Mr. Light was born in Turkey, Texas, and had lived in Amarillo for more than 50 years. During World War II, he was a shipbuilder with Brown and Root Co., at Houston. Mr. Light had taught welding at Texas State Technical Institute and had built custom horse and stock trailers for 50 years. He held a degree in sheet metal drafting. He served as executive director of the Tri-State High School Rodeo Association from 1975 until 1985. He was a member and deacon at Cliffside Baptist Church and was a former member of Odd Fellows Lodge 410 and the Range Riders Rodeo Association. Mr. Light had been a candidate in the Democratic primary for Potter County Commissioner Precinct 4 in 1977. He married Gertrude Martin in 1937 at Silverton. Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry Light of Amarillo; three daughters, Lillian Bates and Carrol Ferguson, both of Amarillo, and Glenda Brazile of Krum; a sister, Lola Tracy of Brighton, Colo.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Paul Gregory Sifuentez Paul Gregory Sifuentez, 19, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 6, 1999. Georgia St. Mr. Sifuentez was born in Amarillo, where he had lived all his life. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1998 and had just completed his first year at Amarillo College, where he was a music major. He had played in a band that had a song released on the Amarillo College CD last year. Survivors include his mother, Cathy Sifuentez of Amarillo; father and stepmother, Richard and Lori Sifuentez of Amarillo; a brother, Robert Sifuentez of Amarillo; a stepsister, Rachel Hill of Amarillo; grandparents, Felix Sifuentez and Stella and Robert Almeida, all of Amarillo; and great-grandmother, Susie Hilburn of Amarillo. Jeffrey Silva Jeffrey Silva, 19, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 6, 1999. Rosary will recited at 6 p.m. today in St. Laurence Cathedral. Dwight Lyman Moody Stubblefield Dwight Lyman Moody Stubblefield, 91, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 6, 1999. Mr. Stubblefield was born in Shamrock and had lived in Amarillo since 1941. He was the owner of Dwight Stubblefield's Dry Goods Store and served as fiance chairman for San Jacinto United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernedene Helen Stubblefield, in 1993, and by a daughter, Carol Lynn Sechrist. Survivors include a son, D. Lyman Stubblefield of Amarillo; two daughters, B. Lillie Etta Gibson Lillie Etta Gibson, 94, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 6, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in West Amarillo Christian Church with the Rev. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Gibson was born in Belleville, Ill., and moved to Rio Grande Valley in 1927. Later, in 1934, she and her husband moved to Castro County where they farmed. In 1948, they moved to Amarillo. Mrs. Gibson was a homemaker, a longtime member of West Amarillo Christian Church, the Women's Bible Sunday School Class and an active member of the Bivins Hulen Circle. She had been a member of Order of Eastern Star since 1930. She married Clifford Ray Gibson in 1924 at Nash, Okla. He died in 1977. Survivors include a son, John Joe Gibson of Amarillo; a daughter, Delores Marie Floyd of Euless; a brother, Vernon Sells of California; a sister, Ruby Shoemaker of Illinois; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-greatgrandchildren. She attended the Lighthouse Mission. She married Pete Costilla in 1972 at Clovis. He preceded her in death. Oklahoma Harold Eugene Durbin BALKO, Okla. - Harold Eugene Durbin, 80, died Saturday, June 5, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Balko Baptist Church with Joe Day officiating. Mr. Durbin was born in Beaver County. He worked as a pipeline foreman for the gas company. He was a longtime Baptist church member and a member of the Balko Happy Campers. He married Lucille Lorene Spaulding in 1942. She died in 1998. Private family burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Lindsay was born in Butler, Pa., and moved with her family to Fort Worth when she was a child. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She married Alva Lee Lindsay in 1938. They moved to Guymon in 1954. He died in 1992. Mrs. Wise was born in Anna, Texas and attended school at the Academy in Westminster, Texas. In 1985, she moved from Westminster to Guymon. She was a member of Church of Christ. Area Lois M. Strong PAMPA - Lois M. Strong, 79, died Sunday, April 4, 1999, at Fort Worth. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. She graduated from the University of Dubuque (Iowa) with a bachelor of arts degree in Christian Education. She taught school, later working for Iowa Southern Utilities as an executive secretary, retiring in 1982 after 20 years. She moved to Pampa in 1982 from Centerville, Iowa. She was a volunteer at the hospital and served as interim secretary at the First Presbyterian Church for a short period of time. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, P.E.O., the El Progresso Club, and the AAUW. She also was a teacher at the First Presbyterian Church Logos after school group. She married the Rev. Howard Strong in 1943 at Middle Creek, Ill. He died in 1966. Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Kirkpatrick of Hutchinson, Kan., and Margie Pontious of Pampa; a brother, George West of Ocala, Fla.; a sister, Margery Kuhns of Glenwood, Minn.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He moved to Dumas in 1969. He was involved in farming before going to work for the Helium Plant, where he worked from 1943 until 1969. Mr. Phillips received his 50-year pin in 1996 for membership in the Dumas Masonic Lodge. He also was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. His wife, Maud, died in 1977. Survivors include a son, Bob Phillips of Dumas; a daughter, Nelda Phillips of Los Lunas, N.M.; a brother, Earl Phillips of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. For several years, Mrs. French was manager of Little Scotty's Convenience Store then was employed by Oasis Truck Stop. She was active with Rachel's Little House Day Care and a member of Order of Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church. She married J.D. French in 1946 at Russellville, Ark. Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Gwen Massingill and Margaret Canant, both of Morrilton, Cindy Gray of Conway and Sue Edwards of Dumas; a son, Kenny French of Morrilton; two brothers, Dewey Bird of Stigler, Okla., and Huie Bird of Clarksville, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and a step-grandchild. She received her bachelor's degree in history from Wayland Baptist College and received her LVN at Hale Center. Mrs. Nance worked at Central Plains Regional Hospital and St. Mary of the Plains in the Critical Care Unit. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Tom Nance in 1952 at Muleshoe. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Nance, in 1977. She was a member of Kress Study Club. She married Raymond Lane in 1923 at Tulia. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988, a daughter, Carmelita Johnson in 1977, and a son, A.T. Lane in 1955. Glendora Adams Greene CLARENDON - Glendora Adams Greene, 82, died Sunday, June 6, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church in Clarendon with the Rev. Mrs. Greene was born in Leslie and was a resident of Clarendon most of her life before moving to Dallas almost four years ago. In 1983, she retired from the family business, Greene Dry Goods Co. She was a member of Pathfinder Club, the Les Beaux Art Club and the First Baptist Church. She married William Slaton "Bill" Greene in 1945 at Leslie. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985, and a son, Joel Greene, in 1988. Survivors include a daughter, Judy McMillen of Dallas; two sisters, Gladys Montgomery of Childress and Jimmie Montgomery of Memphis; and two grandchildren. Jack W. Young SHAMROCK - Jack W. After serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II, he returned to Shamrock in 1951. In 1974, he retired from Ashland Chemical. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Chillicothe. Survivors include his wife, Frances Young of Shamrock; two sons, Mark Wilson Young of Southlake and John William "Bill" Young of Fort Worth; a daughter, Jane Ann Casey of Rockwall; three sisters, Jean Humphries of Houston, Boyce Hancock of Lubbock and Ila Rue McClelland of San Antonio; and six grandchildren.
