Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Hartley Christian Fellowship Church with the Rev. Gene Amerson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Hartley Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home Inc. of Dalhart. Mrs. Miller was born in Carey, raised in Wilco community and attended Dalhart schools. She graduated from Dalhart High School in 1936. With her husband, Mrs. Miller moved to California in 1951 then returned to Hartley in 1951. For 23 years, she was assistant postmaster. She was an Elkette and a member of the Hartley Study Club. She married Lloyd Miller in 1938 at Dalhart. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd; three sons, Clif Miller of San Clemente, Calif., Jim Miller of Osage Beach, Mo., and Ken Miller of Mattituck, N.Y.; a daughter, Donna Lenz of Dalhart; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Betty Lemon QUANAH - Betty Lemon, 69, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Wilbarger Memorial Park at Vernon with the Rev. John Spangler, minister of Trinity Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Price-Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Lemon was born in Vernon and was a lifetime resident of Hardeman and Wilbarger counties. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She married Jodie Lemon in 1950 at Elliott. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kathy Ashcraft and Shelly Wright, both of Quanah; two brothers, her twin, Joe Williams of Los Angeles, Calif., and Tom Williams of Portland, Ore.; a sister, Billie Thompson of Houston; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday. Faye Queen HEREFORD - Faye Queen, 96, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo with the Rev. Tammy Passmore officiating. Arrangements are by Rix Funeral Directors. Mrs. Queen was born in Joplin, Mo. She had lived in Canadian for five years before moving to the L S Ranch in 1938 where she lived for 10 years. She moved to her own ranch near Channing and lived there for 26 years. She married Henry Beal Queen in 1933 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1973. After the death of her husband, she moved to Earth, Texas, and lived for 26 years. She moved to Hereford three years ago. Survivors include 11 nieces and six nephews. The body will be available for viewing today and until noon on Saturday. Cecil James Bryan PAMPA - Cecil James "C.J." Bryan, 90, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hobart Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Fox, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church of Amarillo, and the Rev. Harold Hook, pastor of Hobart Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Bryan was born in Tyler and moved to Pampa in 1943 from Electra. He worked for Mobil Oil for 46 years, retiring in 1970. He was a member and a deacon of Hobart Baptist Church. He married Ethel Jones in 1926 at Wichita Falls. She died in 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Bobbye Petty of Pampa; two sons, Gary Bryan of Nocona and Dean Bryan of Sunray; two sisters, Georgia Faye Bingham of Haskell and Mary Lee Holt of Magalia, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Marion Dingman PERRYTON - Marion Dingman, 72, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Roger officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery. Mrs. Dingman was born in Orleans, N.Y., and moved to Perryton three years ago from Alexander Bay, N.Y. She was a laborer in a knitting mill. She married Roland Dingman in 1943 at Alexander Bay. She was preceded in death by a son, Clarence, and a daughter, Carol. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Dale Dingman of LaFargeville, N.Y., Ronald Dingman of Perryton and Randy Dingman of Forgan, Okla.; five daughters, Linda Hartman and Beverly Side, both of Redwood, N.Y., Bonnie Hartle and Sharon Cramer, both of Perryton, and Kay VanBrocklin of Alexander Bay; a brother, Vernon Hawn of LaFargeville; 29 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Lucile Ann Jarboe Johnson LOCKNEY - Lucile Ann Jarboe Johnson, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Russell Byard, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Lockney. Mrs. Johnson was born in Lexington, Okla. She moved to Floyd County in 1921 where she attended Lonestar Community Schools. A homemaker, she was a member of Senior Citizens of Lockney, Good Sams Travel Club and First United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She married Ike Johnson in 1932 at Fort Sumner, N.M. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Johnson, in 1948. Survivors include her husband; a son, Tom Johnson of Providence Community; two daughters, Betty Gilbert of Lubbock and Rita Pollard of Fraser, Mich.; a sister, Billie Rue Dorsett of Lamesa, TX; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He served in the Army during World War II. For 20 years, he was employed by Cabot Machinery Division. He then was owner and operator of One-Hour Martinizing from 1960 until 1988. Mr. Gates was a former member of Pampa Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Pampa Masonic Lodge No. 966 AF&AM, Lubbock Scottish Rite Consistory, Khiva Temple of Amarillo and Pampa Shrine Club. He also was a member of Downtown Kiwanis Club, a board member of Pampa Senior Citizens Center, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and a member of several antique car clubs. He married Alice Gooding in 1943 at Pampa. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carol Miller of Woodward, Okla.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Inez Bennett SPEARMAN - Inez Bennett, 98, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Joseph Weaks, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mrs. Bennett was born in Buffalo, Mo. She moved to Spearman 74 years ago from Miami and was a homemaker and farmer. She was a charter member of First Christian Church in Miami and Spearman. She married Clinton F. Bennett in 1919 at Lewisburg, Mo. He died in 1958. Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Reese of Spearman; a son, Kenneth Mahaffey of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and nine great-greatgrandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Hansford Hospice or First Christian Church Spearman Building Fund. Lula Viola Hall SHAMROCK - Lula Viola Hall, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church Chapel. Graveside services will be at 12:30 p.m. in Lakeview Cemetery with the Rev. Glen Switzer, interim pastor of the Eleventh Street Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mrs. Hall was born in Ector and moved to Memphis in 1919. In 1979, she moved to Shamrock where she was a member of Eleventh Street Baptist Church. She married D.C. Hall Jr., in 1932 at Lakeview. He died in 1976. Survivors include a son, Ronald Hall of Shamrock; a daughter, Wilma Newman of Irving; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Amarillo Roger Scott Sr. Roger Scott Sr., 84, of Pampa, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in St. John Baptist Church with the Rev. Grover Neal, pastor, and the Rev. I.L. Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Scott was born in Upshire County and graduated from Lake Providence Colored School. He attended Texas College in Tyler then later moved to Amarillo. In 1948, Mr. Scott became the first black police officer in Amarillo. The highlight of his 42-year career was being named Officer of the Year. He retired in 1980 from the Pampa Police Department with the rank of sergeant. Mr. Scott was active in the National Black Police Officer Association of Texas, the Elks, NAACP, Macedonia Baptist Church of Pampa and other community organizations. Survivors include a daughter, Willie E. Atkins of Amarillo; six sons, Sammy Scott, Roger Scott Jr., Bruce Scott and Calvin Ryan, all of Amarillo, Gene Scott of Denver and Alphonso Owens of Dallas; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will be at 607 Arnold Place. Steven Jiles Steven "Joe" Jiles, 76, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 1998. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. D.F. Roberts, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Warford-Walker Mortuary Inc., 509 N. Hughes St. Mr. Jiles was born in Dallas and moved to Amarillo in 1943. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a laborer and helped build Interstate 40 through Amarillo. He also had worked as a porter at the Herring Hotel in downtown Amarillo before retiring. He was a member of the BPOE, the Masonic Temple and the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Helen, who died in May. Survivors include a son, Gregory Jiles of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and two grandchildren. Jean Burge Jean Burge, 72, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4400 S. Crockett, with Coy Wylie, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Burge was born in Hollis, Okla. She earned degrees as a licensed vocational nurse and registered nurse from Amarillo College. In 1996, she retired after 35 years with Northwest Texas Pavilion Hospital, formerly Underwood's Mental Hospital. She was a member of the Texas Nurses Association and Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alford Burge in 1975, and Joe Burge in 1990. Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Frost and Debbie Pilcher, both of Amarillo; two grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Margaret Burkham Margaret Burkham, 73, of Amarillo, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Davey of Pleasant Valley Christian Church, officiating. If the weather is cold, services will be held in the cemetery's East Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Burkham was born in Moss Point, Miss., and moved to Amarillo in 1945 from Pascagoula, Miss. She was an apartment complex owner and homemaker. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Pleasant Valley. She married Roy Charlie Burkham in 1944 at Pascagoula. He died in 1979. Survivors include a son, Sandy Burkham of Amarillo; a daughter, Neva Mason of Los Angeles; a stepbrother, James Goff of Texas City; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Lanier Jr., 80, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home, Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. with Max Beggs, pastor, and Jimmy Beggs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Lanier was born in Bonham and was a longtime resident of Amarillo. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired as a clerk from the U.S. Postal Service. He attended Life of Praise and Caprock Christian Fellowship. He married Joyce Ogg in 1984 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lanier. Survivors include his wife; two stepsons, Vic Vaughn of Amarillo and Chuck Vaughn of Dumas; a daughter, Rita Glenn of Amarillo; two brothers, Wayne Lanier of Amarillo and Billy Lanier of Huxley; 29 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Dam Phitsnoukanh Dam Phitsnoukanh, 76, of 5811 N.E. 20th Ave., died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Cremation is by Memorial Park Crematory. Mrs. Phitsnoukanh was born in Laos. She moved to Amarillo in 1993. She was a homemaker and member of Amarillo Buddhist Temple. Survivors include nine children, Phounsavath Phitsnoukank of Utah, Thongkhounduang Darn of Germany, Phounsone Sixiengmai of Amarillo, Toune, Kileng and Teng, all of the United States, and Rath Phitsnoukannh, Phath Phitsnoukanh and Phounsay Phitsnoukanh, all of Laos. The family will be at 5811 N.E. 20th. Oklahoma Neletta Joy Crelly GUYMON, Okla. - Neletta Joy Crelly, 75, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in St. Peter's Catholic Church by the Rev. Scott Adams. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Crelly was born in Dacoma. She graduated from high school in Blackwell in 1942 and attended college at Alva and Panhandle State University. During World War II she worked for Boeing Aircraft. She moved to Guymon in 1967 from Towanda, Kan. In 1981, she retired from TG&Y. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and St. Monica Altar Society and Bible Study. She married George P. Crelly in 1944 at Wichita, Kan. He died in 1979. Survivors include eight sons, George Jr. of Decatur, Ala., Allen Michael of Fairview, Thomas of Eagle City, Timothy E. of Gruver, Texas, Richard Lee Crelly of Wichita and Stephen F., James Joseph and Mark E. Crelly, all of Guymon; two sisters, Gwendolyn Goff and Wanda Cleek, both of Guymon; 18 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren. DeOliveira CLOVIS, N.M. - Roxie C. Deoliveira, 88, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, at Las Cruces. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Mission Garden of Memories with the Rev. Charles Bader, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Clovis, officiating. Arrangements are by SteedTodd Funeral Home. Mrs. DeOliveira was born on a homestead near McIntosh, Torrence County, Territory of New Mexico. She attended the public schools in Clovis. After graduation from Clovis High School in 1931, she was employed as a dental assistant by Dr. I.D. Johnson. She worked with him for more than 30 years. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Clovis Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She married Earl B. DeOliveira in 1947 at Clovis. He died in 1973. Survivors include a sister, Iona Bell of Paducah, Ky. Wanda Bolton ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Wanda Bolton, 84, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999. Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel at Encino House, 412 Alvarado SE. Arrangements are by French Mortuary in Albuquerque. Mrs. Bolton was born in Mountain city, Tenn. She was a musician and a partner in her husband's ministry. They lived in Indiana, Illinois, Texas, New Mexico, California, Arizona and back to New Mexico. She married Royal Clovis Bolton in 1935 at Bruceville, Ind. He died in 1984. Survivors include two daughters, Judy Hill of Clovis and Barbara Burnett of Show Low, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Elsewhere Jerry Wayne Lehnick PFLUGERVILLE - Jerry Wayne Lehnick, 48, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home of Pflugerville. Mr. Lehnick was born in Canyon and attended West Texas State University. He was a member of Riverbend Baptist Church in Austin. Mr. Lehnick was a career firefighter, arson investigator and licensed law enforcement officer for Amarillo from 1982 until 1989 and for Canyon from 1974 until 1982. Prior to joining the staff at the city of Pflugerville in 1995, he worked with McComis and Company Inspections. Mr. Lehnick helped in developing the curriculum and instructing courses on arson investigation for Texas A&M University. He received many certificates of appreciation including from the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms' Arson Program and Randall County Sheriff's Department. Survivors include his wife, Sharlette Jacobs Lehnick; two sons, Michael of Temple and Dustin of Austin; his parents, Curtis and Shirley Lehnick of Canyon; a brother, Greg Lehnick of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
