Mrs. Gibson was born in Amarillo and had lived here for the past 25 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. She married William Malcom Gibson in 1934 at Cross Plains. He died in 1988. Survivors include a son, Mark R. Gibson of St. Charles, Mo.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In Amarillo, she owned and operated D&S Snack Bar for over 10 years and later worked for Amarillo Independent School District Food Service until her retirement in 1992. Her husband, J.C. Meeks, died in 1988. Survivors include three sons, Bob Fancher of Arlington, Buddy Fancher of Jonestown and Tim Fancher of Fort Worth; a daughter, Dianna Cole of Amarillo; three half-brothers; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Reed was born in Kingsford, Mich., and attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, where he majored in diesel engineering. He served with the Navy during World War II and moved to Amarillo in 1970. He majored in electrical engineering at Amarillo College and worked for several meat packing plants as a maintenance mechanic for over 50 years. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. His wife, Lulabelle Reed, died in 1997. His daughter, Cheryl Fernandez, died in 1998. Mrs. Smith was born in Missouri and was a longtime resident of Tucumcari, where she owned and operated her own restaurant. She had been a Harvey Girl with the Harvey Restaurants that followed the railroads across the country. Her husband, John Ben Smith, died in 1962. Her daughter, Rebecca Kralicek, died in 1955. Alma Mae Swilling TUCUMCARI, N.M. - Alma Mae Swilling, 82, a former resident of Tucumcari, died Friday, July 9, 1999, in Dumas. Burial will be in the family plot in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Swilling was born in Saint Jo, Texas, and moved to Tucumcari in 1953. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the Liberty Extension Club. She moved to Dumas six years ago. Her husband, Otto Swilling, died in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Rinestine of Dumas and Wanda Beck of Amarillo; a son, Geary Swilling of Knoxville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. today until service time Monday at the funeral home. Orma C. Hamilton CLOVIS, N.M. - Orma C. Hamilton, 73, died Monday, July 5, 1999. Mrs. Hamilton was born in Liberty, Kan., and had lived in California, where she was a cook and owned and operated her own business. In Big Bear City, Calif., she helped her parents run a restaurant and was a member of the Emblem Club No. 191. She moved to Clovis in 1971, where she worked at the Twin Cronnie for over 20 years before retiring in 1988. She married Willard "Ham" Hamilton in 1942 at Las Vegas. He died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, twin granddaughters and a grandson. Survivors include two sons, Willard "Mickey" Hamilton Jr. of Clovis and Roger P. Hamilton of St. Louis; a daughter, Lisa White of Clovis; a brother, William E. Oklahoma Claude Harrell SHATTUCK, Okla. - Claude "Grit" Harrell, 85, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Good Samaritan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Elmer Fields officiating. Burial will be in Gage Memorial Cemetery with military rites by the American Legion Post No. 223 of Gage. Mr. Harrell was born in Shattuck and attended school in Follett. After serving with the Army during World War II, he returned to farm in Follett, and later moved to Gage. He was a member of the Methodist Church and, in 1992, moved to Shattuck Nursing Center. Survivors include three brothers, Ola Ray Harrell and Max Harrell, both of Miller, S.D., and Norval Harrell of Amarillo; two sisters, Audrey Reger of Follett and Erma Hunter of Oklahoma City; and special friend, Bob Brown of Shattuck. Glenna Marie Heise GUYMON, Okla. - Glenna Marie Heise, 86, died Friday, July 9, 1999. Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Sayre Cemetery in Sayre. Arrangements are by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Heise was born on a farm near Custer City and lived in the Lawton area for several years before moving back to Arapaho. In 1947, she moved to Sayre, where she worked for the Daily Headlight Journal, the North Fork Electric Co-op and the County Treasurer's Office. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Sayre United Methodist Church and was active in the Guild. In 1982, she moved to Guymon. She was a member of the Victory Memorial United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She married Henry Heise in 1934 at Arapaho. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Ann H. Hughes of Guymon; a son, Don H. Heise of Guymon; two sisters, Florence Wright of Custer City and Sylva Sauer of Oklahoma City; a brother, Charles "Chuck" Roush of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She married Horace Gebo and they moved to Plainview in 1959 to open the first Gebo's store. Her husband died in 1978. Mr. Boatwright was born in LaSalle County and moved to the area 35 years ago from Kress. He was a farmer and part owner of Five Star Equipment Co. He served with the Marines during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church. He married Mae Seyler in 1932 at Nashville, Ill. She died in 1980. He was also preceded in death by a son, Don Mayer, in 1986. Survivors include a daughter, Judith Robertson of Pampa; a son, Bob Mayer of Pampa; two brothers, Charles Mayer of Orlando, Fla., and Henry Mayer of Caseyville, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Claude Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Stephenson was born in Thornberry, Clay County, and had lived in Claude for most of his life. He was a farmer and a rancher and for several years, a foreman for Nelson Grain. He was retired and a member of First Baptist Church, 55 and Uppers and the Armstrong County Museum. He married Nettie Ethel Thomas in 1938 at Claude. She died in 1996. Survivors include two daughters, Jan Campbell of Clarendon and Karen Keister of Amarillo; two sisters, Helen Parsons of Hereford and Gertrude Jones of Claude; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Mrs. Sargent was born in Konawa, Okla., and moved to Pampa in 1935. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, where she did mission work and was secretary and assistant treasurer. She was a homemaker and worked in the cafeteria for the Pampa Independent School District for 10 years. She married Preston Sargent in 1948. Survivors include her husband; three sons, Ronnie Sargent of Stinnett, Terry Sargent of White Deer and Brian Sargent of Canyon; her mother, Clemmie Tackett of Pampa; two sisters, Verna Mae Cooper of Pampa and Barbara Duty of Spring; a brother, Bobby Tackett of Peoria, Ill.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He served with the Army during World War II and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. His daughter, Paulia Ranjel, died in 1962. He married Guadalupe Flores in 1937 at Weslaco. Survivors include his wife; five sons, Dario Dominguez of San Benito, Loy Jose Dominguez of La Feria, Julian E. He graduated from Claude High School and attended Texas A&M before serving with the Army Air Corps during World War II. He later attended West Texas State College. He was a retired farmer and rancher, a member of the Vega United Methodist Church, the Vega American Legion Post and a 50-year member of Masonic Lodge. He was also on the board of the Vega Wheat Growers Association and the Amarillo Production Credit Association. He moved to Amarillo two months ago. He married Johnnye Louise Bagwell in 1946 at Claude. Survivors include his wife; a son, David Doshier of Vega; three daughters, Diana Mayhugh of Macau, China, Nancy Brackett of Shallowater and Betty Backer of Taos, N.M.; a sister, LaNell Gunter of Claude; and 12 grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was born in Hopkins County, Millers Grove, and had been a resident of Quanah since 1927. She was a retired cook for the Senior Citizens, a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the VFW Women's Auxiliary. She moved to Azle three years ago. She married William Alex Brown in 1937 at Quanah. He died in 1992. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Stevie Bob Matteson. Burial will be in Ignacio Lopez Rayon Cemetery of Ignacio Lopez Rayon, Mexico. Selene was born in Guadalupe Victoria Durango, Mexico, and was living with her aunt in Muleshoe. Survivors include her parents; a sister, Lupita Avila of the home; two brothers, Manuel Jr. and Daniel, both of the home; and her grandparents, Ofelio and Micaela Lira of Ignacio Lopez Rayon and Esabio Avila of Raymon Corona Durango.
