Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery by Lamb Funeral Home. Mrs. Hugg was born in Madill, Okla., and had lived in McLean most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church and Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul Hugg, in 1954. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Hugg of Amarillo and June Stone of Sulphur Springs; three sons, William Gerald Hugg of DeLeon, Harold Hugg of Channing and Terry Hugg of Amarillo; a sister, Narvis Russell of Alma, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Paschel, 93, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Pat Carathers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega by Vega Funeral Home. Mr. Paschel was born in Johnson County, Kan., and had lived in Vega for 18 years. He had farmed in the Vega area and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He married Dora White in 1932 at Lenexa, Kan. She died Aug. 1. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Harwell, in 1987. Survivors include two sons, Larry Paschel and Michael Paschel, both of Hereford; a sister, Martha Rohrbach of Kansas City; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be to the American Cancer Society or a favorite hospice program. Hazel Alexander PAMPA - Hazel Alexander, 84, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Fox, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Alexander was born in Knox County and moved to Pampa in 1946 from Gorman. She graduated from O'Brien High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Hobart Baptist Church. She married J.J. Alexander in 1933 at Knox City. He died in 1985. She also was preceded in death by a son, Jack Alexander, in 1988. Survivors include two grandsons, Chris Alexander of Lubbock and Mark Alexander of Irving; and two great-grandsons. Harriet Marie Woodward BORGER - Harriet Marie Woodward, 73, died Thursday, March 11, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Jones, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Love in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Woodward was born in Ponca City, Okla., and had been a Borger resident for 47 years. She previously lived in Oklahoma City. She had been a secretary at Phillips Refinery and was secretary for the Salvation Army. Mrs. Woodward was a homemaker and active member of First United Methodist Church where she did volunteer work in the office, was a member of the Chancel choir, United Methodist Women, Amity Sunday School Class and a prayer chain worker. She was on committees for bereavement dinners, local missions, congregational care and scholarships for McMurry College. Mrs. Woodward was on the board of directors for the Salvation Army. She was a member of the Paragon Club and was a crisis volunteer. She married Eugene Woodward in 1949 at McAlester, Okla. He died in 1993. Survivors include a son, Mark Woodward of Douglas, Wyo.; a daughter, Lee Ann Callison of Midland; two brothers, J.E. Woodward of Alleyton and T.J. Woodward of Krebs, Okla.; and two grandchildren. Amarillo Joseph Newton Riggs Jr. Joseph Newton Riggs Jr., 92, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, March 9, 1999. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in St. Thomas the Apostle with Monsignor Joseph Tash and Monsignor Francis A. Smyer officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Riggs was born in Longview and moved to Amarillo in 1908. He graduated from Amarillo High School and in 1928 from Texas Christian University with a degree in business. He then did further studies in history. In 1929, he began working as a traveling salesman and later was head of the purchasing department and vice president for Amarillo Hardware. He retired from Amarillo Hardware. He was a volunteer for many years at St. Anthony's Hospital with St. Anthony's Auxiliary. He set up the library at St. Anthony's Hospital. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. He married Mary Catherine Willett in 1937 at Santa Fe, N.M. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Martha Patricia Riggs Flathouse of Austin, Elizabeth Anne Riggs Zesiger of Deer Park and EllaJean Riggs Martin Snyder of Dallas; a son, Joseph Newton Riggs III of Albuquerque, N.M.; nine grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. She was a homemaker and member of Spanish Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Chavez, in 1979 and by a son, Lawrence, in 1992. Mr. Chick was born in Roll and raised in Cheyenne where he attended school. He was an Army veteran. He married Nerissa Crawford in 1960 at Sayre. They lived in Carter and Sayre before moving to Pampa, Texas, where they lived for 19 years. In 1990, they returned to Carter. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Geneva Flowers of Carter; two sisters, Darlene Hensley of Durham and Charlene Felton of Boerne, Texas; a brother, Jack Chick of Porum; three grandsons; and a great-grandson. Elsewhere Mary Florence Walker LEWISVILLE - Mary Florence Walker, 99, died Monday, March 8, 1999. Services were at 7 p.m. Thursday in Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Sackett officiating. Graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Mrs. Walker was born in Fitzhugh, Okla. She attended school in Petrolia, Texas. She married Gordon Roston McGaughey in 1920. He died in 1930. She worked for Smith Quicksilver, C.R. Anthony and Blackburn Brothers in Amarillo. She married W.H. Bethany in 1940. He died in 1965. She married F.D. Walker in 1972. He died in 1992. She retired from Blackburn Brothers and moved to Wheeler and lived on a ranch. She was a member of the Wheeler Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Wanda Harden of Odessa and Moletta Miner of Lewisville; two sisters, Ruth McCarty of Muleshoe and Iris Butts of Fort Collins, Colo.; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren.
