He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a cab driver, worked for Harrison Oil Co., and managed a Fina service station for many years. Survivors include his wife, Effie; two sons, Robert Crow and Floyd Crow, both of Pampa; a daughter, Loretta Medley of Pampa; a brother, Noah Crow of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister, Loretta Hudson of California; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Fay Deen Yarbro Krejci BORGER - Fay Deen Yarbro Krejci, 88, died Saturday, March 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains with the Rev. David Purl, pastor of St. Andrew United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Krejci was born in Graford and had been a Borger resident for 55 years. She received a bachelor of art degree from Texas Woman's University and attended the University of Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Paragon Club, United Daughters of the Confederacy and Borger Music Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe C. Krejci, in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Fay Deen Doyen of Los Angeles and Mary Joe Mahan of Houston; two sisters, Dorothy Luke of Arlington and Kathereen McFarland of Houston; and three grandchildren. Juanita Eddy DUMAS - Juanita Eddy, 87, died Monday, March 8, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Church of the Nazarene with her nephew, Gary Sheets of Borger, and the Rev. Frank Elliott, retired Nazarene minister of Dumas, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Eddy was born in Barnsdall, Okla., and had lived in Dumas since 1946. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of the Nazarene. She married Gerald Eddy in 1932 at Barnsdall. He died in 1991. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Ellen Eddy, in 1935. Survivors include a son, Dwayne Eddy of Dumas; two daughters, Carolyn Savely of Dumas and Elaine Cruz of Bakersfield, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She and her husband farmed in the Hall and Childress counties area for many years. She married Woodrow Wilson Phillips in 1942 at Childress. He died in May. Mr. Love was born in Lockney and was a Navy veteran of World War II. After 48 years of service, he retired as a sheetmetal worker from Burlington Northern Railroad. He was a member of Burlington Club and Parkview Baptist Church of Childress. He married Betty Royall in 1946 at Childress. He was preceded in death by a daughter and a son. After her marriage, she lived in Pecan Grove community of Coryell County and then moved to Plainview in 1955. She had been employed as a nurse by Plainview Hospital and Clinic and was a member of First Baptist Church. Her first marriage was to M.D. Martin who died in 1956. She then married W.F. Clark in 1964. He died in 1991. Survivors include a son, Jerald Martin of Plainview; a sister, Mary Gracey of Roscoe; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Charline Wesson Yeager PAMPA - Charline Wesson Yeager, 95, of Odessa, died Sunday, March 7, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa with the Rev. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors, Inc., of Clarendon. Mr. Shelton was born in Cleburne and lived in Corsicana before moving to Spearman five years ago. He was an Army veteran of World War II. After 50 years as a truck driver, he retired from ICX Truck Lines. He married Olena Hickerson in 1971 at Guymon, Okla. She died in 1993. Albert Moore CLARENDON - Albert Moore, 89, of Lubbock, died Monday, March 8, 1999. Mr. Moore was born in Tupelo, Okla., and was a resident of Howardwick for 11 years and then of Amarillo for four years before moving to Lubbock in 1994. Prior to his retirement, he was a farmer. He married Trula Faye Estes in 1934 at Springer, Okla. She died in September. Survivors include a daughter, Sue Moore Cooper of Lubbock; two sons, J.A. "Sonny" Moore of Canadian and Larry G. Moore of Loveland, Colo.; a brother, J.D. Moore of Jasper; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Royce Ben Vaughn PLAINVIEW - Royce Ben Vaughn, 74, died Sunday, March 7, 1999. Mr. Vaughn was born in Wade, Okla., and moved to Plainview at an early age. He graduated from Plainview High School. A farmer, he moved to Arlington in 1970 and returned to Plainview in 1978. She received her bachelor of science degree from West Texas A&M University and her master of science degree from the University of New Mexico. Miss Carter served in the Navy as a journalist in Korea. Bertie Charles Dapron Jr. Bertie Charles Dapron Jr., 71, of Amarillo, died Saturday, March 6, 1999. Services are will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rich Funeral Home of Springfield, Colo. Burial will be in Walsh Cemetery in Walsh, Colo. Local arrangements were by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Dapron was born and raised in Walsh, Colo. He attended Walsh schools and Brown Military Academy. A veteran of the Army, he served in Japan. In Walsh, he operated the family cafe business and was a member of the Methodist Church. Mr. Dapron served as undersheriff and sheriff of Baca County, Colo. He was instrumental in building the new jail complex and helped form the sheriff's posse. Later, he was a Star Route mail carrier. He first married Maxine Eslick. Later, he married Alene Means who preceded him in death as did two stepdaughters, Sherry Strouse and Candi Johnson. He moved to Amarillo where he married Juanita Tortella. Survivors include his wife; two children, Max Dapron