Masonic graveside services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Cave Creek Cemetery at Vinson, Okla., with his brother, Parker Turner, officiating. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Turner was born in Vinson. He worked in construction in California for 45 years and owned and operated Ray Turner Construction Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Durham Turner, in 1977; by a son, Charles Turner; and by a daughter, Eva Palmer. Survivors include two sons, Melvin Turner of Moses Lake, Wash., and Allen Turner of San Fernando, Calif.; a daughter, Laverne Eckman of Martin, Ga.; two brothers, Jack Turner of Durant, Okla., and Parker Turner of Dekalb; a sister, Kathleen Mitchell of Sacramento, Calif.; and several grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was born in Freestone County. She joined Salem Baptist Church. She married Alexander Johnson in 1942 at Teague. He died in 1986. She moved to Hereford from Teague in 1958. She was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church. Survivors include five sons, A.J. Johnson of Aiken, S.C., Joe Johnson of Houston, D.J. Johnson of Hinesville, Ga., Travis Johnson of Hereford and Charles Johnson of Amarillo; two daughters, Annie R. Johnson of Hereford and Marie Vaughn of Houston; two sisters; one brother; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Mr. Thomas was born in Sayre, Okla. He was an industrial engineer for 31 years for American Zinc of Illinois. He worked as a consulting engineer for the city of Borger. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Masonic Lodge, both in Dumas, and the Professional Engineering Association of Texas and Corrosion Engineering Association. He married Jean F. Hibbet in 1937 at Evanston, Ill. She preceded him in death. Survivors include a son, Orpha Benton Thomas III of Arlington Heights, Ill.; a daughter, Sherry Brown of Montezuma; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Trolinder was born in Montague County and had lived in Hooleyan Community since he was 5 years old. He was a farmer. He was a Methodist and a member of First Methodist Church. He married Thelma Warton in 1926 at Kirkland. She died in 1991. He also was preceded in death by a son, Leon, in 1998. He worked 47 years for Southwestern Public Service Co., retiring in 1981 as an electrical engineer. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 731 and I.E.E.E, a professional engineers association. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Harvey Elms Sunday School class. He married Dortha Lentz in 1943 at Amarillo. She married Lindley Adrian Mohon in 1936 at Plainview. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Dr. Nancy Mohon Shasten of Seattle; a son, David Michael Mohon of Weatherford; a sister, Della Faye Hamm of Versailles, Mo.; and two grandchildren. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home in Muleshoe. Mrs. Duncan was born in Cecil, Ark., and spent most of her life in Amarillo. She had been a teacher, real estate agent and insurance agent. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a resident of Temple. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Bill King, and Les Duncan. Survivors include a son, William King of Salado; two sisters, Nona B. Douglas and Ruth Malone, both of Muleshoe; and two grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News Dec. 11, 1999 Kenneth Conrad Moore Kenneth Conrad "Tack" Moore, 85, of Amarillo, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Park Place Towers Chapel with Dr. Strauss Atkinson, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Moore was born on a farm in Garner. He attended Rock Tank School and Rock Creek Baptist Church. He moved to Amarillo in 1935 after selling a service station in Hot Springs, N.M., now Truth or Consequences, N.M. He then purchased a gas station on West Sixth Avenue in Amarillo. He married Effie O'Neal in 1941. He served in the Army from 1941 until 1944. For more than 42 years, Mr. Moore owned and operated a variety of service stations in Amarillo. His last station was a Shamrock station on Bell Avenue. He retired in 1977. He was a charter member of the Golden K Kiwanis Club and was a 60-year member of the Elks Lodge and the Masonic Lodge. He also had been a Shriner for 35 years. Survivors include a son, K. Roger Moore of Dallas; a stepson, Raymond Crisp of Amarillo; a sister, Hazel Gary of Mineral Wells; a brother, Waymond Moore of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three half-sisters; four grandsons; six greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Callander was born in Keyport, N.J., and had lived in Amarillo since April. She graduated from the University of Texas in 1937. She married Ronald Charlton Callander in 1937. He died in 1987. She was a Gamma Phi Beta alumna. She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Amarillo. In Austin, she was a member of International Good Neighbors Council and Pan American Round Table. She also was a member of St. Clements Episcopal Church in Alexandria, Va., and was director of the Altar Guild. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Davis of Amarillo; a son, Robert D. Callander of Springfield, Va.; a brother, Francis A. Hale of Tucson, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. He also had been a civil service employee and instructor at the Amarillo Air Base. He was a member of Anna Street Church of Christ. He married Opal Joy in 1974 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don Martin Carpenter of Hobbs, N.M., and Max Carpenter of Freeport; two daughters, Ann Schroeder of Pottsboro and Sue Mauer of Bethany, Okla.; a sister, Nina Theuret of Fort Worth; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Andrews was born in Amarillo and was a lifetime resident. He served in the Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart. He married Martha Ann Pirtle in 1943 at Dallas. She died in 1985. He owned and operated C&M Surplus. He was a member and deacon of Cornerstone Baptist Church for 22 years. Survivors include three daughters, Gail Clark of Whitewright, Linda Weyland of St. Paul, Minn., and Diana Brown of Lubbock; a son, Jay Andrews of Amarillo; his mother, Mary Ellen Andrews of Lubbock; a brother, Charles M. Andrews of Las Cruces, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will be at 1935 S. Woodland. The family suggests memorials be to Cornerstone Baptist Church. Amarillo Daily News Dec. 11 1999 Oklahoma Ruth Elizabeth Graves HOOKER, Okla. - Ruth Elizabeth Graves, 86, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the First Church of the Nazarene with Dr. David A. Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in Rockford, Ill., by Roberts Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Graves was born in Detroit and was raised in Eldon, Mo., where she attended school. She received a degree in bookkeeping at Peoria, Ill. In the early 1950s, she moved to Rockford and lived there until 1988, when she moved to Hooker. She worked for the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center in Rockford as an office manager and bookkeeper for 15 years, retiring in 1972. Mrs. Graves was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and volunteered with the Texas County Reassurance Program. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Leota Pankey and Madelyn Lindig. Survivors include three sons, Clarence R. Pankey of Rockford, Paul Pankey of Hooker and Walter Pankey of LeRoy, Kan.; two stepdaughters, Rosalyn Glavin of Rosehill, Mich., and Roxann Bushree of Ramona, Calif.; a brother, Earl Bellin of Pacifica, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
