Pair Roy V. Pair, 56, a former Amarillo resident, of Cordova, Tenn., died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. John McClean, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Pair was born in Houston and was a longtime Amarillo resident. He graduated from Tascosa High School and then West Texas State University in 1967. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Price was a co-owner of Fantastic Sam's in Germantown, Tenn. He was a former transportation management employee with Ford Motor Co., and Oster/Sunbeam and Cleo in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of the Germantown Area Chamber of Commerce and of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife, Sonja; a daughter, Patricia Diane Pair of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Tom Pair of Atlanta, Ga.; his parents, Gerald Dean and William Luther Pair of Amarillo; a brother, William Wayne Pair of Amarillo; and a grandson. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials be to the American Diabetes Association. Bob L. Childers Bob L. Childers, 76, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, 315 E. Fifth Ave., with the Rev. Bob Murphy, associate minister of Paramount Terrace Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Childers was born in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School and was an Army veteran of World War II. In 1983, he retired as the assistant fire chief for the Amarillo Fire Department. He married Blanche McGee in 1940 in Amarillo. She died in 1987. Survivors include a son, Billy Childers of Amarillo; a daughter, Cheryl Tibbett of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a brother, Kewen Childers of Ulysses, Kan.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the Disabled American Veterans. Violet Fuller Violet "Vi" Fuller, 92, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Fairview Cemetery at Pampa. Mrs. Fuller was born in South Portsmouth, Ky., and had lived in Pampa from 1929 until 1989. She moved to Amarillo 10 years ago. She was a gardener who won awards with her Irises. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Pampa. She married Charles Edgar Fuller in 1924 at Pawhuska, Okla. He died in 1983. Survivors include a son, Larry K. Fuller of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She moved to Amarillo six years ago. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Hollis. She married William Henry Sherwood in 1931. Survivors include her husband; a son, William W. Sherwood of Amarillo; two sisters, Sue Morrow of Borger and Jean Gant of Aiken, S.C.; a brother, Paul Doughten of Gould, Okla.; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren. New Mexico Kenneth Doolittle TEXICO, N.M. - Kenneth Doolittle, 63, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Texico Cemetery with the Rev. Bob Brown officiating. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Mr. Doolittle was born in Clovis and had lived in the area most of his life. He worked for the Texico public schools in the maintenance department, retiring in 1981. He was a Baptist. Survivors include four brothers, Leon Doolittle and Ansel Doolittle, both of Lubbock, Texas, Marvin Doolittle of Clovis and Gayle Doolittle of Texico; and two sisters, Sue Scott of Miller, Mo., and Doris Tucker of Anaheim, Calif. Aurvil Price CLOVIS, N.M. - Aurvil Price, 95, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999. Mrs. Price was born in Tennessee. She homesteaded with her parents in 1907 at Bellview. She married Loyd C. Price and they farmed in the Bellview community. Later the Prices began working in the grocery business at Ranchvale, moving to Clovis in 1934 where she taught school. After retiring, she was the director of a child-care center at the West 21st Street Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and a member of West 21st Street Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Ro Jeanne Thomas of Amarillo and Kay Wilson of Albuquerque, N.M.; a sister, Marie Witherspoon of Wichita, Kan.; and five grandchildren. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In 1984, Mr. Watson retired after 361/2 years of service with Shell Oil Co. He was with Shell in Midland for 23 years before being transferred as office supervisor of the Shell Tippett plant in McCamey. He married Elizabeth Ensey in 1941 at Ardmore, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ken Watson and Keith Watson, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Debra Trexler of Midland; four grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Antonia Alcazar Garcia RIO GRANDE CITY - Antonia Alcazar Garcia, 90, a former Amarillo resident, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Rio Grande City. Burial will be in Rio Grande City Cemetery by Sanchez Funeral Home. An Amarillo resident for most of her life, Mrs. Garcia was preceded in death by three sons, Rogelio Garcia in 1966, and Bruno Garcia Sr., and Audolio Garcia Sr., both in 1997. Survivors include three sons, Simon Garcia Sr., of Mission, Edelmaro Garcia of Amarillo and Isabel "Junior" Garcia of Boyd; four daughters, Maria Del Carmen Baca, Maria Hilda Garcia and Maria Aricelda Nolan, all of Amarillo, and Maria Juana Aguilar of Saginaw; a brother, Ernesto Alcazar of McAllen; two sisters, Romana Alcazar and Guadalupe Alcazar of Pharr; 34 grandchildren; and 49 great-grandchildren. Area J.T. Baird WHEELER - J.T. "Nick" Baird, 78, of Lavon and a former Amarillo resident, died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999. Services were at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Wheeler Church of Christ with Jerry Dorman of Pampa officiating. Burial was in the Wheeler Cemetery by Allen Funeral Home of Wylie and Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Baird was born in Mobeetie and attended schools in Kelton and Wheeler. