Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Dalhart Church of Christ. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Dalhart by Hass Funeral Home. Mrs. Sweet was born in Texola, Okla., and raised in Texola and Erick, Okla. She worked for Douglas Aircraft on the assembly line during World War II. After the war, she moved to Dalhart and worked for General Telephone as an operator from 1951 until 1972. She was a member of Dalhart Church of Christ. She married A.O. Sweet in 1947 at Clayton, N.M. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons, Keith Sweet of Mesa, Ariz., and Kent Sweet of Amarillo; two daughters, Mary Zan Warren and Candy Wilbur, both of Amarillo; a brother, Richard "Dub" Rice of Lubbock; a sister, Ruby Zan Wright of Dalhart; eight grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren. Lee Roy Goodwin PAMPA - Lee Roy Goodwin, 80, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Allen, retired minister of Briarwood Full Gospel Church, officiating. Arrangements are by CarmichaelWhatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Goodwin was born in Newalla, Okla., and moved to Pampa in 1956 from Purcell, Okla. He was an Army sergeant, serving during World War II. He worked for White's Auto Store for six years as a delivery man and then worked for the Celanese Corp. as a steel worker for 10 years. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post at Pampa, the Auctioneers Association and the Church of God. He was a horse trainer and racehorse owner. He married Quanah June Upton in 1961 at Pampa. She died in 1990. Survivors include three daughters, Carol Darlene Goodwin of Colorado, Debra Owens of Pampa and Sharon Fick of Borger; two sons, Vernon Lee Goodwin of Oklahoma City and Calvin J. Cockrell of Fort Worth; a brother, Glen Goodwin of Oklahoma City; and a sister, Roberta Goodwin of Oklahoma City. Burial will be in Rest Lawn Memorial Park by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home of Hereford. Mr. Vogler was born in Winters and moved to Deaf Smith County in 1947 from Lamesa. He was a farmer and member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He married Anna Marie Drager in 1936 at Rhea. She died in 1988. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ann Fisher of Hereford; three sons, Walter Vogler, Leon Vogler and Harry Vogler, all of Hereford; three brothers, Freddie Vogler, Henry Vogler and Rinehard Vogler, all of Lamesa; three sisters, Ella Caudle of Hereford, Ann Standefer of Lamesa and Laverne Burger of Midland; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Glen Gregory PLAINVIEW - Glen Gregory, 38, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Apostolic Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Scott Carley of Lubbock, the Rev. Greg Bradley of Monett, Mo., and the Rev. Steve Franks of Portales, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Gregory was born in Odessa and grew up in Midland where he graduated from Midland Lee High School in 1978. In 1991, he moved to Lamesa where he started the first pastorite. In 1993, he moved to Oklahoma City and then moved to Plainview in 1997 where he was pastor of Apostolic Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church. Mr. Gregory was an Eagle Scout. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America in many leadership positions and as Cub Master. He married Mickie Willingham in 1978 at Midland. Survivors include his wife; an adopted daughter, Amy Villegas of Plainview; three sons, Christopher Devin Gregory, Jamason Glen Gregory and Nathen Garrett Gregory, all of the home; his parents, Luke Armstrong of Midland and Leta Armstrong of Plainview; and a sister, Lisa Greenhaw of Plainview. The family suggests memorials be to Boy Scouts of America. H.L. McGaugh PLAINVIEW - H.L. "Shorty" McGaugh, 76, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Lemons Memorial Chapel with Elder Kevin Igo of 9th and Columbia Street Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens by Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. McGaugh was born in Plainview, farmed in the area and in 1970 moved back to Plainview where he worked as a carpenter. He married Betty Jean Lyde in 1945. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rhonda Harrison of West Columbia; two sons, Rickey McGaugh of Lubbock and Reggy McGaugh of Montgomery; three brothers, Melvin McGaugh of Ralls, J.R. McGaugh and J.D. McGaugh, both of Waldron, Ark.; two sisters, Ruth Callahan of Austin and Louise Poppell of Augusta, Ga.; and three grandchildren. Altus Michie CHILDRESS - Altus Michie, 94, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Central Christian Church with the Rev. John Givens, pastor, officiating. Private burial for family only will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Michie was born in Alvord and was a longtime Childress resident. A longtime member of Central Christian Church, she was a member of the Childress Country Club. She married J.D. Michie in 1921 at Hollis, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985 and by a daughter, Jo Harp, in 1994. Survivors include a daughter, Jerry Decker of Childress; a son, Jarvis Michie of San Antonio; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Steve A. Morgan PLAINVIEW - Steve A. Morgan, 81, of Kress, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in College Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Robertson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Kress Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Morgan was born in Quitaque and moved to Oklahoma and Arkansas at an early age. When he was 5, his family returned to Briscoe County where he lived in Silverton until his marriage. