons, Steven Ashley and Homer Ashley Jr., both of Youngstown, Ohio; two daughters, Annette Johnson and Jeanette Ashley, both of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Angela Chavers of Amarillo; three brothers, Charles Johnson of Phoenix, and Larry Johnson and Ronnie Johnson, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Charlene Shepherd, Mary Ranson and Linda Richardson, all of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a cashier at Braum's and a Catholic. There is no viewing scheduled at the funeral home. The family will be at 1041 Bagarry. Kenneth A. Terrel Kenneth A. Terrel, 71, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Terrel was born in Baca County, Colo., and moved to Amarillo 44 years ago. He served in the Navy during World War II. He owned and was partners in several roofing companies. He married Lula Shepard in 1947 at Greeley, Colo. She died in 1989. Survivors include five daughters, Judy Grant, Louella Terrel, Linda Flanigan and Patty Watson, all of Amarillo, and Cindy McCurry of Madison, Miss.; a son, Ricky Terrel of Amarillo; two brothers, Frank Terrel of Fort Collins, Colo., and Glen Terrel of Minden, Neb.; two sisters, Alice Newland of Brush, Colo., and Irene Collins of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family will be at 5140 McCarty. Jose W. Quintana Jose W. Quintana, 78, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Monsignor Harold Waldo officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Quintana was born in Montoya, N.M., and moved to Amarillo 50 years ago. During World War II, he served with the Army in both the European and Pacific campaigns. In 1976, he retired after 25 years as a nursing assistant with the Veterans Administration Medical Center. Mr. Quintana was a member of Knights of Columbus and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America. He married Maximina Diaz in 1950 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mary Quintana Sena of Amarillo and Joann Holvey of Dallas; two sons, Michael Quintana of Amarillo and David Quintana of Dallas; a brother, Ralph Quintana of New Mexico; a sister, Frances Salazar of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Burial will be in Washburn Cemetery. Mr. Britton was born in Amarillo and raised in Matador. He returned to Amarillo in the early 1950s. He retired as a shoe repairman with Dolcater Shoe Repair. He was a member of Oddfellow Lodge and Sanborn Baptist Church. He married Virginia Jordan in 1991 at Plano. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia West, in 1989. He owned an automobile repair shop from 1931 until 1937. From 1937 until his retirement in 1965, he was a service manager for Allis Chalmers Manufacturing Co. He was an elder at the Central Church of Christ for five years. He had been a member of the church since 1937. He married Rubye Ross McReynolds in 1972. His first wife, Jewel Edwards, died in 1972. Goodson, 85, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery, East Mausoleum, with Tom Posey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Goodson was born in Acme and moved to Amarillo in 1942 from Memphis, Texas. She was a registered nurse at High Plains Baptist Hospital where she helped establish the newborn nursery. Upon Mrs. Goodson's retirement in 1978, the hospital dedicated the newborn nursery in her honor. She was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church. Her husband, W.T. Goodson Jr., preceded her in death. Survivors include a brother, A.G. Kesterson; and two sisters, Dorothy Ray Kesterson of Amarillo and Doris Kesterson of Euless. Nell B. Brown Nell B. She married Bob Denman in 1948. She was preceded in death by her husband, two daughters and a son. Georgia St. Mr. Dudding was born in Bancroft, Iowa. He was a previous resident of Bancroft, Iowa and Fremont, Neb., before moving Hereford from Loveland, Colo. in 1974. He moved to Amarillo in 1991. Mr. Dudding retired in 1990 as a cattle buyer. He participated in spring training with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1946. He went into the Army in 1947. He married Phyllis Agnes Wertjes in 1957. Mrs. Baker was born in Grassville, Ark. She retired as an ordained Pentecostal preacher. She was the pastor of two churches in Wichita Falls in the 1960s. A homemaker, she was a resident of Vernon for the last three years. She married Bowie Berry Baker in 1931. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977, a son, Charlie Baker, and a daughter, Jimmie Helen. Mrs. Hicks was born in Fort Worth and had been a resident of Tucumcari since 1945. She had been employed at Trigg Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aid for more than 13 years. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hicks, in 1956 and by a daughter, Billie Jean Baum, in 1976. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Carlos Chavez officiating. Mr. Jablonsky was born in Chicago, Ill., and was a veteran of World War II. He was an electronics engineer with Rockwell International of California for 32 years. He lived in Clovis for more than 20 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He married Patricia Blanchard in 1948. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Paul Jablonsky of Yorba Linda, Calif., Rick Jablonsky of Arlington, Wash. and Craig Jablonsky of Mesquite, Texas; a daughter, Cindee Nelson of Coarsegold, Calif.; two sisters, Gene Neiz of Tucson, Ariz. and Ann Leitz of Eau Claire, Mich.; and three grandchildren. Arrangements were by Memphis Funeral Home. Mrs. Raper was born in Hedley and lived in the Hall County area most of her life. She was a retired nurse. Frank Clements Jr. HEREFORD - Frank Clements Jr., 89, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998. Services will be today in Parkside Chapel with the Rev. Doris Huckert officiating. Graveside services will be Monday in Roswell City Cemetery in Roswell, N.M. Mr. Clements was born in Birmingham, Ala. A retired government employee of 26 years, he was the fire chief at the Walker Air Force Base in Roswell and retired in 1972 from the Federal Aviation Administration. Mr. Clements moved to Hereford, where he farmed and raised pigs. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Hereford. Survivors include a son, Joe Bob Clements of Hereford; a stepson, James Lamar of Jal, N.M.; two stepdaughters, Cheryl Bradfield of Kansas City, Mo., and Cindy Clements of Roswell; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Hereford Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels. Florence Rosella Ondracek DALHART - Florence Rosella Ondracek, 91, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998. Wake service will be at 7 p.m. today in Hass Funeral Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. Dale Guidry, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Ondracek was born in Lebanon, Mo., and moved to Obar, N.M., in the early 1900s. She moved to Dalhart to attend high school and boarded with the August Hesse Sr. family. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, St. Anthony's Altar Society and other organizations. She married Ed Ondracek in 1928. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983 and by a son, Robert Gerald Ondracek. Survivors include two sons, Francis Ondracek of Dalhart and Joseph Ondracek of Gaylord, Mich.; two brothers, Roy and Fred Pine of Illinois; a sister, Mable Kerley of Washington; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will be at 921 Cherry in Dalhart. Joe Prater PLAINVIEW - Joe Prater, 89, of Lubbock, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Plainview Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Eastside Baptist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Prater was born in Nevada, Texas, and grew up in Farmersville, where he attended schools. After his marriage, he moved to Plano, where he farmed. He moved to Spade in 1942 and to Halfway in 1962. In 1969, Mr. Prater retired from farming. He moved to Plainview in 1972 and to Lubbock in 1989. He was a Baptist. He married Ruth Denison in 1933 at Marietta, Okla. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Doris Marie Palmer of Sun City, Ariz.; a brother; two sisters; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Rene'e Hayes PADUCAH - Rene'e Hayes, 51, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998. Services were at 4 p.m. Saturday in Missionary Baptist Church in Paducah with the Rev. Keith Prather, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Hayes was born and raised in Paducah where she graduated from high school. She attended Clarendon Junior College. She was an artist and a member of the Pythian Sisters and the Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Alyssa Nicole Baker of Medina; mother, Mable Holcomb of Paducah; two brothers, Marvin Holcomb of Fort Worth and Mikie Dean Holcomb of Paducah; a special friend, Kevin Rowe of Dallas; and a grandson. Vivian Mitchell SHAMROCK - Vivian Mitchell, 96, of Midland died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Shamrock Cemetery at Wheeler County. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mrs. Mitchell was born and attended schools in Kerens. She was in the grocery and restaurant business for many years. In 1927, she moved to Shamrock and in 1996, to Midland. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Shamrock for 50 years. She married Earl E. Mitchell in 1921. He died in 1977. Mrs. Morris was born in Dallas County and moved with her family to Wheeler County. She lived in Amarillo for 32 years before moving to Borger in 1967. She returned to Amarillo in 1997. She was a homemaker, a former member of Polk Street United Methodist Church in Amarillo and a current member of Borger United Methodist Church. She married Samuel Eugene Morris in 1924. He died in 1976. Survivors include a daughter, Melba Colleen Hamilton of Kerrville; a son, Richard Eugene Morris of Amarillo; a sister, Orville Greenhouse of Mobeetie; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He moved to Muleshoe from Plainview in 1966. He was a wood craftsman, builder and irrigation specialist and a member of 16th and Avenue D Church of Christ. He married Robin Harbin in 1954. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth Taylor of Spur; a daughter, Jean Parker of Happy; two sisters, Jorene Kirkland of Amarillo and Glenda McInroe of Bowie; a brother, Lee Roy Taylor of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family requests memorials be to Christian Relief Fund, P.O. Box 19670, Amarillo, TX 79114. Gladys L. Riddle SPEARMAN - Gladys L. Riddle, 84, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Patrick, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mrs. Riddle was born in Bosque County and lived in the area for 21 years, moving from Sunray. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church. She married Ernest S. Riddle in 1932. He died in 1982. Survivors include a daughter, Maralene Stevens of Valley Falls, Kan.; two sons, Kenneth Riddle of Indianapolis and Wayne Riddle of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association or to First Baptist Church of Spearman. Jack W. Flynt DIMMITT - Jack W. Flynt, 75, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church of Dimmitt with the Rev. Rusty Dickerson and the Rev. Vernon O'Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by FoskeyLilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mr. Flynt was born in Tulia where he attended school. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated in 1962 from West Texas State University. From 1943 to 1946, he served in the Army during World War II in Europe. Mr. Flynt retired as charter life underwriter and agency manager for Southern Farm Bureau. He had farming and ranching interests in Swisher, Castro and Parmer counties. He was a member of the Greer H. Estes American Legion Post No. 445 of Dimmitt. In the American Legion, Mr. Flynt was service officer, adjutant and commander including 18th District Commander and Fourth Division Commander/department vice-commander. During 1966-67, he served as commander of the American Legion, department of Texas. He also served on the national executive committee from 1968 until 1972. Mr. Flynt was a member of the board of trustees for six years and served as chairman in 1971-72. He chaired the department convention city commission for several years since 1973 and was chairman emeritus. In 1971, Mr. Flynt was appointed a member of the Texas National Convention Corp. and served as chairman. In 1974, he was elected national vice commander. By governor's appointment, Mr. Flynt served for six years as a member of the Texas Veteran's Commission. He served for 12 years on the National Americanism Commission, nine years of which he was chairman of the sub-committee on American Legion Youth Activities. For nine years, he served as chairman of the National Boys State Conference for State Directors. Mr. Flynt was active in the First United Methodist Church where he served on the administrative board and several committees and was in the Methodist men. He worked with the Deaf Smith Electric Cooperative Scholarship Program and was community chairman of the American Legion Boys State selection committee. He married Doris Stilwell Lindsey in 1993. His first wife of 42 years, Mary Finley, died in 1989. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jack Winston II of Lubbock; two daughters, Sharron Flynt Acker of Argyle and Karron Flynt Smith of Bakersfield, Calif.; four stepchildren, Robert Lindsey Jr., of Plainview, Kent Lindsey of Dimmitt, Kim Lindsey Holland of Fort Worth and Jeff Lindsey of Dallas; and 12 grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Methodist Children's Home or a favorite charity. Arthur Webb CANADIAN - Arthur "Bud" Webb, 92, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Church of Christ with Ben Mathers and Rex Boyles, minister of the Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors. Mr. Webb was born on the Webb Ranch in Gray County and moved to Hemphill County in 1928. He served on the Canadian Independent School Board of Trustees for several years. In 1953, he helped organize the First State Bank and served on the board of directors. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Bessie Lee Bartram in 1928. She died in 1993. He was also preceded in death by a son, L.H. Webb, in 1957. Survivors include a son, Allen Webb of Canadian; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Edward Abraham Memorial Home or to Hemphill County Library. Maerine Roberts PLAINVIEW - Maerine Roberts, 96, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church, Family Life Chapel, with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Lemons Funeral Home. Mrs. Roberts was born in Anson and graduated from Haskell county schools. She lived in the Rose community then moved to Dickens. In 1928, she moved to Petersburg and then to Plainview in 1934. In 1975, Mrs. Roberts retired after 13 years as a switchboard operator at Wayland. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Women's Missionary Union Circle. She married Harmon Roberts in 1924 at Haskell. He died in 1960. Survivors include two daughters, Melba Jo Willis of Plainview and Frances Estill of Arlington; a brother, E.W. Johnson of Amarillo; a sister, Esther Gibson of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
