She worked for Dr. and Mrs. Hal Riddle for more than 30 years before retiring in 1994. She was a member of Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Junell Anderson of the home; four sisters, Ruby Gentry and Willie Lee Johnson, both of Los Angeles, Elizabeth Meno of Palmdale, Calif., and Margie Mae Anderson of Amarillo; and a brother, Donald Anderson of Amarillo. Georgia St. Mr. Williams was born in Casa Grande, Ariz. He graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyo., and attended Eastern Wyoming Junior College in Torrington, Wyo. He received a bachelor's degree from West Texas A&M University in Canyon. He as an avid horseman, hunter and fisherman. He worked for Cattleco cattle feeders. Survivors include his parents, Darrell and Charlie Williams of Amarillo; and a brother, Jon D. Williams of Amarillo. Max Gonzales Max Gonzales, 56, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999. She married Eugene Cannon in 1949 at Quanah. He preceded her in death in 1996. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 28 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and a longtime member of North Amarillo Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Donald Dawson of Amarillo and Gene A. She was a homemaker. She married W.M. Merrell in 1935 at Estelline. He died in 1995. Survivors include her children, Patsy Lynn Norton of Amarillo, Ray Lynn Mabra of Houston, David Scott Mabra of Iowa Park and Rosann Scivally of Howardwick; a sister, Elga King of Amarillo; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Apodaca was born in Los Fresnos, Mexico. She moved to Clovis in 1976. She married Carlos Apodaca in Mexico. He preceded her in death in 1986. She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community and La Casa Senior Center. Olive Garrett CLOVIS, N.M. - Olive Garrett, 89, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Mission Garden of Memories with the Rev. David Swann officiating. Arrangements are by Muffley Funeral Home. Miss Garrett was born in Gossmer, Okla., and had been a longtime resident of Clovis. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma and taught school in California. She also taught piano and was an artist. She painted the gold-leaf trim at the Lyceum Theater. She was a member of Friends of the Library. Survivors include three nephews, Michael Garrett and Malcolm Garrett, both of Clovis, and Gene Garrett of Santa Fe; and a niece, Annette Ellison of Clovis. Marietta Rose Eggert TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Marietta Rose Eggert, 61, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999. Memorial services were Monday in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Arrangements were by Dunn Funeral Home. Mrs. Eggert was born in Chicago and had lived in Tucumcari for 25 years. She was a housekeeper for many years at the Ramada Inn. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include her husband, Dan Eggert; a daughter, Alexandria Eggert of Tucumcari; her mother, Rose Cavalli of Hayward, Calif.; two sisters, Monica Marcos of Hayward and Naomi Snyder of Peculiar, Mo.; and two grandchildren. Danny Garcia LOGAN, N.M. - Danny Garcia, 33, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, in Tucumcari. Mass will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. today in San Antonio Catholic Church by the Rev. John C. Daniel. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in the Logan Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home in Tucumcari. Mr. Garcia was born in Tucumcari and had been a lifetime resident of Logan. He had attended Logan public schools and was a strong supporter of Logan school athletic programs. He was a member of San Antonio Catholic Church. Survivors include his parents, Fermin and Carmen Garcia of Logan; two sisters, Diana Garcia and Donna Rivera, both of Logan; his paternal grandmother, Nicolacita Garcia of Logan; and his maternal grandmother, Tomasita Cordova of Logan. Marie Rierson CLOVIS, N.M. - Marie Knowles Rierson, 101, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Lyndon McDonald, Charles McDonald and Keith McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Rierson was born in Mills County. The youngest of 11 children, she moved with her pioneering family to New Mexico when she was six years old. She was baptized in 1931 in Lake McMillen. She was a member of the 21st Street Church of Christ and was a charter member of Baxter-Curren Senior Citizens Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buck Rierson; and by two sons, Winston McDonald and Raymond McDonald. Survivors include a son, Clayton McDonald of Van Horn, Texas; two daughters, Juanita Crouch of Clovis and Dorothy Izard of Artesia; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Berneice M. Andrew FORGAN, Okla. - Berneice M. Andrew, 82, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999. Mrs. Andrew was born in Park City, Utah. She attended Forgan High School. She married Wayne O. Andrew in 1935 at Enid. He preceded her in death in 1994. She was a homemaker and had been a member of the Baptist Church for 55 years. Survivors include her children, DeWayne Andrew of Glendale, Ariz., and Edith Purdue and Loraine Coleman, both of Tolleson, Ariz.; two sisters, Grace Wilson of Liberal, Kan., and Georgellen Bell of Enid; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Area Lavon Jones MULESHOE - Lavon Jones, 62, a former Parmer County resident, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, in Flower Mound. Mr. Jones was born in Parmer County. He lived in Oklahoma Lane, Parmer County, before moving to Flower Mound in 1989. He was a member of the Episcopal Church in Flower Mound and worked as a salesman in the real estate business. He married Marcella Ann Verner in 1960 at Portales, N.M. She died in 1991. Survivors include a daughter, Kellye Hall of Little Rock, Ark.; a brother, Melborn Jones of Davis, Okla.; and three grandchildren. Elder Porter was born in Cottle County and had been a lifelong resident of the Paducah area. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a retired carpenter and farmer. He also had been a Primitive Baptist minister, serving in churches in Plainview, Levelland, Afton and Paducah. He married Bonnie Holt in 1939 at Paducah. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Tim Porter of Crosbyton, Jim Porter of Lubbock, Talmadge Porter of Childress and Stephen Porter of Pampa; a daughter, Annette James of Paducah; two brothers, Dewey Porter of Amarillo and Van C. Porter of Dallas; two sisters, Marie Rekieta of Paducah and Mary Smith of Graham; 15 grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren. Glen Roger Billingsley SHAMROCK - Glen Roger Billingsley, 60, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Calvary Christian Fellowship Church with Joe G. Jernigan, pastor, officiating. Cremation was by Wright Funeral Directors. Mr. Billingsley was born in Heald. He married Nedra June Harris in 1959 at Shamrock. They lived on the north shore of Altus Lake. He worked as an electrician for more than 40 years and was employed by Southern Plains Electric in Lawton, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Bliss Martinez of Shamrock and Melissa Woolsey of Canon City, Colo.; a son, Glen Billingsley of Shamrock; five brothers, Clarence Billingsley, Lewis Billingsley and Joe Billingsley, all of McLean, Forrest Billingsley of Enid, Okla., and All Billingsley of Penrose, Colo.; a sister, Betty Hobbs of Shamrock; and seven grandchildren. He moved to Deaf Smith County in 1925 from Schoolton. He lived in Westway Community and was a member of Westway Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Ross Landers of El Paso; a daughter, Vesta Mae Nunley of Hereford; six grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Burns was born in Phoenix. He married Carla Manning in 1953 at Crowell. He had lived in Hereford since 1972. He owned and operated Adon Burns Trucking. He was a member of the Community Church of Hereford. He was preceded in death by a daughter. She was co-owner of Cates Men's and Boys' Wear. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Compton MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Albert H. Compton, 88, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999. Graveside services will be at noon Thursday in Rose Hill Cemetery at Tulia with the Rev. Jim Lacy, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Tulia, officiating. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home in Tulia. Mr. Compton was born in Arthur, Iowa. He married Jane Crocker in 1947 at Atlanta, Ga. She died in 1983. He attended Boyles Business College. He served in the Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He retired to Lubbock after 40 years with Walgreen Drug Co. Survivors include a daughter, Dianna Bosworth of Germantown; a sister, Elvira Madsen of Iowa; and three grandchildren.
