Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Norris, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Massey was born in Amarillo, where she was a lifetime resident. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Charles F. Massey, died in 1995. Survivors include two sons, Frederick Massey and Garvin H. Massey, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Parthinea Smith of Caledonia, Miss.; a sister, Geraldine Shugart of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The body will not be available for viewing. The family will be at 132 N. Rosemont. They request memorials be to a favorite charity. Interstate 40, with Dr. Stan Coffey of San Jacinto Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Keeney was born in Dumas and moved to Amarillo in 1958. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married Leo Keeney in 1936 at Canyon. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Keith Keeney of Ennis, Kenneth Keeney of Lubbock, Ronald Keeney of Arlington and Roger Keeney of Amarillo; a brother, J.O. Mills Jr. of Shawnee, Okla.; a sister, Veda Mae Mowery of Dumas; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The family will be at 1328 Hillcrest. Mrs. Evans was born in Kilgore and moved to Amarillo in 1957. She graduated from Palo Duro High School and attended Amarillo College. She worked for Corporate Systems in software quality assurance. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Laurence Cathedral with Monsignor Arturo Meca officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Mr. Herrera was born in Linares, Mexico and has lived in Amarillo for 61 years. He retired from Santa Fe Railway after 35 years of service. He was a member of Santa Fe Brotherhood Railroad Association and St. Laurence Cathedral. He married Paula Martinez in 1934 at Hereford. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Joe Herrera of Oklahoma City and Edward Herrera and Robert Herrera, both of Amarillo; six daughters, Ophelia Horick of San Antonio and Lydia Lichtie, Lupe Dominquez, Veda Gonzales, Ana Martinez and Lisa Fajardo, all of Amarillo; 36 grandchildren; and 59 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Dec. 8, 1999 Oklahoma Lloyd George Beerly French BOISE CITY, Okla. - Lloyd George Beerly French, 87, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul's United Methodist Church with David George officiating. Burial will be in the Kenton Cemetery at Kenton by Cimarron Mortuary. Mr. French was born in Kenton and moved to Boise City when he was a child. He worked at various jobs starting at an early age working for ranchers in the Kenton area and the different families he lived with. He and three other cowboys drove cattle for several years from town to town. He was the last of the four cattle drivers. He worked as a carpenter and helped build the town of Kenton. He also drove trucks and farmed. He married Alpha Lee Hiner in 1949. He was preceded in death by a daughter from a previous marriage. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Ellen Mae Jenkins; two sisters; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Walsh, 73, died Monday, Dec.6, 1999. Masonic graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in the City of Levelland Cemetery with rites by Levelland Lodge 1236 AF&AM. Arrangements are by George C. Price Funeral Directors. Dr. Walsh was born in Canyon and graduated from Canyon High School in 1943. He He served in the Navy from 1943 until 1946. He graduated from West Texas State College in 1947 and from Baylor University College of Medicine at Houston in 1951. Dr. Walsh moved to Levelland in 1956 from Lorenzo. He was associated with Renegar-Campbell-Walsh Hospital and the Levelland Clinic until 1971. He was a member of the Texas Medical Association and the Panhandle Chapter Academy of Family Practice. He was a Presbyterian, a life member of Lorenzo 1144 AF&AM, Khiva Temple of the Shrine in Amarillo and the Lubbock Scottish Rite Bodies. Survivors include his wife, Betty; two sons, Gary Thomas Walsh of Mabank and Dr. Drew L. Walsh of San Antonio; two daughters, Ann Walsh of Austin and Christi Cooper of Mabank; and 11 grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Dec. 8, 1999 Area Alton Porter DALHART - Alton Porter, 74, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999. Services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church with Ray M. Guy, senior minister of First Christian Church, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mr. Porter was born in Dallam County. He graduated from Dalhart High School in 1943. During World War II, he served with the Army in the European Theater in France. He was awarded the Purple Heart. After the war, Mr. Porter returned to Dalhart and operated a furniture store. He then moved to Fort Worth, where he sold insurance. After his retirement, he returned to Dalhart. Survivors include two daughters, Leslie Dupy of Springfield, Mo., and Lindsey Escott of Fort Worth; his mother, Villia Porter of Dalhart; a brother, Wendell Porter of Dalhart; and four grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Howardwick. She married Jack Hulsey in 1956. He preceded her in death. She married Glen Day in 1970 in Pampa. Survivors include a daughter, Glenda Day of Clarendon; two brothers, Bill Terry and Clarence Terry, both of Pampa; and three sisters, Bobbie Corbett of Borger, Jean Grantham of Oklahoma City, and Butchie Brinkley of Erick, Okla. Mr. Turley was born and raised in Borger, where he graduated from high school. An Army veteran, he served in Vietnam. He worked in the oil field as a pumper. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Robertson Funeral Directors Chapel of Memories with non-denominational ministers officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon. Mrs. Sanders was born in Munday, Knox County. For 25 years, she lived in Brice before moving to Clarendon in 1965. She retired in 1998 as owner of Oneta Sanders Real Estate. She was a member of a non-denominational church. She married Elmer Hugh Sanders in 1937 at Silverton. He died in 1990. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Sue Ariola of Brice; three sons, Leonard Lee Sanders of Topeka, Kan., Kenneth Hugh Sanders of Rawlins, Wyo., and Larry Earl Sanders of Fort Worth; three brothers, W.E. Stodghill of Amarillo, Clifton Stodghill of Silverton and Joe Ray Stodghill of Perryton; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony Hospice in Amarillo. Amarillo Daily News, Dec. 8, 1999 Mamie Olivia Ford LOCKNEY - Mamie Olivia Ford, 91, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Hawkins and the Rev. Cecil Golden officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-While Funeral Home of Lockney. Mrs. Ford was born in Mount Pleasant and moved to Floydada in 1908, where she attended schools. In 1931, she moved to Cedar Hill. Mrs. Ford was a retired school teacher who had taught at Liberty community. She was a Baptist. She married Raymond A. "Dick" Ford in 1931. He died in 1985. Survivors include a son, Ray Neal Ford of Floydada; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be to First Baptist Church, 401 S. Main, Lockney, TX 79241; or to a favorite charity. Amarillo Daily News, Dec. 8, 1999 David Leonard Campbell FLOYDADA - David Leonard Campbell, 80, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Floyd County Memorial Park by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada. Mr. Campbell was born in Matador and graduated from Roaring Springs High School in 1935. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. He moved to Floydada in 1958. Mr. Campbell was a retired farmer. He was a charter member of Lubbock Scottish Rite Bodies, a member of Floydada Chapter No. 227 RAM, Floydada Council No. 163 and Matador Lodge No. 824. He also was a member of First United Methodist Church. He married Dorothy Wason in 1946 at Matador. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Gary Campbell of Gonzales, La., and Gale Campbell and Greg Campbell, both of Floydada; a brother, Maurice Campbell of Amarillo; a sister, Sarah Hunter of Floydada; and six grandchildren.
