Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Darryl Birkenfeld, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Stratford Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Garza was born in Dumas and graduated from Stratford High School in 1990. For the past five years, he was employed in Cactus by Monfort Inc., where he worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and was a union steward. He had lived in Stratford for most of his life and had moved to Dumas six months ago. Survivors include his mother, Julieta Garza of Stratford; five sisters, Janie Rowley, Sara Tenorio, Maria Moreno, all of Stratford, and Irma Tijerina and Tina Tijerina, both of Dumas; five brothers, Eloy Garza Jr. of Dumas and Johnny Garza, Lupe Garza, Tino Garza and Ricky Garza, all of Stratford. The family will be at 409 N. Poplar in Stratford. Guy Hardin SHAMROCK - Guy Hardin, 87, died Friday, June 4, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Shamrock Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Hardin, pastor of First Baptist Church in Grandfield, Okla., officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Hardin was born in Munday, graduated from Sunset High School and in 1949 received a law degree from Baylor University. He served in the Army Air Corps and was an original member of the Shamrock unit of the Texas National Guard. In Shamrock, he practiced law for 40 years and was a city councilman, city attorney, served on the volunteer fire department and was a member of the Lions Club. He was also a member and officer of the DeShazo-George post of the American Legion and a charter member of the Shamrock Country Club. He spent several years as the Wheeler County Attorney, the South Wheeler County Hospital attorney, the South Wheeler County Precinct Justice of the Peace, and 14 years as District Attorney of the 31st Judicial District. Survivors include a son, Stephen Hardin of Houston; four daughters, Elaine Vinyard of Amarillo, Suzanne Pritchard of Houston, Carolyn Hardin Levine of Cleveland and Alicia Hamilton of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Charles Hardin of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to the Shamrock Cemetery Association; or a Veteran's organization; or a favorite charity. Maude Alexander GRUVER - Maude Alexander, 99, died Saturday, June 5, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Gruver United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Moore, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Gruver Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors of Guymon, Okla. Mrs. Alexander was born in Valley View, Cook County, and attended school in Stratford and college in Clarendon. She moved to Hansford County in 1921 and to Gruver in 1959. She taught in the county school of Stevens and was a member of Gruver United Methodist Church. She married Harley Alexander in 1919. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, George, in 1935, and David, in 1961. Her grandson, Homer Long, died in 1989. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Long of Guymon and Frances Murrell of Gruver; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Gruver United Methodist Church. A Maude Alexander Memorial has been established for the Gruver United Methodist Church. Beatrice Lucille McIver PERRYTON - Beatrice Lucille "Lucy" McIver, 77, died Saturday, June 5, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ken Cole officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Copeland, Kan. Mrs. McIver was born in Copeland, where she attended school. She lived in the Spearman area for 34 years and was a member of Senior Citizens. She moved from Amarillo to Spearman two weeks ago. She married Guy Melton McIver in 1941 at Copeland. He died in 1982. Survivors include two daughters, Jacqualine Elizabeth Haley of Aztec, N.M. and Margaret Ann Eller of Amarillo; a son, Charles L. McIver of Spearman; a brother, Lytle Barrett of Napa, Calif.; and two sisters, Mable Spencer of Caldwell, Kan. and Frances Harrison of Lockwood, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Bobby Wayne Hulsey Bobby Wayne Hulsey, 63, of Lake Tanglewood, died Thursday, June 3, 1999. He served with the Navy during the Korean War and was retired from Merchant's Freight Lines. He was active in the Maverick Club and Canyon Booster Club and was a member of Lake Tanglewood Community Church. He married Mary Jo Chappell in 1967 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Brent Morrison of Lawrence, Kan.; three daughters, Karen Hudson and Carla Coronado, both of San Jose, Calif. and Teresa Morrison of Garland; a sister, Helen Mayo of Fort Collins, Colo.; and five grandchildren. Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101. Ramon M. Romero Roman M. Romero, 61, of Amarillo, died Friday, June 4, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Colonial Funeral Chapel, 1010 W. Mr. Romero was born in Santa Rosa, N.M. and moved to Amarillo in 1943, where he worked as a carpet installer. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of Caprock Christian Fellowship Church. His son, Dimitri Romero, died in 1988. Mr. Romero married Dora Lomeli in 1981 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Johnny Romero of Amarillo; three stepsons, Kenny Knepp, Kevin Knepp and Kal Knepp, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Julie Perez of Amarillo; four brothers, Arthur Romero, George Romero, Manuel Romero and Sammy Romero, all of Amarillo; six sisters, Lucille Martinez, Inez Mata, Clara Fajardo and Olivia Ochoa, all of Amarillo, Nora Lopez of Houston and Marie Naquin of Mississippi; and nine grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center. Ethel Rogers Ethel Rogers, 98, of Amarillo, died Friday, June 4, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hillcrest Cemetery in McLean with the Rev. Thacker Haynes, pastor of McClean United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Rogers was born in Woodward County, Oklahoma Territory, and moved to Cottle County when she was a child. She attended school near Paducah and majored in elementary education and business at West Texas State College. She worked for Hedgecoke Motors in Amarillo and was a Presbyterian. Her first husband, Edwin Buchanan, died in 1947. Her second husband, J. Howard Rogers, died in 1988. Survivors include a daughter, Ardythe Truka of Wilmington, Del.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Bernard J. McNertney Bernard J. McNertney, 66, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 5, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor Francis Smyer of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell Street. Mr. McNertney was born in Omaha, Neb. and moved to Amarillo in 1979 from Pueblo, Colo. He served in the Army and was a finance manager. He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, No. 557 in Pueblo and No. 1450 in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Edward McNertney, in 1986. Survivors include Vada McNertney; a son, Joe McNertney of San Diego; four daughters, Maureen McNertney of Cibolo, Mary McNertney of Dallas, Teresa Mathews of Pueblo and Laurie Cano of Livermore, Calif.; and 11 grandchildren. Orwin, 86, died Friday, June 4, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in The Chapel, 1500 Thornton, with John Rollinson officiating. Military rites will be by Cannon Air Force Base Honor Guard. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mr. Orwin was born in Somerset, Ky. and moved to Clovis in 1962. He was a veteran of World War II and manager for Swift and Co. until his retirement in 1976. He was a 50-year Mason, a Shriner, Scottish Rite, and a Paul Harris Fellow of the Noon Day Rotary Club. He was also a life member of Reserve Officers Association and a member of VFW Post No. 3220, American Legion Post No. 25 and the Masonic Lodge No. 712 in Collinsville, Ill. He married Norma Pool in 1976 at Las Vegas. Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Jones of El Paso and Ransom Jones of West Port, Conn.; a daughter, Karen Green of Granada Hills, Calif.; a brother, Donald Orwin of Somerset; and seven grandchildren. Mr. Dehn was born in Amarillo, graduated from Coronado High School and worked as a manager for Office Max. He recently moved to Austin from Houston. Survivors include his father, Charles Dehn of Jacksonville, Fla.; his mother Carolyn Dehn of Lubbock; a brother, Paul Dehn of Lubbock; a sister, Kerri Dehn of Austin; and a grandmother, Nell Tedford of Lubbock.
