Georgia St. Mrs. Panick was born in White Deer and moved to Amarillo as a young girl. She attended Amarillo High School. In 1972, she retired after 44 years as a supervisor at Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. She was a Baptist and member of Pioneers of America. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Panick, in 1958. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Clark of Amarillo; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Mr. McLemore was born in Amarillo where he was a lifetime resident. He graduated from Caprock High School and attended West Texas State University. He was a self-employed wallpaper hanger. Survivors include his wife, Doris Sirmon; two daughters, Korina Sirmon and Deve McLemore, both of Amarillo; his parents, Thelma and David McLemore of Amarillo; a sister, Phyllis Enloe of Amarillo; and a granddaughter. Mattie Belle King Mattie Belle King, 88, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999. They suggest memorials be to a favorite charity. Jo Crowell Jo Crowell, 76, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999. Mrs. Crowell was born in Canadian and moved to Amarillo 46 years ago. She was employed at Amarillo Air Base, then at Sheppard Air Force Base from 1967 until her retirement in 1975. She was a Baptist. She married George Crowell in 1944. He died in 1975. Survivors include a daughter, Dulcy Reville of Amarillo; a brother, M.I. "Bud" Simmons of Tempe, Ariz.; a sister, Jackie Holycross of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will be at 1614 S. Bowie. The body will not be available for viewing. Neal Stanley Braboy Neal Stanley Braboy, 82, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Paramount Terrace Christian Church with the Rev. C. Scott Greer, senior pastor, officiating. Private burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Braboy was born in Fannin County and raised in Wellington. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps then moved to Amarillo in 1945. From 1950 until 1969, he owned Stanley's Drive-In. He sold that business and was a co-owner of National Mobile Exchange. Mr. Braboy was a real estate investor. He was a member of the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association and, since 1962, a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church and the Lamplighter Sunday School Class. In the 1960s, he was active in the Republican Party. He married Marie Durrett in 1947 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elaine Tucker of Tulsa and Tricia Stitt of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. The family will receive friends at their home. She was a member of the Amarillo Country Club and was a Methodist. She married Reginal Greenhaw in 1934 at Memphis. He died in 1992. Mrs. Ruth was born in Hale Center and lived in Dumas before moving to Amarillo in 1954. She was a homemaker and retired Stanley Products representative. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Grand Chapter of Texas, Amarillo Chapter No. 787 and Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She married Cyrus Virl Ruth in 1922 at Hale Center. Richard H. MacLellan, 72, formerly of Amarillo, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in St. Laurence Cathedral with Bishop Leroy Matthiesen officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Private vigil services were Thursday with Bishop Leroy Matthiesen, the Rev. James Malone of Chicago and priests from Wyoming and Texas as concelebrants. The Rev. MacLellan was born in Providence, R.I., and raised in Indiana. He was ordained in St. Meinrad's Seminary for the Diocese of Amarillo in 1951. The Rev. MacLellan served at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Amarillo, then was first assistant at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rowena, then their administrator. From 1955 until 1969, he served at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Levelland then was at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Amarillo from 1969 until 1977. The Rev. MacLellan moved to Wyoming where he served numerous state parishes. At the time of his death, he was pastor of Corpus Christi in Newcastle and covered missions in Sundance, Hulett and Upton. Survivors include two nephews, Bruce MacLellan of Portland, Ore., and Larry MacLellan of Fisher, Ind.; three nieces, Laura Herring of McMinnville, Ore., Kate O'Farrell of Otis, Ore., and Julie Fortis of Allston, Ma.; and three cousins. He was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Caffey, in 1987. She was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church. She married H.J. Browning in 1951 at Clovis, N.M. Charles Christie DUMAS - Charles Christie, 69, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Grant V. Berry, interim pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Christie was born in Keyes, Okla., and moved to Dumas in 1939. From 1947 until 1949, he served in the Army. He was a member of First Christian Church. For 30 years, Mr. Christie was a firefighter with the Dumas Fire Department. He worked with glass in construction for many years. He owned Locks and Unlocks for the past 20 years. He married Willa Rhodes in 1950 at Dumas. She died in 1995. Survivors include two daughters, Genie Long of Fort Worth and Janie Heniford of Ponca City, Okla.; three brothers, Keith Christie of Dumas, Kenneth Christie of Arlington and Rex Christie of Hedley; a sister, Ruby Dermody of Cobleskill, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. "Sonny" Smiley Jr., 66, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999. He retired as a military communications technician from the Army. His service included three tours in Vietnam. After 14 years, Mr. Smiley retired from Burlington Northern Railroad. Mrs. Middleton was born in Norton and moved to Union Hill Community at an early age. She graduated from Happy High School. She received her bachelor's degree in home economics from West Texas Normal College. Mrs. Middleton lived in Fritch, Borger and Amarillo before moving to Happy in 1945. She helped her husband run the Corner Drug Store in Happy. She was a member of the Woman's Study Club of Happy, several bridge clubs in Tulia and was a charter member of First Presbyterian Church of Happy. She married Willard Middleton in 1937 at Clovis, N.M. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and by a son, Don Ed Middleton, in 1984. Mr. Brannon was born in Paris, Texas, and had lived in Clovis since 1968. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from the civil service. Warren F. Pendleton CLOVIS, N.M. - Warren F. Pendleton, 77, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at Lubbock, Texas. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Herbert Bergstrom officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mr. Pendleton was born in Mansfield, La. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in architecture. He served in the Army during World War II. He moved to Clovis in 1952. His architectural firm, Warren Pendleton and Assoc., designed many of the banks, universities and schools in the Southwest. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He married Zula Shelton in 1942. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Susan Hanks and Kathy Mapes, both of Clovis; a sister, Jeanne Christian of Mansfield; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Wyatt Branson Eubank CLOVIS, N.M. - Wyatt Branson Eubank, 90, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in The Chapel, 1500 Thornton with Dr. James Burke officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Eubank was born in Jones County, N.C. He married Frances E. Mercer in 1930 at Jacksonville, N.C. They moved to Clovis in 1957. He worked as an insurance adjuster and was a member of Sandia Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996. Survivors include three daughters, Jewel Hope Dunn of Emerald Isle, N.C., Carolyn Paul of Taos, and Ann Mercer Bohart of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; three sisters, Lucille Waters of Hampton, Va., Iva Hartman of Unionville, Mich., and Evelyn Eubank of Orange County, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. William Richard McGrew ROSWELL, N.M. - William Richard "Dick" McGrew, 80, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ's Church with the Rev. Stan Harbour officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Borger with military rites. Arrangements are by LaGrone Funeral Chapel of Roswell. Mr. McGrew was born in Chicago and raised in Coffeyville, Kan., where he graduated from high school. In 1940, he received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Kansas State University. He was an Army veteran of World War II where he served in Hawaii and the Philippines. In 1947, Mr. McGrew earned his master's degree from Kansas University. He then was employed by Phillips Petroleum in Bartlesville, Okla., and was assigned as lab supervisor at the Borger plant. After his retirement, he moved to Roswell in 1983. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He married Willie Fay Ussery in 1956 at Borger. Survivors include his wife; a son, John Ussery of Roswell; three grandsons; and four great-grandsons. Elsewhere Marilynn Beth Jokisch ARLINGTON - Marilynn Beth Jokisch, 73, a former Amarillo resident, died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at First Baptist Church in Arlington. Burial was in Moore Memorial Gardens by Arlington Funeral Home. Mrs. Jokisch was born in Stuart, Okla., and had lived in Arlington for 45 years. She had been a resident of Amarillo, graduating from Amarillo High School in 1941. After graduation, she entered the St. Anthony Hospital School of Nursing. She later worked for Santa Fe Railway district headquarters in Amarillo. Mrs. Jokisch was a member of First Baptist Church in Arlington where she played the piano for Sunday school classes, senior groups and weddings. She had been a member of the Women's Bible Study Fellowship and Arlington Garden Club. She also was a member of Order of Eastern Star 249. She retired in 1981 from the loan department of what is now Chase Bank. Survivors include her husband, Luron O. Jokisch; two sons, Keith Jokisch of North Richland Hills and Kregg Jokisch of Fort Worth; a daughter, Karla Smith of Arlington; two sisters, Myrah Wilkins of Arlington and Korkye Purviance of Carrollton; six grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Oklahoma Hattie Harris CLINTON, Okla. - Hattie Harris, 74, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Third Street Church of Church in Sentinel with the Rev. Louis Hopkins and the Rev. Charles Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in Sentinel Cemetery by Kiesau Funeral Home of Clinton. Mrs. Harris was born in Denison, Texas and lived in and around Hollis until her marriage. She lived in Sunray from 1952 until 1986 when they spent time traveling. In 1990, she moved to Clinton where she was a member of Third Street Church of Christ. She married Andy Verdean Harris in 1943. He died in 1997. Survivors include three sons, Marion Dean Harris of Tuttle, Don Harris of Dumas, Texas and Richard Harris of Yukon; two daughters, Rita Upton of Hardin, Texas and Debra Vazquez of Amarillo; two brothers, Daniel Sexton Jr. of Amarillo and James Edward Sexton of Hudson, Fla.; a sister, Dorothy Elizabeth Gilliam of Clinton; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. LeRoy A. Matzek GUYMON, Okla. - LeRoy A. Matzek, 76, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999. Private family memorial services are planned. Arrangements and disposition of cremains are by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home of Guymon. Mr. Matzek was born and raised in Guymon where he graduated from high school. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. In 1987, he retired as a self-employed general contractor. Mr. Matzek was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Guymon Elks Lodge. In 1997, he moved to Guymon from Tow, Texas. He married Sally Cronin in 1946 at Guymon. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Pamela Brooks of Guymon; a son, Ryan Matzek of Guymon; a sister, Lucille Michaud of Guymon; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Arthritis which will be accepted at Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1112, Guymon, OK 73942.
