Mr. Keil was born in Butler, Okla., and had lived in Amarillo since 1950. He graduated from Stafford High School at Stafford, Okla. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Keil had worked for the Helium Plant. He was a member of North Beacon Church of the Nazarene. He married Lillie Irene in 1944 at Butler. She died in 1993. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Harvey and Freda Goodwin, both of Bullard, and Sarah Bristow of Amarillo; a sister, Betty Garcia of California; special friend, Joyce Richardson; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Holley Funeral Home Inc. of Canyon. Mrs. Pierce was born in Nay. She married Carl Ray Pierce in 1949 in Canyon. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Shirley Yvonne Frye of Amarillo; a son, Jimmie Ray Pierce of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, Merton Lee Johnson of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Geneva Granville McClendon Geneva Granville McClendon, 41, a former Amarillo resident, died Thursday, July 29, 1999, at Atlanta. She attended public schools in Colorado and was a graduate of Watson High School. She had been an Amarillo resident from 1972 to 1977. She was a member of the Church of God in Christ. Georgia St. Andrew was born in Amarillo and had been a lifelong resident. He graduated from First Christian Church Child Garden School and then attended St. Andrew's Episcopal School. He would have been in the third grade. He was a member of the Amarillo Swim Team, Wolf Cub Scout Pack 63, and the Amarillo Ice Hockey and Roller Hockey Association. He also participated in the Potter County 4-H equestrian division and studied piano under the instruction of Mrs. Julia O'Dell. Andrew was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and also was a member of the St. Thomas Youth Group. He received the St. Andrew's Episcopal School Bronco Spirit Award in 1998. He had played on several YMCA Youth Baseball City Champion Teams. Survivors include his parents, Pedro and Anne Hernandez of Amarillo; a brother, Jeffrey B. Hernandez of the home; grandparents, Patrick Joseph Hegarty of Amherst, N.H., and Mery Lattuf de Hernandez of Valencia, Venezuela. Georgia St. Mr. Collins was born in Skidmore, Mo. He graduated in 1952 from Norcatur High School at Norcatur, Kan. He attended Arizona State College at Tempe, Ariz., while he was stationed at Williams Air Force Base at Chandler, Ariz. He completed a two-year radio and television vocational training course in 1962 in Amarillo. He was self-employed in the mobile home industry in Amarillo and Lubbock for 40 years. The past 13 years, he owned and operated Chuck's Mobile Home Supply in Amarillo. He was a member of Lubbock First Christian Church. He married Louise Morford in 1958 at Oberlin, Kan. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Valerie Collins of Lubbock; a son, Vince Collins of Lubbock; and two grandchildren. Mrs. Clark was born in Blytheville, Ark., and moved to Amarillo in 1971 from Germany. She was the director of the Amarillo Women's Bowling Association and a homemaker. She married Joseph Clark in 1959 at Michigan City, Ind. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Kaye McClure, in 1996. Rose Beeman Rose Beeman, 92, of Dalhart and formerly of Amarillo, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999. She moved to Dalhart in 1996. She married Leslie Beeman in 1928 at Amarillo. He died in 1994. Survivors include a son, Jim Beeman of San Diego; a daughter, Jean Smallwood of Dalhart; a sister, Betty Anderson of Mesa, Ariz.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren. Mr. Scarth was born in Okeene, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1980. He was a farmer, livestock trader, and owner-operator of several food and beverage outlets and rental properties. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mable. Survivors include two sons, Bill R. Scarth of Claremore and Jim R. Scarth of Laverkin, Utah; a daughter, Jean Ann Scarth Littau of Amarillo; a sister, Jane Schuebel of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. She had been a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church since 1958 and was a member of the Christian Workers Sunday School Class. She married Fredric Henry Myers in 1945 at Amarillo. New Mexico Tex Cowen TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Tex Cowen, 60, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. B.J. Wilmoth, minister of the United Pentecostal Church of St. Redlands, Calif., officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Cowen was born in Mullen, Texas. He was the fairgrounds caretaker for Quay County. Survivors include his wife, Sheila; four sons, Gary Cowen and Arlen Cowen, both of New Concord, Ky., Greg Cowan of San Bernardino, Calif., and Alvin Cowen of Riverside, Calif.; a daughter, Brenda Carr of St. Redlands, Calif.; two brothers, Glendon Cowen of Rankin, Texas, and Darrell Cowen of Melvin, Texas; two sisters, Delia Hooper of Melvin and Alice Morris of Brownwood, Texas; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be until service time today at the funeral home. Dorothy Tracy Stalcup CLOVIS, N.M. - Dorothy Tracy Stalcup, 91, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Williams officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens in Clovis. Mrs. Stalcup was born in Little Rock, Ark., and moved to Clovis at a young age. She graduated from Clovis High School in 1926. She was employed in the ladies wear department of Mandell's Department Store. Later, Mrs. Stalcup was employed in the housewares department of Barry Hardware where her husband was a partner. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She married R.D. Stalcup in 1926. He died in 1990. She is survived by cousins, nieces and nephews. Area Charles Edward Poston BORGER - Charles Edward "Jack" Poston, 87, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Richard Bartel, associate pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Poston was born in Jonesboro, and moved to Borger eight months ago from Pampa, where he had lived since 1934. He worked for E.D. Baker for many years and for White Construction Co. in Pampa. