Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Norman Patton officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park at Plainview by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Homes. Mrs. McClain was born in Olton where she was a lifetime resident. She retired as a loan officer for the Olton State Bank. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She married Earl McClain in 1948 at Olton. Survivors include her husband; a son, Lannie McClain of Dallas; a daughter, Gale McClain of Olton; a brother, Joe Moore of Midkiff; six grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to Vistacare Hospice and Olton Cemetery Association. Raymond A. Wood OLTON - Raymond A. Wood, 86, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Main Street Church of Christ with Rick Harper and Silas Short officiating. Burial will be in Olton Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Olton. Mr. Wood was born in Big Foot and moved to Olton from Borger in 1948. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a farmer. He was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ and was a 32nd degree Mason. He married Gladys Harris in 1935 at Paducah. Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary Wood of Olton; a daughter, Sandy Adrian of Lockney; a sister, Ruby Morris of Temple; two brothers, V.G. Wood of Olton and Clyde Wood of Greenwood, Ark.; four grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. The family suggests memorials be to Vistacare Hospice or Sandhills Village. Grace Emma Rankin Lowe Rawlins CHILDRESS - Grace Emma Rankin Lowe Rawlins, 93, of Austin, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Childress Cemetery with the Rev. Jon Crosby, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home of Childress. Mrs. Rawlins was born in Houston. She was a nurse, a career she continued into her 70s. A self-taught pianist, she also played the violin and guitar by ear. She was preceded in death by her first husband, W.H. "Bill" Lowe, and her second husband, James Rawlins. Survivors include a son, William Lowe of Amarillo; two daughters, Dondra Lowe Robicheaux Miller of Cedar Hill and Frances Lowe Tea of Athens; a stepdaughter, Norma Rawlins White of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren. Ruth Novella Dye Hundley CLARENDON - Ruth Novella Dye Hundley, 91, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eugene Weinette, pastor, and the Rev. Don Travis, retired Methodist minister from Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mrs. Hundley was born in Claude and was a lifetime resident of Armstrong County. She was a restaurant cook and a member of First United Methodist Church. She married Jess Bennett Hundley in 1926 at Amarillo. He died in 1990. Survivors include four daughters, Bennie Ruth Klier of East Carbon, Utah, Nelda Stephenson of Claude, Donna Bentley of Dallas and Nancy Moore of Stratford; two sons, Wildon "Warty" Hundley of Claude, and Delbert Hundley of Tulia; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the First United Methodist Church of Claude. Melba Eunice Vaughn WHEELER - Melba Eunice Vaughn, 71, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Wheeler Cemetery with the Rev. Toby Henson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mrs. Vaughn was born in Wheeler and graduated from Brisco High School. In 1949, she and her husband moved to Miller, Mo., then moved to Borger in 1953 and to Flatonia in 1984. Mrs. Vaughn was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Borger and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She married E.T. Vaughn in 1947 in Tulia. She was preceded in death by a son, Tommy, in 1960. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Jerry Vaughn and Robert Vaughn, both of Flatonia, and Lewis Vaughn of Fritch; a sister, Mary Richards of Cyril, Okla.; a brother, Sid Lee Morgan of Miami, Okla.; and two grandchildren. Wilt Mason S. Wilt, 77, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug, 2, 1999. Services were at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Schooler Funeral Home Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Dr. Alan Pickering of Southwest Church of Christ of Temecula, Calif., and Gene Shelburne of Anna Street Church of Christ officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Resthaven Cemetery at Lubbock. Mr. Wilt was born in Philadelphia, Pa., where he graduated from school. He moved to Amarillo in 1984 from Bartlesville, Okla., where he had lived for 18 months. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1949 with a degree in chemical engineering. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater, Headquarters Company 66th Infantry, Second Battalion. He had lived in Borger for 32 years where he worked for Phillips Petroleum as a chemical engineer. He was a member of the Chess Club and was a life master bridge player. He was a volunteer for Internal Revenue Service at the Senior Citizens Center. He married Mary Berry in 1944 at Lubbock. Survivors include his wife; a son, Rex Mason Wilt of Amarillo; a daughter, Cyndee Gayle of Snyder; a sister, Marion Defeo of Maple Shade, N.J.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Jim Brewton Jim Brewton, 70, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in San Jacinto United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Fitzgerald, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Brewton was born in Amarillo where he lived all his life. He owned and operated San Jacinto Electric in Amarillo for many years before retiring in 1984. He was a longtime member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church. He was a member and past Master of San Jacinto Masonic Lodge 1330. He was a past District Deputy Grand Master in 1983. He was a member of the Khiva shrine Temple where he served as the Temple Recorder for seven years. He also was a member and past president of the Khiva Stage Band, the Khiva Oriental Band as well as the Khiva Mobile Nobles. He married Elaine VanVaulkenburg in 1948 in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joe Brewton and David Brewton, both of Amarillo; and eight grandchildren. Frances Schumacher Frances Schumacher, 57, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in North Beacon Church of the Nazarene, 1601 N. Nelson, with the Rev. Jerry Tate of Carnegie, Okla., officiating. Cremation is by Memory Gardens Crematory and arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mrs. Schumacher was born in Kansas City, Mo., and moved to Amarillo 30 years ago from Santa Rosa, Calif. She retired as waitress from Cattlemen's Restaurant and other restaurants. For five years, she was manager for the Town House Apartments. An avid bowler, Mrs. Schumacher was a 25-year member of WIBC and bowled with the Traveling Queens for 10 years. She was a Nazarene. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Braddock and Angela Beard, both of Amarillo; two sons, Thomas Schumacher of Amarillo and Martin Schumacher of Enid, Okla.; two sisters, Barbara McKennon and Kathy Lacy, both of Albuquerque, N.M.; two brothers, Jim Kemp of Henderson, Nev., and John Kemp of Amarillo; and 10 grandchildren. New Mexico Johnny Mack Spriggs CLOVIS, N.M. - Johnny Mack Spriggs, 61, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sandia Baptist Church with Dr. James R. Burke officiating. Burial will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Mr. Spriggs was born in Texico and was a lifetime resident of Clovis. He was a locomotive engineer for BNSF Railroad, a member of the BLE-811 and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He married June "Florine" Wale in 1957 at Clovis. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steve Spriggs and Derek Spriggs, both of Clovis; a daughter, Kay Allen of Rhea, Texas; three brothers, Kenneth Spriggs of Dallas, Glen Spriggs of Clovis and Charles Spriggs of Houston; two sisters, Evelyn Liska of Topeka, Kan., and Neva Fajardo of Phoenix; and nine grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church at Dalhart, where she was an active member of the Missionary Guild. She married J.T. "Jake" Bryant in 1937 at Durant, Okla. Bryant of Houston; a sister, Lela Dixon of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Thomas Hicks Crawford LUBBOCK - Thomas Hicks Crawford, 86, died Saturday, July 31, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in City of Lubbock Cemetery with the Rev. Doyle Patterson officiating. Arrangements are by White Funeral Home of Lubbock. Mr. Crawford was born in Decatur. In 1985, he retired as city electrical inspector for the city of Alice and was a member of the First Christian Church of Alice. Mr. Crawford was a 55-year member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas and the Brownfield Lodge No. 903. He moved to Lubbock this year from Alice. He married Ella Fay Norvill in 1968 at Hereford. Survivors include his wife; a son, Tommy Crawford of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Sandra Crawford Davis of San Angelo; a stepson, Gary Hughes of Lubbock; a stepdaughter, Fayteen Chaffin of Houston; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
