Rodgers PAMPA - Hattie N. Rodgers, 92, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Harold Hook, pastor of Hobart Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Rodgers was born in Siloam Springs, Ark., and had lived in Pampa since 1926. She was a member of Hobart Baptist Church. She married Jessie T. Rodgers in 1922 at Weddington, Ark. He died in 1976. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Hazel Juanita Rodgers in 1925, and a son, Donald Eugene Rodgers, in 1968. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Frances King of Pampa; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Vera Caskey BORGER - Vera Caskey, 77, died Friday, Jan 8., 1999. Services were Monday in Brown Funeral Directors Chapel of the Fountains. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery at Pampa. Mrs. Caskey was born in Wyandotte, Okla., and had been a Borger resident for 72 years. She was a retired housekeeper at North Plains Hospital in Borger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Caskey Sr., in 1983 and a son, Billy Wayne Caskey, in 1943. Survivors include a son, Joe Caskey Jr. of Altus, Okla.; two daughters, Paul Landers of Granite, Okla., and Julie McMahan of Borger; three sisters, Evelyn Frakes of Pauls Valley, Okla., Lois Guyll of Sulphur Springs, Ark., and Mary LaRue of Borger; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren. Veta Mae Cole Edwards BORGER - Veta Mae Cole Edwards, 60, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church with D. Jay Lewis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors. Ms. Edwards was born in Bluff Dale and had lived in Borger for 60 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include her parents, J.H. and Ruby Cole of Borger; a brother, Don Cole of Victoria; and two sisters, Wanda Packwood of Stephenville and Lavern Williams of Victoria. Ottie Raymond Carpenter BORGER - Ottie Raymond Carpenter, 91, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fairlanes Baptist Church with the Rev. Art McAninch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors. Mr. Carpenter was born in Yarnaby, Okla., and had lived in Borger for 56 years. He married Lela Vinson in 1933. He was a retired pump repairman for Phillips Petroleum Co. and a member of Fairlanes Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lela Carpenter; a son, Glynn Carpenter of Borger; a sister, Meda Ferguson of Porum, Okla.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Hazel Hancock MORTON - Hazel Hancock, 87, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Gordon Renshaw, pastor, and the Rev. Weldon Richardson of First Baptist Church of Gardendale officiating. Burial will be in Morton Memorial Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home of Muleshoe. Mr. Hancock was born in Dawson County. He married Eunice Richardson in 1930 in Lovington, N.M., and had lived in Morton since 1946. He was a farmer and rancher and had served as constable and city marshal. He also served on the Morton City Council as mayor pro-tem, and as the Cochran County Tax Assessor. He was a member of the Morton Fire Department, the Odd Fellows Lodge and First Missionary Baptist Church. He retired as Cochran County Sheriff. Mr. Hancock was Morton Man of the Year in 1985. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1989. Survivors include three sons, Richard Hancock of El Paso, Herschel Hancock of Breckenridge and John Hancock of Morton; three daughters, Wanda Lemons of Monahans, Mayree Silhan of Morton and Melinda Angel of Lubbock; three sisters, Orene Holliday of Lamesa, Frances Scoggin of Shertz and Nancy Pruitt of Kingsland; two brothers, Mac W. Mark Phillips, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Palo Duro Cemetery by Vega Funeral Home. Mrs. Allred was born in Seymour and had lived in the Vega area for 50 years. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1934. She worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell until 1945, when she began farming and ranching. She was a member of Vega United Methodist Church. She married Don L. Allred in 1942 at Clayton, N.M. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Burk of Durant, Okla.; a son, Don R. "Donnie" Allred of Vega; two brothers, Dudley Arden and Wilson Arden, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Camille Arden and Alice Ruth Purcell, both of Amarillo; and three grandchildren. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas. Mr. Ellison was born in Kiowa, Kan., and had lived in Sherman County since 1929. He was a farmer and rancher. He married Alice Riggenbach in 1929 in Medicine Lodge, Kan. She preceded him in death in 1979. