Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in SchoolerGordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St., with Dale Travis, pastor of Family Life Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born in Cato County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rainbows and Summit Baptist Church. In 1961, she moved to Amarillo from Borger. She married William E. Brown at Amarillo. He died in 1976. Survivors include three daughters, Bobbie Owens of San Antonio, Joyce Earleen Ruiz of Gonzales, Calif., and Shirley Veatch of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, Charlie Simons of Hereford; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Multiple Sclerosis or a hospice. Viewing will be from noon today at the funeral home. Eva Katharina Sisco Eva Katharina Sisco, 73, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field, pastor of Southeast Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, 315 E. Fifth Ave. Mrs. Sisco was born in Bischofsheim, Germany, came to the United States in 1948 and became a citizen in 1952. For 24 years, she was an Army wife before moving to Amarillo in 1968. She married Wilson Sisco in 1947. He died in 1994. Survivors include three children, Avery Sisco of Amarillo, Lori Flansburg of Acworth, Ga., and Gabi Benson of Lyons, Colo.; two sisters, Magda Booker of Ripley, Tenn., and Irmgard Kling of Bischofsheim; and four grandchildren. E.J. Pemberton E.J. "Jack" Pemberton 78, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in University Church of Christ in Canyon with David Lough officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Pemberton was born in Wellington and moved to Plainview in 1925. In 1942, he entered the Army and served until 1945. He moved to El Paso in 1945, to Lubbock in 1954 and to Canyon in 1983. Mr. Pemberton worked for several municipal electric companies. In 1982, he retired as line crew foreman from Lubbock Power and Light. He was a part-time security guard after his retirement. He was a member of the Sheriff's Association of Texas and the University Church of Christ of Canyon. He married Helen E. Garner in 1938 at Plainview. She died in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Jacquelyn Clark of Canyon; a brother, Ralph Pemberton of Lubbock; two sisters, Mary Chaffin of Lubbock and Olen Weathers of Fremont, Calif.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice or Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Program. Felma Ivey Felma Ivey, 91, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999. In 1972, she retired after 20 years with Fort Worth and Denver Railroad. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Vega. In 1989, she moved to Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Ivey, in 1988. Survivors include a daughter, Geneva Bellows of Vega; a brother, R.C. Cates of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Florence Carr of Mesquite and Melena Butts of Whitesboro; a stepsister, Oma Johnson of Henderson; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mary Lou Every Mary Lou Every, 71, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999. Mrs. Every was born in Channing and had lived in Amarillo for most of her life. She was a beautician. She was a member of the Quilting Club and was a Methodist. Survivors include a daughter, Vicki Namey of Orlando, Fla.; two brothers, Lee Amason of Amarillo and John Amason of Dalhart; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will be a 1930 Port Lane. They suggest memorials be to the Channing Cemetery Fund, Channing, TX 79018. Jose Hernandez Jose Hernandez, 49, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999. He was a member of New Life Christian Church. Ernest George Powell Ernest George Powell, 92, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999. He was a 52-year member of Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church. He married Nadine Stalcup in 1934 at Claude. He was preceded in death by his wife in March and by a son, Lacy Wade, in 1937. Survivors include a daughter, Doris Maxwell of Fort Worth; two sons, George Powell of Panhandle and the Rev. Jim Powell of Prague, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Owens Funeral Home of Sapulpa, Okla. Mr. Young was born in Hale Center and had lived in Abernathy and Amarillo before moving to Sapulpa five years ago. He served in the Army and was a retired mechanic for Transport of Texas and Groendyke. He married Ruby Maxine Amarine in 1977 at Amarillo. She died in 1994. Survivors include a son, Charles Lee Young Sr. of Amarillo; two daughters, Kerry Ashton of Sapulpa and Virginia "Gena" Woods of Lubbock; two sisters, Lorene Moody of Wellington and Leoma Gallagher of Bakersfield, Calif.; two brothers, Melvin Young of Lubbock and J.T. Young of Doniphan, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Oklahoma Dortha Nell Goss ADAMS, Okla. - Dortha Nell Goss, 64, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Hooker with the Rev. Ron D. Mimms and the Rev. Steve Unruh officiating. Burial will be in Union Center Cemetery. Arrangements are by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker. Mrs. Goss was born in Domby. She attended nearby Adams schools and married John Goss Jr. after graduating Adams High School. She then attended Panhandle A&M College in Goodwell. She and her husband moved to Berkeley, Calif., for one year but returned from California to pastor Hardesty Baptist Church for two years. They then ministered four churches before moving to Adams in 1981, where they pastored the Adams Baptist Church. Mrs. Goss worked 16 years as a bus driver and a substitute teacher at Hooker public schools. She was a member of Adams Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; a son, Jack Goss of Perryton, Texas; three daughters, Debbie Ivy of Aurora, Colo.; Donna Landes of Amarillo; and Dorla Harris of Perryton; a sister, Kay McPherson of Aurora; a brother, Ken Johnston of Florida; and eight grandchildren. Myrna Shields Osterloo GUYMON, Okla. - Myrna Shields Osterloo, 59, of Emery, S.D., died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999. Services will be this morning in First Baptist Church in Emery. Local services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Lee Smothermon of Hooker officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery. Mrs. Osterloo was born in Guymon, attended school in Straight and graduated from Guymon High School. She graduated from Stewart's School of Cosmetology and was employed by Lorraine's Beauty Shop in Emery until 1964. Mrs. Osterloo was a member of the First Baptist Church in Emery where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. She was the secretary for the Sunday School department and a member of Kings Daughters. She married Duane Osterloo in 1962 at Straight. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Pam Rector of Abilene, Texas, and Cindy Archer of Katy, Texas; her mother, Myrtle Shields of Guymon; a brother, Gary Shields of Guymon; four granddaughters; and two special friends, Der Weeldreyer and Fern Decker. "Shorty" Brown, 83, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Dunn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Scott Seymour, minister of Center Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Brown was born in Mexico, Mo., and moved to Plainview, Texas, where he attended school. He joined the Army Air Corps in 1941 and served in the European, African and Middle East Theaters. He moved to Tucumcari in 1950 where he was employed by the Army Corps of Engineers at Conchas Dam, N.M. He was involved in building the Fleming Feed Mill then was employed as a welder by Hoskins Welding. In 1971, he retired as a self-employed welder. He was a member of the Delfido Post 2528 Veterans of Foreign Wars of Tucumcari, the 329th Service Group Army Air Corps during World War II and the 112th Calvary Association. Survivors include his wife, Joanne; two daughters, Karen Edwards of Clovis and Marlene Smith of Douglasville, Ga.; two sons, Gary Hall of Belen and John Hall of Albuquerque; a sister, Lois Rogers of Farmington; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be until time of services today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity in memory of Mr. Brown. Elsewhere G.R. Riggins DENISON - G.R. "Shy" Riggins, 55, died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mr. Riggins was born in Denison and attended school in Amarillo. He served for three years in the armed forces. In 1975, he graduated from East Texas State University and began his teaching career as a vocational agriculture instructor. Mr. Riggins taught in Prairie Valley ISD of Nocona, Community ISD of Nevada, Texas, and Howe ISD in Howe. Many of his students received state and national awards. He retired in 1995. Survivors include two sons, Gordon Riggins of Brenham and Chance Riggins of Fairbank, Alaska; a daughter, Marta Shea Riggins of Sherman; his parents, Robert and Maurine Riggins of Denison; and five grandchildren. Leonor Juarez Reyes KRESS - Leonor Juarez Reyes, 81, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. John Salazar officiating. Burial will be at Kress Cemetery by Bartley-Silva Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Reyes was born in Redsville. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, the Guadalupane Society, Daughters of Mary, Carasmatic, Crusillistas and Marriage Encounter. She married Cosme Reyes in 1933 at San Marcos. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987 and by a daughter, Casimiri Luera. Survivors include two sons, Andres Reyes and Cruz Reyes, both of Kress; three daughters, Catalina Noriega and Lupe Reyes, both of Kress, and Sister Theodora Reyes of Amarillo; a sister, Maria Juarez of San Marcos; a brother, Simon Juarez of Michigan; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Area W. Ernest Rose PAMPA - W. Ernest Rose, 86, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with Jim Hubbard, a nephew, of Claude, officiating. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery at Miami. Mr. Rose was born in Mobley, Ark. He moved to Miami in 1937 from Arkansas and moved to Pampa in 1949 from Miami. He was the assistant manager for the Singer Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1968. He was a deacon and trustee of the Church of the Brethren, where he also taught the adult Sunday School class. He married Mary Lavern Hubbard in 1944 at Miami. Survivors include his wife; a son, Merlin Rose of Pampa; two daughters, Velda Poole of Vigo Park and Carol Campbell of Dallas; three brothers, Wesley Rose, Pat Rose and Frank Rose; three sisters, Zora Boyer, Euna Pinter and Florence Gardner; and seven grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Heart Association. The family will be at 2335 Evergreen. Wanda Lee King HEREFORD - Wanda Lee King, 73, of Gardnerville, Nev., died Monday, Sept. 6, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Gililland-Watson Funeral Home Rose Chapel with the Rev. Terry Cosby of First Baptist Church in Hereford officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Mrs. King was born in Quitaque and moved to Hereford from Canyon as a child. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Dennis King. Survivors include her husband and her mother, Nola Hanlin of Hereford. The family will be at 506 Schley. Jerry Leigh Jamison CANADIAN - Jerry Leigh Jamison, 35, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian with the Rev. Bradley K. Walker, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Stickley-Hill Funeral Directors in Canadian. Mr. Jamison was born in Spearman and graduated from Canadian High School in 1982. He moved to the Fort Worth and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., areas in 1989 before returning to Canadian in May. From 1989 until 1999, he was employed by Dal-Tile. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Susan and Leon Sutton of Canadian; two brothers, Michael of Marble Falls and Joe Don of Amarillo; and his grandmother, Bette Clements of Bridgeport. Lorene Paschal PADUCAH - Lorene Paschal, 62, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah with the Rev. James Hooper, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah. Mrs. Paschal was born in Sulphur, Okla., and had been a longtime resident of Cottle County. She was a homemaker and member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Keith Paschal of Tahoka; a daughter, Rita Evans of Paducah; seven brothers, Earl Votaw of Hillsboro, James Votaw of Childress, Rickey Votaw of Amarillo and Cecil Votaw, Barney Votaw, Jerry Votaw and Carl Votaw, all of Paducah; three sisters, Sue Piper and Laura Thomas, both of Paducah, and Ann Monks of Eufala, Okla.; and two grandchildren. John Wayne Neely HEDLEY - John Wayne Neely, 58, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Baptist Church in Hedley with the Rev. Bruce Howard, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon by Robertson Funeral Directors in Clarendon. Mr. Neely was born in Parnell and was a resident of Dallas for 25 years before moving to Hedley three-and-a-half years ago. He was a truck driver for most of his life and was co-owner of 4J Distributing for 22 years. He was a Baptist and a member of Independent Truckers Association. Survivors include his former wife, Judith A. Neely of Farmers Branch; three sons, John C. Neely of Farmers Branch, Michael Neely and Robert Neely; a daughter, Donna Neely; a stepson, Jeffrey Neely of Dallas; a sister, Patricia Gray of Amarillo; and seven grandchildren. O.C. Rampley SILVERTON - O.C. Rampley, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Silverton High School auditorium with Ted Kingery and Hal Rogers officiating. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Silverton. Mr. Rampley was born in Lockney. During World War II, he served in the Marine Corps as a second lieutenant on the USS Thomas Jefferson in the Pacific. He coached for one year at Las Cruces, N.M., before returning to Silverton. Mr. Rampley served the Silverton schools for 33 years as a coach, principal then as superintendent. Mr. Rampley was a charter member and former international president of Foundation Beefmaster Breeders Association. He was a member of Beefmaster Breeders United, Heart of America Beefmaster Breeders, Central Beefmaster Breeders and the Panhandle-New Mexico Beefmaster Breeders Association. He also was a member of the Silverton Church of Christ and a former member of the Silverton Lions Club. He married Faye Gene Davis in 1944 at Quantico, Va. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dwight Carl Rampley of Wills Point and Wayne Allen Rampley of Muskogee, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