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He married Mary Stone in 1933 at Arnett, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Emma Lee Poston of Amarillo and Mary Gene Poston of Borger; a son, Jerry L. Poston of Borger; a brother, C.L. White of Abilene; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mary Ann Martinez Berumon HEREFORD - Mary Ann Martinez Berumon, 29, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in La Iglesia de San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev. Domingo Castillo officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Berumon was born in Hereford where she was a lifelong resident. After graduating from Hereford High School in 1988, she attended West Texas State University for a year. She married David Berumon in 1990 at Hereford. Survivors include her husband; her mother, Julieta Galen of Hereford; and two sisters, Mary Jane Martinez and Adela Gonzales, both of Hereford. Rodney McCulloch PAMPA - Rodney McCulloch, 41, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. in Lockney Cemetery in Lockney by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mr. McCulloch was born in Lockney where he graduated from high school in 1976. He had worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., for 10 years, farmed for Lewis Davis and Neal Stovall and worked for the Munday Co. At the time of his death, Mr. McCulloch was a corrections officer for the Jordan Unit. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, the Hoover Volunteer Fire Department and the Top O'Texas Rodeo Association. Survivors include his parents, Bryan and Joy McCulloch of Lockney and Charlotte McCulloch of Lubbock; a sister, Rhonda Chapman of Pampa; two brothers, Jaime McCulloch of Denver City and David McCulloch of Lockney; and his grandmother, Gladys Ragle of Lockney. The family suggests memorials be to Hoover Volunteer Fire Department, Top O'Texas Rodeo Association, the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center or a favorite charity. Lewis H. Eudy TURKEY - Lewis H. Eudy, 84, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Ulrey of First United Methodist Church of Perryton and Melvin Clinton, pastor of First Baptist Church of Turkey, officiating. Graveside services with rites by the Masonic Lodge of Turkey will be in Dreamland Cemetery by Cook-Walden Funeral Home of Austin and MyersLong Funeral Home of Turkey. Mr. Eudy was born in Turkey where he was a farmer, owner of Eudy-Seale Funeral Home in Turkey and Matador, owner of a Phillips 66 dealership and a licensed pilot. He was a mayor of Turkey, former president of the school board and a member of the Lion's Club. A member of the First United Methodist Church, Mr. Eudy also served on the church board. He was a member of the Quitaque Masonic Lodge No. 1248 AF&AM, the Scottish Rite Bodies and a 50-year member of Khiva Temple Shrine with a KCCH honorary degree. He also had received his 50-year Masonic pin. Survivors include his wife, Mozelle Eudy; a son, Ronald Eudy of Austin; three brothers, Hugh Eudy of Midland, Tom Eudy of Turkey and Jay Eudy of Levelland; a sister, Cleo Green of Slaton; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends this evening in Myers-Long Funeral Home in Turkey. Jerry Don Brannon QUITAQUE - Jerry Don Brannon, 58, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Little and the Rev. Lance Cypert, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Quitaque. Mr. Brannon was born in Tulia. He graduated from Silverton High School and attended Tarleton State University. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Quitaque. He married Peggy Walker in 1964 at Stephenville. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Brannon, in 1990. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Amy Stewart of Floydada; his parents, Seymour and Ruby Brannon of Silverton; two brothers, Joe Brannon and Wade Brannon, both of Silverton; and a grandson. Harold Wayne Neal CLARENDON - Harold Wayne Neal, 65, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Martin Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Neal was born in Goodnight and was a Clarendon resident for most of his life. He was a veteran of the Army and a Baptist. He retired as a truck driver. He married Joyce Louise Thomas in 1991 at Clarendon. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Kathy Pollard of Andrews and Stacy Collins of White Deer; his parents, Leslie and Dora Neal of Clarendon; three brothers, Kenneth Neal, Frank Neal and Benny Neal; and four grandchildren. James Haskell Swearingen CLARENDON - James Haskell Swearingen, 73, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, pastor of Martin Baptist Church, and the Rev. Rob Seale, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Swearingen was born in Hanna, Okla., and lived in Amarillo from 1945 until 1967 when he moved to Arlington. In 1975, he moved to Clarendon. Mr. Swearingen was an Army veteran of World War II. In 1991, he retired from Greenbelt Water Authority after 16 years of service. He married Doyce Myrne Barker in 1945 at Memphis. She died in 1995. Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Shults of Gruver and Penny McAnear of Clarendon; four sons, James H. Swearingen Jr. and Terry Lynn Swearingen, both of Amarillo, Bobby Swearingen of Clarendon and Kenny Swearingen of Fort Stockton; two sisters, Ruth Melton and Mary Alice Rich, both of Amarillo; a brother, Elbert Swearingen of Fort Worth; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to the Northwest Texas Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; the American Diabetes Foundation or the American Cancer Society. Martha Jane Smith STRATFORD - Martha Jane Smith, 79, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Stratford Baptist Church with David White officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma, Okla. Mrs. Smith was born in Dalhart and moved to Stratford after her marriage. She was a homemaker and bookkeeper for Fredrick Drilling Co. for 15 years. She was active in the Stratford Order of Eastern Star, a 50-year member of the Star Home Demonstration Club and a member of the Baptist Church. She married Jim Wilson Smith in 1939 at Dumas. He died in 1997. Survivors include two sons, Jess Carl Smith and Jim Earl Smith, both of Stratford; a sister, Jessie Thompson of Dalhart; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center of Amarillo which may be left in care of the funeral home.
