Eads Sr. E.H. Eads Sr., 92, of Amarillo, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with Dr. John Bridwell, minister emeritus of First Christian Church, officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum. Mr. Eads was born in Tuttle, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1943. He was a hide and wool buyer. He was a former Mason and a member of First Christian Church and the Loyalty Sunday School Class. In 1994, he married Audrey Morris at Amarillo. He married his first wife in 1928 at Wellington. She died in 1992. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Lou Chambers, in 1972 and by a son, E.H. Eads Jr., in 1975. Survivors include his wife; a brother, Alph Eads of Wheeler; three grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Fifth Ave., with Sergeant Gary Steward of Austin, Captain Richard Branscum of Borger and Captain Tom Rainwater of Amarillo, all of the Salvation Army, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Chasteen was born in Fort Worth and lived in Amarillo until moving to White Settlement in 1992. She was a homemaker and member of the Salvation Army in Amarillo and Borger. She was a member of the Salvation Army Home League Ladies and Senior Citizens of White Settlement. She married Raymond Chasteen in 1938 at Amarillo. He died in 1967. Survivors include three daughters, Rachel Trammel and Leila Hughes, both of Borger, and Kathy France of White Settlement; a son, Sidney Chasteen of Borger; seven grandchildren; and 15 greatgrandchildren. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ. She married Mike Sailors in 1933 at Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983 and by a son, Dewey Sailors, in 1992. Survivors include a daughter, Vera Mae Hawkins of Saginaw; two sons, Zeb J. Tarver J. "Lee" Tarver, 78, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Mausoleum with presentation of the flag by Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 26. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Tarver was born in Bonham and was a longtime Amarillo resident. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. He graduated from East Texas State College. In the early 1990s, he retired from ASARCO. Mr. Tarver was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 9190 of Fort Worth and a 40-year member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1361 where he held the fellowship degree of honor. He served as governor and past president of Big Bend Moose Lodge No. 179. Survivors include his aunt, Wynona Moorman of McKinney; and five cousins, Charlotte Ann Pittman, Buffie Pittman, Paula Pittman and Chad Pittman, all of Fort Worth, and Arby Moorman of McKinney. Amarillo Daily News, Nov. 9, 1999 New Mexico Cuein Dale Robertson LOS ALAMOS, N.M. - Cuein Dale "Corky" Robertson, 68, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the National Cemetery at Santa Fe. Arrangements are by DeVargas Funeral Home of Espanola. Mr. Robertson was born in Wheeler, Texas, where he attended school, graduating in 1950. That same year, he enlisted in the Air Force and served in Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1954 and returned to Texas. He married Patricia Branson in 1955 at Hobbs. They lived in Borger, Texas, where he worked for Russell Stationary. In 1960, they moved to Albuquerque where he was a representative for Kerr Paper Co. of Amarillo. They moved to Los Alamos in 1964 where he established Los Alamos Stationers. He was a member of the original committee that created the Chamber of Commerce at Los Alamos. He also was a member of the Shriners and Elks organizations. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Victor Robertson of Los Alamos, James Robertson of Colorado Springs and Kent Robertson of Gatlinburg, Tenn.; two sisters, Clarice Newkirk and Norma Fulton; two brothers, Chandos Robertson and Douglas Robertson; and three grandsons. Moser Darbro, 84, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Billings Funeral Home at Woodward. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery at Woodward. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Darbro was born in Woodward and raised in the Woodward area. She attended Woodward schools, graduating from Woodward High School and Woodward Junior College. Mrs. Darbro and her husband lived in and around Woodward until 1942, when they moved to Goodwell, where they farmed and raised cattle. She was a homemaker. She was a Church of Christ member and had been a member of the Goodwell Home Lovers Club for more than 20 years. She married Charles W. Darbro in 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1969 and a son, Walter Dean in 1944. Survivors include her children, John Darbro of Guymon, Evelyn VanBuskirk of Fort Lupton, Colo., and Debsee Hale of Woodward; three brothers, Shelby Moser and Thad Moser, both of Woodward, and Floyd Moser of California; a sister, Mary Darnell of Guymon; seven grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four step-greatgrandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, Nov. 9, 1999 Opal Johnson FELT, Okla. - Opal Johnson, 93, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m Wednesday in United Methodist Church in Felt with Billy Rammage and Dean Cullop officiating. Burial will be in Bertrand Cemetery by