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. She married Jack Barnard in 1933 in Amarillo. She was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Home Demonstration Club and First Baptist Church. She worked at HR's Flowers and Gifts, and Stevens Floral Shop. Survivors include three daughters, Jackie Wyatt of White Deer, Jacquita Welch of Abilene and Kay McDonald of Wylie; two sisters, Ruth Pennington and Dorothy Owen, both of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Amarillo Jimmy George Kimberlin Jimmy George Kimberlin, 56, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Bill Goodwin and Cecil Burch, both of East Amarillo Church of Christ, and Keith Boutwell of Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Life Enrichment Center, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Kimberlin was born in Greenville. He was a Navy veteran. He worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 25 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of East Amarillo Church of Christ and the National Association of Letter Carriers. He married Beth Kimbrel in 1965 in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Stacy Munoz of San Antonio and Laura Merrill of Oklahoma City; a brother, David Kimberlin of Rowlett; his mother, Aylene Kimberlin of Amarillo; and two grandchildren. "Jerry" Morrow, in 1990. Osage St. Mrs. Golden was born in Paso Robles, Calif. She married Anthony Golden in 1951 at Yuma, Ariz. He died in 1988. She moved to Amarillo in 1994 where she became a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She also was a member of WMU. Survivors include three sons, Jeff Golden and Tony Golden, both of Amarillo and John Golden of Los Angeles; three daughters, Cheryl Golden and Theresa Vernon, both of Amarillo and Janna Golden of Sebastopol, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Lloyd, 83, of Amarillo, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Park East Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. J. Alan Ford officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park East Mausoleum by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors. Mr. Lloyd was born in Calera, Okla. He served in World War II and moved to Amarillo in 1952. He married Lottie Ralls. Mr. Lloyd was a welder for ASARCO and a member of Southwest Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jim Lloyd of Azle and Charles Lloyd of Redmond, Wash.; a daughter, Carole Coggins of Watauga; a sister, Edna King; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Suran PORTALES, N.M. - Helen B. Suran, 79, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the Muffley Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Helen Catholic Church by the Rev. Joe Augustine. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Suran was born in Hutchinson, Minn. She married Stephen Suran in 1947 in Chicago, and they moved to Portales in 1978. She worked as a secretary. She was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9515 Women's Auxiliary and American Legion Post 0031. Mrs. Suran was preceded in death by a brother, Eldred H. Miller. Survivors include a son, Stephen Suran Jr. of Elmhearst, Ill.; a sister, Alva Brown of Grove City, Minn.; and three grandchildren. Elsewhere A.J. Armendariz HALSTEAD, Kan. - A.J. Mr. Armendariz was born in Halstead where he was a lifelong resident. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a tool and die supervisor at Cessna Aircraft. Mr. Armendariz was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Halstead and the American Legion Post 2 and Elks Lodge, both of Newton. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Marie. Survivors include his companion, Carol Koehn; three sons, Rube Armendariz of Wichita, Kan., and Mike Armendariz and Greg Armendariz, both of Halstead; two daughters, Sandra Mendoza of Derby and Cindy Schmidt of Sedan, N.M.; a brother, Salvador Armendariz of Halstead; a sister, Carmen Armendariz of Halstead; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Harris, 82, a former Keyes, Okla., resident, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m Thursday at First United Methodist Church of Keyes with the Rev. Delbert Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Willowbar Cemetery in Keyes by Miller Mortuary. Mrs. Harris was born in Sycamore. She attended school in Independence. She was a schoolteacher in Independence and Liberal. She married Edwin W. Harris in 1941. They moved to Keyes, where they farmed until retiring in 1979. They moved to Liberal in 1981. Mrs. Harris was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Rebekah Lodge and Helping Hands Extension Club of Keyes. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1993 and a sister, Margaret Armstrong. Survivors include three daughters, Virginia "Ginger" Hill of Liberal, Shirley Brown of Indianola, Neb., and Jacqueline Gillum of Fritch, Texas; a sister, Ida Mae Crouch of Wichita; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Keyes, or to the Liberal Good Samaritan Center in Liberal, c/o Miller Mortuary.
