Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Ochiltree Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Shrader was born in Silex, Mo., and moved to Ochiltree County in 1915 with his family. In 1927, he graduated from Perryton High School. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Cheyenne Wells, Colo., in 1946. In the 1930s, Mr. Shrader was time keeper and payroll clerk for government projects in Ochiltree County. He was a farmer and rancher for most of his life. In 1946, he purchased a ranch in Cheyenne County, Colo., where he and his wife lived for 38 years. In 1984, they moved to Brighton. He married Frances Ragan in 1929 at Stinnett. She died in 1995. Survivors include a son, Glen E. Shrader Jr. of Lakewood, Colo.; three daughters, Wetah Jean Ferguson of Aurora, Colo., Mary Lou Little of Carlsbad, Calif., and Ronda Lynn Davis of Aurora; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Hyman was born in the Bulcher Community in Cooke County and moved to Shamrock in 1907. During World War II, he served in the Army. Harguess officiating. Burial will be in Friona Cemetery by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona. Mrs. May was born in Frederick, Okla., and moved to Friona in 1948 from Rush Springs, Okla. In 1989, she retired after 23 years as secretary of Sixth Street Church of Christ, where she also was a member. Mrs. May was a homemaker. She published a book of poetry in 1988. She married Hardy May in 1928 at Frederick. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1978 and by an infant son, Hardy Max May, in 1929. Green, 93, of Bakersfield, Calif., died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 1999. Services were at 3 p.m. Saturday in Roaring Springs Cemetery with the Rev. Rickey Lawrence, pastor of Roaring Springs Full Gospel Church, officiating. Arrangements were by Seigler Funeral Home of Matador. Mr. Green was born in Dickens County. He was a longtime resident of Roaring Springs prior to moving to Bakersfield in 1953. He retired as a loan analyst for Production Credit Association and the Federal Land Bank. He also worked for the Farmers Home Administration in Kern County, Calif. He married Annie Fern Marshall in 1933. She died in 1997. He retired as a technical sergeant in 1970 after 23 years in the Air Force. He also retired as a distribution technician for Southern Union Gas. In 1978, Mr. Trumbly received an associate's degree in business management from Frank Phillips College. He married Midori Trumbly in 1953 at Japan. She died in 1995. James McLeod, pastor, and the Rev. Elvis Pitts, pastor of Faith Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mr. Bowen was born in Jack County and moved to Wellington in 1915 with his family in a covered wagon. He graduated from Wellington High School and attended Draughon's Business College. He was a musician for many churches in the area. For 27 years, Mr. Bowen was an engineer for St. Joseph's Hospital and Collingsworth General Hospital. He retired as a purchasing agent. Prior to working for the hospitals, he was a farmer, in construction and was a dispatcher for Greenbelt Electric Co-op for 10 years. Mr. Bowen was a charter member and former member of the Lions Club, former member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge, Rotary Club and Kiwanis. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He married Iris Mozelle Graham in 1939 at Wellington. She died in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Kresch of Orlando, Fla.; four sons, Keith Bowen of Perryton, Graham Bowen of Memphis, Dwight Bowen of Hollis, Okla., and Jerry Bowen of Claude; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Local arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Bateman was born in Lindale. She attended St. Mary's Conservatory of Music in Dallas. She worked for Baldwin Piano Co. in Dallas and was an instructor. Mrs. Bateman played piano for WRR radio station and later performed on a regularly scheduled show on WRR. After her marriage, she lived in Plainview and continued to teach piano. She substituted as organist at the First Presbyterian Church where she was a member. She married Walker H. Bateman Jr. in 1929 at Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970 and a son, Walker H. Bateman III. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Bateman of Dayton, Ohio, and James Bateman of Tool; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Garden of Prayer in Westlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Tadlock was born in Oklahoma City. In 1938, he moved to Borger, where he worked in the oil fields, graduated from Borger High School in 1952 and attended Frank Phillips College. He traveled around the world drilling oil and gas wells, returned to Borger in 1968 and bought Mobil Oil Wholesale. He acquired a fleet of trucks, a silver mine in Elko, Nev., and a sawmill in Valiant, Okla. He married Jean Blackshear in 1969 at Clayton, N.M. His son, Jack Lavoy Tadlock, died in 1970. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Roberts was born in Foard County and had lived in Quanah for 62 years. For 29 years, she owned a flower shop and for many years, taught Sunday school at First United Methodist Church, where she was a member. She was also a member of the PTA, Home Demonstration Club, Order of Eastern Star, 1904 Club, the Garden Club and was a national accredited flower judge in the area. She married Earl Curtis "Jake" Roberts in 1937 at Frederick, Okla. He died in 1974. Mrs. Marquardt moved to Amarillo 1 1/2 years ago. She had lived in Pine Bluff, Wyo., taught school in Headrick, Okla., and for 10 years, lived in Loveland, Colo. She married Woodard Lee in 1926 at Headrick. He died in 1973. She married John Marquardt in 1976 at McAllen. He died in 1996. Georgia St., with Dr. David Evans of Trinity Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Burba was born in Oklahoma and was a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church in Houston. After his retirement from Gulf Oil as the International Drilling Superintendent, he worked for Transco Oil Co. He had lived in Odessa, Monahans, Crane and Kuwait. He was a paratrooper during World War II and a member of the Shriners. He lived in Houston for 15 years before moving to Amarillo 31/2 years ago. He married Robbie Lee Prim in 1949 at West Columbia. Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Leslie Burba III of Charlotte, N.C., and Daniel Clarence Burba of Amarillo; a brother, Dee Burba of Wellington; three sisters, Frances Price of Odessa, Linda Russell of Amarillo and Etta Sherburne of Baton Rouge, La.; and five grandchildren. Amarillo Sunday News-Globe Dec. 5, 1999 Howard John Holcomb Sr. Howard John Holcomb Sr., 77, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sammie Rainey, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Holley Funeral Home of Canyon. Mr. Holcomb was born in Chiahoga, Ohio, and retired after 36 years as an X-ray technician at Pantex. He served with the Army Air Corps during World War II, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and North American Boat Association. He married Mary Zella Riley in 1945 at Bossier City, La. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Patsy Parker of Bowie, Dee Ramirez of Amarillo and Carla Sue Tatum of Gahanna, Ohio; three sons, Jimmie Todd of Bowie, Howard John Holcomb Jr. of Brazoria and David Arther Holcomb of Crowley; a sister, Laura Toph of Ukiah, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Georgia St., with Monsignor Joseph Tash of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church officiating. Mr. Schiff was born in Evansville, Ind. He was Works Manager for Servel Inc., for many years and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He married Anna Marie Barthel in Evansville 66 years ago. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jon Schiff of Key West, Fla.; two daughters, Judy Thoman of Amarillo and Jane Hedges of Oak Park, Ill.; and eight grandchildren. Peck, 84, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, at Littlefield, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Dunn Memorial Chapel with Ross Black of the Assembly of God Church in Sudan and Glenn McNutt of the Assembly of God Church in Amarillo. Burial will be in the family plot at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Peck was born in Bridgeport, Okla., and had been a longtime resident of Tucumcari. He was a rancher and a farmer. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the Armor Division. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl, in 1979. Survivors include two sons, Carl Peck of Sudan and William Peck of Kennewick, Wash.; a daughter, Linda Littlejohn of Vale, Ore.; a brother, Lloyd Peck of Geary, Okla.; a sister, Wilda Goode of Geary; 12 grandchildren; and 11 greatgrandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Texhoma United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dane Lemmons officiating. Burial will be in Texhoma, Texas Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma. Mrs. Pugh was born in Guymon and was raised in Goodwell, where she graduated from high school. She attended Panhandle A&M College. After her marriage, Mrs. Pugh moved to Texhoma, where she was employed as bookkeeper and office manager for the Texhoma Livestock Auction. She was active in the United Methodist Church where she was choir director and soloist. She married Jerry Pugh in 1955 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Steve Pugh of Farmington, N.M., and David Pugh of Texhoma; a daughter, Lesli Nichols of Amarillo; her mother, Eleanor Gravlee of Amarillo; a sister, Kay Liles of Kenosha, Wash.; and six grandchildren. Mr. Caruthers was born in Wade, Okla., and lived in Amarillo where he was a member of the Serta Club. A retired employee of the Lone Star Co., he moved to Arlington in 1992. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma. Survivors include a brother, Johny Caruthers of Las Cruces, N.M., and nieces and nephews. Amarillo Sunday News-Globe Dec. 5, 1999 Jack E. Thompson GRAND PRAIRIE - Jack E. Thompson, 34, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999. Services were at 10 a.m. Nov. 30 in Abundant Life Assembly of God in Grand Prairie. Burial was in Parkdale Cemetery in Arlington by Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home of Grand Prairie. Mr. Thompson was born and raised in Borger. In 1983, he graduated as valedictorian of Phillips High School. He received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Texas Tech University where he was a member of Beta Alpha Psi. Mr. Thompson was an accountant manager for Meristar Hotels and Resorts. He was a member and a director of the Abundant Life Assembly of God Church in Grand Prairie and was a basketball coach for the Arlington YMCA. He married Cheryl Scruggs in 1989 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; three children, Brianna, Joshua and Jacob, all of the home; his mother, Patricia Thompson of Borger; a brother, Jeff Thompson of Charlotte, S.C.; and his grandfather, Dale Bryan of Borger. Burgess Dold MASON - Annie L. Burgess Dold, 82, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Gooch Cemetery in Mason with the Rev. Jim McClain, pastor of United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Mason Funeral Home of Mason. Mrs. Dold was born in Happy. She received her bachelor of science degree from West Texas State Teacher's College and received her master's of arts degree. She taught in Texas and New Mexico until her retirement. In 1951, Mrs. Dold moved to Mason, where she was a teacher and a member of Mason United Methodist Church. She married Clarence Dold in 1951 at Lubbock. He died in 1998. Survivors include a sister, Estelle Parken of Augusta, Ga.; and three brothers, Sidney Burgess of Canyon, Edmond Burgess of Salt Lake City and Winston Burgess of Amarillo.