Cimarron Mortuary of Boise City. Mrs. Johnson was born in Clarendon, Texas, and moved to Cimarron County in 1907 by railroad car and team-drawn wagon. She attended grade school at Bertrand and graduated from high school at PAIPAMC in 1923 at Goodwell. She also received a two-year elementary certificate. Mrs. Johnson taught at Delfin then moved to Phoenix. She graduated from business college in Phoenix and was a secretary with an insurance company. After two years, she returned to Cimarron County. Following her marriage, she was a homemaker and helped on the farm. A charter member of Felt United Methodist Church, Mrs. Johnson was the musician when needed. She was treasurer of the Mother's Club, organized the WSCS and organized fund-raisers for cafeteria equipment for the Felt School. In 1991, she moved to the Cimarron Nursing Home. She married Henry Johnson in 1929 at Clayton, N.M. He preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Betty Jo LaFave of Tulsa and Mabel Joyce Ogle of Felt; five grandchildren; and 13 greatgrandchildren. The family suggest memorials be to a favorite charity which may be left in care of the mortuary. Mrs. Middaugh was born in Woodward County, Okla., and moved to Carson County in 1943. She was a homemaker and a member of Assembly of God Church. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Hutson of Panhandle and Linda Bradley of Groom; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nine great-greatgrandchildren. He was a World War II veteran and served as a staff sergeant in the Air Force from 1942 until 1946 in the IndiaBurma Theater. He farmed in the Oslo community for many years and was a member of Oslo Lutheran Church. Survivors include four sisters, Ingeborg Sogn of Guymon, Selma Reneau of Spearman, Betsy Ward of Gruver and Doris Schibler of Magnolia, Ark. Mr. Kesterson was a native of Acme and was a former longtime McLean resident. During World War II, he served in the Army. He retired as a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of First Christian Church of Memphis. He moved to Borger three years ago. He married Mary Whaley in 1950 at Memphis. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tom Kesterson of Borger and John Kesterson of Pampa; a daughter, Mary Woods of Borger; two sisters, Dorothy Kesterson of Claude and Doris Kesterson of Euless; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Bob Jones, sonin-law, and the Rev. James McLeod, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Reed Cemetery in Reed, Okla., by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington. Mrs. Eggers was born in Greer County, Okla., and graduated from Vinson High School. After graduation from Weatherford State Teachers College, she taught school in Oklahoma for five years, in Iowa for five years, in Texas for 17 years and one year in Florida. In 1995, Mrs. Eggers was recognized by the Reed Hall of Fame. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the Sulphur Baptist Church. In 1995, she moved to Wellington from Mangum. She married Albert Eggers in 1933 at Chickasha, Okla. He died in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Jones of Wellington and Margaret Ann Hall of Orlando, Fla.; three sisters, Adora Scott of Lazbuddie, Maudine Pugh of Amarillo and Alta Jean Davis of Wheeler; a half-brother, Henry Smith of Reed; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. McCarty, 76, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Highland Park Cemetery in Borger with Leonard Forsythe of Bible Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St., in Amarillo. Mr. McCarty was born in Weatherford and moved to Borger in 1945. During World War II, he served with the Marines and was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Campaign Medal with three Bronze Starts, Philippine Liberation Medal with one Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Mr. McCarty owned McCo Engraving Co., and had worked for Phillips Petroleum for 17 years. He married Mildred Christine Speegle in 1948 at Burkburnett. She died in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Mims of Borger; a son, James DeWayne McCarty of Pocatello, Idaho; a stepson, Robert Wayne Rhodes of Borger; two brothers, Bobby Jo McCarty of Amarillo and Billy Wayne McCarty of Santa Barbara, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He returned to Dimmitt in 1995. He married Hattie Bagwell in 1927 at Abernathy. She died in 1995. Mr. Moore was born in Holdenville, Okla., and graduated from Dumas High School in 1965. From 1966 until 1971, he served in the Navy. He returned to Dalhart in 1969. Mr. Moore owned M&S Body Shop. He served on the Dalhart City Council from 1988 until 1994, the Dalhart Volunteer Fire Department from 1977 until 1988 and was XIT Rodeo and Reunion director from 1985 until 1987. He was a member of the People's Church. He married Charline Hammit in 1969 at Dalhart. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Terry Lynn Banks of Dalhart; a son, Justin Wayne Moore of Dalhart; his parents, Sophia Elizabeth Hammit of McAlester, Okla., and his father, Lloyd Burton Moore of Allen, Okla.; four sisters, Sharon Austin and LaDean Stewart, both of Dalhart, Diane Fry of McAlester, Okla., and Syvilla Stacey of Sapulpa, Okla.; and a brother, Brian Moore of Borger.
