Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dan Carter, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mrs. Burnett was born in Cochran County. She was a 4-H leader for youth in Cochran County. In 1945, she moved from Shallowater to Morton. In Morton, she was a member of the La Fleur Garden Club and United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a nursery attendant. For the past few years she lived in both Lubbock and Levelland. She married J.N. "Bud" Burnett in 1938 at Woodrow. He died in 1989. Her daughter, Paula Burnett, died in 1978. Survivors include a son, Sam Burnett of Morton; a daughter, Donna Sue Burleson of Clovis, N.M.; two sisters, Catherine Christiansen of Cleveland and Ruth Coats of Shallowater; a brother, Joe Knight of Farmington, N.M.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Price-Jackson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Reed-Farris, minister of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park. Mr. Bradley was born in Rosebud, Ark. He grew up in Vernon and owned and operated nursing homes in the area. He was a Baptist and moved to Quanah two years ago. He married Wanda Manuel in Ada, Okla. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Terry Bradley, Monty Joe Bradley and Bobby Bradley; a daughter, Janie Meade; three stepdaughters, Mary Milburn, Pam Dean and Debbie Duncan; two sisters, Sylvia and Estelle; grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Rix Funeral Directors Chapel with the Rev. J. Dean McNamara, chaplain of Vista Care Hospice, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Mrs. Riley was born and attended school in Melvin. In 1952, she moved to Hereford, where she worked as a cook for several restaurants until her retirement in 1969. She married Melvin Aaron Holmes in 1932 at McAdoo. He died in 1952. Survivors include seven sons, Marvin Holmes of Houston, Loyd Holmes of Denham Springs, La., James Holmes, Alvin Holmes and Robert Holmes, all of Hereford, Oscar Holmes of Amarillo and John Holmes of Irving; a daughter, Eula Severance of Gooding, Idaho; a sister, Ola Brown of Richardson; 30 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and 37 great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Rhea Cemetery in Rhea Community by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mrs. Carnero was born in Edcouch and was a volunteer at both Prairie Acres Nursing Home and Bovina Baptist Church. She was a housewife and a member of Bovina Baptist Church and Rhea Homemakers Club. Her granddaughter, Diana Castaneda, died in 1996. She married Roberto Carnero in 1978 at Memphis. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Janie Garcia of Lazbuddie, Carol Speed of Mission and Linda Martinez of Dimmitt; a sister, Maria Hernandez of Mercedes; and two brothers, Raymon Uribe and George Mejia, both of Elsa; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mr. Armstrong was born in Caney, Okla. He served with the Navy during World War II and retired in 1986 as a supervisor for Asarco. After retiring, he worked part-time at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital. He was a Baptist and a member of Shriners Scottish Rites. He married Lynnell Baker in 1950 at Clovis, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bobby Armstrong of Amarillo and Ricky Armstrong of Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Brenda Gorges of Wichita, Kan., and Glenda Powell of Fort Morgan, Colo.; four brothers, Alvin Armstrong of Yukon, Okla., Jimmy Armstrong of Oklahoma, Lester Armstrong of Lawton, Okla., and Harold Armstrong of Durant, Okla.; two sisters, Geneva Evans of Durant and Virginia Workman of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. She married Lloyd Fitch in 1956 at Yuma, Ariz. Osage St. Ms. Williams was born in Gorman. She moved to Amarillo 36 years ago and for 24 years was a security officer at Pantex. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, CASA, the International Guard Union of America and was a certified literacy teacher. In January, she moved to Willisville, Ark. Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Waltz of Amarillo and Michelle DeAnn Turner of Marion, Kan.; five sisters, Locleta Bailey of Willisville, Faye Lance of Tulsa, Okla., Nelda Harris of Duncan, Okla., Sue Daniels of Juno, Alaska and Beth Gunn of Inman, Kan.; five brothers, LeRoy Wilcox of Liberty, Neal Wilcox of Lubbock, Clide Wilcox of Willisville, Orion Wilcox of Boyd and Ike Wilcox of Denton; and five grandchildren. She moved to the Lubbock area when she was 12 and in 1929, graduated from Liberty High School. She retired from sales for Hemphill-Wells and was a member of the Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock. She moved to Amarillo in 1996. She married Algie Walter Brown in 1933 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1954. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Tow and Barbara Hilliard, both of Amarillo; two brothers, Weldon Lemon and Lynn Lemon, both of Lubbock; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Bright, 81, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Luke Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Pat Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Tulia by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Bright was born in Nashville, Tenn. After graduating from Amarillo High School in 1936, he worked for Halliburton in Flora, Ill., returned to Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo College in 1941. In 1943, he graduated from Texas Tech University and worked for Standard Oil and Gas in Pampa. He served with the Navy during World War II. In 1956, he started a business in the petroleum engineering field. He later farmed in Tulia. In Tulia, he was a church deacon and superintendent of Sunday school at First Presbyterian Church. In 1997, he moved to Amarillo and joined St. Luke Presbyterian Church. He married Eunice Parker in 1947 at Tulia. Survivors include his wife; a sister, Vaunceil Johnson of Sonoma, Calif.; and a brother, Kenneth L. Bright of Amarillo. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center in Amarillo; First Presbyterian Church in Tulia; or St. Luke Presbyterian Church in Amarillo. Burial will be in the family plot by Dunn Funeral Home. Mr. Fields was born in Weatherford, Texas and moved to Tucumcari in 1934. During World War II, he served with the Army. He retired as a construction engineer and was a member of First Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Jennie Lou Fields; a son, Jimmie Fields of Gloucester, Va.; a sister, Mary Lou Joiner of Hereford; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Bass was born in Nashville, Ark. She was a longtime resident of the Tucumcari area, where she owned and operated a farm. She married V.C. Bass in 1933 at Clovis. He died in 1970. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Ron Bass. Survivors include a son, Jim Bass of Kimball, S.D.; two grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Viewing will be until funeral time today at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Clark Funeral Service of Beaver. Mr. Cowan was born in Prower County, Colo. He was a farmer and worked for Beaver County, District No. 3. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He married Elsie Marie Crumpton in 1946 at Liberal, Kan. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Alvin Cowan Jr., and Bruce Cowan, both of Perryton, Texas Loyd Ray Cowan of Beaver, Okla., and Leland Cowan and Tommy Cowan, both of Balko; five daughters, Linda O'Dell of Eureka, Nev., Martha Dunn of Elkhart, Kan., Lola Douglas of Balko, Judy Bennett of Rockwall, Texas and Janet Gift of Port Lavaca, Texas; two brothers, Everett Cowan of Balko and Beryl Cowan of Bolivar, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