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Morgan retired as a farmer in the 1970s. He was a Nazarene. He married Atha Venta Formway in 1942. She died in 1986. Survivors include a sister, Rosalie Chitty of Silverton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Johnny Salazar TULIA - Johnny Salazar, 24, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Spanish Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Al Rocha of Odessa officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Salazar was born and raised in Tulia where he attended schools. In 1982, he moved to Amarillo and then to San Antonio. He returned to Amarillo in 1983. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include his mother, Rosa Salazar of Amarillo; his father and stepmother, Johnny Salazar and JoAnn Benavidez, both of Amarillo; a sister, Ida Janette Salazar of Amarillo; three brothers, Anthony Scott Salazar, Tito Lee Salazar and Isaiah Salazar, all of Amarillo; and his grandparents, Martha and Rafael Salazar of Tulia. Isabel Gonzales HEREFORD - Isabel Gonzales, 73, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in Rose Chapel of Gililland- Watson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Monsignor Orville Blum officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Gonzales was born in Ballinger. An Army veteran of World War II, he received the campaign ribbon, three Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, the Purple Heart, Victory ribbon and two overseas service bars. In 1950, Mr. Gonzales moved to Deaf Smith County from Ballinger. He worked as a security guard for Holly Sugar and Frito Lay. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He married Elida Gonzales in 1946 at Ballinger. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Melinda E. Guerrero of Belen, N.M.; a son, Nathan Thomas Perez of Amarillo; two brothers, Rafael Gonzales of San Angelo and Gabino Gonzales of Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister, Andrea Pena of Ballinger; and four grandchildren. The family will be at 414 Long St. L.T. Nivens FRITCH - L.T. Nivens, 77, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. Leonard Forsythe, pastor of Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Mr. Nivens was a native of Parnell and a lifetime resident of the area. A veteran of World War II, he served for 23 years in the Army. He retired as heavy equipment operator for the water authority. He was a Baptist. He married Geraldine Yeager in 1948 at Memphis. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Larry Joe, Billy Ray, Darryl Wayne and Gary Lee Nivens, all of Sanford, and Terry Lynn Nivens of Houston; a daughter, Janice Kay Nelson of Dayton; a brother, Joe Bart Nivens of Stinnett; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a greatgreat-grandchild. Mrs. Buell was born in Valentine, Neb., and lived in Kansas, Missouri and South Dakota prior to moving to Paducah 10 years ago. She was a retired cafe and hotel worker and a homemaker. She was a member of the Episcopal church. She married John Buell in 1957 at White River, S.D. She worked at Johnson Grocery and the Rexall Drug. She moved to Garland in 1986. She married Charlie Dyes "Mike" Reagan in 1936 at Canadian. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982 and by a son, William Earnest "Billie" Reagan, in 1939. Amarillo Raven Tess Elizabeth Kipker Raven Tess Elizabeth Kipker, 5, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999. Franklin Walter Baer Franklin Walter Baer, 81, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999. Cremation arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Baer was born in Toledo, Ohio. He graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in chemical engineering. He was a member of Unitarian Fellowship, the American Chemical Society and the American Civil Liberty Union. He also had been a member of the Friends of the Amarillo Library Support Organization for 19 years. He married Theta Joanne Matlock in 1979 in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dinah Baer of Bentonville, Ark.; a son, Timothy Baer of Amarillo; a stepson, Tim O'Toole of New Berlin, Wis.; a stepdaughter, Michele Wright of Amarillo; a sister, Betty Cotta of Los Alamitos, Calif.; three grandchildren; and a greatgrandchild. Dillinger, 84, of Shamrock, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Norris of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. A former Amarillo resident, Mr. Dillinger was retired from the landscaping industry. There are no known relatives. Rheba Bolton Rheba Bolton, 88, of Amarillo, died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in BlackburnShaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce St., with Glen Walton officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Bolton lived in Quitaque where she and her husband farmed and ranched until 1960. She moved to Amarillo where she was owner, operator, cook and car hop of the Pennant Drive-Inn No. 2 on Amarillo Blvd., until 1983. She sold the business and retired in 1984. Since 1925, she was a member of the Church of Christ. She married Park C. Bolton in 1931 at Quitaque. He died in 1976. She is survived by a niece, Cindy Johnson of Colorado Springs, Colo. Charlene Furlow Charlene Furlow, 87, of Amarillo, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Travis Starnes of Pentecostals of Amarillo and Laurence Blackstock of Brownwood officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Furlow was born and raised in Leesville, La. After graduating from college, she taught school in Leesville. In 1944, she moved to Amarillo where she was a substitute teacher. She was a member of the Pentecostals of Amarillo. She married Vernon Furlow Sr., in 1941 at Lake Charles, La. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Rachelle Redd of Amarillo; a son, Vernon Furlow Jr., of Houston; and three grandchildren. New Mexico Margery Olga Tillman CLOVIS, N.M. - Margery Olga Tillman, 77, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Grady Baptist Church at Grady with the Rev. Paul Burwash officiating. Burial will be in the Grady Cemetery by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Tillman was born in San Jon. She married E.J. Tillman in 1937 at San Jon. They were longtime residents of Grady. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include five children, Christine Jones of Clovis, Teresa Evens of Charlotte, Texas, John Tillman of St. Johns, Ariz., Larry Tillman of Ruidoso and Marshall Tillman of Beaver, Okla.; two sisters; a brother; 20 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson was born in Lubbock, Texas, and moved to Clovis in 1988. She was an electrician laborer for the city of Clovis and was of the Pentecostal faith. She married Billy Wilson at Lubbock. Mrs. Ulibarri was born in Chaperito, N.M., and moved to Clovis in 1940. She was a homemaker and member of our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Community. She married Modesto Ulibarri in 1926 at Tucumcari. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1941, by a son, Lee Ulibarri, in 1971, and by an infant daughter, Erlinda Ulibarri. She is survived by a son, Johnny Ulibarri of Clovis; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Erline F. McKelvey GUYMON, Okla. - Erline F. McKelvey, 78, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Elmhurst Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Adams of St. Peter's Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements are by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mrs. McKelvey was born in Guymon where she graduated from Guymon High School in 1939. She was a homemaker and a Catholic church member. She had been a fashion buyer for 15 years for Rothchilds Clothing at Oklahoma City. She moved to Guymon from Brighton, Colo., in 1995. She married James Patrick Ward in 1942, Donald Bryson McKelvey in 1986 and Carl Fritz Erlich in 1995. They all preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Tony Ward of Oklahoma; a sister, Cleone Fields of Guymon; three grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Ola Mae Neel Williams ELK CITY, Okla. - Ola Mae Neel Williams, 82, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel at Muleshoe, Texas, with the Rev. Glen Williams officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery at Muleshoe by Whinery-Savage Funeral Service. Mrs. Williams was born in Tahlequah and moved with her parents to Bula, Texas, and graduated from Littlefield High School. She married Scott D. Williams in 1939 at Clovis. He died in 1970. She moved to Stegall where they farmed. During World War II, they moved to California to work in the defense plants. She worked for Hughes Aircraft Plant until her husband entered the military. She moved to Muleshoe and worked for Ladd Lumber Co. She was a homemaker. She moved to Petersburg and worked in the school lunch room as a cook. She moved to Seagraves where he managed a lumber yard. She moved to Clinton and worked as a nurse's aide at the Methodist Nursing Center. In 1995, she moved to Elk City. She was a member of Clinton First United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Sibyl Hillock of Elk City and LaNell Frisse of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; a sister, Lola Latimer of Midwest; a brother, Otis Neel of Friona, Texas; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Laura Smith Parshall BOISE CITY, Okla. - Laura Smith Parshall, 60, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cimarron Mortuary with Keith Peachy, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Boise City Cemetery. Mrs. Parshall was born in the Sandyview community and attended Boise City High School. She was a past member of the Baptist church and worked in various clerical positions. She first married Lewis Huston. Later, she married Lloyd Parshall. Survivors include three daughters, Debbie, Joann and Lori; and several grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity and may be left in care of the funeral home. Elsewhere Rayford Fowler BROWNFIELD - Rayford Fowler, 86, died Dec. 29, 1998. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church of Brownfield with the Rev. Beverly Titus, minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon and Happy. Services were Dec. 31 in Mount Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. Beverly Titus officiating. Burial followed in Mount Zion Cemetery in Winnfield, La. Mr. Fowler was born in Wheeling, La., and graduated from Atlanta High School. After graduation, he farmed and worked with the reforestation program of Brown Paper Co., and with Carey Salt Co., in Winnfield. In 1943, he worked with Columbian Carbon Co., in Fairbanks, Texas, and later in Conroe. In 1945, he transferred to Seagraves where he retired in 1977 as superintendent. Mr. Fowler was a member of First United Methodist Church in Brownfield, Masonic Lodge of Seagraves, South Plains Iris Society where he served as president for two years, Antique Clock Collectors of Lubbock, Red Raider Club and was a charter member of Scottish Rite in Lubbock and Texas Tech Dads Club. He was a member of Panhandle-Plains Historical Society and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. For 12 years, Mr. Fowler served on the Seagraves Independent School District board including three years as president. He served the church in Seagraves as chairman of the board of stewards and administrative board. He married Bertie Mae McLaren in 1934. Survivors include his wife; four children, Annette Nall of Canyon, Sammie Saulsbury of Monroe, La., Sarah Bettinger of Lakewood, Colo., and John Fowler of Aiken, S.C.; and five grandchildren. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials be to Rayford Fowler Memorial Scholarship at the Opportunity Plan, Inc., Box 1035, Canyon, TX 79015; or to a favorite charity.