of Colorado Springs and Brenda Homsher of Colorado; four stepchildren, Tim, Debbie and Shawn Tortella and Ty; and three grandsons. Mrs. Romero was born in Albuquerque, N.M., and had lived in Amarillo for 33 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mrs. Romero was a sales manager and representative for Tejano FM radio station. She was active in the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Cinco de Mayo festivals and helped the nuns set up orphanages in Mexico. Survivors include her daughter, April Romero or Amarillo; her parents, Tony and Cleo Jaramillo of Amarillo; and six brothers and sisters, Barbara Stone, Linda Jaramillo, Diana Martinez, Kenneth Jaramillo and Karen Reyes, all of Amarillo, and Antonia Romero of Albuquerque. Armando Campos Armando Campos, 44, of Amarillo, died Sunday, March 7, 1999. Mr. Campos was born in Beeville and had lived in Amarillo for 25 years. He graduated from Lawton, Okla., High School in 1973. For 18 years, he was employed by Panhandle Rubber and Tire Co. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He married Josephine Frausto in 1981. He was preceded in death by his 3-year-old son, Jeremy Daniel Campos, in December. "Homer" Salley, 87, died Saturday, March 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in St. John's United Methodist Church of Lubbock with the Rev. Bruce Parks, a retired Methodist minister, and the Rev. Earl Blair, Lubbock District Superintendent of the United Methodist Church, the Rev. Bobby McMillan, pastor, and R.K. Curtis officiating. Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park by Franklin-Bartley Funeral Home of Lubbock. Rev. Salley was born in Monroe, La. He was a graduate of McMurry College and attended Perkins Theological Seminary. He was a Methodist minister and retired from the active ministry in 1978 after 44 years. He was a former pastor of Lubbock's Pioneer Memorial United Methodist Church and the Shallowater United Methodist Church. He also pastored and built churches in Becton, the Clarendon Circuit, Loraine, Rule, Coahoma, Sunray, Earth, Seagraves, Sweetwater, Midland, Roby, Plainview, Happy, Abilene, Baird and Mobeetie. He had served as interim pastor for several churches after retirement. Rev. Salley was a representative on the committee that oversaw the acquisition of Lubbock Memorial Hospital by the Northwest Texas Conference of the Methodist Church, resulting in the establishment of Lubbock Methodist Hospital. He was a member of the Northwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church. He married Gladys Padgett in 1934 in Mitchell County. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellie Lee Salley, in 1951. Survivors include his wife; three sons, the Rev. Henry L. Salley of Plainview, Sam Salley of Lubbock and Melvin Salley of Levelland; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Col. John Rogers Jr. SAN ANTONIO - Col. John "Jack" Rogers Jr., 77, died Sunday, March 7, 1999. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Fort Sam Houston Cemetery with full military honors. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Episcopal Church of the Resurrection with the Rev. J. Paul Worley officiating. Arrangements are by Porter Loring Mortuary North of San Antonio. Col. Rogers was born in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. He then joined the Texas National Guard, which was deployed to protect the Dutch East Indies in 1941. With his unit, he was a Japanese prisoner of war from 1941 until their liberation in 1945. In 1949, Col. Rogers graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in microbiology. He then received a commission as a lieutenant in the medical corps of the Army and was stationed in Fort Riley, Kan., Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico, and West Point. In 1965, he participated in joint military research at Fort Knox to help develop new ways to package blood products to support personnel during combat operations. In 1966, he was assigned to Fort Sam Houston where he served as chief, laboratory science division, Academy of Health Sciences until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. He married Barbara Jeanne Ashby of Richardson in 1949. She preceded him in death. Survivors include a daughter, Cindi Deviney; a son, John E. Rogers III; a sister, Linda Rogers of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. William Irby Carlisle ANTON - William Irby Carlisle, 80, died Saturday, March 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rochester Church of Christ. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery by Smith Funeral Home of Knox City. Mr. Carlisle lived most of his life in Haskell County and on the Plains. He was a farmer and retired from Clark Equipment of Lubbock. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Johnnie; two daughters, Linda Reed of Anton and Andra Gradner of Clovis, N.M.; a son, Joe Carlisle of Anton; a brother, Tom Carlisle of Tulia; a sister, Bernandine Bolin of Veiner, La.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Vincent James Poci DALLAS - Vincent James Poci, 70, died Sunday, March 7, 1999. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home of Dallas. Mr. Poci was born in Rockford, Ill. An Army veteran, he served in the Third Armored Division in Germany. He retired from Illinois Central Railroad and worked for Susan Crane for more than 20 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita A. Baker Poci. Mr. Aufill was born in Hedley and moved to Lubbock as a child. He graduated from Lubbock High School in 1952 and attended Texas Tech University, West Texas State University and Sul Ross University. In 1963, he and his father opened Aufill's Sports Arena. Mr. Aufill also operated Arena Park Raceway, Lubbock Drag Way and the Lubbock Horse Auction. He served on the board of the Texas Tech Rodeo Association and the Cowboy Symposium. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the High Plains Junior Rodeo Association, American Quarter Horse Association and the Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. He headed numerous volunteer charity auctions. He married Twila Ellison Folsom in 1982 at Tahoka. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ben Aufill, Lance Folsom and Jett Folsom, all of Lubbock; two daughters, Jennifer Fontenot of Buffalo Gap and Camille Aufill of Fort Worth; his mother, Mildred Aufill of Lubbock; a sister, Janie Jones of Lubbock; and five grandchildren. New Mexico Joe Reid RANCHVALE, N.M. - Joe Reid, 81, died Saturday, March 6, 1999. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Kingswood Methodist Church with Dr. Mark Scott officiating. Eulogy will be by Melvin Jester. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis. Mr. Reid was born in the Ranchvale community of Curry County. He graduated from Ranchvale High School in 1936. He farmed in the Ranchvale community. He had been a member of the Methodist church that merged with Kingswood Methodist in 1957. He served on the Ranchvale school board from 1954 to 1957. In 1941, he married Louise Love. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sylvia Davis and Sonya Chavez; a brother, John Reid; four sisters, Autrey Stockard, Aubery Notman, Lola Starbuck and Viola Jester; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The casket will be closed at services. Teresa Marie Hernandez CLOVIS, N.M. - Teresa Marie Hernandez, 61, died Sunday, March 7, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in The Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in The Chapel with Daniel Chavez, deacon, officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home of Clovis. Mrs. Hernandez was born in Mosquero. A lifetime resident of Clovis, she was a homemaker. She married Manuel Hernandez in 1979 at Clovis. Survivors include her husband; a son, Juan Gallegos of Dumas; three daughters, Judy Gonzales and Julia Roman, both of Clovis, and Debra Salazar of Spring Dale, Ark.; two brothers, Tony Sanchez of Albuquerque and Leroy Sanchez of San Pedro, Calif.; three sisters, Cinda Baca, Flora Trujillo and Sophia Delgado, all of Clovis; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Ray Brumfield PORTALES, N.M. - Ray Brumfield, 58, died Sunday, March 7, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Dora Church of Christ with Tim Brumfield, Bennie Brumfield and Delbert Bradley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales. Mr. Brumfield was born and raised in Dora where he attended schools and was active in basketball and baseball. After high school, he worked for Graham Plow in Amarillo and later moved to Dumas, Texas, where he was employed by Diamond Shamrock in Sunray. Mr. Brumfield moved to Portales in 1980. He was a member of Dora Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Krista Jones of Portales and Brenda Young of Amarillo; three brothers, John Brumfield of Dora and George Brumfield and Jim Brumfield, both of Portales; three sisters, Edith Crater of Las Cruces, Ruth Drum of Valley D'Ore, Texas, and Addie Fulfer of Kennewick, Wash.; and four grandchildren. Genevieve A. Notah PORTALES, N.M. - Genevieve A. Notah, 42, died Sunday, March 7, 1999. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Wheeler Mortuary Chapel in Portales. Ms. Notah was born in Arizona. She was active in girls slow pitch softball and 4-H Little Wrangler Rodeo. For several years, she worked as a pharmacy tech at Portales Drug. For eight years, she was an admitting clerk and pharmacy tech at Plains Regional Medical Center in Portales and then was an admitting clerk at the hospital in Clovis. Survivors include two sons, Joshua Notah and Stuart Notah, both of the home; two daughters, Davina Notah and Jordan Notah, both of the home; her parents, Alice and Leo Notah of Portales; and a brother, Leon Notah of Bloomfield. The family will receive friends at the Memorial Building immediately following the memorial service. Oklahoma Mae Ruth DeWolfe Frantz GUYMON, Okla. - Mae Ruth DeWolfe Frantz, 76, a former longtime Guymon resident, died Sunday, March 7, 1999, at Tulsa. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sunset Lane Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Riddles officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery by BunchRoberts Funeral Home. Mrs. Frantz was born in Dill and had lived in Tulsa for the past two years. She graduated in 1942 from Hooker High School at Hooker. She retired after 35 years as a lab and X-ray technician and medical assistant for Dr. William Oxley. She was a member of Sunset Lane Baptist Church. She married Donald C. DeWolfe in 1941. She later married Leland Frantz, who preceded her in death in 1984. Survivors include two sons, Donald Kent DeWolfe of Broken Arrow and Phillip Proctor DeWolfe of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Candace Wynelle Loban of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Wynelle Mertens of Fort Smith, Ark.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
