Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Lefors Methodist Church at Lefors with the Rev. Jim Teeter, minister of the Lefors Methodist Church, and the Rev. Vernon O'Kelly, a retired United Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery at McLean by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Koscheski was born in Wilson, Okla. She was a graduate of Lefors High School at Lefors. She married Nelson Wayne Koscheski Sr. in 1940. He died in 1991. She moved to Houston in 1981 and later to San Antonio where she lived at the Air Force Village. She was a homemaker and a member of Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include two sons, Robert Combs Koscheski of Houston and the Rev. Canon Nelson Koscheski of Dallas; two brothers, Joel R. Combs of Pampa and Harold B. Combs of Levelland; two sisters, Merle Rosser of Houston and Billie Jinks of Amarillo; and four grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to The Lefors Methodist Church. Harold D. Glover PAMPA - Harold D. Glover, 67, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Full Gospel Church, and the Rev. Gene Allen, retired pastor of Briarwood Full Gospel Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Glover was born in Mount Vernon and had lived in Pampa for 22 years. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during the Korean War. He worked for Child Protective Services and was a member of Briarwood Full Gospel Church. He married Maurine Nunley in 1952 at Jacksboro. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Rick Glover, Mark Glover and Gary Glover, all of Amarillo and Benny Glover of Irving; a sister, Delores Ogle of Apple Valley, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Matt Nix Jr. SUDAN - Matt Nix Jr., 76, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church in Sudan with the Rev. Jim Hawthorne of Amarillo and the Rev. Lyndal Fletcher, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Littlefield Memorial Park Cemetery in Littlefield by Ellis Funeral Home of Sudan. Mr. Nix was born in Floydada and moved to Lamb County in 1925. He was a farmer and a member of First United Methodist Church of Sudan. He married Lena Mickey Glenn in 1941 at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Mike Nix of Belton; two daughters, Marilyn Cox of Muleshoe and Debbie Ridlon of Lubbock; a sister, Jackie Markham of Littlefield; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Irlene Shearer HEREFORD - Irlene Shearer, 60, of Orange, Calif., died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Rest Lawn Cemetery in Hereford with the Rev. Paul McClung, retired Baptist minister and former pastor of Dawn Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mrs. Shearer was born in Hereford and attended Dawn and Hereford schools. She attended West Texas State University and was employed by Sunkist in Los Angeles County for several years. She was a clerk for Melodyland Church. She married John Bustamant. She remarried Jack Shearer, who preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Xan Serocki of Littleton, Colo.; her father, Walter R. Galley of Burnett; a brother, Clifford H. Galley of Burnett; and two granddaughters. Odessa Austin MEMPHIS - Odessa Austin, 78, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 1999. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church, 121 S. Eighth St., of Memphis with Willie Jackson, elder, officiating. Arrangements are by Lomax Funeral Home of Dallas. Mrs. Austin was born in Paris, Texas. After moving to Memphis, she married Pink Wesley Austin. She was a 50-plusyear member of Ephesians Church of God in Christ where she was involved in several auxiliaries. She had eight children, including a daughter, Zetta Austin of Amarillo. Viewing will be from 11:15 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Saturday in Ephesians Church of God in Christ. Dorothy Hudgins PLAINVIEW - Dorothy Hudgins, 70, of Lubbock, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview with the Rev. Roger Foote, pastor of Northside Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Lemons Funeral Home of Plainview. Mrs. Hudgins was raised in Lockney where she graduated from high school. In 1944, she was employed by Southwestern Bell while attending Lipperts Business College from which she graduated. In 1969, Mrs. Hudgins moved to Lubbock where she retired from Southwestern Bell in 1981. She was a member of Seth Ward Baptist Church. She married J.H. "Pete" Hudgins in 1954 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1981. She is survived by a brother, Donnie Maudlin of Abernathy, and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the American Diabetes Association. Amarillo Gladys I. Ludden Gladys I. Ludden, 95, formerly of Amarillo, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor Francis A. Smyer officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Ludden was born in May, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1943 from Mooreland, Okla. She was a cook for the Amarillo Independent School District. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Amarillo Senior Citizens. In 1983, she moved to Topeka, Kan. She married T.J. Ludden in 1919 at Canyon. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1950 and by a son, F.A. "Tommy" Ludden. Survivors include two daughters, Dortha Graves of Houston and Norma Sechrist of Topeka; a brother, Ervin Van Fleet of Laverne, Okla.; two sisters, Edna Owens of Phoenix and Selma Neilsen of Laverne; eight grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Charline M. Ward Charline M. Ward, 73, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Vega United Methodist Church with Jim Watkins, minister, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Ward was born in Vega and had lived there since 1994. For 25 years, she worked for the Postal Service in Amarillo at night and in Vega during the day. In Vega, she also owned the Burger Barn and Hickory Inn. She was a member of the Vega United Methodist Church. She married Ewell Ward in 1943 at Clovis, N.M. He died in 1971. Survivors include three sons, Hal R. Ward of Vega, Dal K. Ward of Edmond, Okla., and Tim Ward of Boys Ranch; a daughter, Jan Britten of Groom; a brother, Dick McNabb of Crockett; a sister, Nancy Johnson of Waukomis, Okla.