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He had been a member of the Church of Christ for 48 years and served as deacon in Sudan and in Amarillo for 35 years. In 1984, Mr. Baird retired after 34 years with Southwestern Public Service Co. His career began with the East Plant in Amarillo then he was transferred to Plant X in Earth where he was on the crew that brought the new facility on line in 1952. He transferred back to Amarillo where he was a control room operator at Nichols Station. After 35 years in Amarillo, he moved to Lavon in 1994. He married Minnilou Ratliff in 1949 at Lela. Survivors include his wife; a son, Terry Baird of Sachse; three sisters, Lucille Anderson of Midland, Loraine Wagner of Plainview and Gillrie Rogers of Sudan; and three grandsons, Corey, Brett and Jeff Baird, all of Sachse. William Everett Blackman BORGER - William Everett "Blackie" Blackman, 90, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Brown Funeral Directors, Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Lyndon Glaesman of New Orleans, La., officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery. Mr. Blackman was born in Canadian and had lived in Borger for 73 years. He was a retired electrician for Colonial Pipeline and Phillips Petroleum. He was a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church and BPOE 1581. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florene Blackman, in 1954 and by his second wife, Hazel O. Blackman, in 1992. Survivors include a son, Jim Blackman of Borger; a stepson, Gene Guyer; two daughters, Betty Miser of Pampa and Linda York of Seattle; a stepdaughter, Kay May of Skellytown; a brother, James Blackman of Lebanon, Mo.; a sister, Velma Warren of Lebanon; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two greatgreat-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Estes was born and raised in Allison. In 1943, he moved to Dalhart where he farmed and ranched until retiring. For a few years, he operated a livestock auction at Vinita, Okla. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He married Madge Brown in 1971. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Horace Estes of Dalhart and Vestal Estes of Siloam Spring, Ark.; a daughter, Madge Helen Riherd of Dalhart; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. William Gray PERRYTON - William "Bill" Gray, 85, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Ulrey officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Mr. Gray was born in Beaver County, Okla., and was a longtime resident of the Perryton area. He graduated from Perryton High School and attended college at Goodwell, Okla. He served on the Perryton Equity CoOp for 21 years, retiring as president in 1981. He was a farmer and lived winters in Arizona and summers in Texas. He was a five-time golf champion at Perryton. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel Mae, in 1986 and by a daughter, Brenda, in 1964. He married Dorothy Balzer in 1989. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Billiemae Rash of Maryland; two sisters, Audean Simpson of Amarillo and Erva Rogers of Los Gatos, Calif.; two grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren. She was a homemaker and member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married Richard C. Langley in 1959. He died in 1989. Survivors include a brother, Charles Land of Amarillo, and a sister, Alien Yazel of Centerton, Ark. Erma Lee Campbell PADUCAH - Erma Lee Campbell died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah. Mrs. Campbell was born in Fannin County and graduated from Paducah High School. For many years, she was bookkeeper/cashier at Hall-Scruggs. She lived in Ephrata, Wash., and returned to Paducah in 1978. She married Troy L. Campbell in 1932 at Paducah. He died in 1954. She is survived by two sisters, Mavis Anderson and Rogene Paschall, both of Paducah, and several nieces and nephews. Amanda Sorrels Allen PLAINVIEW - Amanda Sorrels Allen, 93, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church of Bogata with David Griffin of Kerrville and Kenny Dickson of the church officiating. Burial will be in Bogata Cemetery in Bogata. Services are by Wood Funeral Home of Bogata with local arrangements by WoodDunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Allen was born in Bogata and moved to Plainview in 1984. She was a longtime church musician and a piano teacher for more than 40 years. She was a member of Bogata United Methodist Church. She married Gordon Allen in 1933 at Bogata. He died in 1980. She is survived by a daughter, Betty Hurt of Plainview, and three grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at Wood Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until service time Monday. She was a resident of Canterbury Villa for the past three years. She was a Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Haydon, in 1968. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Marcelene Nachlinger PAMPA - Marcelene Nachlinger, 77, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Nachlinger was born in Wellington, moved to Lefors in 1945 and then moved to Pampa in 1952. For 37 years, she was an engineering assistant for Cabot Corp. She was a member of St. Matthews Episcopal Church. She married Leon K. Nachlinger in 1945 at Sioux Falls, S.D. He died in 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Pat Rogers of Canadian and Carol Kiker of Allison; a son, Kenny Nachlinger of Katy; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials be to Hemphill County Hospice in Canadian. Gladys L. Bohannon CHILDRESS - Gladys L. Bohannon, 92, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999. Graveside services will be at 5 p.m. today in Childress Cemetery. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Bohannon moved to Childress in 1928 and was a longtime resident. She was a homemaker. She married M.T. Bohannon in 1928 at Anna. He died in 1975. Survivors include a sister, Gracie Hackoy of Childress, and four nieces, Margaret Bobo, Margaret Havins, Velma Valentine and Georgia Watson, all of Childress.
