Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Miss Everly was born in Sanger. She received a bachelors of arts degree from Texas Woman's University in Denton and a master's degree from the University of California at Berkeley. She taught English and journalism at White Deer High School for 33 years and Latin at Pampa High School for 6 years. She moved to Pampa in 1962, retired in 1968 and moved to Amarillo in 1988. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Retired Teachers' Association, and First Baptist Church of Pampa. Survivors include cousins Maxine Nunn, Sheri Lee Andrews and Vada Lee Olsen, all of Amarillo, Linda Kay Rapstine of White Deer, Kermit Lawson of Pampa, Henry Worthington of Artesia, N.M., Darline Brown of Des Moines, N.M., Modene Verquer of Albuquerque, N.M., and Virginia Hale of Santa Rosa, Calif. The family suggests memorials be to the Lottie Moon Offering at the First Baptist Church in Pampa. Edward M. Waldie Edward M. Waldie, 73, of Amarillo, died Thursday, April 29, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens Mausoleum with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Military Rites will be by DAV Chapter 26. Sillivent Cassie B. Sillivent, 91, of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 1, 1999. Mrs. Sillivent was born in Mangum, Okla. and moved to Amarillo in 1951 from Dalhart. She was a homemaker. She married Clifford Sillivent in 1957 at Alamogordo, N.M. He died in 1994. Emma Newman Emma Newman, 94, of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 1, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery-East Mausoleum. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Newman was born in Giddings and moved to Amarillo in 1948 from Bomarton. She was a member of the Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church, Baylor County Home Demonstration Club, Bomarton PTA, and Grand Street Senior Citizens Community Center Quilter. She married Lando Newman in 1929 at Stanford. He died in 1967. Survivors include a son, Thomas L. Newman of Amarillo; five daughters, Nelta Bartos of Arlington, Bonnie Graham of Floydada, Sally Short of Lubbock, Mary Cook of Amarillo and Gracie Graves of Austin; two sisters, Meta Wienke of Phoenix and Beda Packer of Corpus Christi; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Beatrice Vaughan Beatrice Vaughan, 79, of Amarillo, died Saturday, May 1, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Lazbuddie with the Rev. Jim Watson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lazbuddie Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Vaughan was born in Decatur and had lived in Amarillo for 5 years. She worked for the telephone company in Dallas as an operator and for a Lazbuddie store as a clerk. She was a housewife and a Baptist. Her husband, Theron Delmar Vaughan, died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Vaughan, in 1989. Survivors include a son, Theron Vaughan Jr. of Georgetown; a daughter, Shelia May of Amarillo; two sisters, Willie Mae Grimes of Llano and Carrie Wells of Lewisville; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Byars, 91, of Amarillo, died Sunday, May 2, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Polk Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jim Garrett, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Byars was born in Hall County and moved to Amarillo in 1940 to work for Pantex. He played semi-pro baseball in the 1930s and was a barber for over 50 years. He was a member of the Golden Kiwanis, the Amarillo Masonic Lodge No. 1239, the Commandry No. 284, and the Khiva Shrine Temple. He also coached American Legion Baseball in Amarillo for many years and was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church and the McDavid Sunday School Class. He married Irma Dean Durrett in 1927 at Hall County. She died in 1970. He married Alta Moore in 1972 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Duane Byars of Ruidoso, N.M.; two daughters, Lloyd Dean Gower of Amarillo and Derema Sears of Arlington; a stepson, Doyle Moore of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Larae Browne of Amarillo; two sisters, Johnnie Sue Young and Mary Lou Van Ausdell , both of Memphis; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She moved to Hereford in 1949 and to Amarillo in 1978. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She married Policarpio Madrid Sr. in 1930 at Porta Luna, N.M. He died in 1991. Burial will be in Texola Cemetery by Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home. Mrs. Anderson was born near Erick and attended schools in both Erick and Hibbard, Okla. She had been a lifetime resident of the area and was a member of the Erick First Baptist Church. She married Marvin Anderson in 1932 at Texola. She was preceded in death by her husband and a grandchild, Desiree Cable. Mrs. Autry was born in Alvarado and had been a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Silverton. She was also a member of the Progressive Homemakers Club and the Hay Lake Quilters Club. She married J.K. Bean in 1928 at Cleburne. He died in 1962. She married Ennis Autry in 1969 at Silverton. He died in 1981. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Bean of Lubbock, Walter Bean of Silverton and Donald Bean of Floydada; a daughter, Mildred Smitherman of Floydada; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Witzack was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, where she attended school. In 1993, she moved to Wellington from Chicago, where she had been a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. She was a factory worker for Stewart Warner Instrument Co. for over 26 years. She married Albert Witzack in 1959 at Chicago. He died in 1979. Survivors include a son, Jorge Carrion of Wellington; a daughter, Carmen Carrion of Wellington; two brothers, Oswald Miranda of Ponce, Puerto Rico and Gilbert Miranda of Chicago; a sister, Valtina Pagon of Chicago; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. Mae Detwiler PADUCAH - Mae Detwiler, 86, died Saturday, May 1, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Mrs. Detwiler was born in Pittsburg, Texas and had lived in Cottle County since 1944. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. She married W.F. Detwiler in 1973 at Paducah. He died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by a stepson, Gary Detwiler, in 1985. Survivors include three stepsons, Randy Detwiler of Paducah, Tim Ray Detwiler of Bonham and Robin Detwiler of Plainview; three stepdaughters, Sybil Wofford of Paducah, Betty McKeehan of Lewisville and Janet Mullins of Tulsa, Okla.; 15 step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Basford was born in El Paso and had lived in Vega for the past four years, where he was a member of Vega United Methodist Church and Senior Citizens. He was stationed in San Francisco at the Naval Base during World War II and was a retired civil service employee. He married Velma in 1946 at San Francisco. She died in 1974. Kurt Trent Shedeck SPEARMAN - Kurt Trent Shedeck, 49, formerly of Spearman, died Friday, April 30, 1999, in Galveston. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Coolidge Cemetery in Coolidge, Kan. with the Rev. Gaylord Cook of Dalhart officiating. Arrangements are by Greene Funeral Home in Syracuse, Kan. Mr. Shedeck was born in Borger, had lived in Midland for 15 years and in Spearman for most of his life. He graduated from Spearman High School, Amarillo College in auto mechanics and East Texas State University. He was an auto mechanic instructor at Midland Junior College, where he was Teacher of the Year for the past two years. He was a member of the Golf Course Road Church of Christ in Midland. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Lee of Pukalani, Hawaii and Claire Shedeck of Hamlin; his mother, Colleen Shedeck of Syracuse; a brother, Mike Shedeck of Dalhart; a sister, Vicki Wilson of Fritch; his grandmother, Anna Raney of Syracuse; and two grandchildren.
