Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Pampa with the Rev. Jake Clements officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors of Canadian. Mr. Hathoot was born and raised in Enid, Okla., where he graduated from high school. In 1957, he received his degree in animal husbandry from Oklahoma State University. He was in the cattle business for 40 years. In the early 1960s, Mr. Hathoot purchased the feed yard in Morton. He moved to Canadian in 1982 where he managed the Canadian Feed Yard. He coowned the livestock auction in Hope, Ark., the McLean Feedyard in McLean and the B&H Cattle Company in Canadian. Mr. Hathoot was a member of the vestry at St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Pampa. He was a member and president in 1991 of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association. He married Janie Matthews in 1983. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ginny Bailey of Midland and Merilee Dougherty of Grapevine; a son, Joe Edward Hathoot of Texarkana; two stepsons, Patrick Matthews of Little Rock, Ark., and Michael Matthews of Texarkana; a brother, Dale Hathoot of Mission; three grandsons; and two stepgranddaughters. A homemaker for most of her life, she was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Jimmie Allred in 1937 at Claude. He preceded her in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel in Happy with grandsons Cee Arnett and Lyn Holland and Layne Holland, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery. Mr. Holland was born and raised in Happy where he graduated from high school in 1936. A World War II veteran, he served in the Army Air Corps as a staff sergeant. From 1941 until 1945, he served in Duxford, England, with the 84th Squadron, 78th Fighter Group. In 1946, Mr. Holland moved to Clapham community in New Mexico near Clayton where he lived until recently moving to Happy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Happy. He married Naomi Sunkel in 1945 at Clovis, N.M. She died in March. Survivors include two daughters, Kay Arnett and Betty Dellinger, both of Clayton; a son, H.L. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Faith Lutheran Church with the Rev. Beverly Cook officiating. Burial will be at Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mrs. Tackitt was born in Ellis County, Okla. She moved to the Spearman area 71 years ago from Follett. In 1969, she retired as a restaurant operator. She took in ironing for the public for more than 50 years. Mrs. Tackitt was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Circle and Golden Spread Senior Citizen's Center. She was a former Girl Scout leader and was among the original volunteers who founded the Hansford County Library Thrift Shop. She married Wade Tackitt in 1928 at Follett. He died in 1976. Survivors include two daughters, Anita Pulcini of Redding, Calif., and Arbeta Nobles of Spearman; two sisters, Elma Ward of Spearman and Johanna Steffey of Apple Valley, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Edwards was born in Miller County, Mo., and moved with her family to Wheeler in 1914. Except for a few years in Maryland, she was a longtime resident of Wheeler. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ. She married Gwyn Edwards in 1921 at Zybach. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982 and by two sons, Arthur in 1957 and Ray in 1937. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Elisa Zamoro in 1994 and a son, Guillermo Martinez in 1986. Mrs. Mason was born south of Guymon and graduated from Guymon High School in 1939. She was a licensed cosmetologist who owned and operated Ruby's Beauty Shop, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Grace Southern Baptist Church and was active with the hospital auxiliary, Meals on Wheels and Loaves and Fishes. She married Russell Mason in 1941 at Hooker. He died in 1983. Survivors include three daughters, Lavonne High of Walters, and Christine Boring and Janet Potts, both of Guymon; two sons, Romie Mason of Pratt, Kan., and Gary Mason of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Maxine Hansen and Jewel Darnell, both of Guymon; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Colwell was born in Kansas. She was a retired postmaster and a homemaker who spent her married life on a farm southwest of Elmwood. She was a 50year member of Balko Baptist Church, the TEL Mary Martha's Sunday School Class and a member of the Panhandle Writers Club. She married Justin F. Colwell in 1948 at Perryton, Texas. He died in 1990. She is survived by her cousins, Mabel Halsey of Perryton, Geraldine Tidwell of Fort Worth, Kenneth Jackson of Carbon, Texas, Agnes Carpenter of Girard, Kan., and Burnetha Jackson of Balko. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Molly Jo Gardner of the home; a son, Colby Gardner of the home; her parents, Jake and Jo Mae Merrell of Quitaque; and two brothers, Warren Lee Merrell of Quitaque and Dr. Jerry Merrell of Midland.