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Charity Dawn Smith-Powell Charity Dawn Smith-Powell, 25, of Lubbock and a longtime Amarillo resident, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999. Hughes St. Mrs. Powell was a 1993 graduate of Tascosa High School and attended Education of America College. In 1997, she moved to Lubbock where she was employed by Wal-Mart. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Powell of Lubbock; her parents, Lorenzo and Lois Faye Smith of Amarillo; three sisters, Valeda Hollins of Amarillo, Lela Whitaker of Fort Worth and Bobbie Scott of Mesquite; a brother, Douglas Mitchell of Austin; three stepchildren, Tirar Powell, Anthony Powell and Antoine Powell, all of Lubbock; and her grandparents, Sue Alberts and Minerva Smith, both of Amarillo, and Morris Lee Austin. The family will be at 409 N. Mississippi. Shannon Hills Kings Rutledge Shannon Hills King Rutledge, 43, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999. Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Hopson, pastor of Highland Pentecostal Church, and Dr. G.A. Roach, director of pastoral care at Northwest Texas Hospital, officiating. Mrs. Rutledge was born and raised in Pampa. She was a cheerleader and 1973 graduate of Pampa High School. In 1975, she received her licensed vocational nurse certificate from Frank Phillips College and then earned an associate's degree in nursing from Amarillo College in 1989. Mrs. Rutledge was a certified criticalcare nurse at Coronado Hospital in Pampa and at Northwest Texas Hospital. She also was a nurse for Dr. Laxman Bhatia in Pampa. She attended church at the Chapel at Northwest Texas Hospital and was active in Outreach Ministries from 1978 until 1985. She married Tim Rutledge in January at Amarillo. She was previously married to Jack King. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Forrest King and Dennis King, both of Pampa; her mother, Majaunta Hills of Pampa; six sisters, Dietta Pope, Stephanie Rice and Majaunta Jr. McKean, all of Pampa; Dawn Traweek of San Antonio, Wendy Fruscella of Amarillo and Geralyn Kleffman of Fayetteville, N.C.; two brothers, Shaun Hills of Houston and Rocky Hills of Burke, Va.; and special friends, Sandy, Gilly and Dana Phelps, all of Amarillo. She was a longtime Amarillo resident where she was a homemaker and member of Summitt Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Chappell of Mesquite and Terry Chappell of Amarillo; a daughter, Reba Russell of Frisco; two brothers, Wilmer Archer Jr., of Lockney and Johnny Archer of Amarillo; three sisters, Corine McKay and Edna Ray, both of Amarillo, and Florine McCoy of Lockney; and four grandchildren. Oklahoma Clo Ellen Laughry BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Clo Ellen Laughry, 66, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in the Oak Park Baptist Church with Butch Brown, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Stumpff Funeral Home of Bartlesville. Mrs. Laughry was born in Cimarron, N.M., and grew up in Dumas, Texas. In 1956, she moved to Bartlesville and earned her licensed practical nurse license from Tri-County Tech in 1974. She was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church where she taught a children's Bible class. She married Arthur L. Laughry in 1949 at Dumas. Survivors include her husband; four children, David Lee Laughry of Houston, James Craig Laughry of Lafayette, La., Richard Nelson Laughry of Slidell, La., and Janet M. Parrett of Bartlesville; her mother, Edith A. Saunders of Lufkin, Texas; a brother, Lacy Saunders of Port Lavaca, Texas; two sisters, Virginia LaForge and Lynda May Slagle, both of Lufkin; 11 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Burke officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Henson was born in McKenzie, Ala., and had lived in Clovis since 1965. She was a licensed practical nurse and a member of Sandia Baptist Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars 3280 Auxiliary and the BPO DOES Clovis Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband, O.W. Henson, in August and a daughter, Diane Henson. Survivors include two daughters, Bobbi Lyons of Clovis and Mary N. Meadows of Atlanta, Ga.; a son, Robert E. Lyons of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and two grandsons. Mildred L. Lambert CLAYTON, N.M. - Mildred L. Lambert, 90, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at Fort Smith, Ark. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Hass Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Texline Cemetery at Texline, Texas. Mrs. Lambert was born in Cumberland County, Tenn., and moved to the Sedan area of Union County in 1910 and later to Clayton, where she attended school. She married Richard Edward Lambert in 1929 in Amarillo. In the 1940s, they moved to Sundown, Texas, and then to Roswell, where she lived until 1963. She moved to Fort Worth, Texas, for a couple of years, then returned to Clayton until 1993. She moved back to Fort Worth and later to Roland, Okla., where she was living at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her husband and two stepsons, Jack Lambert and Edward Lambert Jr. Survivors include several nieces and nephews, Willene Roberts, John Boyd Holland, John W. Regenos, Janis Watkins, Gary Cullen, Jerry Keener, Tenna Sue Anderson, Ted Holland and Jim Holland. Elsewhere Ruby M. Kelly PICO RIVERA, Calif. - Ruby M. Kelly, 89, a former Amarillo resident, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery at Resurrection. Arrangements are by Morrow's Mortuary at Pico Rivera. Mrs. Kelly was born in Amarillo. Her survivors include a brother, Charlie Betty of Amarillo. Ronald Edward Higgins ANAHEIM, Calif. - Ronald Edward Higgins, 52, died Jan. 23, 1999. Services were under the direction of Brown Colonial Funeral Home of Anaheim. Mr. Higgins was born in Childress. He was in the retail business in Amarillo where he was a member of First Baptist Church. He owned a retail shop in Anaheim. Survivors include a daughter, Misty Marie Higgins of Amarillo, and his grandmother, Lavena Gunn, of Amarillo.
